It is a pity that we did not see the court scene where Matty is released. As things stand there still seems to be a discrepancy between Marty's account and what Samson has now told the police. Samson says he took the bottle and waved it around a bit, so presumably he said Matty stabbed him in self dendense. But surely Matty told them Samson was pushed or fell onto the knife. Did the police not question Josh's role even though Samson said he was nowhere near them.

I got the impression that Josh was interviewed after Matty had been released, which would mean that the decision was made before Josh was seen by the police. Have all charges been dropped against Matty because as things stand he may still have deliberately stabbed Samson, even though it could have been in self defense? Did Matty know Josh pushed Samson, or did he think Samson was lunging at him? Was Matty always scheduled to be in court that day or was it because Samson changed his statement? In the real world it takes months if not years to get a court date. Where did this Josh suddenly came from, just conjured up for a bit of drama, does not seem to me to be a very realistic character?

Josh was indeed cast just for the Samson exit storyline, but they could have made a much better job of introducing him. Samson has not always been a kind person but still seems unlikely to have been buddy with someone like Josh... I do hope that Josh gets to spend time in the chokey and will disappear from our tv screens for ever.

Just realized that I did not see the first 30 minutes of Wednesday's episode. I started watching at 7.30 just as the commercial break was ending, not realizing it had started at 7.00. Does make a little more sense now, but still a bit of a mess.

Dawn recovered remarkably well considering that the guy that gave the drugs to Rose said, there was enought there, to put an elephant down. Rose tipped to whole lot into one glass, instead of a few drops. The drink was probably about half and half, but still Dawn managed to get to her car and start her journey.

Totally, and Dawn, that ungrateful little wretch. The Kim I knew wouldn't have been on the defensive for all that time. After all she did for Dawn, I'd have kicked her and her horrible mother out. And how stupid is Will? He knows that Rose has made passes at him and yet he still thinks that Kim did it and that it's Rose setting up an attempted rape?

The scene with trashy Rose exercising on the staircase was hilarious. I have to say that when I work out, it is most definitely not on the stairs, unless I'm doing some Achilles stretches afterward.

Josh is scary to me. The way he has no fear with Chas, no fear with Lydia. I'm so glad that this is what made Samson brave enough to turn on Josh. I love that he did come through to protect her.

He was not very scary with Liam, who is himself about as scary as a teddy bear. What was the point of bringing his gang, "The Quiet Ones" if they were just going to slope off, without saying a word. I think you got it wrong there, Dennis, they're not The Quiet Ones they are The Silent Ones.

I agree with you, she is sure now what is going on and she will do anything she can to prove that it was Rose and not her.... I am sure it will not be over by next week, sorry to disappoint all those that want storylines to be over within a couple of weeks or so... just have faith that justice will prevail before too long.... this includes Tom and Belle storyline... I see so many comments blaming scriptwriters and that they need to be sacked or at least changed.... we now see storylines that take longer to be resolved than years ago, even Alan Bradley and Rita's storyline in Corrie carried on for a couple of years !!!! It would be boring if every storyline would be over in just a few weeks, even if they are uncomfortable to watch. In soapland most evil people get their comeuppance and we just need to wait for that ... :)

All very true, but I think in Alan Bradley and Rita's time, we were still on two, or was it three, episodes a week, so our perception of the length of storylines was probably different. Also nowadays I don't think it is just the time it takes for stories to be resolved, that is the problem, it is the number of unbelievable twists that it allows them to insert.

Why is Tracey so intolerant of Ella? Yes Ella killed a child, when she herself was a child, but it was not someone Tracey knew. I find it surprising that she seems more tolerant of Amy and Kerry, who were responsible for the death of her own father, then she is of Ella.

That was a hard watch. Why do I have such a sick feeling that he'll find out where the bus was heading and be there when she gets off, and she'll be too afraid to shout out for help. I'm so glad that she got Piper out of there, as well.

I do not think either will be killed, Belle certainly will not be, Piper might become a victim just to prove a point what happens in reality.. I think that when Tom next attacks Belle that Piper will leap up and go for Tom's neck with a tight grip. Belle tries to pull Piper off but ends up ripping out Tom's jugular vein and he bleeds to death.

