True, but Phil Mitchell doesn't sound convincing when threatening people these days either!

What was all that football coach nonesense. Glad we had Bev come back, I thought to start with she was a nasty piece of work, a good twist at the end, she was actually genuine for once. Sad really. Ashley McGuire is brilliant, I hope we have not seen the end of her. Would Hayley be better off getting away from the Slaters?

but was she taking cherry again why she drugged hayley?

Good point, I can't work it out? Why the card at the end and then cancelling the flat. I am confused.com

alfie thinks back to normal wooing kat and acting the usual idiot

flappinfanny
14-01-2019, 23:22
Why is Kat letting this happen. I was hoping we had seen the back of Alfie. :wall:

I did smile at Jean getting all hot and bothered over Huw Edwards. :D

The rest of the episode was a chore, especially with all that Evie nonsense.

what was the talk of a crash pile up on the motorway, who was that?

where is mel and hunter hiding?

where is jagger and his gang that work for evie, denny knows them as does tiffany

flappinfanny

I don't get the writing for Kat, it is all over the place regarding Hayley. A slightly improved episode. I did smile at Mo being described as a train when sleeping. :)

Dennis and his drone, now we know who was responsible at Gatwick and Heathrow. :nono:

Apart from the utter tedium of the football scenes...

1. When did Mick and Mitch get their DBS checks done?

2. What a great idea to play football in a street where there have been several accidents in the past with cars or vans mowing people down. Still thier luck was in as not one vehicle drove past even though they are in a busy part of East London.

lizann
19-01-2019, 09:48
what happened to dot kicking out stuart?

did hayley walk out in front of the mini bus van deliberately or just dazed and drunk?

flappinfanny

A slightly better episode on Friday. Hopefully next week EE will get back on track. I quite enjoyed the football match in the market. Has Hayley got postnatal depression? Sad scenes at the end wtih Doctor Legg. Dot will be devastated.

Apparently not ........ yet.

A better start to the week, this episode was well written. Jessie Wallace was excellent, loved her scenes with the boys. Ollie is so cute. Not keen on the football Mum, I hope we don't get many more scenes. Nice to see Sonia back tonight. Whether you like Stuart or not Ricky Champ is playing a blinder.

I think Stuart will save Dennis from the she devil's drug dealing ring maybe die a hero, redeeming himself

Dot could see Stuart as her second chance after Nick

How is Karen and the Taylor family ok with Louise and Keanu and also with Phil making Keegan approve?

Did Alfie sell his car to Phil but leave with it and the money he stole from the garage and where was the car hidden? Who takes Cherry now, Kat?

Wasn't the Capri a guarantee that Alfie wouldnt do a runner with Phils money?

Yeah Stu could save Menace but be done in by Phil who gets the wrong end of the stick when he finds out.

I doubt even one of 2.8 Lasers or even the ultra rare 3 Litre Tickford Capris are worth as much as that. Saying that, I did see someone advertise a 77 Ford Cortina and wanted 2500 for it.

I loved the scenes in the kitchen with Mo and Stacey talking about how people have faxed their own deaths. :D

Mitch and Bailey are growing on me. Excellent scenes with Phil and Kat. Natalie Cassidy has been on fire also this week. It looks like Stuart is going to be Dot's Nick. I am glad Kat has got the money, will she buy Pat's old house off Janine?

A good script from Daran Little. Some lovely comedy with Billy and Shirley. Denise looked amazing, some nice scenes in the Vic. Why was Kim in Edinburgh?
There must have been some reason why Tameka could not be in Albert Square, but a nice touch with the video message. Hunter is turning into a Psycho.

Jadefalcon
30-01-2019, 11:12
Hunter always has been a bit of a smarmy little git. He seems to think his mother should obey him as to who she wants to have a relationship with, his constant calling of Jack 'Action Man', while he does what he likes isn't healthy.

The way he treats other people in the square as if he is so damned superior. Mind Mel doesn't help there as he is her golden boy and I think Hunter could commit genocide and still be blameless in her eyes. If they were ever looking for someone to play the part of a young SS member he looks ideal with the total arrogance built in.

Tonight's second episode was writtren by Lorraine Newman.

Both episodes tonight were solid, infact a good week for EE.

