Why is Al in Aberdeen? Most people who live in Scotland don't even visit Aberdeen, unless they are involved in the oil industry. Was it just an excuse to mention Debbie? I spent the first twenty odd years of my life in Glasgow and only went to Aberdeen once, and that was on a cycling/youth hostelling holiday. There must be dozens of garages there capable of fixing his car. Is Al not in the AA or other motoring rescue organization? - Corny or what.

I have never notice him sounding posh. I think when you move to another part of the country your accent changes a bit. I was born in Glasgow but have spent most of my life south of the border. I have never tried to lose my accent but have modified it in order that people can understand me. I stop using Glasgow slang and do not say things like "doon the toon" or "use the heid" instead I say "down the town" and "use your head". People down here never have any doubt that I am Scottish, but it is true that when I have returned to Glasgow people have said I sounded posh, but this has never been intentional, just a natural progression. If you are a Scouser perhaps this is what you hear in Mark Wowack's accent.

I don't think that the cafe has anything to worry about from competition from The HOP, surely their custom will come from visitors who probably would not go to the cafe anyway. Cafe customers would be residents and visitors passing through the village. Not sure how far out of the village is The HOP is, but surely far enough that people living in the village are not going to go there instead of the cafe? Already The HOP eatery seems to be a shambles, the management team have little experience of running a restaurant and Victoria seems to have only ordered enough ingredients for one batch of samosas, what was going to happen on Day 2.

I am bored with almost all of the current story lines. I find most of the characters unlikable so I really couldn't care what happens to any of them. I see no chemistry between Harriet and Malone I just wish they would get together and drive off into the sunset with blue lights flashing. I should feel sorry for Will but I don't because a I dislike him most of all. If Gabby runs off to Australia that will be one more misery gone. Belle really should show herself some self respect and never speak to drippy Jamie again.

I don't understand why Malone was 'touched on the head' when he was supposed to be untouchable.

Malone should be alive but the vicar needs to call the Police preferably Swirling so he can take possession of the gun and the syringe all with Malones prints on.

This Malone story is just getting silly. Imagine the scene Malone getting ready to go out in the morning, phone check, keys check, gun check, silencer check, bag of drugs check, syringe check. When he comes home again taking all these items from his pockets and placing them on his hall table. The writers really need to stop reading "Dime Detective Stories" for their inspiration. I am not saying there are not corrupt officers but no way could anyone in a modern police force could get away with his level of corruption. Even if Dawn is not the most credible of people, they could not just completely disregard her accusations.
Malone must be worth millions, we saw him with a warehouse full of drugs, so much that they were moving them with fork lift trucks. Yet what does he do with all this money, try to persuade Harriet to be with him when he retires.
At this level of drug dealing you cannot simply "retire", I had a neighbour in a similar position, who wanted to "retire". When you are involved in dealing in drugs you are part of a chain, if you remove one link, the chain is broken. This is especially true near the top of the chain, if Malone "retires" the people above him in the chain lose all the links below him and they do not like that. My neighbour almost had a nervous breakdown and was in fear of his life, he was almost glad when he was arrested as it was his only way out. For Malone to be "untouchable" everyone in his Nick would need to be in on it, and I don't think that is likely.
I hope this not now going to follow the usual line of "we can't go to the police as no one will believe us". They have the gun, presumably not police issue, the silencer, the syringe and the bag of drugs all with his fingerprints and DNA on them. Would be difficult for him to explain all that away.

Just when you think it can't get any more silly it does! - Harriet must have been a terrible detective, I am betting she didn't come top of the class at "Detective School". She was ready to call the police when she thought Malone was still alive but when he came to and Dawn shot him she wasn't. While he was still alive he could maybe have lied and talked himself out of trouble, when he died there was no one to contradict their version of events. She says "The truth is what they belive" and "They will frame this anyway they like. Does she honestly believe the entire police force is bent. It does not matter how many times Dawn shot him, it was a semi- automatic gun, easy to do. Does she think the Crime Scene Investigators are also bent. The evidence would support their story. Where would Dawn get a gun from. Dawn's fingerprints would be on the gun but so would Malone's, his would be on the magazine, Dawn's would not. His would also be on the silencer, bag of drugs and the syringe.
When his colleagues realize Malone is missing they will trace his phone to the village maybe their house, if it is searched they will find traces of blood, washing will not remove all trace. Harriet should know these things. She says "We will bury him where no one will ever find him" Does she not watch TV crime dramas, bodies are always found, if people walk dogs nearby. Harriet says maybe he got spooked by Dawn's accusation and disappeared, seems to contradict her opinion no one will believe he is bent. Waiting to see if Harriet says she got rid of the carpet because she spilt coffeee on it. As if this tale is not bad enough we have a bit of comic light relief with Will and Billy behaving like naughty schoolboys in the Woolpack. I don't like Will but I found him easier to accept as weak miserable loser than this giggly idiot. And just a bit of icing on the cake the Paul and Mandy "will they won't they get back together".
Another well used cliche, two people discuss some secret stuff and think someone has overheard them. Instead of doing nothing and waiting to see if the eavesdropper says something, they go and see them and try to find out if they know anything and end up admitting to what they were trying to keel secret in the first place.

I think it has been written as Harriet being in love with Malone, but that never came over to me on the screen. If she did love him knowing what he had done she certainly should never have been a vicar. I fear you are right it will drag on and on.

