They are really stretching this story past the bounds of credibility. I still find it hard to believe that Kim would ever have married Will in the first place. As I have said above,he is hardly a catch.

I don't understand Kim. She's such a tough cookie, but when the entire family was convinced that she was the one who drugged Dawn, she didn't kick them out. She left, and in her absence, she allowed Rose to continue to live in her own home to wreak her havoc. She plays her revenge games, but she catches Will cheating and she doesn't kick him out. She continues to let him mooch but tries to make him squirm. As a viewer of only a year, this seems to go against the history that I've read about her. Her behavior isn't as strong as her legacy, to me.

Soapland does not follow the rules of the real world, there is no rhyme or reason to much of what happens there. Characters do and say things that would never be said in reality. They reach conclusions based on the flimsiest of evidence, at other times they blatantly ignore things that are staring them in the face. Characters change behavior and personalities to suit the current plots. Kim is simply followingthe rules of Soapland. I do not know what it is like where you live, but where I live neighbours barely say hello to each other. In Soapland neighbours know everything about each other, move in and out of each other's houses, live with each other and sleep with each other, almost at the speed of light. See Laurel and Charles. Kim will not be the last character to puzzle you.

I loved Belle's moment of clarity. And although she may not realize it yet, it shows her triumph over Tom. He tried to destroy Lisa's ashes, but Belle was able to recover enough so that Lisa could be buried with Zak in that beautiful moment. I hope that when she doesn't carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, she'll be able to look back and realize that she did good.

I never knew Tina, so found her to be a hoot and Lydia knocking her down and everyone seeing the ankle bracelet was a nice bit of humor mixed in with the sad occasion.
But from my reading, Tina was never a miserable person, and wouldn't have gone after her inheritance or disrespected Zak as she did. Could you tell me more?
Also, I'm hoping to watch some classic episodes of Emmerdale that are shown in the States. Can you recommend a good year to begin? I'd rather to see earlier episodes of the characters we know today than the ones from before they joined the show.

I believe ITV3 started to show the Emmerdale Classic episodes, I think it was when they were in the late 1990s, not sure though. I do not remember ever having seen anything from the 70s when Emmerdale Farm first started. The Classic episodes were shown from 2019...

https://emmerdale.fandom.com/wiki/Wishing_Well_Cottage
Wishing Well Cottage was originally a barn, a part of Holdgate Farm, and was rented out to the Dingles by Mr Holdgate. According to Lisa Dingle in 2017, the house held fifty years' worth of Dingle history, meaning that the family had lived there since at least 1967.
When Mr. Holdgate died in September 1995, Frank Tate, who had bought Holdgate Farm as part of the Home Farm Estate, tried to evict the Dingles as he technically owned the house. However, many of the villagers banded together to save the Dingles house so the Tates were forced to agree to allow the Dingles to stay and rent it.
In 1998, the Dingles faced loosing their home again after Lady Tara Oakwell's financial issues meant she had to sell off chunks of the Home Farm Estate. Tara's lawyer Laura Johnstone agreed to let the Dingles buy their house for ?6,000, believing they'd never be able to raise the money. Her suspicions looked to be proved correct when the Dingles didn't have the money by the 1st October deadline so Zak, Lisa, Butch, and Mandy were forced to move out. However, Mandy managed to come up with the money after her boyfriend Paddy Kirk's mother Barbara paid her to marry someone else in the hopes that it would end her relationship with Paddy once and for all. After Mandy married her cousin Butch, Barbara handed over the cash and the Dingles were able to buy their house back.
After Debbie Dingle moved out in early 2006, the Dingles transformed her old bedroom into a self-contained flat to give Sam and Alice their own space with and their newborn son Samson.
In January 2018, Joe Tate arranges for the house to be demolished to make way for an access road for a golf course. Joe throws a party at Home Farm so nobody will see Wishing Well Cottage get demolished, but whilst Chas Dingle was working at The Woolpack, Noah and Samson Dingle sneak off to Wishing Well Cottage and are trapped when the place is getting destroyed. However, Graham Foster beats up the contractors to get them to stop with the demolishing, and he and Eric Pollard save Noah and Samson.

Last night's episode was so poignant, but aside from the flashbacks, my favorite moments were Sam and Belle singing together and getting Cain to continue, Sam hugging Cain from behind and Cain's deadpan response, and the two brothers sharing some of Dad's whiskey and giving Belle apple juice instead. Lovely moments!

