It was great to see Stuart smack Martin. He so deserved it. Martin has no redeeming features now days, there is only two people to blame over Bex and that is Florence Sonia Nightingale and Martin Bonehead Fowler. Kush should be grateful Martin has broken up their bromance. the friendship is all one sided. Kush is better out of that one, especially when he is going for joint custody of Arfur.

i do think kush should have spoke up sooner to martin or sonia, i predict a dirty bitter custody battle for arthur with kat in the middle, team kushy or team marty

I loved Gray sticking up for Karen, he was not scared of Phillip. Ben and Tina teaching Kathy on gay tribes was funny. “Have you thought about a dark room?”

Martin is a plank. Kush go for joint custody, you will get it. Brilliant scenes at the end with Halfway and Ben. The Daran Little script was good.

Tony Clamp is playing the tormented Callum so well. I am glad they have given him something to get his teeth into. The scenes with Ben are very good.

The Kat and Stacey scenes at the end were old school EastEnders. IMO Arthur would be better off with Kush, Stacey better watch out as Kush at the moment is only going for joint custody , why not go the whole hog and go for custody!

Some good stuff going on in EE at the moment. It's just such a shame it's all being spoiled by this Mick Carter/Spice Girls competition nonsense. What a load of garbage!

Ruffed_lemur

I don't think Ben acting sad was very convincing, and I hope Callum doesn't have a fling with him. Just find it hard to believe as Callum seems to adore Whitney.

I know people do change and become gay, but it's really a boring story, shame as whit and cal/halfway were a nice couple:angry:

Nice to have Arshad and Mariam back, they are quality. Stuart and Ben in the Vic lavvy was a funny scene. It was good to find out more about Iqra and why the sisters came to the square.

Kim for me is LOL funny "The gays... They love their meat." :rotfl: Denise had got to sack Kim.

The end scene with Ben and Callum was well played and believable. My heart broke for Halfway when he said he felt alone.

It did make me smile at the end when Kathy said "Bobby." Well she had to didn't she has he had a new head and we did not have a clue who he was. :D

Another recast, EE must have the most recasts out of any soap.

A fairly decent episode, a mix of characters, the funeral scenes were touching with Bailey and the Taylor's.

The best think about EE right now is the range of characters being used. Kate Oates is making better use of the characters she has.

I like the Nu Bobby, a very subtle performance from clay, showing being frightened, awkward, guilty and out of place. I loved the scenes with Ben and Bobby.

So Lauren and Peter are back together, how long before they are back in the square with Peter with a new head? The Mick/Phil scenes in the Vic were well played and Linda's reaction in the Minute Mart when she found out Sharon had a bun in the oven was priceless.

flappinfanny
20-06-2019, 13:03
Line of Tuesday's episode goes to Sharon “Could murder some piccalilli!” :D

I am intrigued and am liking the Nu Bobby so far. A great Duff Duff, role on Tonight.

Lots of nice little nuggets, Denise going over to the Beale's in the Vic, under played beautifully. Ben seems more at home at number 45 with the Beale's than at the Mitchell's. Clay Milner Russell playing Bobby is a revelation and brilliant playing the awkward, nervous and unsure side of Bobby.

It was good Mo gave Stacey some home truths. A good duff duff, I think Bobby may have done this to himself? Perhaps a self harm storyline?

Good old Rainie. So pleased she fleeced them both. Serves them right. I am liking that we are seeing snippets of Grays story. It sounds like he had a sad time of it. Bobby being radicalized would be a brave move and an interesting story.

A pretty good Pride episode. It was lovely to see Bernie enjoying herself. Gray was great. Also I loved Ted. Where was Kim, she would have been there.

I do not care about Adam, Iqra or Habiba and care even less about Stacey. Go Go Go on maternity as soon as possible please and take Martin with you!

I enjoyed the scenes with Pride then switching to Ben and Stuart. Stuart has reverted to type and is no better than his revolting father Jonno.

So Ben was not beaten that badly after all. He looked half dead on Friday. I like the scenes with Chantelle, Gray and Mick. Stacey, Stacey, Stacey, Sod off. The old Kat would have slapped her from here to kingdom come. As much as I like the Ahmeds, those scenes were a bit rinse and repeat. Do I care about Habiba? No I don't!:cartman:

I am so disappointed in EE going down this route with Gray and Chantelle, I know it is soap and we can't have "normal" but Kate Oates has gone down in my estimation. It is going to be another Little Mo and Trevor. I know it is an important issue and needs to be raised but EE has done done this storyline. I was enjoying the couple being almost human and normal.

