The council  They're charging £45 a month for a bus pass and I thought it was ridiculous enough that I had to pay to go and collect it from school. When I got there they didn't make me sign for it or anything and the envelope actually had my address on the front. Then I open it and find that the thing expires on 19th December! Now I'll have to pay to go and pick up a new pass in January, it seems completely stupid to me because I'm paying up until July that I have to have different passes in that time. I bet the driver decides to charge me on the 19th because it says it expires on that day.

 i cant believe you have to pay £45 a month for a bus pass, thats well expensive! do you have to use 2 different bus companies or something? and is it just to use to and from school or will you be able to use it at weekends and stuff?

Nope, it's just the one bus which leaves at 7:24. So I get there 35 mins early after paying £45 a month. The company is Faresaver (yeah right!) The thing is had it not been at no extra cost to the council (Wiltshire County) to send me to my school instead of the one closest (I was told I'd never cope with the closest one because of my disability) then it would cost like £1000 a year in fares. They didn't care about that when I applied for a 6th form bus pass as I'm over compulsory school age and will reasses at the end of the year, so I could end up having to pay full fares next year if I can't drive by then. Buses I use at weekends don't care either; not quite disabled enough for a pass on them. My school pass is only valid for the one bus which only has 1 bus in each direction a day. When I have exams I'll have to pay for buses which don't go as far as the one I have a pass for and stop like 3 miles from my house. No student tickets with that company but with valid student ID they let you travel at child fares when you are over 16. Thank goodness for that lol!

I wish I lived up there, Kath. They don't provide passes for free even if someone over 16 goes to a cachment area school. The only way to get a free one is be under leaving age and go to the cachment area school.

£100-£150 a year, that's a bargain! Apparently the £360 a year is supposed to encourage those over 16 to stay on! It was £296 last year which even considering the rise in fuel prices seems steep to me.

Had a rubbish day..
Went sixth form and saw a few people which was nice and there were so many new people (not that good with socialising and didn't feel good with myself so it didn't help)..
Went to form, knew 5 people from my school and the rest are newbies. One girl I used to have English lessons with in Yr10 so she sat next to me and we met our form tutor and he was really funny so you know made me feel at ease a bit.. bearing in my I went to my school's sixth form so I feel bad for the newbies!

Then went to our lessons after break (oh btw did I mention it rained so bad and my hair was straight and I forgot the umbrella.. I don't know what it is about me but I have to feel good about myself or be in a good mood to not care).. But yeah then I had a free period. Now at free periods we have to go to the 'study centre'.. This is where it reallt went wrong.. I knew about 10 people but they are all people I don't talk too! I felt SO OUT OF PLACE.. like where to go and whatever but spoke to this new girl but you know it was just bad :( Knowing you have to be with them EVERY SINGLE DAY. as well.. :(

Oh and then 30 mins in my contact lenses (disposable but I didn't wear it in 2 months) really got out of control and my eyes were feeling dry and I was blinking like every 2 seconds so I went to the loo to take them off and luckily I took my glasses with me.. So did that but the mirror was a bit high up and I couldn't see what I was doing well but yeah my eyes went a bit red and it was just so irritating! No more contacts for a while for me now!

So then went to Maths.. Knew 4 people, they went of in pairs and I ran to the back and sat there.. By myself.. I have never felt so alone in my life today  I think I will sit next to someone new or whatever tomorrow and say hi or something.. Have to get somewhere!

So lunch came and I helped this cute little year 7 to find his way.. Best moment of the day perhaps?! And then went home for lunch with a good mate of mine and had a chat. She had a brilliant day and I had it bad. Just my luck eh!..

Went 5th lesson after, has Business. Had my Yr10 teacher.. Have him 2 times a week. Not happy he didn't reallyhelp me get past a C/D grade at GCSE but we will see. A good mate of mine came and sat next to me and he keeps me going so that's good. And he said he will sit next to me tomorrow so something to look forward too - having familiar faces and a friend next to you :).

