I hate Tiffany. Why bring the brat back and she can't act!

Compared to EastEnders right now Emmerdale is the National Theatre equivalent of Continuing Drama.

Yes. She is a stupid pain in the backside

Nice of Tanya to drop in for Abi's switch off.

Who takes Abi's baby? I do not want Jane and Ian to get her

Hopefully Lauren when she leaves.

Kim

Is it confirmed that the baby is leaving the show? I thought they might go down the road of Max having to raise the baby knowing that he has caused the death of both her parents.

If the baby is leaving I hope Tanya gets her.

I wonder if Lauren may reunite with Peter. Having lost her own sister, perhaps she'll feel she understands him going off the rails a little more and give it another go. (I did not watch so I apologise if I've missed any more details given about why they broke up.)

What a powerful episode. Well acted, some nice touches like having Rainie return, Jo Joyner's performance stood out for me, the look of disgust she gave Max was so powerful and perfect, no words were needed, pleased she allowed Max back into the room, but loved her rejection of him. Dot getting upset and not being able to fisnish her sentence when giving Abi the Teddy Bear brought a lump to my throat and the scenes with Jay and Lauren over the text was very moving. The credits at the end in black and no music was very effective.

The only downside to the episode were the Tiffany scenes. What annoyed me was the fact they turned TJ into an unlikeable character, just so we could like Tiffany. Is it not the job of Terry and Bianca to look at Tiff, TJ is only the step brother after all.

a bit late for rainie's healing stone

was anything done to max for stephen's death which he did contribute to unlike lucy's :p

The nation was cheering when Martin threw that flibbertigibbet out, they are turning Stacey into a Slater slut just in time for the clan to return.

I am liking Halfway now, a good addition to the Vic. A gormless Kirk like character but less annoying.

I see the gangster rubbish has returned. :wall:

Why is there no aftermath to Abi's death apart from a sentence or two from Stacey and Jay? This show is so terrible atm.

After staying away from eastenders for a year I decided to come back and see if the writing had improved. I actually watched the show for two weeks and then after seeing Max and Stacey going at it and all of the rest of the stories guess what I don't think you will see me again. I am sticking with Emmerdale where the stories are much more likeable as well as the cast. BYE.

Arshad and Mariam are pretty much the best bits of the show. Liking Halfway more and more. That teacher of Keegans was terrible for what she said to him, she deserved that brick thrown through her car window, i'd have thrown it at it. What a bitch.

think i agree with sonia about stacey even if martin is using the kids to hurt her

if the show was good id start a go fund page for the missing money to end that daft storyline

tammyy2j
25-01-2018, 12:16
Why is Stacey now calling them "her kids", she begged Martin to stay with her when ill and accept Arthur as his own which he did, he also accepts Lily as his, I think he is a good dad despite his foolishness barricading himself and the kids in away from her, she then tells Kush he should have her back and help with their son Arthur  and it is not about Max, hello she left her kids naivety play to go cheat on her husband with her ex father in law and destroy the family :thumbsdow

Dot and Sonia should kick her out, I cannot see her staying living with Sonia after their market slagging match

If Jay has not got the money then maybe Sharon, Donna or Michelle

I did smile at Masood in the Chippy trying to add some spice to Beales Plaice.

Shame Johnny has left, like Sam Strike before him, Ted O'Reilly wanted to leave to pursue other projects. To be fair the lad must have been bored stiff, they have hardly given him any scenes. He left on good terms so who knows if he or the character will return? Linda and Mick only have Ollie now.

Bernadette was funny buying those Brussels off Martin's store to give to Ted.

I think she took it from The Arches. There was that time that Ben returned to check that the case was still there, but he didn't check its contents. I think there was a close up shot of the padlock in that episode, which must have been put in for a reason.

Still not watching.

Missed the BBC's reply to my complaint coming in:

"That said, a programme which attracts as many viewers as this one inevitably appeals across a wide range of tastes, and it is impossible to please all the people all the time.

We of course hope that our audiences generally are comfortable and happy with our general approach - research and feedback suggests to us that this is indeed the case. We can therefore only express regret for any occasions when you've felt we should have done things differently."

Talking about the bodies when the fridges packed up, they've forgotten Abi again! I assume her body would be there by now; it would be against soap law for them to use another funeral director.