I did not expect or want it, I wanted to explore more about Gray's background

Gray and Adam were introduced as good decent family men and now bad

I am not happy about Ben's storyline also

Couldn't agree more, ff. Why could Kate Oates not just have left them as a nice decent loving couple? Why can no relationship ever be a good one? Why do soaps find it so necessary to resort to this?

How come Phil is only just remembering about the Slaters and the money? Shirley and Phil make a good team, excellent how they got England winning the Cricket with Ben.

I loved Max putting Saint Kathy in her place. Rainie was so funny running out of that hotel. So Jack has been arrested. Will Jack go down for GBH?

I see Jon Sen has got his name as Executive Producer finally on the credits with Kate Oates as Senior Executive producer, although Kate has a new role now as head of continuing drama across the BBC. I am sure Kate's name will stop on the credits if only to wind ITV up reminding them what they have lost. :rotfl:

That did occur to me as well. But then, EE is noted for its clunkingly obvious scripts that refer to things or people that have been forgotten for months or even years only when the person or story is due to come back as part of a totally different storyline.

So Karen is going on a date with Caran. Stacey hid the money in Arthur's potting shed.

Rainie and Stuart make a good pair. Will Tiff leave tomorrow? I thought it was funny Stacey could not careless about Phil's threats in the Minute Mart, she looked at him like he was a nasty smell under her nose. Honey made me smile in the Minute Mart with Karen, Honey is such a prude.

Stacey is playing a silly game with Max, steer clear. I did feel sorry for Martin, Kush is a good friend. I like Bailey cleaning up the streets and doing her bit for the planet. A shame they have taken this route with Gray. A good Duff Duff.

I missed the result of Sharon's test. Was it Phil after all? I just saw something about ' Alleged Father - Phillip Mitchell '.

Rainie and Stuart make a good couple, who would have thought a year ago a character like Stuart could be redeemed.

I am not 100% convinced Keanu is the Daddy, will there be a twist? Loved Bailey doing her David Attenborough bit. You just new Bailey was going to pick up that carrier bag. So we have another gun, who is going to get shot this time. Do me a favour! I just want Stacey to bugger off now, Martin deserves better.

flappinfanny
30-07-2019, 23:19
I have changed my mind, I am not liking the Karan story line right now. Lorraine Stanley is awful, embarrassing.

Martin would have killed Phil, pathetic really. I am not sure if it was meant to be funny but when Stacey smacked Phil on the head and we saw him in the pit at the end I was in hysterics.

On the whole a good episode filled with plenty of drama and plenty of miserable sods. The best bits Stuart and Rainie and loving the new Bobby.

They won't have them on Record for the Nu Ben.

Sheree is brilliant and going to ruffle a few feathers. I loved Linda being a bitch to Whitney, after their history who can blame her. The Honey and Ruby scenes were nice. Sharon was too camp even for Sharon and she can't cry for toffee. Max Bowden was the star of the show. A great duff duff.

p.s I agree we need Marsbar back.

05-08-2019, 23:42
Just another thought. I have been watching a series on Pick called "Britain's Most Evil Killers". It has been looking at some of Britain's most notorious murders and investigates the whole background to the case and the trial. In all of them, even after the police are fairly sure of the culprit, they take weeks, months even, sifting carefully through all the evidence, forensic, witness statements, background checks etc. etc. to make sure they arrest the right person and that their case will stand up. Obviously they should have just asked the Walford police to sort it all out!

Plenty going on tonight, I did smile at Mick doing his Madonna, Linda is being a bitch right now. She will regret it when Mick is ill. Why does Ruby have to apologise to Linda? Tonight I could have smacked Linda's sour face, saying that Kellie Bright is playing a blinder. She always delivers.

The Denise and Sheree scenes are fun and played well. Patrick is a dog with two dicks and will never learn. I loved how Ollie would not high 5 Mick. IT did make me lol. A pathetic Duff Duff.

The Eid scenes were good with Bobby and Iqra. Bobby's cake.

The scene with Honey and Habiba was moving and I think that is the best I have seen Honey in a long time. I dislike Ian by the episode, he is a jerk, we need Jane back. With Kush and Kat it is just sex, nothing more and finally Callum, it is all falling in to place why he did not want to return to the army.

lizann

I loved the mention of Pauline by Kathy, "Your Grandma Pauline would be so proud of you!" You forget Bex is a Fowler with all the Branning clan around. I love how EE is bang on the button when it comes to actual events like the A level results, although it was part of the Bex storyline. I have really warmed to the Ahmeds. I thought it was a lovely touch with Callum when his face lit up while reading those letters.

Is Honey going to do something to Adam while they are away. Perhaps she could turn into Kathy Bates? I do hope so! A nice scene with Max and Bobby. Funny how Bobby prefers to be around Max more than Ian. It is great that Stuart has now redeemed himself. Will he hear Mick's faint cry for help? Of course he will.

