After last night's brilliant win for Celtic with them winning the Scottish league Cup again I went into work with a huge grin. Some of the guys are Ranger supporters and were gutted. A couple of weeks ago Lee one of the Ranger supporters hung his Ranger's top over my computer when they reached the final of the UEFA Cup, so this morning I had my revenge by putting my Celtic Top over his

I have a phobia about spiders. Just went into the bathroom and there was one big beast abseiling right onto the loo seat  Managed to stay calm, get a pint glass and a saucer, trapped the beast in the glass, shoved the saucer on top (the beast nearly got out) and chucked Sidney, the Spider out into the garden. Feel a bit sick now, but glad I did not kill it like I normally do. Not their fault I am scared and that they got into my living space.

I send the little cat on spiders  She catches them and eats them  saves me the guilt of killing it and the mess of clearing it up :p

It is sweet, unfortunatly all i have to put up with is Man U fans singing about winning the Champions league. "We've won i three time" a friend of mine a fellow Manc City fan was at the Liverpool game where they made up the song "we ve won it three time, the thomas cook trophy we've won it three times" unfortunatly the united fans dont have much sense of humour that i can see the funny side. It is kind of ironic as i am in Wales! At least this year City are in Europe.

A week till im home for the Summer, i cant wait! staying in tonight, i am so tired from the exam so i am going to have an early night and read Cecilia Ahernes new book, Thanks for the memories. I fancy a breat from Law Express of Key Cases of the English Legal System. !

I used to do this when I had my Ninja, my black hunting cat, he loved spiders anytime of the day  Can't have pets as we could be moved around so much with the British Forces, which could be anywhere in the world.

There is under the Mile High Club but you need loads of posts before you can access it. I think it is 1000 posts :(

Yup, 1000 posts for Mile High forums. And I think its for over 16s only because of the content. I think you can still access it if you're under 16 but its not recommended.

Just been to the muck Mac (pub). Saw a friend I haven't seen in ages. He went on to a club but my friend got his number. I think he thinks I like him because I asked if the girl he was with was his girlfriend. She wasn't. But then I asked my friend to get his number so it looked like I like him (from his POV). Gah, seeing him made my night :D

swings and roundabouts yesterday

got a call from the student union saying i hadn't got the job as receptionist, my friend got it instead, a bit annoying as i was the one that told her about the vacancy. still - she needs it more than me, so i wasn't too fussed

then i got a call from the birmingham rep. don't know if any of you remember me telling you that i wrote two plays that were performed by professional actors? well it's the 10th anniversay of that scheme and they want to reshow the best plays of the past decade, and one of mine was chosen. So basically out of the 300 or so plays that have been written, they considered one of mine to be the best.

Not sure if i want to go and see it though, times have changed and my writing style has moved on, i read over it the other day and cringed at how bad it was, still i was only 15 at the time!!!

One of the best parts was that Kathryn Drysdale who plays Louise in Two Pints, was playing Hermia and today (we saw it last night) we were out and about in Stratford, and we bumped into her and the rest of the cast, so I asked her for a picture with her and asked if she would mind signing my programme. ;] Which she did! And she was soo sweet :D although I'd never realised how short she was! There's me - 5ft8" and she's barely up to my shoulders!

NO WAY!!! Omg that must have been so cool!!!
Haha I think shes fab!... Her voice isn't even squeaky in real life is it??

No thankfully! haha
She's so tiny though!
There was a part in the play where Helena is complaining about how low she {helena} is, and Kathryn who plays Hermia had to say how low do you want me to go, and she put on the amazing deep voice that was so strange compared to her squeaky one! And she has quite a loud voice for such a small person! But there were times in the play like when she would laugh or say something, when it was soo like Louise! Expecially the little giggle!

The whole of Humberside (East Yorkshire) are celebrating because Hull City have been promoted to the premier league at Wembley this afternoon. I can't believe they've done it, we're going to be in the premiership next season :cheer: Three promotions in five years and now the premiership  Its amazing.

Not done much today, need to do some revision tonight, I'm so behind on it.

24-05-2008, 20:51
Hey, you'll be able to beat Man City next season, thats what all the other teams that get promoted do.

