Alas Davy boy Cameron has now said he is going by October, I dont blame him, some other mug now has to sort out this mess, but I have to say I would prefer Boris over Teresa May or chancellor bloke.

Farage is getting all the PR, seemingly all the far right nasty parties in Europe are praising us!

If ever there was a sentence to send shivers down my spine... :(

Remember people, spread your money around, only the first 75 grand in your bank is guaranteed by the government when the banks all crash and burn... Im a cheerful fella me.

I've got no money to lose so I'm OK... :p :ninja:

I expect Scotland to be clamouring for independence more strongly than ever now, and I can't see them saying no to leaving the UK after this.

The only positive I see this morning is that negotiations to leave the EU will take at least two years. Who knows what will happen in the meantime?

:D Im sure you own billions in gold bullion , very wise :D

Which ever way you look at it its a mess. I feel ashamed to be in a country that seemingly voted on a "you cant come here " sentiment. Yet we go there and will now possibly not be welcome as non EU citizens and there is already talk of borders going back up between Northen and the republic of Ireland and those in Ga
Gibralta must of been screaming as this will give Spain more reason to make their lives a misery than they already do.

I never vote Labour but I do blame Corbin for this, his apathy and lack of charisma and leadership was outstanding. I cant see him lasting long now, there is already a petition of MPs trying to boot him out of the job.

Today I am mostly learning to speak Dutch

I usually very much support Corbyn but feel really let down by him today. He can be a strong leader in my opinion, which makes me think he just didn't want to be this time. There's many other reasons this happened (mainly Farage whipping up anti-immigration fervour), but I didn't expect any better of them. :thumbsdow

Your right of course...I blame Corbyn as labour have screwed over my birth city at a council level. but thats a whole other issue not his fault or really his parties, but Im human and hold irrational grudges :ninja: (they knocked down my beloved ice rink and saved a boring theatre instead, its over 20 years ago now but the pain lives on)

Yeah Farage.... who has he got the mud on that let him get so much air time? An unelected geezer with an anti imigrant policy despite being married to an imagrant from thr EU who he employs as his PA despite his speel of british jobs for british workers.

Nicola Sturgon sp? pouncing on another chance to get another Scotish leave vote.. oh comon lady, your oil wealth is running out and you would be at the back of the queue to join the EU after Turkey.

I just had a shower in a non EU shower but I still feel dirty.

Cameron gambled and lost. There`s no shame in losing, but Cameron is his own worst enemy. Somewhere along the line his spine turned to jelly.
I must say I am very impressed with Ruth Davidson with what I have seen of her so far. She was wonderful at the debates earlier this week. Boris Johnson treated her appallingly, but Ruth stood her ground. Britain could do far worse than have her as the next PM.
Just my opinion.

Check out what house prices are right now, they may go down later and market bit rocky right now as people scared to invest as not sure what Brexit impact will be. Thats what some money programme was saying anyway.
When its a home i always think with my heart not my head though.

As for grandparents people are lucky to have them around. I never grew up with any as both sets were abroad all my life and felt the loss.

Its looking brilliant, brand new windows. new carpets, new plumbing. electrics and painted. Kitchen is half complete and the bathroom ready now to have shower toilet basin and washing machine installed. Im not chasing the contractor about doing this fast as another issue is extending the land lease back to 125 years, thats already cost me 2 grand with a potential further 8k to follow that. But until thats sorted I cant sell it anyway, well I could for a lot less than I will get with 125 years on the land lease. Its all a huge con, Im actually paying for the land owners costs as well as my own and then I have to pay a lump sum on top of that as compensation.

.