Question for long-term viewers.
I'm beginning to watch some older episodes of Emmerdale and am currently watching early 2019. It seems that Belle is calling the police because she believes that Lachlin sent her something akin to the flowers that she said that Tom sent her.
Is this a trend with Belle? Obviously she's been involved with some people who have turned out to be horrible, but I'm wondering whether some haven't accepted what she was initially claiming because of memories of past behavior (where it looks like to me, she was obviously right but not everything yet has unfolded for me to know for sure).

Back in around 2014 Belle accidently killed her friend Gemma over an argument about a boy, Sean Spencer, who was Amelia's brother. They both fancied him and as they argued Belle pushed her to the ground and Gemma hit her head on a rock and died. Belle turned herself in to the police and got 3 years, she was out after 1 year, following a successful appeal. After being released she started hearing Gemma's voice all the while telling her to do bad things, this eventually lead to her being diagnosed with shizophrenia.

I would say it is a toss up as to who is the dimmer one. If Dawn believes Billy got his injuries at boxersize or personal training, then she is not very bright. In boxersize they do not hit each other and injuries in the gym are usually sprains and strains.

The children aren't safe with Tom. And for that matter, neither is Nicola. There's no telling what he might do.

Was this story written by a five year old, because it makes no sense at all. - Did Mack call the police? When John arrived he said he heard someone calling them from the road. Someone? Who? A random passerby? Then he said the police may have got a fix on the livefeed. - Are we meant to believe Jade, who forced Ross and Billy to fight because she lost money, would leave a minion to pick up the money, instead of taking it herself, it would only have taken a few seconds. - How thick is Billy, who was only fighting for the money, then let's pride get the better of him because he does not want to lose? - Billy has a large bruise on his forehead, one of the strongest parts of the skull, while Ross wearing thin mitts has no damage to his hands. Evan professional boxers break their hands when punching to the head with bare knuckles. Ross is supposed to be an experienced fighter, and yet that wild swing that he took at Billy shows him to be a novice.

And sadly I suspect that Jade will be nabbing family members in order to get her money back.
It did not look to be that much money, not exactly a sack or a suitcase full, just a fairly small pouch. Presumably it would have included the prize money for the boxers, so she would have given that away anyway. If they were charging to view on-line, that money would not be lost, so it seems a lot of fuss about not very much. Anything she does to recover the money must surely increase the chance of being nabbed by the police?

Did Cain, a non smoker, buy that lighter specially to burn the caravan? I always wonder if, people who are smokers, have to go and buy a new lighter, after throwing it into a building to set it alight. Perhaps I am too mean to throw it in, I would use it to light a piece of paper to start the fire.
Was this the best way to get rid of Tina. Now that she has no where to live, will she not just move into the house?

Lack of imagination by the writers. Why can they not write an episode based on reality for a change instead of more faux drama. I simply do not believe Cain would behave like this, even though he is a hothead. It is as if Soap's are trying to normalise behaving badly to doctors and nurses. And then they could not resist adding a dreamlike fantasy with Holly, although I suppose people in hospitals do experience such hallucinations. Were we suppose to think Holly was inviting Moira to cross over but she pulled back at the last minute. Personally I found this a disappointing episode.

Do the side effects start immediately? I would have thought it would be at least 5 minutes before they occur, giving time to take it, and dispose of the packaging before entering the house. Especially if you are trying to keep it secret, it also makes it easier to be caught out, if you put the package in the top of your kitchen rubbish bin. Or you could burn it in the sink and flush away the ashes.

Perhaps he will, be allowed to take it to The Chokey unless the Police seize it as evidrence

I thought Tom getting his comeupence was a bit of a damp squib. If ever there was an occasion when we needed a bit of drama, surely this was it. It all seemed a bit rushed. I thought they would have saved it for a Thursday episode, when they have an hour to go into a bit more detail
i wanted to see tom charged and told Belle's case not going ahead of axing him

Is that it? I wanted to see that smug smile wiped off his face as he was charged :(
I demand at least one scene with Jimmy grovelling as well.

After more than a year of absolute hell for this ongoing story, it's all neatly wrapped up in fragments of a 20-min episode? What a letdown! I sure hope there is a month of trial proceedings with lots of testimony against Tom, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
there is a trial, the solicitor will likely get tom out on bail

I cannot imagine Tom just meekly accepted being arrested with a cheery "it's a fair cop, guv, you got me bang to rights". Pretty sure there would of been a bit of shouting, "it's not me, it's her" going on.
The writers should used some of the imagination they use to write faux drama to come up with something better than that. Yes, Dennis , very lazy. 1 out of 10 for effort.