Stockport County are at Wembley on Mondy i tried to get tickets but i couldnt as i have an exam tuesday so should revise really. I hope they get promoted it would be a great day for the Club. I like the local teams to do well except for Man U.

And on another sport related note Munster became European champions after beating TOulousse in CArdiff. Good on Declan Kidney in his final game.

I am going out tonight, been persueded so it should be fun. Although spent way too much money these last few days.

Cinema was good. Bit of a random ending to Indiana Jones though! Rest of the film was good though. So funny in places.

Yay well done Kim!

Ahhh fun but random day.
Went to town with my friend
Came home then went to my other friends for a bit since his Mum and Dad were at a bbq.
That was fun.
2 boys sat on their swinging bench thing and the wires snapped! It was soooo funny if you were on the watching side of it Haha their faces!
Then a few more friends came up and we were all just having a banter :)
Then one of them got a funny phone call asking for rude stuff and said they were down this shchool we go to sometimes.
So at about half 10 at night we were all walking down the incline in pitch black because the boys couldn't put their curiosity to rest. There was no-one there anyways
So we ended up at the subway we used to go to which was fun :)
That is until one of my best friends decided to "clothes line" me but he accidentally smacked me in the chops!
And then i grazed my arm on the wall because the boys were being stupid and fighting near me!! It hurts :( Haha
So yeah... good day :)

Party tomorrow!! So that should be good :D

Brilliant news Bryan we'll see you on that stage one day soon collecting your BAFTA. Not been up to much today went shopping for shoes for work and Marley fleesed me for another pair of trainers, she only got a new pair two weeks ago. then I took her to one of these indoor play centres with the boucy castles and climbing frames. Done some revision today. I started before I got out of bed  I did feel a bit guilty because I didn't wake up until 12.15pm so I stayed in bed for a bit longer and read through some spider diagrams that I made yesterday.

Its wierd not having my mum around. As much as she annoys me, I do like having her here. I'm not missing her though.

Not a good day in washing machine land I guess!
I think ours fine... but I don't know I don't do washing.. I'm the ironer lmao

Haha oh it's been a weird day.
Woke up about 11:15.. by the time I woke up and sorted myself out I went downstairs. Watched Loose Women. Then went to read through my Biology book but I couldn't even focus and the words were all funny and moving so I had to leave that for a bit until I got my head together

My brother came over so I watched him all day since my Nan and Granch were out.
In all fairness I did alot of Biology notes whilst watching A Bugs Life, Over The Hedge and Mr.Beans Holiday!

I think I was still drunk for half of today though!

We went to get food and the girl asked me what dip I wanted and for some reason I said Strawberry. She looked at me as if I was stupid and we were just laughing for ages... of course I explained that I meant tomato sauce!

Then I went back over my friends house (the one who had a house party yesterday) and we all jsut played on the Wii which was fun :)
And now I'm here... babbling about my day as per usual :D

Business is pretty easy to revise for too. My teacher gave me some revision notes, everything we need to know is in there. I just need to learn the definitions of some things and thats it basically. Most of it is common sense, like the economy, finance and things like that. This credit crunch is great, I have lots to talk about in the exam. Extra marks if you can link answers to the current economic climate :D I'll do well on the report paper, its pretty simple stuff, write a report then the second question is a 40mark essay. There is always a question on shareholders so I can just talk about what they want etc, I should be ok on that. I got a B on a mock paper with no revision at all.

I'm going to fail physics anyway so I'm kinda holding off on that one. Biology is the one I'm revising seriously for, I really want to get a good grade in that. I hate the subject but I need three A levels, totally 200 points for Bucks, including general studies so I need to do well in biology.

My sister has fibromyalgia and spina bifida. She sees a pain specialist who prescribed her morphine and she had a lignocaine infusion a few weeks ago. A lot of the time the morphine doesn't work so she can't get out of bed or walk. She can't use a cane either because her hands are badly affected and would do more harm than good.

What pain meds are you on?

senorita
27-05-2008, 22:17
I'm on 90mg of morphine twice daily with two smaller doses in between of 30mg. I then take paracetamol and Ibuprofen 4 times a day, diclofenac 3 times a day and I was on Amitriptyline, but doc changed that so I'm now on Gabapentin - quite a cocktail. I cant sit for longer than 15 mins - I just find it too uncomfortable. I still count myself lucky though as there are other people far worse off than me - at least hopefully the operation will help ease the back problem.

today im going up to london to see the lord of the rings musical

I've drank so much coffee this afternoon. I made it in a perculator, it was quite strong and I feel a bit jittery now. I do like a cup of propper coffee now and then but I had six cups in less than two hours. It got me through an afternoon of revision though, I was able to concentrate properly and I learnt quite a bit.