What I do know is if I sell it the buyer will be a person who will instantly rent it out The property couldnt be better located, nice gardens with access to macdonalds, Lidl, tescos, cash machines, busses to all parts of the city just across the road. On average I used to get letters from estate agents every week asking me if I wanted to sell. Im veering towards renting but using a management firm, it will be amusing thou as the first thing my stalker will try and do is rent it. (thats another tedious splashy story :cartman:)

The man in his day was an evil genius, still makes me chuckle that he blocked off the final chance for others to get pole over him at Monaco that time by accidentally crashing at 1 mile an hour in turn one. Its why I also like Alonso, he screwed over Hamilton by staying longer in the Pit than was needed to ensure Hamilton didnt have time to complete a final lap in qualies.

But then the only co team driver Hamilton didnt hate was Jensen and even he moaned about Lewis being aloof during off season.

So who remembers Ray Brooks, the voice of Mr Benn and Joe Macer, husband and murderer of Pauline, in Eastenders?

Well, he's doing a one-man talk show at my theatre on 16 September and he's just asked me out to lunch during the day. Lunch with an EE celeb, eh? :)

I did'nt know he did the Mr Benn voice. I love Mr Benn

I had a lovely day out in clacton on sea last week. Took a whole load of older people on a coach as part of my voluntary work. Its such a laugh. . The beach was packed out. I nearly did'nt go as my husband had a heart attack a few weeks ago. But he is on the mend slowly but surely. I was so tired though so it was good there were lots of benches to sit down on everywhere On top of all that i just found out i am diabetic which is a shock thats probably why i was feeling so tired. Life without sugar is hard especially as i love chocolate. But i am following all the right guidance

Awww I am so sorry to hear about your diabetes diagnosis and that hubby had a heart attack, glad he is on the mend and that you got the right guidance to live with your condition. Did you see parkerman at Clacton on Sea? Hopefully you can go on more trips like that as you obviously had a fab time :D

Missed your earlier post Parkerman re. Ray Brooks. Should be a very interesting guest at your theatre. I don't know how many remember in the 60's he played the husband to the actress Carol White in a TV drama called "Cathy Come Home" written I think by Ken Loach. Told the story of an evicted family who eventually had their children forcibly removed by the authorities. Viewing figures around 12 million. Caused absolute outrage with the public and questions for politicians. Too close to reality I guess.
Remember him in EE ,has some very interesting views about the show ,allegedly, :)

It is hard out there. One of my friends was made redundant about six months ago and she kept getting rejections. She is highly qualified and skilled and it made her lose her confidence. Last week she finally got a job. It is a big relief as it was awful seeing what it was doing to her.
Unfortunately right now it could happen to anyone as the job market is not secure and no job is safe. Wsh you all the best and i admire you for all your efforts.

The nurse Nicked some of my blood today.... I used to give blood so needles arnt an issue, but the skill of the nurse doing it always impresses me. Any way I only have to wait over a month to find out the results as thats the earliest appointment I could get at my new surgery :ninja:... not their fault, I blame the tonkers who dont turn up for their appointments and dont get fined for it. They should be sent to the naughty seat.

Darn solicitor is demanding £750, that makes a total of 3 grand so far, all to extend the land lease back to 125 years, its all a con.. thou it will cost a total of 10 grand by the end it does add 30 grand to the value of my property if I sell.

Refurbe is looking great, new galley kitchen is almost complete and the new windows are lush.

Still need to repair the front door from when upstairs tools had it kicked in my the firemen because "they thought I was dead" Id left for here but they didnt hear my telly for TWO days after never worrying about me for 5 years or even seeing me or speaking to me despite me posting a contact number thru there letter box a while back when they leaked water into my flat and never paid for the damage.

It cost me £200 initially from a locksmith company the firemen used to secure the flat after they kicked the door in, I didnt ask for any of it but paid as I didnt want to appear on wont pay well take it away.. plus it was nt the firemens fault that the people above are cretins.

Went looking for a new bed today, found one but thats £700 quid gone, the head board alone was £200.

