Yesterday we had the one in a million chance of Freshco's being closed due to an electrical fault just as Bernie tries to use it as an excuse for going out.

Next we have Christopher expecting a cleaning woman from the agency just as Bernie arrives.

Then Adam has to go out just as Bethany arrives, leaving her alone in the office.

I could add the Tommy Orpington story appearing in the paper on the same day as Steve has his next date with Demi, though that is slightly more believable.

There is no way they could be sure Nathan would actually leave Weatherfield after he got the money, ten grand is not a lot to start life somewhere else with a new home and job. If Nathan claimed it was a Daniel, there is no evidence to back this up, and it is possible if the police took the word of a convicted sex offender, that Daniel could retrace his steps and find CCTV to prove he was somewhere else at the time of the attack. Drama - Yes - but it needs to thought out a bit better.

She must have not believed Gary's explanation for the ten grand, but I wonder what she thinks he actually did with it. Would Gary have put the money into their joint account, surely he must have a business account, easier for tax purposes if nothing else. Pretty sure the DVLA would send a reminder before taking any action. You used to be allowed 2 weeks grace, although I think it was unofficial, before any further action.

In fact, as I understand it, police cars have Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras on board which can flag up cars without a valid certificate. So any police car could have spotted it.

The final scenes with Roy in his cell were a bit surreal. Prison Officers banging on the door, and saying open the door, as if it was locked on the inside. Griff carrying on with his plan to make Roy commit "suicide" when the jig was up, what was the point of that, it was not going to fool anyone. Why not just stab Roy with his Shiv? The way the riot squad entered the cell without shields really was not very convincing.

Yes, but I must have missed something because I never knew she was a carer or said she had been .Evelyn could hardly look at her in the beginning having been estranged from her for years because of her drug abuse. Even if she has no proof, it is not something that Joel would want to be made public. Sabrina could confirm he offered her alcohol. Blackmailers do not always need proof, the threat of exposure is often enough. Mind you Joel could always make her disappear, a la Lauren. I do not think Betsy realizes the danger she could be in.
