At work dealing with some payroll and HMRC issue from 2013/14 where an ex employee is on the system twice!! Means we have overpaid but the way HMRC dealing i feel as we have to sell the clothes on our backs to sort it out. Really stressful. They are ringing me in 5 mins hopefully matter can get sorted before i close the charity in a couple of months. Do not want them hounding trustees.
On the racing there are now going to be track kids. Its all to do with this sexual harassment stuff and they want to be careful.

Track kids less vulnerable to sexual harassment than adults?????????????????????

Americans have taken over F1 and are making radical changes already to suit an American market, I fear they want to go back to the bad old days of massive adverts breaks during the race, the thyre already going to use back ground music???? Plus theyve booted out the track girls and no dout cheer leaders will be coming to town.

that pre race thing in the US last year was so bad.. it was embarassing!! As for track kids, I don't like this either. Grid girls gave their consent to be there. The kids will probably belong to the rich folks. Bring on the grid fans!! Ordinary people who actually enjoy F1 holding the flags.. Then they will be of any age, sex, creed and satisfy all this PC bull****

Came at the wrong time for our lot to notice. Half term holidays ,grand kids ,noise, the house foundations already shaking. :) Talking of which how the youngsters get an education nowadays is beyond me, another four weeks and they're off again. I'm sure we never used to have so much holiday time. Mind you a portion of chips and batter bits was 9d then, in the newspaper of course. :)

What a day!! first of all I am trying ( so far to no avail) to delete my profile from a site specialising in parish records. I have asked them twice and they tell me they can't delete as they have no membership details ( WHAT A LOAD OF NONSENSE:wall:). So today I have asked them if there is a facility on the site to delete it. Got 2 interviews next week one volunteering for a local Citizens Advice, the other is at an opticians, finding a job has been one MASSIVE uphill struggle, so I hope this time there will be a more positive outcome.

HMRC emailed to say there had been a change to my TAX... an hour later in panic I managed finally to log in to my HMRC account to see that I would pay 60 quid less tax next year and not be as I feared sent to prison.

My advice... do not go paperless with the HMRC.. I could of read the letter in seconds and not think for an hour that I was too pretty for prison and that it would only end up one way even without having to drop the soap in the shower.

On the positive land ladies school is shut Thursday so shes having a snow day, however Im very dubious we will get any snow.

Down here it is raining on snow and will be sub zero again after 3 am followed by heavy snow through Friday, if I lived anywhere that that was happening I certainly would stay indoors till the thaw on Sat.

Re the boiler, its probably that the intake/outlet is fozen and has caused the issue so ironically a thaw will fix the issue, but it still means Im freezing right now. :cartman: (well not as much as rough sleepers who my heart goes out to right now)

Well what a week!! Having spent endless minutes trying to get through to a customer service agent of a well known health food shop, I FINALLY closed my loyalty card with them. My reason? well there is a health food store in my area which saves the bus fares travelling to this one., when I collected my order I could not understand the del note at all. So I e mailed them and tried to explain things. Yesterday I got an e mail with a reference number, and they told me they would get back asap, 'can't wait that long,:( so I spoke to someone via their webchat on their site to tell them i had managed to sort my problem out, the agent was very helpful and would let them know. i asked for an e mail to confirm my message, so NOTHING!!! My GAD is really bad today as a result of so much worrying.:crying:

My Bus popped two tyres on Friday bringing me back from tut shops... good old pot holes,, they have taken out two buses that I know of now (and no it wasnt because I was fat and broke it) :moonie:

Had to be on a day the local school kids where doing there cycle training, I spent 20 minutes walking down the street explaining to them the bus was broke and wouldnt come mow them down.. one said cheers mister... never been called mister before.

Local dog nut then had her rather large dog try and jump up at me when I crossed the road, I mean I love dogs and this one was a cutey, the owner not so much, more an arrogant cow who wouldnt engage with me when I suggested that her and her huge untrained dog should maybe not be close to the children on their bikes. In my books there is no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners.

So Trump has started on his new mission of annoying the world in support of everyone being tooled up with a gun, well except for when he is there giving a speech and no one can come in with one. But expect him to get a world peace award soon, I mean it is said that NKs weapons got wiped out in land slide hence the sudden change in tone from them, but lets praise the man who nearly caused ww3 via twitter anyway.

We live in an age where we are bombarded with news to the point we dont grasp what has happened before we get other news we dont get time to grasp. Its all very depressing, May carrys on in power as Rudd takes the bullet for her crimes as home secratary.. silly lady was taken down by someone in her party who propped her up to be shot then released the dogs. Her downfall was marginal election figures and that she was n obvious threat to May.

Had bad night called the samaritns.