It's not, but I still think yesterday's episode should have been more high octane than it was, especially as trials in soaps are usually a bit of a let down, apart from the usual shouting at the judge.

If he has any sense, now he knows Tom's true colours, he will run a mile.
I seem to remember Tom has something on him but cannot remember what.

I agree but was glad that he was arrested at least...

I think that Amelia was frightened of Tom.
I think that ITV has a car dealer who lets the likes of Kerry and Chesney have second hand vehicles very cheap

Considering the number of people that Eric Pollard has scammed in his life, you would think he would be wise to someone scamming him.

I was surprized that Tom was not remanded when he was arrested on Wednesday, to appear in court yesterday. Or if Belle or Amelia had told the police about him taking the top, then he would have been arrested for breaking his bail conditions. But then of course then Belle would not have had the final opportunity to have him arrested at the ferry port, or us to see him shouting and struggling with "PC Tinker".

I was surprised to see Tom being released on bail but as you say, gave us a great ending which we missed on Wednesday :D

If you watch the old Emmerdale on ITV3 Pollard has just been calling Pearl, who works in his factory, for being stupid and losing all of her and her friends savings, to internet scammers.

I think that she is now so afraid of him that she acted in a way so that he wouldn't hurt her again. She now sees who he is.
Yesterday had Jimmy doing an amazing job of showing all his conflicting emotion as he realized the truth, his complicity, and how he also bullied Belle. He is some actor! It was a standout performance.
Now, I'm hoping that Amelia will apologize to Belle and I'd like to see her offer testimony at the trial that I hope we have.
I love how Belle's ingenuity is what took down Tom. I enjoyed the show so much that I watched it a second time. I wanted to focus no how Belle got that phone into Tom's bag, or wherever she put it.

Little sissy Tom is whining how it's not safe for him in prison, but that's directly analogous to what life was like for Belle. She wasn't safe in the prison that he created for her. I really hope that his solicitor throws the case. I wouldn't mind seeing the guards taze Tom during one of his melt downs.

When Ruby says she does not want to make up with father, why can Stephanie and Caleb not accept this. I have never understood this idea that "closure" can make everything alright. Somethings can never be made alright or forgiven. Steph is not trying to make things better for Ruby, I think she is doing it for herself. I am pretty sure this is going to be an abuse story, there have been hints.

With Emmerdales fascination with gangster stories it is a pity they are so bad at them. They really are stretching believability too far. Jade must know by now now that Ross did not take the money, but still she persists. If Ross could find ?10,000 that easily, I doubt he would have been getting his brains scrambled in illegal boxing matches in the first place. For all she knows the police may have it, and if she is worried about her reputation she could simply spread that story. Are we really meant to believe that her thug, would throw a 15 year old schoolgirl, of a public multi storey car park just because she told him to. That a man who works for wages would risk a life sentence to please her. That he would commit murder in a place that probably has CCTV and or number plate recognition at the entrance or exit, it must have been a quiet day in Hotton when no one noticed teenage girl being dangled off a car park roof. That Mack, who when he was introduced to us, had overpowered Cain and put him in a car boot, stands there and let the female thug hit him in the mouth. That Ross, a supposed hardman, would not retaliate against her and her thugs in some way. I doubt Jade wants a war. Mike Tyson said "Everyone has a plan until they get a punch in the mouth". Would Jade's continue if facing similar threats, she is only getting away with it because Ross is letting her. Alternatively Ross could simply disappear then Jade would have nothing to gain from carrying her threats. The episode started with a montage of sad and miserable characters but when we got to the multi storey I found it to be comedy relief.

Just had thought while posting the above, how do thugs like Jade's get paid. Do they get an hourly rate, a weekly wage, an annual salary or a bundle of cash every now and again. However it is, it must be a lot, to throw a schoolgirl of a roof.

I actually agree, Lizann. Although he was wrong to tell April about her mother's suicide, it happened in an organic manner. Ross was really the hero of the day and Mack was completely to blame.
It's interesting. I didn't know Ross from the past and liked him from the start. I liked how he didn't have ego and agreed to throw the fight to help Billy get out of the mess he was in, without getting killed. I like how he came through for April as hard as it was for him to revisit that location. I don't understand why he is comfortable going upstairs with Steph while her parents and grandfather are one story below, but it was a fun soapy scene that made me laugh.