Surely in a place as quiet as Emmerdale someone will have noticed his car parked on the street, so when the police start looking for him more seriously they will know this was the last place he was seen. I suppose Malone's clothes were burnt to destroy all DNA, which might possibly have survived if they had been buried. But surely Harriet could have found something else to burn them with, green branches make a lot of smoke, the writers trying to be a little too clever with tales garden maintenance here. Hope no one had any washing hanging out.

Dawn is a loose cannon but surely living the life she lived she must have been in dangerous situations before, so I don't see her going to pieces the way she has. Her dialogue is just too unreal.

Dan is an idiot, has he got the money from Brenda yet, if so why does he not pay off some of these bills.

She told Moira that Marlon and the kids enjoyed being at the seaside, yet we saw him in the graveyard with Victoria in Monday's episode, how much time pasted between episodes? What on earth is this rubbish story with Marlon and Al and the great pizza box robbery. Marlon behaving like a demented Ninja doing a poor impression of a Power Ranger. If this is taste of what we are getting when it goes to six episodes a week soon, I would rather it stayed with three. No thanks, to double rations of Mandy and Paul and the will they won't they get back together story. Mandy talks as if Vinny was nine instead of nineteen.
It seems that Emmerdale is competing with Eastenders to increase the amount of misery they can fit in, Jamie and Belle, the woeful Will and dreary Dawn together with terrible vicar Harriet, neanderthal Nate and Cain scowling their way around the village and now the precocious Sarah has depressing Charity have reappeared. Not one ounce of joy in any of the current storylines. It seems they did not spend any of the lockdown time trying to come up with some decent scripts.

Until tonight It looked like Amy had forgotten all about Frank. I don't think we have seen Amy and Tracey in a scene together for a long while now, altho' in a place as small as Emmerdale it must have been difficult to avoid eack other. Now sure why Marlon invited Tracey other than as a contrived way to bring them together. Amy seemed anoyed that Tracey should be bringing up the past, very unreasonable of her. If Amy had any decency and sense she would have went back to Belfast after Frank died. Marlon seems to be in training for the role of 'Village Idiot' writing for him is terrible.
Can someone please shoot Will I cannot stand much more of him, Dawn should have let him buy the gun in the hope he would shoot himself.

The way this came across to me is that the story started off with Belle really falling for Jamie and then the writers changed their minds and made her fooling him to reveal where the car parts were. In reality the people that fixed the car did not work in the village so why bring the old parts back to dump them in the pond near it. Would Jamie even know where they were, it was Kim that arranged it. Or did Belle decide to drop Jamie in it when she knew Andrea had told Moira. Moving in and sleeping with Jamie really is dedication to duty. - Not well written.

Believe me Eastenders is much worse than than either Emmerdale or Corrie so you are not missing anything. It has not become obsessed with rubbish gangster stories. Walford must run a close second to Tijuana as the "The Murder Capital of the World"

The extra episodes have definately cased a drop in quality and ITV is a business, but if the quality continues to drop, so will the viewing audience, so less people will see the adverts. I have always wondered how effective TV advertising is anyway, myself I don't really watch them, I get up to do things or check my phone or just look away, rarely could I tell you what has been advertised. The problem is now with the extra episodes they have come to rely on characters having relationship problems and just repeat variations of the same storylines over and over. It gets to the point where almost all the characters have been in relationships with every other character. It is rare for them to meet anyone outside of their own world. Does anyone actually know a real Steve MacDonald. (Maybe should have posted this bit in Corrie Forum, but commenta apply to both programmes.)

They now have completely ruined the character of Dawn, I suspect she will leave soon. Surely she could just have resolved never to mention the Malone incident rather than sleep with Ellis and destroy his relationship with his brother. - A bit extreme.- Surely she should have considered that this could have caused a violent incident even reulting in one of the brothers being killed. In a way it is a repeat of the Moira and Nate story but as is the way with Soaps Cain seems to have forgiven Nate and all is well between them, so I suppose if the story line dictates, Billy will in time forgive Ellis. Maybe they should change the programme name to "Forgiveness".

Did we actually see Charity kiss Mackenzie, or did that happen off camera? If we did I seem to have miss it.

There was no kiss shown or any sign of a lead up to them kissing or even the location.
Other than at the accident scene where there was no one else around to take a picture, the next scene they were shown together there were too many witnesses to have a secret kiss.

I find his accent very annoying, it is just too exaggerated. I am also finding Lydia more and more annoying, can no one have a conversation within earshot of her without her joining in?

I don't think it was necessary for Nate to take it on himself to confess to a crime he did not commit. I am not sure Belle is as vulnerable as the family think she is, when she is taking her medication she is pretty stable, but no one seems to actually check that she is taking it, just accepting her word for it, personally I do not think she is. Emmerdale has become a village of misery, the only light relief at the moment is Meena's pursuit of David and I feel that too may be about to take a dark turn.

Or maybe want a "freebie". - I don't understand why Dawn is scared of "Beardie Man" all she has to do is threaten to tell his wife, he has more to lose than she has.

I also don't understand the thinking behind the "Gender Reveal Party". If Lydia is making two cakes, one pink, one blue, that must mean no one has opened the hospital letter yet. So how will they know which cake to use? Is Lydia going to open the letter beforehand? If she is why does she not open it now, then she will only have to bake one cake, which she could do when no one is home. I feel I must have missed something here.