My husband has had his 3rd heart attack. Thinking he just had a chest infection and bad cough, I took him to the urgent care centre and they sent him to A and E. Four days later he s still not home. In 24 hours they have moved his bed 3 times in the same ward.
I took my daughter for a scan today and fell asleep in the waiting room. I am so exhausted.
Had new lawn turf delivered and moved each one myself to the back garden when my husband was in hospital....ready for the gardener the next day. After all that the gardener went AWOL and i later found was arrested.
So my brother and son did the lawn the best they could. It is not entirely straight and is a bit bumpy but in the scheme of things i could not care less. It was nice of them to do it.

On the count down till my move to the Island.. made the mistake of getting TalkTalk to provide my internet there, so far they have the wrong email address for me so I never got any details of the line number etc or even if it was going ahead and they werent able to send it by post or amend the email address! Now they have sent all the router and stuff to the flat on the island even thou I told them to send it here as I am not there till the 27th. They use UK mail and you cant speak to anyone on the phone so they just keep trying to deliver this stuff to a flat that will be empty till the 27th. On the phone or by text chat they just keep telling me the stuff is at the local post office, well the local post office hasnt got it nor do they ever deal with UK Mail!

I got put on hold for thirty minutes as I dared to ask which post office I should be rushing too to get my stuff.. Ive learnt that when they call you back like she did then put me on hold unless you disconnect the call they cant, I put her on hold telling her I had to walk the dog, for 30 minutes she got to listen to neighbours till I disconnected her..Im sure she must of enjoyed it.:cartman:

Loved being on the island again, found a typical island sandwich bar that charged me £3.90 for a small baguette filled with tuna and two slices of cucumber.. which was fine as I took an hour eating it at one of their tables waiting for my appointment at the letting agent and his name was Steve, and turned out to be a right tool When you meet the likes of Steve you just cant stop inwardly sighing. The second I signed his forms he wanted me gone, even tried to usher me out another door blocked with rubbish placed from the flats above.. he only moved it after I gave him one of my withering stares and didnt move.

Cant see the letting agents rejoicing that I rent one of their flats, I have already lodged two serious complaints on day one. The guy Steve tried to ignore my calls, but I will always keep on ringing and its only a 20 min bus ride to see him in person. I did tell them Im a landlord myself so I know the business, if they didnt listen thats up to them.

But oh boy I love the flat.. well I love the island .. it was always about location location location...I was spending hundreds on hotels being on the island last year and now I have a base on the island I can cruise around it at leisure and them come home.

The tables will turn Splashy when some of those shopkeepers realise your a resident on the Isle and not a tourist. Incidentally got a suspicion I've had that days special dished up at one or two pub lunches in the past. Certainly the ale served could quite easily have been yak pee. :)

Yesterday our local walking football team had it's annual day out to the coast and a great day had by all , lots of laughs. Should point out we're all knocking on a bit, youngest 69 and the oldest 91, don't all play, but a good coach load with wives and friends. The journey was 70 miles , had the obligatory two stops on the way, hats off to the coach driver his sat-nav must be full of toilet stops.
On the down side never realised how viscious the seagulls have become ,saw two people attacked and food snatched. Heaven help any youngster attacked, innocently eating an ice cream , end up in hospital. How the local authorities tackle the problem ,I don't know.

I know that as they kept sending me text after text to remind me..7.13am call "hello sir we dont deliver on Wednesdays only Tuesdays and Thursdays" half asleep me "sorry what" may have expressed myself in a kinda adult manner to the fella "so I have to waste another whole day waiting for you because you couldn't of foreseen that a delivery to me couldnt happen on a Wednesday until the actual delivery day?" I pointed out to him that they called themselves the Expert Team and yet they seem very far from that..a normal person giving up a whole working day for a delivery was bad enough, expecting them to give up a second day because of their **** up was another .... grrrrrrrr

When working in HR I used to tell staff not to post anything negative about their work, colleagues etc on social media and also to be careful who they confided to in person, a friend one day can soon be an enemy the next ... So many were astonished when I told them they could be sacked for bad-mouthing their place of work, boss, colleagues on social media, even if their settings were on Friends Only ..

The consultant does not get the fact that pets are like family. I don’t know how i am going to cope with this night time dialysis 7 days a week for the rest of his life. Had to chuckle coming home, the Cowes Chain Ferry has broken down again, right on the busiest week of the islands life. The queue for the replacement boat was huge when I came across... Its a shame, they paid a million quid for this thing and it just isnt fit for purpose, yesterday it wasn't working because it ran aground.

