I am a fan of "24 Hours in Police Custody" and other real life police documentaries, and I am thinking these programmes would be much more exciting if they adopted the same approach as Soaps and TV Dramas where they have several suspects and make a few wrong arrests before finding out who done it. One way to know who DID NOT DO IT is to see who is arrested first.

Why do Soaps always write police so badly, DS Swain's attitude to Roy is over hostile, she should spent her leisure time watching a few episodes of 24 Hours in Police Custody, to see how it is done. Roy's reason for cleaning the flat was reasonable, and could be corroborated by Evelyn. The CPS would never sign off on evidence like this. Have the police made any attempt to dig into Lauren's O-vidz account and trace her boyfriend if indeed he does exist. Surely this would be a top priority.

Feel sorry that they are undoing Max's turnaround to being a more decent teenager, now accusing Daniel to his face of killing Lauren.

The writers/producers seem to have missed the page on Ofcom's website regarding allocating telephone numbers for drama use.
They are numbers which will not be allocated for use.

Absolutely spot on. As well as questioning Evelyn, did they bother to question Nina about Roy's reason for going to the bat cave (or whatever it's called); indeed did they question her about what they found there as she was with him helping him dig up the place?

As well as watching 24 Hours in Police Custody, she could also try watching The Real CSI and look at the painstaking way they have to sift through evidence before coming to any sort of conclusions.

It is very sloppy writing by the scriptwriters.

I believe they are also not to divert from their approved route and usually there are 2 or 3 guards in them. But we are talking drama and soapland does these things never convincingly. Same as the dozen of armed police that come to Coronation Street to arrest Damon.... surely PC Tinker could have done this by himself....

Seems a strange choice of weapon, baseball bats or steel pipes would have looked just as convincing, especially as the driver was in on it, they were not going to have to batter their way into the van. The hammers would do a lot of damage if they hit someone, but hardly the easiest weapon to use unless the victim stayed still.

The problem with this story is that, while it raises awareness of MND, it is impossible for an actor to give an realistic portrayal of the condition, like the rugby player Rob Burrow. Altho' if they are going to say that Paul's speech is becoming more slurred he should be directed to show this.

Yes, I understand the problems for the actor if the speech were to become slurred to the point that no-one could understand him, but then, maybe, they shouldn't have made such a point of it in the first place. It's good to see Corrie maintaining its 60 odd year reputation for humour and light-hearted stories.

We have the whole bullying/knife crime and suicide drama amongst the teen boys. The absolute heartbreak of what is happening to Roy and the disappearance of Lauren. The theft of Carla's money after several murders by Stephen. Paul's MND storyline. Leanne being taken in by a conman. Damon being banged up for armed robbery. Ed's debts brought on by a gambling addiction.

I think they should mix all this lighthearted stuff with the odd unhappy story though for a bit of balance!