Jay and Ruby work well together, Mitch and Bailey fit well into the Square. I don't feel sorry for Louise, a spoilt brat. Tamzin Outhwaite has been good this week.

Martin should ditch Stacey and chuck the whole lot of them out the house, I don't know how Martin puts up with it. He is so much better than Stacey and deserves so much more. I wish Pauline was here to sort them all out.

I did laugh at Phil with Sharon when he was not going to get his Oats, when he said he would sort himself out we know he was going to have a tommy tank.

So Tam and Nancy are going to get wed. Loved Ian getting soaked by the Slaters. The Hunter and Mel scenes have been compelling to watch.

Kathy looks younger than Ian. :D Memo to Kathy, Jane is Bobby's mum! With Bobby's return in the summer will we see Kate Oates trying to build up the Beale's again. Will Jane and Peter return. Kathy as the Beale matriarch? I don't see it.

Jessie Wallace put in another Stella performance. A good duff duff.

Ah right, sorry if it sounded a bit snippy but I just had the feeling there was a joke and I couldn't figure it out.

So is Keanu now camped out in the same place as Vincent waiting to be summoned back. (Yes I know he's apparently in Spain but with the way Phil slipped into wannabe Don Corleone mode you'd think he was at the bottom of the Mediterranean.

15-02-2019, 13:08
An okay episode, Charlie Winter as Hunter imo was good in those scenes.

Jean and Tiff were lovely and very touching with Dot dusting the picture of her wedding to Jim.

The rest was mediocre. Are we meant to care about Kathy and Masood? and don't get me started on Evie.

I forgot there was a second episode until the continuity announcer said at the end.

Part two and it is slightly amusing Jack really does not give a stuff about Hunter. This storyline seems rushed all of a sudden. I wonder if Kate Oates thought 'Sod it, lets get this over with?'

Kathy really does not like Jane does she? God help Bobby being stuck with Kathy when he comes out. I hope he finds that Hockey stick and bashes her over the head with it.

The Ahmed sisters is the same ole. I dislike them already! Similar to how Ronnie and Roxie were broguht in. Sorry but not very original.. Did we need to have them arrive in this episode.

Apart from that a good episode. A fitting send off to Dr Legg. Lovely to see Mary and Lofty. Sad to see Masood leave. I hope Mariam and Arshad are back soon. A nice ending without the duff duff.

It's funny Mary reminiscing when she left the square on the bus and stuck 2 fingers up at Walford, I can remember that episode like it was yesterday. I do miss those days, hopefully Kate Oates can capture this in a new era for the show. Fingers crossed.

Heartily agree, they are extremely annoying and while they don't know the circumstances it's very annoying that finding Dr Legg's pendant, their first instinct "Let's keep it'. I bet the restaurant will be run to hell, so I hope either the new owners of that share or Ian turfs them out.

Halfway (Callum) looks very fetching without his Benny hat. Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) has been rather good of late. I did smile at Martin giving Mick a kiss.

So we loose Dot, Mick and Linda for a while.

The Jean and Linda scenes were very good and worked well. There were some twists and turns in the Ruby storyline tonight. Part of me wished Ruby had chopped Ross meat and two veg off with a rusty knife. At least Martin has seen Matt for what he is, a sniffling little s**t. I hope Ruby get's justice. A good start to the week and a nice mix of characters. The scenes with Denise, Kim, Patrick and Mitch worked well. So Keanu is back. Danny Walters was very good tonight. Max Bowden has made a good start as Nu Ben, a very confident performance. He is nothing like the character of Ben, no glasses, contacts and no hearing air? It will be interesting to see where this goes. I wonder if there will be the same chemistry between the characters of Ben and Jay that Harry and Jamie had? And what is Ben and Lola's secret? Kim nearly breaking Rainie's foot was funny. Love the name of the Salon "Fox & Hair." However I think there must be a magic money tree some where in the square like there is in the Ginnel in Coronation Street, Patrick did not get that much money for his records. It must have cost thousands to open that Salon and who is looking after Kim's children while she is playing being Alexis Carrington.

Gillian and Rob are killing it, just superb as Jean and Sean

I have no interest in Ruby and Lola fighting over Jay

Great scenes with Sean and Jean, very moving when Sean shaved his mum's head and broke the tension by saying Jean had big ears. :)

EE are certainly firing on all cylinders right now.