Just when I thought I could manage weight loss alone, it turns out that I can't. So I headed off to my local Slimming World. I was a nervous wreck when I walked in, I had to wait some time before the consultant started her talk about how the plan works. I have lost half a stone so far and feel better for it:cheer:

Also my Dad has been put into a care home, he's been diagnosed with Alzheimers, he's gone down hill since my Mum died back in April, they were married for over 60 years, he's lost without her which is perfectly natural. I have to travel up to Edinburgh to see him, but its worth the journey.

Ok so our office split into 2 nearly two years ago now and when the admin team left they took all the christmas decoration with them. I love christmas and I love decorating my office desk and my home. Last year I was in an office with 2 others who also love christmas so I got load of decorations for all our desks. They were cheap and tacky but did the job and we loved them.
This year I got the decoration out and ready but I came into office today to find someone had used my decorations to decorate my office. I was really annoyed as they 1st they took my fun away (oh btw I add on the time spent decorating to end of the day so I don't waste work time) and 2nd they used my decorations that I paid for and put them where they wanted them to be.

Am I right to be annoyed??

Nah ..its your property, your fun. Not right for them to mess with. I would have a quick trawl i the local pound shop see if there is anything christmasy in their that you can place on your desk to cheer you up.

Pyro, my aunt is in a care home, best place she can be, she is loved by us visiting her and looked after brilliantly by professionals.

Its December, it can only mean one thing, Christmastime. Last week I dusted off last years Advent Calendars, they do look pretty, also bought another Advent Candle, ( Care and fire awareness has been taken to keep it away from fire prone objects. Spent most of the weekend signing Christmas cards, I have done quite a few so far, going to post them off this week. I have also baked ( my first and I might say best) a Slimming World Christmas cake ( the recipe is on their website) result? one brilliant cake!! :cheer: 10 syns per slice. However the Christmas pudding was not so good, water got into the mixture:thumbsdow ( via the pressure cooker and the fact the bowl wasn't sealed with string properly)and it resembles a delflated flying saucer:angry: Luckily I have some spare mixture left so will attempt a second one and add some stout to it ( left it out) however this time I will put the water into the pressure cooker afterwards and then steam it!! Here's hoping for a less deflated pudding!!

If you speak to them first in French, even just saying Hello, they are more responsive. I thought my kids how to say "Excuse me, do you speak English(german)" and we had a great time with them

What to apologise for my lack of interaction on the board of the past few months. I started a new job at the beginning of May and have been finding my feet. At the end of May my sister died and due to some long waiting list in the hospital they didn't release her body until the end of June. Her funeral as on June 28th, which I couldn't attend as it was 2 days before my bday and I had plans with my children. It was suppose to be live streamed but that failed and I only got to see the recording last Friday. This was the 1st death in my immediate family and I had a really hard time coping with it and still have but it is getting better.

Phoned a landscape gardening company a week ago to ask the to give me a quote for trimming the hedges, so after a quick chat they said 'Yes ok we'll see you on Friday at 2pm. I eagerly awaited their arrival ( having done chores and shopping early). 2pm came and went, I rang them and left message, no return call, so in the end I wrote an e mail asking them what had happend. Result I am not happy!! talk about service with a smile???? ( there isn't one):thumbsdow. On a happier note my family ancestory project is really coming along at the local library, (a local family history group meets there once a month ) I am doing my Dad's side, can't wait to discover more about where they lived and worked.:cheer:

I thought it was hot here in Penrith on new years eve, when it was 46.3 degrees Celsius. Well, today (Sat) it is 48.9 C - the hottest day ever recorded in Greater Sydney (& it was supposedly the hottest place on Earth today!). And there is still the bushfire threat in the Blue Mountains & the South Coast etc. (48.9C is equivalent to about 130 Fahrenheit!). I have had the air-con on as well as the ceiling fans & it is still stifling hot inside at 7:30pm. Unbelievable!

I was asked to do a coronavirus plan yesterday for the nhs service i run in case the virus spreads. I am just so worried about my husband. He is highly vulnerable after a stroke. He does not go out but he has a few different carers coming in. All go on public transport in london. I just happened to work from home today and saw that they do not follow care agency instructions.

Disinfect specs ,mobile phones before and after being out ,keep mobile phones covered when out, better still don't use it if people are around you. So for my friends in the UK and elsewhere that are hearing and asking about what is happening over here in Spain. This is the reality...

Yes we are in total lock down - quarantine...

What does that mean?

*Well everything is closed apart from pharmacies, supermarkets, petrol stations.

*All bars and restaurants and shops are closed.

*We are not allowed to leave the house unless it's to buy food or an emergency.

*We are not allowed more than 1 person in a car.

*We are only allowed to walk our pets within 50 metres of our house and a just you and your dog or dogs. You cannot be walking with another person .

*We are not allowed to just take a walk or a bike ride to get fresh air.

*All children's outdoor parks are closed as are schools. Beaches are closed.

