Only Ashley really understands Laurel. They still have that chemistry too-would love to see them back together, I don't like that female vicar at all..Marlon could be a single dad for a bit..not everyone is in relationship all the time in real life either.

When actress was interviewed after she
returned in January -she said things like
Rachel would have more hardness in her
character/ would be back for good while
but didnt want to talk about length of
contracts etc.
So perhaps shes there to ensure Charity
went to prison and also be a sort of
maternity leave cover ?

Charlotte Bellamy is simply brilliant. A tremnedous performance. She owns the screen. Outstanding does not cover it really.

I sure agree with your statement about Charlotte Bellamy's performance, I find her excellent when it comes to emotional and difficult scenes ... I do hope though that Laurel and Marlon get through this together

After 21 years on the show ,was it not possible for Betty to make her brief entrance and return to Emmerdale on centre stage . Surely it wasn't necessary for Laurels' scene to take place at the same time.

Very true Perdita , I need two hearing aids which tends to make me speak quietly because of an echo back into the ear. Sandy may speak loudly because of working in the theatre ,he also has good clarity with his words.

Too much Betty-it all took too much time, considering that she's been away for a while too before this 'great farewell'. I must say I won't miss her.
I just hope Debbie will end up with Ross and they'll be very happy. Can't stand Pete.

I agree Perdita. Paula decided to retire and asked
the producer if she could film.some final scenes
but not be "killed off" on screen. The producer
granted her wish. Which I think is great and shows
some respect and affection for a long serving
character.
It wasnt meant to be dramatic -just a nice farewell
for viewers and colleagues.
You need a balance of character personalities
and ages in a soap -like real life. And those like
Betty provide that.
At least it was a storyline that was completed
and made sense.Unlike some of the more
ambitious ones that are unrealstic or just
fizzle out.

The actress is an old woman this is show biz she is lucky she even hot a send off. On many shows they do not do that.

I may be behind the times but I know of no test that takes a blood sample from mum and potential dad and can tell if he is the father of the child???

Ive noticed that when someone has a long-
term intermittent relationship that covers
most of their adult life( like Charity & Cain)
they dont really consider any temporary
resumptions to be your actual adultery-
even when married/partnered to another
person.
A bit of a naughty habit perhaps - but not

If Chas, Debbie and now Moira think that Cain may be the father of Charity's baby, why don't they get a siblingship DNA test against Debbie? If it indicates a half sibling, he's off the hook.
Oh yes, now I remember. All DNA tests undertaken must be impossible in real life, eg. from a sock.
Waiting for the implausible test against Megan somewhere down the line. She'd almost certainly come back as inconclusive, being an alleged half-Aunt only.

It was sold as " a scam to get Charity out
of prison early."As far as I am aware being
pregnant and/ or giving birth dont get
women an early release. Theres the usual
reduction in sentence for" good behaviour"
but that can apply to all prisoners.

Well he did need Brenda's signature to secure the loan, suggesting she must have some stake in, which they illgeally forged. David could blow the whole thing - not to mention Brenda's rage for giving more money to Carly.
David did say to Carly, as long as its legit he doesn't care. It's too late now but I wouldn't wanting David finding out anyway.

I really like that Joanie helping Belle with her studies! :) Hopefully Belle will put the focus on school now and get a really posh job. Always liked Belle-good actress too.

Well he did need Brenda's signature to secure the loan, suggesting she must have some stake in, which they illgeally forged. David could blow the whole thing - not to mention Brenda's rage for giving more money to Carly.
David did say to Carly, as long as its legit he doesn't care. It's too late now but I wouldn't wanting David finding out anyway.
Bob did need Brenda's signature for the loan, but would David know that? I seem to recall a marriage ceremony that wasn't legally binding. As she wouldn't have gained the stake in the cafe through marriage, Bob would have to have signed part of the cafe over to her or she would have to have bought in to gain it.
If it wasn't public knowledge, the don't tell Brenda conversation could work without David knowing that something was amiss.

Nope, me too. Sick of Sam getting the blame for it too - if he hadn't have said yes to the proposal, Jai would have said that made their relationship unstable, so whatever he'd said there, he couldn't win. If Rachel loses Archie it's her own fault for having a one night stand, letting him know he was the father and turning violent when he pulls these tricks. You don't know who they'll turn out to be if you have a one night stand, and in soapland, had she kept quiet about it, he wouldn't have even suspected that he could be the father.

No idea lizann, she never struck me as the hardworking type or the kind of person who would stick at something. Maybe she just thought it was a step up from market selling or whatever she was doing and/or still feels bitter towards Bob and wants to make him lose the cafe and possibly Brenda too.

I know I am in the minority but I find debbie Dingle not attractive enough for Ross and Pete. I hate Debbie Dingle she is the worst young female on the show. I wish Debbie had died instead of beautiful Katie. Both actors are so handsome they need a more beautiful woman to be their love interest. Debbie Dingle just seems so frumpy and trashy. I think Alicia, Leyla, Vanessa, or Pryia would of been better. I do not see the appeal of Debbie she is miserable and she just drags the show down

I don't like how she brings Sarah into everything like when Carl came round after they nicked his trucks she brought Sarah into it and after Chas find out about her and Cameron. She begged Chas not to use Sarah I'm sure she use it again. I find what she's doing with Ross is worse then what Chas did to her but it doesn't stop her.
I like Debbie-always have.
Like all the Dingles-my favorites. I hope they'll all be around for a long time-show wouldn't be anything without them or without Debbie.

Well acted scenes between Aaron and Paddy imo. good to view. Oh dear what a shame Jai made to look vindictive and petty in front of the custody hearing :crying: .Starting to look like a mass comeuppance period in Emmerdale
So the police don´t become suspicious that Jai turns up just as they find some drugs?? Getting sick and tired of this storyline, hopefully all will be resolved one way or another in a couple of weeks time :wall:

Robert cares about money and power more than anything else-that's his problem.
If he was ready to give up everything and be with Aaron, there wouldn't be all this drama..But this is soap, so we need loads of it! :)

The big confrontation in the Woolpack was totally ruined by the appalling acting of Louise Marwood (Chrissie Sugden)
I almost burst out laughing at it as it was so bad it was funny. IMHO it took away from what could have been brilliant television.
I sincerely ope that she is one of the Characters to disappear in the upcoming cull. She even makes Linda Lusardi look like a good actress

According to Metro 20/07 - Lachlan is
seething with anger against Robert -on
his mothers behalf - when he finds out
about the affair with Aaron.
He hears Robert & Lawrence arguing and
Lawrence promising Robert a lot of money
to leave village.
So he hatches the plot about the meds
- hoping Robert will be blamed and out
of their lives.
Thats their theory!