Yes I thought that but that would be to easy for Billy to get a pic in his drunken stage, got to be that they won't believe him, poor Billy, would be nice if
he could meet someone who likes him for who he is.

Love the Sean and Jean scenes, you could feel the tension in Sean as he was building up to confess to Jean
Brilliant Enders

Powerful scenes again with Jean and Sean. Sad to see Sean go. Ben is unhinged, he needs a good kicking. I did feel sorry for Kim tonight. What is Chantelle and Gray's story going to be. I hope it is not going to be like little Mo and domestic violence. Mick is back.

I really enjoyed Sean's brief return, it was one comeback that worked, I hope Rob will return again and I hope Jean or Stacey mentions him in an update on his treatment

I can see Billy and Lola's plan to catch out Adam and Habiba backfiring

Ben is a nasty piece of work

I was impressed how they fitted the Royal baby along with the footy and Brexit in the episode I thought it was clever how they also included Louise in that scene. It was effortless and very effective. Well done all concerned.

A solid episode tonight, there was nothing I did not like. Jay listen to Ruby. The Dinah scenes were so sad. Seeing little Bailey being all grown up and adult about it breaks my heart. So Phil knew about the human trafficking. Terrible. Disgusting.

It was only a very brief sighting, but when Kathy read the paper offer on her necklace, it said, "Amount With Provinence: £250,000....Amount Without Provinence: £100,000".

I would have thought that someone at the BBC might know the word is provenance!

Who did she sell the necklace to?

Was that from Ciara or Aidan's stash of stolen jewellery?

My heart broke for poor Bailey, clutching her mum's top was so sad. Strong performances all round and mixed in some nice humour with Kush, Kat, Stacey and Martin.

Is Ben and Callum going to have a fling?

So Ewan returns, deep down Lola believes him about Ben. The Jay and Callum scenes were very good. Tanya Franks as Rainie plays the part so well, I hope the character stays around. The only poor scenes were those with Bex. Sadly she is the weak link along with Louise who was not in this episode. Karen slayed it again, quality stuff.

Ben does have a conscience? Kush and Kat? Kush would not look twice at someone like Kat, a knackered old bird slightly past her sell by date. Carmel would be having kittens if she was around.

I did smile at the Carters scenes with Shirley, Tina and Mick. Shirley being horny is quite scary.

I wonder what would happen if the scriptwriters were told they mustn't use any of the following plot devices.

1. No more burnt dinners
2. No more running out of milk and having to go out to the shop
3. No more just happening to overhear a conversation they weren't supposed to hear.
4. No more seeing something by chance and getting the wrong end of the stick
5. No more traffic hold-ups when driving somewhere in a hurry
6. No more returning characters with a secret
7. No more surprise pregnancies after just one....er...you know

Would it mean the end of soaps as we know them?

Not convinced there are enough Gay residents on the Square for Kathy's plan, although there is Tina, Bernie, Ben, "confused" Sonia, and maybe Gray????

As for TEd, think considering he is the only visible resident on the Square aged over 50 (no sign of Dot, Patrick, Cora) it's a mystery why, when considering the older age population in the UK is increasing, (not according to Walford!!)
is he going to be the new busybody, watching people and getting the wrong end of the stick in the Square
Older people are lonely and just looking for some purpose, bring on the new eccentric aulder fella!

Beside me there is an older chap who stops and loves to gossip, he has kept me well informed on the neighbours!

However Walford is a borough in the Eastend and surrounding boroughs would perhaps come to "The Prince Albert."

I am on Stuart's side, Martin blaming anyone but himself and Sonia, they are the parents pushing Bex to Oxford and Max leading the charge with a pitchfork why now showing an interest in Bex?

Karen and Kim were great, love those characters

Ben and Callum, where did that come from?

Denny better hide from Karen

It was great to see Stuart smack Martin. He so deserved it. Martin has no redeeming features now days, there is only two people to blame over Bex and that is Florence Sonia Nightingale and Martin Bonehead Fowler. Kush should be grateful Martin has broken up their bromance. the friendship is all one sided. Kush is better out of that one, especially when he is going for joint custody of Arfur.