*In supermarkets you cannot enter unless you are wearing gloves and put sanitiser on. They are provided at the door.

*At the pharmacy tape 2m apart outside door, only one person can enter at a time and only go 1m away from the counter (I actually got my meds passed to me via a huge fishing net, having dropped my prescription in there first. Payment was made via the fishing net too).

*The majority of us have suddenly found ourselves with no work.

*In supermarkets and queues we have to stay in single file with a 2 metre distance between each person.

*Many hospital appointments have been cancelled.

*Medical centres and doctors surgeries are closed except for emergencies.

*There are hefty fines if you do not abide by the rules.

*We have police patrols and the military out and about enforcing these rules.

Even under these conditions we are still able to communicate with each other via the phone or internet. A telephone call or a message can go a long way to show someone they are not alone.

Some of us even communicate support for all the service workers who are currently serving us still; often under extreme conditions.

Such as the hospital and medical staff, those on duty at medical centres and surgeries, the police and the military, the politicians searching for solutions and the researchers testing and working to create a vaccine.

This support is communicated via applause, whistles and the banging together of saucepans or lids, at a designated time each night with people going into their gardens, or onto their balconies or rooftops if they are able to.

So you see it's not all bad.........people are supporting each other as best they can.

Be safe and do what you are asked to do to minimise risk to yourself and others.

YOU may be OK ....what about the person you are standing next to?

If you are healthy and fit ask yourself what can you do to support those in your community who may not be, or indeed are not?

#socialdistancing .........it works to slow down the spread, to #flattenthecurve

I have to keep logging in and attempting and going to advanced posts or something. I have been trying to post so many times I gave upon the site.

I thought that this was just happening to me! (& thought maybe it had something to do with me being way over here in Aust!). This has been happening to me for quite some time. It keeps logging me out when I move between posts or forums etc, but most annoyingly when I am in the middle of posting something. Also, sometimes you finish typing & go to post it & it says you are not logged in & hasn't saved what you have typed, so you have to start over again. If you try & save/preview your post as you go along, sometimes it will save it & other times it won't & say you aren't logged in. Sometimes the auto save function saves some of the post & other times it doesn't. A while back, after one of my posts was rejected, I contacted the administrator, as it suggested, but I never received a response. Like you swm66, I am finding this most frustrating, especially when you are in a hurry & want to post something quickly. I have been persisting so far in the hope that things will improve, but I can see why others would eventually want to give up (but I hope that it hasn't turned others off posting).

Just had my first dose of the Covid 19 vaccine. It all is fine. If you get a chance to have it please do. Doctors and nurses were all queuing up for it today.

I used to enjoy reading a magazine from the USA that I subscribed to not anymore, it appears they decided to aim for what can only be described as extremely disgusting etc, not to mention 🤮and 🤢. I e mailed the editor, his reply was rather feeble, he told me that the artist's picture for their winter edition had been approved, its disgusting!! why didn't they ask the readers what they thought instead of just making rash decisions there and then ( of course they forgot silly idiots). Well as a result I asked for a refund for my subscription for 2021, its been paid today.

The artist needs to check into a clinic for the deranged and ignorant and as for the editor he needs brain cell replacement!! I would not recommend this magazine to anyone its awful.

Its been a very unhappy day, been very poorly, had an awful Christmas too, 2020 has been a terrible year for all of us, here's to a more positive 2021!!

I am sorry for not mentioning the name of it but it was one about a pop group who are still around today after so many years, but with fewer band members than before, the cover was the sort you would associate with the painter Alma Tadema, I became very upset when I saw the cover and actually 🤮 all over the magazine,👍🏽. I am glad to have unsubscribed from this magazine.

I am glad you approve, I believe in making sure my comments keep their distance from mentioning well known pop groups, ex employers names 👍🏽, that way nobody gets angry.

Only ever had 2 migraines in my life, horrible, hope you get rid of your's soon. They say lavender oil on your temples or a bit of a spray on your pillow can work but never had to try it so not sure how effective it is

So I quit my job at end of September due to mental health reasons and today I got offered a job that I wanted. I get to build websites just on the user end and it is with a big company so good prospects. I had 2 jobs that I would have loved and this is one of them. The other cancelled my interview at last minute due to lock-down. This one had a zoom interview and I had to do a test before hand. I can't wait to start!

My first full 40 hour week in 7 years. I am exhausted. Very strange not to be finished at 1pm and then have rest of day to cooking, cleaning and shopping. Have to plan everything in advance. Luckily working from home so the commute is not a factor for now.

It will be tough on you for a while getting used to working those hours, at least you do not have to commute to and from work. I am sure you will be getting organised in no time and find your new routine. I wish you all the best :)