I see the cardiologist tomorrow so hopefully my heart will have stopped beating so fast and the ECG and echo won't pick anything up. I don't even know why I'm going, I'm sure he discharged me last November.

Its raining here too now :(

Saw the cardiologist, he suggested a procedure that would prove that I have an extra pathway in my heart. It involves injecting adenasine into my heart to make it stop for three seconds. If I have this pathway then my heart will continue beating when it shouldn't be.

I don't want it done. Its not because of my heart stopping, I just don't want to know if there is an increased risk of me dropping dead within the next 22 years. Currently I have a 5% chance of having it. A study of 600 people was done over 20 years and only two people dropped dead because of the extra pathway. There are no recorded deaths from it over the age of 40. If the test is positive then the risk of me suddenly dying increase. Sometimes not knowing is better than knowing :hmm:

As ever me and my mum are disagreeing over what I should do :D

Abbie
29-05-2008, 21:51
Sorry I dont know the full story, but if having the operation will increase a risk of you dropping dead then why did your doctor suggest it?

Abigail
29-05-2008, 21:59
That's a good question actually. I don't really know. Maybe he thought he should tell me my options.

Abbie
29-05-2008, 22:11
If you dont mind me asking what is wrong with your heart? Im only assuming there is a problem since your doctor is suggesting surgery

Abigail
29-05-2008, 22:20
Well... to cut a long story short I had some delta waves on an ECG which are indicative of Wolff Parkinson White. Its basically just pre-excitation of the ventricles of the heart due to an accessory pathway known as the bundle of Kent. The accessory pathway is an abnormal electrical communication from the atria to the ventricles. (I had to google it cos I don't really know what it is).

According to wiki, Marilyn Manson and Meat Loaf have WPW.

Abbie
29-05-2008, 22:29
Hmmm , dont fully understand stand, however hmm the Bundle of Kent, I knew we had a Bundle of His in our hearts

Abigail
29-05-2008, 22:56
I think it just means that the heart beats really fast then the chambers don't beat like they should, both sides of the heart beat together or not at all which causes heart failure and death.

Abbie
29-05-2008, 23:06
I see now, I remember learning out the heart beat is controlled/made ad that the atria contract first then the ventricles

Chloe O'brien
29-05-2008, 23:30
At the end of the day Abigail it's your decision not your mum's if there is a good chance that you can lead a long life without the surgery, then maybe you would not need to have the operation.

Perdita
30-05-2008, 06:22
Did the doctor not tell you what might happen if you don't have the procedure? Did he give you all the options for your long-term future? Sorry to learn that you have problems with your heart. :(

Abigail
30-05-2008, 15:23
It's not a life-or-death procedure, it will just conclude whether I have it or not. If I survive the next 22 years then I should be ok (if I do have WPW).

I'd just rather not have another medical label attached to me.

Baaaaad night last night. I went out. Had a few drinks... okay a bit too many drinks. I was fine... went back to my mates for a beer or two..... went outside for a fag.... spewed everywhere!! TOO many times. One of my mates was fuming cause she was supposed to be driving me home, and she was like.. "I'm not taking her like that..!" ... luckily after a few more spewing sessions, I felt a little better.. I was soooo wrecked though! It all of a sudden hit me like!!

Then I had work today.. which amazingly, apart from throwing up the orange juice that I had in the morning, I was fine (was sick before going to work).. no headaches or anything.

But I'm going to a house party tomorrow for my mates 18th... work next day... I'm very much going to pace myself. I don't want to be too drunk again!!!

I had a good day and bad day. Went to buy tickets to see Coldplay in Glasgow in December. When I got to the record shop were they were selling the tickets from the guy told me that they weren't arriving until 11.30 but if I wanted to leave my name he would reserve my tickets as long as I picked them up before Sunday so I reserved 2 for the Friday night £42.50 each they were. I then went back after work and collected them YEHAAA!!! The guy in the record shop told me they have almost sold out.