I've recently found some great bargains for my new home, including a reclining chair, some beautiful quality wooden folding chairs (because there's no room in my tiny house for enough seating for when my whole family visit), a TV stand, a hat stand (which I got for free!), and a cot, desk and trike for my little granddaughter. But if your land lease drops below 80 years good luck selling it apart from at auction and the land owners will be able to make you suffer with their rent demands and more , add to that in 80 years they can evict you.

But I did manage to gently remove a bird from my land ladies front room earlier, I have to say I've never seen her be that animated .. :rotfl: Poor bird just wanted to get the hell out of dodge and I pointed it in the right direction, had it been a bat land lady would of been on her own. :cartman:

I started planting lavender and other plants to attract bees a decade ago, and in that time the number that come to my garden has declined dramatically. It's very sad and worrying. :(

There's a constant battle going on here in Europe and the UK to save our bees and I've signed quite a few petitions trying to ban the chemicals that are responsible for killing them. There was a recent victory to ban them in the UK after a big campaign:

https://home.38degrees.org.uk/2016/07/06/bees-1-pesticide-companies-0/

Unfortunately that's not the end of the matter as lobbyists are even now applying to the government to overturn the ban. Here's the most recent petition people who are interested can sign calling for transparency in the decision making process:

Let's hope the lobbyists for the chemical companies don't win!

Let's hope the lobbyists for the chemical companies don't win!

I too have signed a number of petitions and shall continue to do so, it is so important that bees remain part of our environment

Well I had an interesting day.. My colleague is leaving at end of the month (there is only 2 of us working on this project) and my boss asked to talk to me. He said he was worried I was going to leave to0 and didn't want that so will be getting a new contract with a better job title and more money. Told him that I love my work but didn't like the atmosphere in office as we have one or two people who are just plain rude (no please, thank you.. not even a Good morning most days). He agreed that it was not a nice feeling to come to work in those conditions. I had such a great chat with him.. was really surprised (cause one of the above mentioned people is his personal secretary) but he was totally supportive and understanding. Even offered to pay my distant learning course I am currently doing... Never thought a boss could be so nice.

Congratulations on your new contract and better pay. Is there a reason that your colleagues are so rude? Are they just rude to you or everybody? Hopefully he will address this situation because it is very unpleasant to work in those conditions. Good luck with the distant learning course and great that the boss is going to pay for it :)

Sounds a lovely tea you had Splashy. We had leftover sweet `n`sour pork and fried rice from what I cooked the day before as I made plenty. Next time I`m going to use brown rice as its much healthier and tastes a lot nicer in my opinion.
I`m glad you got your banking problems sorted out...must`ve been so scary for you.
I just got new glasses the other day too Splashy. Well when I say new glasses I mean I`ve had them about 8 years, but misplaced them. The pair I replaced them with were so scratched up I could barely see out of them. Serves me right for using them to go blackberry picking last month. And yayyyy I can see perfectly again...so perfect in fact that I had to adjust my zoom on my web page viewer to smaller text.
I was going to get my eyes tested next month as I thought that I`d need stronger lenses. But these glasses from 8 years ago are perfect, so I saved a lot of money not having to bother getting my eyes tested and getting new glasses. And these are practically new anyway as when I bought them they were a 2 for 1 offer. It was only by chance I found them as I was looking for something else in my cupboard, and I found the glasses case they were in.
:)

LOL Splashy. I`m still awake knitting while watching my soaps. I`m knitting a blanket for my oldest son and his fiancee for their wedding in October. I hope I finish it in time...it`s taking ages.
Enjoy your new specs. Don`t forget to buy a cloth and spray for your lenses. I did read somewhere from an optician that he never bothered with special cloths...he used his silk tie to clean his glasses. I found out to my chagrin that`s what I should`ve used for my lenses instead of tissues over the years. It would`ve saved on the wear and tear.
Oh well, you live and learn huh.