I should feel sorry for Billy, but i don't. I think it was out of character of Les going round all the funeral parlours to warn them off Billy. As for Honey, anybody living with that air head deserves a Duke of Edinburgh award.

So we have met Hunter. :P

I was amused by Karen getting all the Laundry mixed up. Seeing so many pants around in tonights episode, was that some kind of Metaphor?

I remember Steve Owen quite well. The late 70s and early-mid 80s was a time when my kids were very young and pop music passed me by as I didn't have the time to listen to it. But when Martin Kemp arrived in EE I started listening to Spandau Ballet to find out what I'd missed and realised I quite liked them in particular and the New Romantic period in general. I also thought that Martin made a good transition from singer to actor.

Stand out performances tonight, Emma Barton and Bonnie Langford. Billy deserves everything he gets. The Mel and Hunter scenes were good, the actor playing Hunter is a dead ringer for Steve Owen, a younger version.

Dislike Stacey more by the episode and dreading Kat coming back sticking up for the little bitch. Nice to see Jenna Russell again tonight. All in all a good episode. Loved Martin calling Max the ginger ferret.

Halfway is a brilliant character and under played beautifully. He is my favourite character right now. Halfway is far too good for Whitney and i just loved Donna putting Whitney in her place. What is she still doing on the square?

yes whitney brings nought to the show

Poor Abi even when dead at her funeral, Lauren makes it all about her and seriously where was she and little Louie going

How did Max get so fast from the hospital to the funeral church?

No mention of Carol, Jane, Lola, Ben and Oscar missing Abi's funeral also did Sonia, Robbie, Bex and Tiffany not attend?

On the positive side I thought Davood Ghadami as Kush was very good, he is a natural actor and he makes it look effortless. The likes of Coronation St could do with his talents.

I'm pretty sure he didn't. He held all the children in the house away from their mother, and 2 of the children aren't his.

Granted, but at the same time should Stacey be looking after 3 children on her own? The authorities should be looking into this and surely Martin would have a good case? As for Martin being on the birth certifcate, i am not sure?

I suppose it won't be a problem soon when the Slater brood return. It will be slag bags at dawn no doubt.

I am not sure what John Yorke is trying to achieve with the character of Stacey, but the way he is going he is making a once loved character one of the most hated and disliked in the show and with the current set of characters that is some achievement.

26-02-2018, 20:08

I think Aidan will continue his reign of terror and we will end up with a Who dunnit Serenio when he is found dead, battered over the head with his walking stick. I thought Danny Dyer was very good in those awful scenes. Jay is a bit of weed isn't he. As for Stacey I want to smash her face in everytime i see her chavvy face. 28-02-2018, 22:45
What did Martin do that was so bad, he never beat or cheated on Stacey, I do not recall the Slaters being so bad with Trevor and he beat and raped Little Mo  I want it to backfire for Stacey now and have Martin get full custody and also the house back, maybe Hayley will really fall for him even though I'd prefer him with someone new not Hayley, Stacey or Sonia, he deserves better

Those DNA results took their time by usual soapland DNA test standards.

To the poster who asked whether Martin is on Arthur's birth certificate, no he isn't. The truth started to come out when Kat found the certificate and saw that the father's name was blank.

Martin and Stacey could subsequently have lied and put Martin's name on it (as Martin would have needed to attend the registry office to be named, as he wasn't married to Stacey at the time of the pregnancy or at the birth.) I can't see them having done this though, as Stacey deliberately went to the registry office alone to register the birth (presumably to avoid knowingly making a false declaration of parentage.)

The Kat storyline is silly and not needed. However I did think the episode was very funny in places. This is how comedy should be done, Corrie take note!

There were some cracking one liners from Shirl and Mo. Mo to Ian: "There ain't no poetry in my folds." Mo to Ian: "Oh it's Mr Scotch Eggs." :rotfl: That meat in the Vic fridge Cow, Pork, Lamb? I am sure it had a heart beat with veins. It is enough to turn you into a lentil muncher. Mick to Shirl when he saw the meat "What is it Hippo?" :D

I don't know where to start to be truthful. I should hate the 2 episdoes and i did try, because (A) don't like what John Yorke is doing or trying to achieve and (B) i hate the thought of the Slaters being built up and brought back.