So yeah that's my day.. Tomorrow I am going to dress up nicely and so on and going to try and feel good about myself! Hope my luck changes man!... x

EDIT: Woooo.. Essay! You guys don't have to read this obv. Sort of just for me to reflect back on! x

Awww Spicy you'll be fine :) Everyones all frigid for the first week or so! It's only natural :)

I know how you feel about the hair thing, I don't knwo why I bother brushing my hair let alone everything else! By the time I walk to shcool it's curly and messy and I look liek a right tramp! lol Hair up tomrrow I think!

But yeah, don't worry about who you know and don't know, it wall all click into place soon :) Just try and concentrate on getting your ehad around your subjects as they're very different to GCSE. I think I went wrong there thinking it would be a doddle so I was more interesting in making new friends than lessons at first... but you make new friends through your lessons so yeah :) it'll all be fine :D

Dancing was so rubbish! :( I'm not enjoying it anymore, I'm considering leaving after this term but I'm still unsure. It's just all turned into favouritism and it's not a nice atmosphere. Urgh I don't know :(

Pretty much the opposite for me, haven't seen any newbies. There's only about 100 less people in my year now than there was in year 11

I want to wear my new jeans tomorrow but I can't.. the colour comes out of them easily and it's forecast to pour down with rain. I'm going to have to wear not very nice clothes I think, I don't have an umbrella. Just my luck that the first day we have lessons on is going to be full of horrid weather.

I'm thinking it's expensive, too. I used to pay £150 a year for my unirider. Which company is it? Are there any student tickets available?

thats why i was thinking it was expensive, i only pay £100 a year (well probably about 9months cos its a uni year) and i can use it on any bus i like of that company in the whole county! i know thats a special discounted student ticket, but even the tickets everyone can by is only £9 a week (thats not the whole county, just the whole town and surrounding area) but thats still less than £45 a month

I was going to get a uni rider but then i just knew i'd lose it so i though id get weekly or monthly in stead. I can never hang on to anything like that. THis year i bought a Bike so cycling should get me about. It will be weird as at home in Manchester public transport pretty decent whereas in Bangor at uni its not as you can really walk to surrounding areas so it will be a weird change.

And i have just looked at the time and realised i havent even dried my hair yet and at this rate will be late for work! Have a good day guys.

where i live, kids cant get free bus passes, they have to buy a weekly pass just like everyone else. and even if theyre under 16, if they get the bus in the morning they have to pay adult fare cos its peak time

do you live quite far away from your school?

awwwww sorry to hear you had a bad first day spicy. im sure itll get better though. from my experience, people will sit with you and talk to you even if you never spoke to them at school before. i know it seems horrible now, but 6th form isnt really any different to school. hopefully today went better for you :)

we had to wear uniform at my school for 6th form and it had to be perfect lol! the amount of times i got told off for wearing earrings or for having my top button underdone or for having my shirt untucked or for wearing a hoodie under my blazer to school (even though i took it off when i got there)! the only good thing was cos it was a boys school there was no length restrictions on skirts, although i mostly wore trousers cos it was easier!

the other schools in my area dont have to wear school uniform but there is a dress code, some you have to wear suits and the others have to be smart clothes (most asking for black trousers/skirt and a suitable top). can you wear what you like at your school kim? none of the schools round here let you wear jeans in 6th form

Nope we don't have to wear uniform. Jeans are allowed, nail varnish, hoodies. The only things on the dress code are like no beachwear, conventional jewellery only and no revealing or scruffy clothes.

There were about 230-240 in my Year 11 and I live about 8 miles from my school. My school do a good one year course though so they're not all A Level people. Some are doing 3AS combined with a retake and some others do a Business Btec I think it is worth 4 GCSE's with English and/or Maths retake. Some of the people in my classes are on holiday  Great start they've made.

Lessons - first I had a free lol after we missed first lesson (Business in my case) and my friend has frees in the same block as me so we just sat in the common room talking. Next thing we know there's a load of Year 13's banging the hot drinks machine around. It's not like you can get anything for free when it's hot drinks! Sometimes it works on snack ones I suppose. It sounded like they were doing building work in the 6th form kitchen or something lol!