Got into work almost 1 hour late apologies to the lecturers telling them I had an emergency this morning then found out one of our heavy vehicle apprentices was killed in a car accident last night. 17 years of age the young lad was.

Haven't been on the internet for like 2 days!!... the whole Virgin service was down around our area :(
Anyways I'm back now :D
Pretty good day :)
I put some bright pink blocks in my hair which I'm quite pleased with!
And I went to see Avril Lavigne with 3 of my friends... she was actually AMAZING!
I would definately pay money to go and see her again
We were about 2/3 rows from the front too whcih was cool :)
What wasn't cool was the bunch of 13 year old girls literally shoving everyone (me being one of them) to try and get to the front.
I got punched in the arm by one of them :(...So I pushed them all away :)
Very good night though :D

our sky box isnt weorking. Does anyone else have problems with the signal if there is any rain. It seems really odd.

i have been watching father ted and cleaning my room with my dad. The weather is horribel to go watch mum sailing. I only do that when it isnt raining.

Indiana jones last night was great!

Was my brothers birthday so close family and a few of my brother's friends and my friend went for a bbq to Cwmcarn Scenic Drive :) It was really nice up in the park acting like a kid again
...Whilst revising lol
It was cloudy but nice.. it did rain for a bit though but it added to the fun :D
Got back and jsut chilled for the night :)

My night has now been ruined by a truly arrogant boy and his 2 year old girlfriend and it's starting to really get on my nerves so much!

Done some revision today then watched some episodes of House. I also started writing a packing list for my holiday and packing things. I'll probably repack it a dozen times before I go  I'm counting down the days, 18 to go. The flight times have been changed to a little later in the morning, means I don't have to get up at 4am :D

on friday me and my sis took our little cousin out cos it was the dickens festival where we live which happens every year. when i was younger we used to dance down there and there whole thing used to be really good. but its gone so downhill in the last couple of years :( there were a few crappy stalls selling jam and knitted stuff and things like that and a few rides. my cousin had a good time though

just been watching loads of Dallas and House recently, I'm really suprised by House, didn't think I'd enjoy it but it's a really clever show with some great writing.

talking of writing, spent the last two days writing the first episode of a new drama about uni students, i'll be posting it in the scripts forum, so keep an eye out for it. i've written loads, it's just been flowing out, i love it when i get a gust of inspirtation and my writing just comes naturally, get a real buzz off it.

going to my cousins hair salon tomorrow to get my hair trimmed, she's gonna show me how to use my new hair straightners, cus i'm too scared to use them atm lol

Grrr annoying! When I was in Southampton couldn't find work, now I'm up here I can't find work! Just got a call from Oceana in Southampton, they're opening a new nightclub there next month, and they were asking if i was still interested in a job there? Of course I am, it's the best club in the country, but I can't travel all the way down there just for an interview, so I said I can't come down until start of July so she said to call back then and see if there's any vacancies left, which there probably wont be! As far as I know there was a cosine rule in my paper, hopefully that question needed the cosine rule
Plenty of mistakes made here too.. and for the first time in my whole entire life.. I left out a question.. I didn't even bother trying because my brain just went dead! CrazyLea
02-06-2008, 21:18
I'm a little stressed too :p. Will get to that in a min.

Went to a party on Sat, for my mates 18th. It was really good.. alot of people didn't turn up, but it was better I think cos we could talk to each other more. I got really drunk, but not too drunk that I can't remember what I did and stuff. Only actually had 1 hour sleep, as my mate kept me up all night.. okay we both kept each other up. And we annoyed this guy by poking him half the night while he was trying to sleep, we were in a tent. But he got his own back at 7 when he was leaving to go, by poking me :p. Good times.

Had work the next day though. OMG so hungover.

Today I'm a bit racked off. My mate owes me tenner.. I REALLY need it for tomrrow, driving lesson. So I phoned her earlier asked her if she has it, she said yes, I said could I get it, so she said she would meet me tomorrow after coll to give it to me.. I said okay. Then she texted me like 10 mins later saying.. "Think I've been sacked, should have your 10er by tomoz though. I've lost my card though, so if I'm home in time I'll go to the bank, ok? tb.. " I had no cred to text back.. but seriously, is it me or does that seem dodgy? Why didn't she tell me that on the phone? I really don't think I'm getting that tomorrow. She owes my other mate like £70! Don't think I'll get it back at all!!