The Duff Duff was a surprise, a little too Hollyoaks for my taste, but I hope they do not live to regret it. I am not sure it is a good idea to have the Islam story running alongside Bobby's mental health issues.

The scenes with Mick were well done especially in the kitchen of the Vic. Lola gave Phil food for thought. Nice to see Bailey smile, that would have made a nice Duff Duff, showing the stars in the sky. I think Chantelle might regret giving the money to Bailey. I don't really care about Mel and Munter Hunter.

flappinfanny
24-08-2019, 12:16

Mel at the hospital with Sharon, taking the drugs and destroying the fish tank was so silly

flappinfanny
29-08-2019, 00:02
I did laugh at Mel cracking that fish tank, still not interested in the Mel/Hunter storyline. Charlie Winter as Hunter is not the best actor to be honest and is only eye candy for the tenny boppers.

I did like the Bailey scenes with Anita Harris and the bond with Keegan is lovely. The Jean and Daniel scenes were very good again and I liked the Mick scenes at the Dr's.

I loved the Branning reunion apart from Robbie. Patsy Palmer was excellent, I loved her putting Linda in her box. Everybody thought it was Whitney who was to blame.

The Hunter storyline is ott a cross between Emmerdale and Hollyoaks but it is very watchable. I also liked Lisa putting Phil in his place. Ben is like a punch bag, who is going to belt him next? Thursdays episode is going to be good if the trailer is anything to go by.

Phil keeps surprising me, it was touching when he referred to Callum as family. Line of the night goes to Whitney 'I just found out my fiancé likes spooning other blokes.'

I like Daniel and Jean together. “You bought shampoo for a woman with no hair!” Some brilliant writing.

Another jammed packed, well paced episode. Rainie can be really unpleasant when she wants to be. Bobby is only a kid. Why is Ian still letting her stay at the number 45. Probably Abi. I loved it when Bobby chucked that bucket of water over Ian, I think the whole country cheered.

The Jean and Kat scenes were lovely to watch.

Tamzin was very good again tonight, her pain was raw but not over the top. Clay playing Bobby is a real find, superb. A great Duff Duff, will the Beale house have a fire? Super Max to the rescue.

The only thing annoying me slightly are the Lucy voice overs, not sure it was needed, only my opinion. Apart from that EE is playing a blinder, easily the best soap on the box. Roll on tomorrow.

parkerman
16-09-2019, 21:51
So Rainie threatens Kathy about getting her more painkillers; Ben's painkillers just happen to make him sick; Phil happens to tell Kathy who happens to be in his kitchen; Phil throws them in the bin and then goes out.

Not enough coincidences for me. Couldn't they have added a few more?

flappinfanny
16-09-2019, 23:56
I thought tonight was a slightly weaker episode and they lost the pace a little. The Bobby and Kathy scenes were good. Rainie is a grade A bitch, but I do like her. Dean Gafney needs to go, he is the Kirk of EastEnders and does not bring anything to the show, apart from me wanting to throw something at the telly. I hope Bex does leave and goes to Oxford, at least we may get rid of her for a bit. Kelly Bright was also very good tonight.

Why is it that every time someone receives a phone call in Eastenders (or any soap come to that), they start off by saying, "whoa, slow down" or words to that effect? It happened twice last night and I really cannot imagine Callum gabbling unintelligibly when he phoned Ian, he just isn't the type to get excited in that way whatever message he is putting over. It seems to be, despite it never being convincing and even less so as the years go on. Phil as king Gangsta and Sharon as his glorified moll just doesn't work. It's why I hope Mel's plan succeeds, but the way its written is that even if Mel does succeed, in a few days Phil will be pulling wads of money out the Mitchell family safe as if nothing has ever happened.

Why have they wasted the wonderful Ahmed's, such a shame.

They need to stop bashing Ben, although it is compelling to watch, I think Ben did get some sadistic pleasure from it. I thought it was good how they mentioned the past with Martin and Jamie and also remembering Martin and Ben. You can understand why Ben is not so keen on salt of the earth Martin and we have to remember what a traumatic life Ben has had so far. The only person he felt close to was his gran Peggy.

Was I the only one who cheered when Stuart grabbed Kathy by the throat. So is Rainie going to do it? Will she die eventually? Lovely Kush and Jean scenes, Daniel faked his death for the sake of Jean. And finally it is lovely to have Dot back, even if she does not do much, being there is enough.

The best part of the episode were the scenes with Lisa and Sonia. Why did Ben not have any bruises from his beating? I love the side of Ben when he is being the father, the scenes with Lexi are lovely. The ending was random, it was as if they forgot to do an ending and thought this will have to do, cue the duff duff and music.

