There would be fingerprints if the glass was kept back for examination... cannot remember if it was given to the police or not now.. I had hoped for proper drama in the court room, why was no mention made of Daisy's injuries to her chest??? Corrie can do such good emotional storylines but court room drama is not one of them

I agree with all that but it's up to the Police to take possession of evidence.

There's a lot in that trial I would have wanted to see, that being one of them. Also calling PC (or DC now) Craig Tinker as a witness to the previous incident. The police and/or forensics team giving evidence about the actual attack. Other witnesses to the continued stalking and harassment of Daisy. Scientific recreations of the attack and the angle the acid was thrown from. Justin's sister put on the stand and cross-examined about his previous stalking. A trial like that would have gone on for days, maybe weeks, not be all over in 2 days. Cross examinations of Daisy, Justin and Ryan, each one would have gone on for days.
It was just complete rubbish writing.

Perhaps we will see the cross examination in the next episode. I hope so. I thought the judge allowed the defence barrister too much leeway in how she dealt with Ryan, the Prosecutor only made a half hearted objection. She was virtually calling both Daisy and Ryan liars, if Justin gets off will we see Daisy and Ryan charged with wasting police time and perjury? I know the prosecution have to disclose evidence to the defence, but I am not sure if the defence have to disclose their plan of denfence to the prosecution. Surely the time for Justin to tell his tale would have been when he was arrested and questioned by the police, as the trial has gone ahead we must assume that he did not. Should the Prosecutor and the judge not have raised this point. Corrie never write courtroom scenes very well, but here they have stretched the limits of imagination, and the bounds of credibility past breaking point.

Is Ryan left handed,? The burns are on the left hand side of his face, if he was holding the glass in his right hand, he would need to have had his arm across his face for it to spill onto to his left side. I am sure no one would do that, they would hold it out to the side, so it would be important to know if he was right or left handed. Has it been raised in court that Justin got a job as a delivery driver covering Coronation Street, just to be near to Daisy. The way this has been filmed, the prosecution seem to have only called two witnesses, Daisy and Ryan, and are not calling any more, otherwise the defence would not be putting their case now.

Another good post. We never saw or heard Justin interviewed by the Police. He would have been interviewed and that would be the appropriate time to make his claims. The Judge should point this out to the jury, but will she? Probably not.

When Justin's sister first appeared she was quite sympathetic towards Daisy, now she seems to be as nasty as him. Was she always like this and just pretending to be nice, or did the writers change their mind at some point?

Corrie have never been good at courtroom drama, but they really excelled themselves here. In what world would it not be mentioned or questioned, when a defendant claimed "it was not me wot done it, it was the victim" and allowed to do so unchallenged?
If Prince Harry was watching this, I bet he will be praying that he gets as easy a time in the witness box.

The real Panto villain Steeeeephen was completely OTT last night. The character is more and more unbelievable with every passing episode. How fortunate for the pathetic storyline that Elaine's blood pressure tablets are identical to off the shelf Caffeine tablets. Yet another amazing coincidence is this dire storyline.
Little wonder that Corrie did not win Best Soap award this year!!!!!. Maybe should have tried for the CITV kids award for fairy tales

And I missed it all thanks to my fast forward finger.
And as if Elaine wouldn't notice that the tablets he gave her were NOT her blood pressure tablets. I take BP tablets and would know immediately by the look of them if they were different from my usual ones. Size/ colour.
Added to that she is only just becoming hacked off by him asking for more and more money. Is she not just a tad suspicious? No wonder there are so many stories of widows being conned out of their life savings. Gullible just doesn't cover it.

Wonder if Stephen went to the pharmacy and bought a selection of over the counter medications, then opened the blister packs until he found one that matched the look of Elaine's blood pressure medication. Lucky it was caffeine to push her blood pressure up.

He's not that smart. Prescription medicines usually have some identifying numbers or letters on them whereas over the counter stuff is more like to have a brand name.
Just another crap storyline from the book of Ridiculous Stories for Useless Characters Whom Corrie have signed a lengthy contract with.

If Stephen wants to kill Elaine he must come up with a better method than this, even if he caused her to have a stroke, there was no guarantee she would die.

She looked like like a hideous toilet paper cozy! But I will have to change my comment about the low-key makeup (in the photo I saw online it looked subdued), orange eyeshadow & did I see glitter? It's springtime, why did she choose to wear something that looked like a Halloween costume? Yes, I know that Gemma is, how do I say this nicely, a bit of a 'chavette' but...? And don't get me started on Bernie, the outfit itself was cute but totally wrong for her. Also, who were all those people?

Some would argue that he is entitled to a bit of revenge.
When these (real) eternal triangle cases come up on Judge Judy because either the husband or wife has taken revenge on the "lover" in some way, Judge Judy always makes the point that the real villain is the husband or wife having the affair. They are the ones who have broken the marriage vow and been unfaithful. Of course, you can't exactly condone the lover's action, but the affair can only happen if the husband or wife goes along with it. Her view is that the person to be angry with is the straying spouse. She would be very unhappy with Adam's actions!