Stressed out about college. Really don't think I'll finish all my assignments, hope I do.

I've been stressed out today. I was emailing my teacher this morning and he mentioned something about me getting stressed so I emailed back saying I was pretty calm. When I finally got down to some revision I couldn't concentrate then I started crying because mum wouldn't leave me alone.

So all in all, not a very productive day.

Not in the lending money ways... but in the letting down ways like the way she did it and it's so annoying I have to admit.

Surely if you tell her that you need it for your driving lesson she should be able to give you that tenner shouldn't she? Hope you get back in time anyways!

hopefully you manage to get a job soon. ive tried for almost 2yrs trying to get a job at uni and back home but cant seem to get anything! at uni they want you to work over summer and i cant cos i cant stay in my house over summer, and at home they seem to only employ 16yr olds cos its cheaper.

Geography went surprisingly ok today. Hopefully I haven't underachieved too badly as my teacher is the director of Sixth Form and I'm staying on. Remembered more of some of the case studies than I thought; they just didn't seem to be going in. Glad I'll never have to memorise over 10 case studies again!

History was fine yesterday. Loved the essay questions on the American West paper. Changed questions on the Medicine one but I got it finished in the end. Had to blag a bit as we hadn't covered the individual in enough detail; I thought I'd end up writing like a paragraph and got 2 sides down for that question so that was good.

English was all on green living and recycling. My dad wasn't too impressed to hear they base exams on that lol.

Chemistry and English Paper 2 tomorrow, then I have a long weekend of no exams.

I've just been looking at some past papers and the multiple choice questions look simple enough. The maths paper is about tessellations and spacial awareness. I'm pretty good at spacial things.

Exams went ok. First paper was really good. Second paper was not so good. This time they asked which of four paintings was Picasso's Ironing Lady  among other multiple choice questions. The second part didn't go well, I gave up in the end and left early.

I need to go for a blood test this afternoon but I'm so tired so I'm going to bed.

Not too much on in the office today so I came in jeans and trainers and cleared out a cupboard and a filing cabinet - much needed, I chucked out loads of paper rubbish. It was not that warm at 6.30 am but now it is sunny and very warm again and I am hot, hot, hot. Want to go home and take trainers off. :(

No, actually I am not, I am roasting away in my office, finished tidying and clearing up for today, too hot to lug any more files around. Pretty much done all there is to do anyway.

I thought my Biology exam went horribly, then I got to Chemistry this morning only to find it ten times worse! Safe to say I have failed Additional Science. Physics unit left to go but I'm even worse at that. The examiners will have a good laugh at me I guess; these exams will look hilarious against an A* piece of coursework. They don't even give you enough time for all the calculations that you have to do; I had to really rush the last question which was full of calculations. I swear they hadn't really checked the paper too; they really should do as it's the first year that GCSE has been examined. Was not impressed at having to get a bus at 25 past 7 and then stay at school all day because of a 45 minute exam.

English was fine. Loved the question choices in Section B. Missed the bus on the way home as we got out late and had to collect our yearbooks. Waiting 50 minutes for a bus after staying in all day was just the icing on the cake really. They told us after the Chemistry exam to go to the gym to collect them, then when I got there they said we weren't getting them until after the English exam

Night off as I've had 7 exams this week. May do some RE notes in a bit but that will be it. Dad's taking off on a golfing weekend tomorrow so I have to stay in school all day again; the one hour I need a bus is the one hour in the day they don't do one. Meh.

Oh god, Section B... I would love about 2 and a half hours for English. Usually I sit there with plenty of time but with English I always feel I don't have enough time..
I liked the describe question but it just wasn't working for me. I think I still did bad.. It's English, always been bad at essay writing in exam situations!

I have RE (which we call RS) tomorrow too.. Been trying to revise but it's not easy for a subject you don't enjoy much.. Exam is in afternoon so I will watch Heroes, revise for about half an hour and sleep and do some revision tomorrow, where it usually goes in because it's last minute. (My mind seems to work in a reverse direction when it comes to 'revision rules')...