However Jean was very funny and played to perfection by Gillian Wright. If I had been Stacey I would not have forgiven Mo and certainly chucked the old cow out. In many ways it was sick, but i did enjoy parts of it. I would have liked Kat to have been under the table when Ian came round to give them the money in the biscuit tin.

Has EE turned a corner? No probably not, too early to say. I do think John Yorke is going to do as much damage to the show as Treadwell Collins did. Would i like Sean O' Connor to still be at the helm? Yes I think I would.

Stacey is coping it for all of them, the egg in her hair the slap, now Jeans lost all her savings because of Nan the selfish uncaring crook.

Terrible story line, if I didnt like to moan about soaps and telly I would stop watching.

Another weak epp where Martin washes Kats under krakers and Shaz and Michelle get plastered and out Hunter as Phyls son, hence why Mel dosent want Hunter pulling his sister.

Why does Kat not ask Jack and Mel for a job at the reopened club?

Did Mel and Sharon know each other well before? Is Phil after Mel again? I hope he is not Hunter's real father

Ok ... confused ... or do Londoners live on a different time warp ...... since when as Judith stated ... she was going to put Ted into a care home ...

1 ... Ted has a tenancy with the council .... she can't interfere with that
2.... he's not loopy .... just lost his wife
3... I can't see her spending pots of cash to put him in one
4.... he doesent have pots of cash to put himself into one
5... care homes are under too much pressure already to take in lodgers
6.... what's going on with the funeral .... she not prepared to help bury her mum ?

If Judith is after Teds money, he must of hidden it well.

I agree with above, its a crazy concept, but maybe she fears she will end up having to care for him. He has shown signs of mental instability, the gun etc.

The story line isnt helped by the weak acting of the ex James Herriot star bless him, but then it could be said the lines he is given to deliver would have many an actor struggling to deliver convincingly. He from my point of view was very good in Doctors as Mac.

So did Hunter bed Lou just to get at Phil?

Sick as that was as he seemed to make sure it was on CCTV, but isnt there a chance ou is his half sister?

But then the show seemed to be all about Kat telling everyone she should be forgiven because its her local pub .. well that an a night club based around a pokey little room and two green sofas

I know she is being tough and harsh and even cruel with Ted but I like Emma Fielding as Judith, so hope she stays on full time

Ted was also cruel back to her

As much I am not keen on the Slaters, how judgemental was Ian and Sharon  to be fair on Kat, she did not know about her funeral

Ah but all the Slaters are covering up for the vile entity that is Mo.. a women who just looks out for herself to hell with family but they seem to accept she couldnt give a monkeys about them yet still have her sorry ..''''. back.

Ah well ,, roll on the sausage surprise from Jean.. it wasnt funny the first time the writers slotted it into the script.

EE is just lurching between one poorly devised travesty to another. Its so frustrating as the talent is there to be used, but the characters they are basing this Slatter invasion on have Mo at their core which is such a weak nasty base to build on (full respect to the actress she just speaks the lines she gets)

If EE was a computer I would reboot it in safe mode, sit back let it run in dull mode so as not to loose any more avid viewers over the fact the show seems to be promoting .. well scum... bottom feeders may be a better term.. I felt sorry for the actress who after having Kat pull her hair in the Cafe had to eat a sandwich opened mouthed to camera so we could see her chewing it in her mouth in HD ... major yuck EE

I really miss the points of view forum, the BEEB hated my posts on there:cartman:

Agree Splashy, this latest Slater chaos is poor quality, exaggerated panto at best. I'm no prude but a lot of the stuff being televised is no longer family entertainment particularly with the regularity of violent incidents occurring virtually every episode. I'm totally for realistic gritty drama . But, Phil dashing down the street with a baseball bat to knock seven shades out of a 15 yr old skinny, who he would willingly have killed , ain't it.

Very touching scenes with Les tonight. Would have thought Jay could have let Les ride in the hearse with Joyce to the crematorium. Good touch from locals in the Vic. Looks like Joanie on the horizon for Les.

Liking the Karen an crew family more now than when they joined EE ,characters getting established I guess ,bit rough and ready, nothing wrong with that . Good to see Karen and Bernice arranging the wake . Bernice gaining in confidence and self-belief, due mainly to Ted.