Just have to vent a bit...:ninja:

Evil sister called landlady out of the blue this week, well as evil sis has stolen 25k of our aunts money and sought before I stopped her to get 100k in total the conversation didnt go well and land lady put the phone down on her in the end, personally I would of slammed it down the second she spoke.

Landlady then sent an email asking evil sis for her reply to being accused of stealing our aunts money who sold her house to pay for care as she has dementia/Alzheimers. Of course landlady has had no reply from the evil one as there cant be any justification for her act. But I know this is the beginning of something else. The evil one only calls when shes after something, normally money or a free place to dump her kids when she comes over here from Ozz.

Seems Im spot on, evil sis is getting remarried so I hear next year, but that cant be the twist, there is something else we dont know. Spent the day with two people we love but they didnt spill and we dont like to put them in the middle of this mess, but we know they are being manipulated but as nice people we roll with it as they love Ozz sis and we love them so .... well

Im guessing she wants money to pay for her wedding or shes moving back here and needs money full stop, maybe even wants to move in with landlady and me to save money when she comes, I wouldnt put anything beyond her, she kicked her elderley mum out of her bed when she came here before despite being told she couldn't stay before she came...

The women's an awful human being, have you ever heard of someone demanding their inheritance when the relative is still alive? Well she did that..

Deep breath..... but its the same deal as with my stalker, I cant go after her like I really want to as the people I love will be caught in the cross fire.

I met by aunt a few weeks ago after years of my own illness, she didnt recognise me but I could tell she kinda did in a way as she kept looking at me and it rips me apart that someone could just see her situation as something to gain from.

Anyway, have I told you about my new glasses.

Sorry to hear you're having a bad day. :( I hope your loved ones have the sense not to believe your sister's poison. Unfortunately, it's hard for many to believe that someone they know well is evil.

I posted on this thread a couple of weeks back that I like spiders in general because they catch flies (though I'm not quite so keen on the big thick house spiders that can sometimes be seen scurrying across the floor at high speed).

I've just read an interesting fact that the spindly daddy long legs spiders which tend to occupy ceiling corners here in the UK eat large house spiders as well as other insects. Good reason for letting them live on our ceilings undisturbed (which I do anyway since they cause me no anxiety)! They can't survive outdoors in the winter so it's kinder to leave them inside - as well as being good for the ecosystem of the home.

I never kill any spiders (or any other insects if I can possibly help it) though I do usually put large spiders out if I can catch them. It's good to remember that all spiders are hunters and prey on the other insects, so having them as house guests significantly reduces other bugs around our homes. :)

I find the best way to catch daddy long legs is just to very gently grab them in my hand if they're within reach. Then I go outside and release them. However, I think I'm probably unusual in that I don't have a problem doing that. :D

I'm up for a party! Can you still buy several litres of white lightning for £2.50 nowadays?

Just before I moved house (and areas) a few months ago, my beloved local chippy/chinese changed its recipes to something that tasted cheap and inedible, so I feel your pain about the unpleasant chips. I would have complained to my takeaway if I was staying in the area. I'd be surprised if they didn't lose a lot of custom, but possibly the savings made up for it?

I put the £2.50 winnings towards a doner kebab sunday lunch time, not had one for nearly 7 years and couldnt resist as we walked past the shop during my hunt for shoes. it was seriously yum.

Today I arranged a 3 grand loan from my bank to cover flat costs, its a financial equation, I would lose more money cashing in funds and shares etc than the amount of interest I would pay on a loan to cover costs now ...plus I really dont like borrowing off family even just for a day, they may need that money instantly for an unplanned event .. plus as some know ES would love it if monies were to come from a certain relatives account with or without my knowledge.

But seriously, the Donner kebab was the making of my week end, next time im going for a beef chow main or maybe even chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce....:cartman:

On the positive side, at least you know and now can do something about it.

Dont you just hate chirpy entities like me, always looking for the upside in everything.