*sighs*

That's the question I did. I was happier with what I wrote for that than with some of my describe practise questions, which all got A's and A*'s, so hopefully I've got that again. I was really worried about timing too. I didn't have time to check my answer to section B but oh well, at least I finished the paper.

I have the second part of my RE on Tuesday; revision session for it tomorrow.

Stop worriying im sure youve done better than you think. I always reckon i fail after every exam and usually i havent done to bad.

I was oon Mersey way heading up to the bus station and decathlon, it was probably all the pollution from the bus station making it warm!

Kim, my sister found chemistry really hard yesterday so i think if it was the same exam then hard was the general conclusion, in fact my old headteacher said it was one of the hardest papers he has ever seen.

Was she on AQA? I found the Biology really hard too; do you know how she found that?

Revision lesson at 11. I have to get a bus an hour and ten mins before the bus to school just to get into town. This is a joke! So much for the RE notes I was intending to make this morning! I'll be stranded afterwards too. I hate public transport! :crying: :crying:

public transport is dreadful! and the government wonder why people use their cars! on sunday mornings when i play netball, if i got the bus id be there 50mins early, i can leave my house later if i walk! and another thing that annoys me is each bus route doesnt work with the others, when i go to uni i have to get 2 buses and have to leave earlier than i should cos as the first bus pulls into the station as the second one is leaving!

Public transport in cities and large towns is pretty good. In small, rural areas it is appalling.

Done some revision today, not much though. I went to bed a 4.30pm and didn't get up until 8pm. I was going to do some more revision when I got up but I don't feel too good.

There was an unexploded ww2 bomb somewhere on the tube so our train line was severely delayed but luckily we weren't late :)

Lee Mead in a short towel  :p If you didn't know the story then I think you'd find it a bit confusing though. But it was a good show :D

I'm never told about these things until a few weeks before  I'd love to invite you all along though :p

It is a ww2 bomb on a gas main from a german airaid, some diggers doing some work for 2012 uncovered it. They hoped to defuse it overnight but the metal was too thick or something. Apparently it could still explode. Weird to think tubes have been traveling near it and it's never exploded!

Been one of those days, where nothing was simple!

Went into town with some friends to do a bit of shopping, went to get some vouchers for topshop, and the assistant was new and took her ages to process them.

Then went to get some Lucky Charms from Selfrdiges, 8 quid a box, daylight robbery! Then we went for lunch at the Jacket Potatoe shop, but she said there'd be a ten minute delay for Jackets!!! Couldn't find a mirror in ANY shops in Brum either, so much for shopping capital of Europe

I looked in like every shoe shop in Brum for some hi top trainers, no luck. Soon as I get home I find a pair online from Topman that were perfect - goes to show you should shop online all the time.

On the plus side - brought the Sex And The City shoebox boxset today! :D

Abigail

I'd shop online over going to the shops any day. I really hate shopping, especially when the sales are on. I never find anything that fits and the shops are always mafting.

Not done much today, had a rest from the revision. My grandad brought me some money for my holiday :D It'll go a very long way.

Done some revision today, was catching up on sleep for a bit as I didn't sleep very well last week. Friend persuaded a friend of hers to get her some credit so I've been texting her. She's shocked that we haven't seen each other since February. The busses to her place are as terrible as the school ones. £3.90 to go a few miles up the road; daylight robbery! That's while pretending I'm not 16 and paying child's fare. That doesn't even get me to her place either; hardly any of the busses go up there. Trying to sort out a day where we can get all day travel cards so the busses won't be so bad. I need to get a prom dress now that my exams are nearly over. Kind of looking foward to it but kind of not as I won't see my friends from school until Enrolment Day, except from at the prom.

On a more positive note, my dad has agreed to drive me to his cousin's place when I go up to stay with her. He thinks it's a bargain since it means he gets rid of me for a while lol!

yesterday i went to this music festival thing which they have on campus. it was really good even though the weather was horrible and it kept raining! got my face painted cos it was free lol and people kept giving me drinks so i didnt really have to buy any myself! they had fireworks as well which was cool. decided to walk back home at about 1am even though we live miles away! the train tracks go across one of the roads we have to walk down and for some reason there was a train coming at that time of night! it went passed and then the barriers stayed down for another 20mins for no reason!

today not done much, slept then went food shopping, probably not really going to do anything else
