We did see Lauren being fed the drug in some liquid food by Joel. He was "helping" her because of her stomach pain.

Yes, I could understand that two interview approach but D.S. Swain looked crestfallen after the interview that she hadn't nailed him. It was as though she was expecting him to confess or something. Then she told Dee Dee that she'd had to let Joel go. Nothing about a second interview or that it was all part of the plan. It just didn't make any sense to me.

Is it connected to the water supply? The back door come between it and the sink. Unless they push it over to the sink and connect it with push on rubber hoses. Disappointed we did not see it in use.

Then they would need to run under the floor to avoid the back door. I believe top loading machines need to be connected to the hot water supply as well as the cold. Which be be a pain to do.

Although I find it exasperating at times and, as you say, not realistic any more, Corrie is now the only soap I watch. Occasionally, there is still some flash of humour like the old days, which I find totally lacking in the others. Also, some of the characters are quite decent unlike, say, Eastenders, where I found I was not invested in one single character and couldn't care less what happened to any of them. It may be a forlorn hope, but I still cling to the hope that Corrie might still come good and that Roy Cropper will take over as series producer and chief script writer!

I started watching UK soaps mainly because they were more 'realistic' than US soaps. When was the last time you had an 'alien/UFO' storyline or a villain who wanted to control the worlds weather with a large diamond & this way control the whole world (General Hospital)? Or bring back LONG dead people, even those who no longer had a heart, (Days of Our Lives). Or how about 'time travel' (One Life To Live)?

It was just meant to be a writing job. Bethany was starting to s show signs of being unhappy with her body before she left for Turkey, especially when talking with Daniel about buying a swimsuit. She also said she was feeling insecure and paranoid. I imagine she was offered the chance of a procedure when she got there and took it. It was pretty obvious before she left that something like this was going to happen.

I am getting a bit sick of Sean, Gary and Maria and their constant campaign against Mason. Mason may or may not be a "wrong un" but I doubt he was born evil. When I was at school the lad next door was much bigger than most of us of a similar age, and as such was seen as the leader in our group, and instilled fear into most of us, although he was rarely violent. Mason reminds me of him. We all got up to mischief but nothing too bad. He was not a "bad lad" but felt at times that he had to "act up" to his position amd reputation especially when with a group, sometimes doing things that he did not really want too, but was egged on to do. Because we lived so close to each other, there would be times when it was just the two of us talking, and at these times I think I saw the real person behind the mask, and felt sorry for him having to be the person he was expected to be. I lost contact after we left school and I move away, but meet him once on a visit home and learned he had spent some time in prison, but think he later turned his life around and moved to South Africa. Gary of all people should be more forgiving considering some of the things he has done.

Carla threw Bobby out after he admitted to giving a false statement, but allowed him to return after he saved Ken, so presumably he is still there but we are just not seeing him. I would have expected him to visit Lauren in hospital.

Moving away when you are young without any money is not easy, that is why so many young people end up homeless and sleeping on the street. Probably force Mason to turn to crime.

The problem is Sean, Maria and Gary, particularly Gary who will not let the matter drop. I do not think this will end well, there will be violence and possibly a death or someone in prison.

Much of the fear is being generated by Sean, Maria and Gary. Mason has said he is not going to harm Liam, although others might not believe him, but so far he has not done anything to prove them right. There must be hope that those who go to prison can be rehabilitated, otherwise we might as well throw away the key for everyone who gets locked up.

i can see why maria and gary want him gone and are worried for liam, that shock thinking her son was contemplating suicide will always haunt maria and affect liam too

With a great of effort and determination. Depends how many bogs there are.

Perhaps if she had come home at the normal time, the house would have been burnt down. Instead they got away with a fire in a sideboard and it seems not even any smoke damage. Lots of drama, but hardly any damage.

I read that the UK Sepsis Trust were grateful that the story would raise awareness of sepsis. But from what I saw the, although it did not trivialise it, the portrayal on Corrie could give the impression that it was not a serious affair.

I get that, totally, but I think with certain medical conditions, like sepsis, symptoms can be so varied so they are very careful not to go too much into details.. in the end, again, viewers awareness has been raised but they should talk to professionals to find out more if they are concerned. The same that they never mention any benefits people could claim... too subjective and can change any time so easier to show a struggling Ches and Gemma with 5 kids than to show them getting social security...

I thought the Joel, Kit, Lisa saga couldn't get any more preposterous but sadly I was proved wrong.

Kit the Detective Constable arrests Lisa the Detective Sergeant who is somewhat the worse for drink. He arrests her in a pub for Murder. That is far fetched enough. Then he takes her the Waetherfield Nick where he the lowly D/C interviews her in the presence of a non speaking peeler from Professional Standards. Who was the police advisor for this pile of poo. PC Big Ears?? Im just shocked that he didn't bring in PC Tinker of the yard.

Yes I know it's only a soap but surely it should have some semblance of reality and not insult our intelligence. I expect super lawyer Anya to return from the Emerald Isle as a High Court judge and deal with the case. Just a pity Marcus Christie isn't around when you need him.

The way Corrie is going I fully expect "Our Paul" to return as Billy gets out of the shower some morning.

When is a flat a house? Reading your post made me think and realize, that although I was brought up in a tenement, we never referred to it as an apartment or a flat. We always said the house, our house, your house or someone's else's house. We used the word house as the place where we lived, not to describe it's type of architecture. Not sure if this was just a Glasgow thing or not. Probably does not apply now.

Yes ! - I was just about to post along similar lines. Does PC Kit actually, answer to anyone, he rarely seems to confer or report to a senior officer. I thought we were going to finally find out who killed Joel last night, but seemly not. I say seeming not, because I find it so difficult to fully engage with this nonsense, that maybe we did, and I have not realized it. Personally I will be very surprised if it does not turn out to be Kit 'wot done it"

As for "Our Paul" he has already made a return visit even though his remains have been scattered over the stratosphere. Personally I would not mind his return if it meant his foul mouthed twin would take his place in the stratosphere.

roy and carla should be delighted that lisa got arrested, karma for what she put roy through but carla sticking her ore in defending makes no sense, writers just love pushing a same sex relationship, a ship eager fans to jump on, even a friendship seems wrong to me after the treatment of roy

I do hope Carla and Lisa are not going to enter a same sex relationship. We are told that people are born gay, that it is not a lifestyle choice, and Carla has never displayed any signs of being gay, that have I noticed. So if they do get together, will this be in defiance of science, or an example of gender fluidity.

I have never heard that you are born gay. ... I also do not believe it. I can imagine that some that are abused and mistreated by their heterosexual partners leave them and then turn to same sex partners. Maybe that is what Carla is experiencing... all her male partners let her down so maybe she thinks she is safer with a female partner???