"Ill get my coat"

On my home front and to be honest thats all I care about, me being the selfish vacuous entity that I am, Ive booked an appointment with the eye doctor at last, Im not sure at this point what colour I want in the way of a guide dog but Im veering towards rottweiler pink. :cheer: Mostly becaue it would annoy my sister who hates dogs and anything pink

Brad irks me, never been a fan, there was one of his movies where his character is carped off early on, I liked that movie :ninja:

Planning a solo visit to the isle of widget on red funnel ferry, want to live there again if I can, heres ok but there is no pub within walking distance and when like me you cant drive a car due to a tree jumping in front of you, you are stuffed and the buses, all they do is try and kill me when I try to cycle to Tescos shop.

I miss the days of being in the pub dart team, pool team and crib team... cue nostalgic music and montage :crying:

Ah well I got told off a dew drips of water on the kitchen floor today when I was doing the washing up, which was fun and didnt make me feel like a ickle boy again at all. :D Oh im so designed to share any abode with anuone and no one deserves to have me invading their home :D

Farage on loose women, only Porter gave him a roasting the others just simprerd, look the guy campaigned for british jobs for British workers then employed his POLISH wife as his PA! He rekons with no immigrants to do the fruit picking, the bed changing etc in hotels employers will step up and pay more to get workers in????? which would raise food prices and bankrupt farmers and hotels etc. But then the guy backed Trump, a man who is anti mexicans and Muslims and declared he hates Clinton...

You know those garden solar light things, that charge up during the day then come on at night, now they have a very cheap rechargeable battery in so they only last a couple of months, but landlady is adamant that they are normal batteries in them not rechargeable ones and wont have it as she says she replaced the one in front with a normal battery and its still going. the logic of it has a solar cell to charge it during the day so something is storing that energy, lets say the battery, thus it must be a rechargeable battery cuts no ice, last time I sugested then they must be being powered by pixies then and she didnt speak to me again that day. :p

Today she said she would get new batteries for them, the regular non recharging will only last a week at most batteries and she looked at me when I just said on the matter "I take the Fith Sis"

I know she will blame it on it being autumn asn no sunlight when they stop working :moonie::D But then I put my clotrhes in the washing machine today and forgot the detergent and softna.. :D

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago .. stayed in a hotel, woke up wide awake .. put on tv, BBC News, thought it said 7am on their clock so got up, showered and when I got back to the room (military run hotels can be basic without en suite) I thought that the breakfast tv was different .... put my glasses on and checked my mobile phone .. it was 1am :wall: put a towel on my pillow because of my wet hair and went back to bed ..lol

I was on a waiting list for a Siberian cat for over a year now they said it could take another 6 months. Was getting a Siberian as my sister is allergic to cats. Anyway she has agreed to take medication when she visits if I get an ordinary kitten. I went out and got everything I need for a kitten on Thursday. I contacted a cat rescue and no one gets back to me. It's only been a week. Now I have spent hours on the internet trying to get a kitten but think I have come across a lot of dodgy breeders. I thought I would have had a kitten by the end of today. My friend who volunteers for a cat rescue said I best wait for one from the cat rescue.

I totally agree with Perdita and would only get a rescue cat (or any other animal for that matter).

Have you considered an older cat swmc66? There'll be many more of them than kittens needing homes. I've known many cats who were adopted as adults (some of whom were adopted by myself) and they've all settled into their new homes and become much loved members of the family.

I'd definitely persevere with the cat rescue place. The volunteers are probably so busy that someone just forgot to get back to you.

Celia Hammond rescue in Canning Town said they will send a homing officer to check out my place first very soon. My daughter wants a kitten and wants to see it grow and be part of the family. Maybe I will have a cat/kitten in a couple of weeks. It's hard waiting when you want one so desperately. In the meantime I can get my alarm pet friendly and install a cat flap.

Roiboos tea.. had to research it,(I never say the main brand of search engine as the gits dont pay tax) wow thats some healthy hot water! Stopped drinking Tea yonks ago re the caffeine, decaff never did it for me.