When Liam is telling Ella to terminate her pregnancy, it comes across that he is telling her my child was killed, you're a child killer, and I want you to kill this baby that you might love. Tit for tat.

It's one thing not to want to be a father if a paternity test proves that he is, and it's totally okay not to want to give into what he sees as a ploy to get him back. But it's another to tell someone to get an abortion. It's up to then. She could choose to keep the baby and just move away. She said from the start that she doesn't want anything from him. She could refuse child support.

Part of me understands Liam's reaction. He is obviously not healed. I don't know how anyone can heal after what he's lived through. But at the same time, Ella's had a long life since what happened, and it sounded like she pushed her friend and there was no intent to harm. It was a horrible accident and she served her time. She seems to have become a better person, one that Liam could develop feelings for to have a relationship with. I almost feel that some of his anger is self-loathing that he could have begun to have feelings for someone who did this, more than being angry at her.

I agree about Liam. He really is acting like a jerk right now. As a physician, he should know of reasons for false positives or what has occurred. I feel for Ella. I think that Paula Lee is very good and adds a lot of nuance to her performance and quite suffering.

Perhaps a bit more booze would have helped to come up with a story that made more sense. What is Rubys motive? Is she doing this out of badness or as revenge for Kim getting one over Caleb, or is this part of greater grand plan? Nicky kept saying that if Caleb's scam was not successful his Mum would have nowhere to live, yet she had the money to pay off Rose's debts? Was it ever established if Caleb could have claimed part of Frank's estate through the courts?

This story has lost all credibility. Why hasn't Samson told the police that Josh deliberately pushed him onto the knife Matty was holding, when he was clearing up, so causing his injury. Josh should be the one to get 4 years, not Samson. Seems like the two casualities of this ridiculous case are the ones being punished, and NOT the instigator Josh.

This is the problem when things happen off-camera. Because we did not see what was said when Samson went to the police station or when he went to court, we are left to draw our own conclusions. I imagine Samson confessed to threatening Matty and maybe trying to rob him, but did not offer any statement in mitigation when he plead guilty in court. This would explain his four year sentence. I think the writers come up an idea for these stories write a beginning and an end, but struggle with some of the bits in the middle, and take the easy way out by allowing important parts to happen off camera. They explain these bits in a few sentences which are suppose to make sense of it all, but rarely do.

We can now look forward to getting back to Tom, the man who borrows a drill but does not borrow any drill bits. What was he doing in Belle's house, fitting secret spy cameras? Or hanging a few pictures.

Looking back at Jimmy's history in the haulage business, it might be time for him to get out of it. I don't think there has ever been a time when everything ran smooth for him. It seems there has always some chaos, financial crisis, or devious partner trying to grind him into the dust.

Problem with stories about medical conditions or illness is that unless the character is leaving it cannot be something that is terminal, or in Eric"s case, something that can be lived with. So it has to be something that they can recover from, unless the character is going to live with a life changing condition, like Chris Tate all those years ago.

Lydia was rather hard on Belle today at the funeral. I wish she could have remembered how she felt when she first came forward and Samson was sure that Craig was a great guy.

When Tom handed Piper over to the new owners, she did not seem badly hurt, if indeed she was hurt at all. Yet when Belle saw her at the vet's she seemed to be at death's door, she did not turn her head to look at Belle. Had Tom tranquilized her? The strangest part was when Belle accused Tom, in the street, of killing Piper, Rhona did not say that Piper was OK, as she must have been because we saw her being given to the new owners and she was, unless she had suddenly made a miraculous recovery. In order to make Tom even more nasty, the writers are going too far, so far that they are contradicting themselves.

The registered details of a microchipped dog can be changed, if the new owners contact the microchip company, Tom being a vet should be able to scan it, and probably register Piper to the new owners.

When it is routine surgery I am sure vets will say that, but knowing how much Belle loved Piper I think she would have insisted on waiting at the vet's. Although Piper had a "Cone of Shame", l never knew they were called that, as far as we could see Piper had no injuries, no shaved patches, no sign of stitches, at least they could have used some food dye to look like iodine. If Piper had been so badly injured that it had two vets working on her all night, would she be in a fit state to be given to a new owner so soon.