Some MIGHT argue that, but this is how feuds and vendettas start. Is it wise to fall out with a man who was involved in a shooting in The Bistro, who had his own brother beaten up and sold out his own son. Lizann says Adam is made a villain now, but a pretty stupid one, I think. Being involved with violent criminals as a lawyer is one thing, being involved in a hands on way is another. Although Damon has done a runner, how does Adam know he will not pay someone to sort him out. Adam is playing out of his league, and I fear it will end badly for him. This is not "a little bit of revenge" it is madness.
Does Damon still have club's in Ibiza, has he left someone else in charge. Never seemed to make much sense to give them up and go into partnership at The Bistro after he stopped using it for drug smuggling, or is that still going on out of sight.

That is a question that we all seek an answer to, well, at least I do. I think she was seeking a bit of excitement and was flattered by Damon's attention. Adam was too busy to give her any attention, so altho' she kept protesting to Damon that she was happily married she gave in to his bad boy advances. Sarah is not known for her intelligence in business or in relationships.

Yes, it was all part of the storyline that Adam was always too busy at work and didn't spend much time with Sarah. There was also the issue of him not wanting children.

Yet another icon leaves the cobbles (albeit temporarily). Corrie will be a poorer place without the wonderful Maureen Lipman. She has become legendary with her portrayal of acid tongued Evelyn. She was one of the few reasons to continue watching Corrie and take my finger off the fast forward button. Instead we are left with the crazy Canuck murderer storylinezzzzzz. I'm not sure what the law is in the UK but in the US we have HIPPA laws. You cannot divulge a patient's records without their permission (it's a federal crime). So if you have similar laws in the UK, the clinic/lab/doctor's office/hospital cannot tell Adam the results. Also, isn't it a bit early to determine paternity?

I'm no expert about any of this, but I agree that it does seem very early to determine paternity on a two month(-ish) foetus?
I'd expect the scriptwriters to have done their homework, but who knows? Does anyone have knowledge about it?

I think she wants to believe it is Adam's baby and just does not want to read the letter in case he is not. Will somebody find the letter and read it??? :hmm:
Probably Stu, he used to scavenge around in bins for food in his previous life.

If someone does find the letter Sarah will deserve to be found out. She should have made more effort to get rid of it, tore it into tiny pieces, burnt it, stuffed at the bottom of a wheelie bin, not place it at the top of a letter bin in a public garden. This is more or less telling us someone will read it.

I'd expect the scriptwriters to have done their homework, but who knows? Does anyone have knowledge about it?
I whizzed through the 12 July episode again:
At around 19 minutes 50 seconds, Sarah looks through all the post, singles out the paternity letter but doesn?t open it.
The next we see of the letter is 43:40, with Sarah sitting outside on the park bench, tearing the envelope in half, getting up and putting it in a waste bin.
She's never been seen to have read the letter.
OK. Must be my medication or something! I'm finding this storyline confusing. When they had the baby scare last week, I could havr sworn Adam said at that time that he didn't care who the father was. He just wanted the baby to be OK.

When Spider jumped in the car to go to the meet he tried to put on a mean face, but he was no Dennis Waterman.
Again, the camera missed out the action shots and we had to imagine what happened.

I can see Eileen's had a face and body transplant.
New improved Eileen - destroys 99% of household germs.

I know I am not popular with my view but I preferred her with more weight and a different hairstyle... she looks a lot older now than she is (in my opinion) and quite haggard, I love the character and the actress, do not watch reality tv so not sure why so many people disliked her after her appearance on I'm A Celebrity...

Those articles give me the impression she's either just as bitchy as her Corro character, or maybe with all the cameras around she went back to playing Eileen?

I thought it was funny that she was glad she was voted out. Also, I don't know what Sue Cleaver is like in real life (I live in the US), maybe one of the UK posters here might know?

I do not watch Reality TV either but I think many would agree with her opinion of Matt Hancock, but being voted on or off I'm a Celebrity is not as clear cut as whether the public like you or not. It is probably sometimes decided on entertainment value, in Matt H's case I think a lot of people wanted to punish him and see him humiliated.

Presumably you still get paid if you are voted out, so less pain and discomfort for the money. Be interesting to know if the longer you stay the more money you earn.

Seeing the opening scenes tonight, I agree she does look quite haggard, problem with losing weight as you get older, the skin does not shrink back. The shorter hair makes her nose look bigger. George also lost a lot of weight, wonder if there is a connection.
I am always fascinated to see when actors get a role on a Soap, how they tend to lose weight once they become regulars. Nina being an example, but on her, it looks good.

Well I broke my own rule last night and did not fast forward through the Steeeeeephen scenes. This was a mistake. Had I closed my eyes I word have sworn I was listening to a poor Canadian impression of James Cagney. He did everything except call Tim nice but Dim a "Dirty Rat". He was an about as scary as my goldfish. Sadly the knock to the head will not be fatal. Fortunately we have Detective Inspector Clueless on the case so we can expect a full investigation and trial within the week.
Back to the fast forward button.....................................

When Craig and the other detective arrived at the hospital and when they spoke to Tim, it looked like Craig was the lead detective, or was the other guy mentoring Craig, and allowing him to take the lead.