Had a horrible night and its continuing, Ive done something to my leg after what was supposed to be a healthy walk, I just tripped on the door step, then I was in agony. I know Im a man and we dont do pain well, but I get cluster headaches also known as suicide headaches but this pain rated right up there!

First called 111 they got the on call doctor to call me back and he advised going to A & E, not able to sit down without pure agony I couldnt go by car ? Spoke to 999 explaining not life threatening quickly got passed to a paramedic at ambulance control , in the end they said they would come collect me but there were loads of shouts going on so it would be a while.

I rang back after a short time and cancelled them coming, I wouldn't want a unit taken up by a bod like me if I really needed them stat. Plus Im stressing out the landlady, will suck down some more pain killers and get a taxi in the am.

Looks like my isle of wight ferry trip is on the rocks.. did ya see what I did there

Yes it's available in most supermarkets in the tea section. It's also known as redbush tea (roiboos means redbush in the language of the shrub's native country). I've bought a variety of brands and found them all much of a muchness really.

I stopped drinking black tea because I have low iron, and ordinary tea (and coffee) inhibits iron absorption. It's also caffeine free and choc full of lots of healthy stuff. I already knew of redbush tea because my mum's drunk it for years so she suggested it as the closest thing available to black tea. It took a bit of getting used to but I really like it now and drink it out of preference. :)

I used to be much the same with black tea. It's not unhealthy per se, in fact it contains some really good stuff, but if you want to cut down then swapping some or all of the black tea you drink with roiboos might suit you.

As with any new flavour, it's worth persevering before making a judgement on whether it's for you or not.

Ring 111 and they should send someone after you tell them about difficulty getting out. I did dial 111 initially and the on call doctor called me back, he was obviously in his kitchen having tea, I could hear his wife clinking around behind him.. he told me to go to hospital.. couldn't do it like I said even after dialling 999 and explaining my situation to the paramedic in charge of ambulances, anxiety won out over pain.

Landlady and I are due to have lunch with the progenitors today along with niece, not sure if Im going to hospital first or after the meal depends on how much pain im in.

Wow I really am milking this, I watch the news and know how lucky I really am.

Oh swmc66 you must find a way of showing us a picture of your new cat.

Additional .. had to email Kevin at the isle of widget hotel to say I wasn't coming and thus unable to attend the party I wasn't invited to there, but to not to get too upset as I will get there later on this year when I've acquired a new leg.

I am disapointed that the service did not respond. GP have home visits in their contracts ...have you tried to get a GP home visit?
If that did not work you could raise it as a complaint with your local Clinical Commissioning Group as they cover primary care contracts now. You could also tell them about 111 not responding to difficulties in you going out. One of my jobs is with a clinical commissioning group and we deal with 111 service , GPs and hospital services. People do not know they can complain to us about NHS services and we can chase up the providers of services. I will get advice on this for you.
As for a cat picture. I have never uploaded an image on here and would not know how to do it. I will try later . It's black and white , 8 months female and it's wonderful . So good natured and fully trained thank goodness. They gave us the friendliest one as my daughter has depression and the cat is really for her.

Hey swmc66 .. I screwed up today, I did the lunch thing using lots of pain killers and alcohol to get me through it and missed the chance to be dropped off at casualty. In truth I was hoping I was getting better, but the agony in my leg has proved that not to be the case. Will go to a and e Sunday, im beginning to suspect I have actually broken something in the leg. I dont think a doctor visit would of helped and they just that day had given me the all clear re other stuff.

Anyway today was good, I got to meet my niece who I haven't seen since she was knee high to a grass hopper, shes now a talented hulla hoop performance artist. her new act involves a cross bow. When I've posted pics here, I first uploaded them to a site called Imgur (which is an image hosting site), and then linked to the relevant image in my post using the "Insert Image" button.