I am not sure if Janine is still the landlord of 31. I did smile at Mo hitting the fridge freezer. I like the dark side of Martin, they need to do something with Martin until Stacey returns. When Martin looked at Kush, it was as though he had given up on his family life.

I wonder if Rainie is coming out of the show for 3 months, Tanya Franks may be having a short break?

Let's hope Stuart is going to brain Kathy, perhaps he could also batter Ian.

A beautifully lite night episode, I loved the scene near the end with Whitney and Stuart. Outstanding scenes from the Fowler's. How does Gray know Leo?

Just caught on Mondays, Jean was funny in the Caf and Vic being honest. I cheered when Stuart and Kathy threw drinks and food at Ian. Is Ben going to get his comeuppance? I think he can handle Kush and Martin. He probably would like to handle both Kush and Martin at the same time but that would have to be a special set of episodes for EastEnders after the watershed, a little like "Hollyoaks after Hours." :o

The highlight for me was Ben dancing with Lexi.

Nice for Jay to have a storyline. Poor Chantelle, this is not going to end well.

Leo is bad news. I love the scenes with Mo and Muscles. :D

I did smile at Stuart in the Prince Albert, when he said they wanted to talk to him about baseball. "One thinks I'm a pitcher, the other thinks I'm a catcher." Kathy and Stuart together is funny. Not sure Tina would appreciate Stuart at the Albert, probably best he is moving to the restaurant. There is only the Chippy after that Stu.

The scenes with Karen and Chantelle were very moving. Leo is a nasty piece of work, on another forum they are wondering if Tony is actually dead, or whether they have done a Kathy?

Is Dot going to buy her house? I know EE is currently on Martin and Ben over drive, but I am loving their scenes, dramatic and funny at the same time. Jack as a copper is a nice touch and working well so far. Martin you are going to regret crossing Ben. I wonder if Ben might have ideas of throwing Martin off a bridge, now there would be the mother of all Duff Duff's.

Sharon made me howl with her opening line to Ben and Callum "I hope you’ve washed the sheets."

"Portugal is a great place to bring up a kid." Really Mel?

Maybe the producers have twigged that Phil is not convincing as a would be hard man and think Ben will be a replacement. Which is complete and utter garbage.

I like Ben's attitude as a someone who does not give a s**t about much, but I think Phil needs to take charge again, maybe do what Ben does, get some hench monkeys to do the naughty stuff?:searchme:

If anyone can put Ben on the staright and narrow it will be Pam. An unpopular opinion but I don't really care, I like Max Bowden and I love what they have done with Ben!

A good Halloween episode, EE always do Halloween better than the other soaps. Nice to see Mick and Linda have new costumes.

On another forum a poster described Kheerat as a bargain basement Michael Moon. Spot on. :D

I am glad Honey is waking up and smelling the roses. The sooner Adam is gone the better and as for Ian will somebody please punch him as hard as possible.

The best Halloween costume goes to Max.

1. How did Habiba and Iqra round up all those former foster children so quickly?

2. Are we about to embark on several more weeks of a soap not having the faintest idea how a local councillor vacancy is filled and what happens in a local election? Judging by tonight, it looks as though we are, as we were off to a very poor start!

I nearly choked when Louise said she was going to call the baby "phil." Adam has shown his true colours. My heart broke for Mariam. Both Arshad and Mariam have been under used which is a crying shame. Poor Honey she is really suffering.

I dislike Ian by the episode. He forgets he was once a hobo down and out and homeless. Poor Bobby having a father like Ian. Good to see Clay Milner Russell back as Bobby. His face says a thousand words.

Mel is really suffering in her grief, but she has crossed the line now with Lisa. I wonder how Mel leaves?

I will miss Mariam and Arshad, good characters underused with so much potential

When is Honey going to confront and dump Adam?

I think Mel may take Louise's baby as a Hunter replacement if she does not die or leave next week

Has Karen repaid Ben, does she know he is her loan shark?

I thought the Habiba scenes were silly. I loved it when Keegan hit Ian and I did laugh at Ian having two Lil-lets shoved up his nose. The weak link is Keanu, Danny Walters. Tamzin Outhwaite as Mel is so good right now. I am loving psychotic Mel, the sharon and Mel scenes were electric. Nice to See Bernie again, she needs a storyline. The Jay funeral scenes were a let down, I did not see the point.

Pam back with a nice new hair do. I am looking forward to the Ben and Pam scenes. Ian is a priced arrogant pratt, but I did like the scenes with him and Sharon. Max was hilarious doing his Churchill send up of Ian. Iqra is just brilliant at the moment and Bobby, Clay Milner Russell steals every scene he is in. I loved that short scene with Ben in the market. Lorraine Stanley as Karen is pretty awful right now.