Next was Psychology. Was like the second to class and we sat where we liked so I sat somewhere in the middle. Next thing I know 3 people that bullied me including the two worst culprits stroll in and sit on the same row of tables as me. I would change Psychology to a different block but I can't as I have lessons in those, so I spoke to my teacher and am moving seats. Our group's 27 though and we're only supposed to have 25 so they're trying to get people to drop it/change blocks.

Get to English and we're told we're not even doing the syllabus that is in the prospectus. My teacher wants money for books next week and I haven't even had an EMA notification yet, never mind any money. It will get replaced eventually but I now have to get the bus into town tomorrow to get the money out. Could do with an umbrella after today too. The cheaper of the two doesn't run on Saturdays. The one that does is an absolute rip off! I would walk it because I think the fare's way over the top even considering the price of petrol rising this year but I can't walk that far :( She made us write our GCSE results down for every subject so I spoke to her after the lesson about my only B being in Lit. She looked it up and it was almost an A. She marked for other schools this year and said it was quite harsh compared to other years. I told her that one of my conclusions was rushed too and that the other essay didn't have one because I ran out of time and she said I'd probably have got an A if it wasn't for that. So yeah happy that she thinks I'll do well in it and not much worse than my other subjects or anything.

For Economics I have the teacher for some of the lessons that I had for Business at GCSE and they put us in a disused room with no teacher's desk because we were supposed to be a small group. Teacher was late then sat by me and said, "What happened to your A* in Business Kim?" I didn't need reminding  She's the one with a breakdown of the marks, my results sheet didn't even give me a total mark for the course. It seems most people did worse in Business than what they were predicted this year - a boy predicted an A got a C. She was telling me about him saying he wanted a remark so she said to go in on a certain day to arrange it and he didn't show!

We didn't have any work today! We only had to write about what sort of stuff we like reading and which parts of the English GCSEs we enjoyed for some reason, and some sheets in tutor so she could get to know us. In Economics we had to do this game we did in Maths in Year 9! There's no text books for that yet as they haven't arrived and there won't be enough as more people are taking it than expected as they opted in at the last minute.

Friends didn't want to go to town today so we stayed in the common room. Everyone takes pot noodles in! Essay lol

sounds like your school is quite relaxed about clothing then! is the reason your bus pass is so expensive cos you live so far away from the school? or is it a standard price which would have been the same even if you lived nearer? someone in my form was away on hols for the first 2weeks of yr7 lol!

Went to form and it was alright. First lesson was Business, met my new teacher she seems nice. I wanted my mate to sit next to me but he came in late and this girl who was following me (skip to the last paragraph if you want too lol) half the day yesterday followed me all day today and I got seriously p'eed off. Like a flippin' shadow! So she came and sat next to me so the whole lesson was pretty much made of nothing.
Library 2nd and yup she followed me again. I got my Maths textbook out and looked over yesterday's work which helped me a bit.

3rd lesson was Maths and I met my new teacher, sat next to this new girl and made a run from the girl who was following me but she sat on the desk next to me! Not to keen on the teacher, bit wierd but let's see.

4th was ICT.. The only lesson the girl didn't have with me and I have my Yr9 teacher who I wasn't too happy with but she seems more lively and she spoke really nice and remembered me so I think we will get along! Half of the (small) class was people from my school so it was nice to feel 'back at home' again. Going to like her lessons. Have another teacher for ICT 3 times a week, haven't met her but heard she's not that good but let's see.
5th lesson, had Sociology and it was alright but seems a bit hard.

I got 3 pieces of homwork  Already.. Did ICT and Sociology and Maths I will do tomorrow.. Going to try and keep as organised as I can with all these different teachers!

Oh & today I curled my hair and so I wasn't that worried about it and it went wavy after a while but I wasn't bothered, think I will do that from now on!

Ahh and you might be wondering who this girl is.. I feel like such an evil child for saying this but she's new but she's got 4/5 lessons with me and she just kept following me around. And the first lesson (Business) I was really looking forward to sitting with my mate but then she came and sat next to me. I know she's only trying to make friends and I am trying too but she's just been like shadowing me and not giving me ANY space! There are PLENTY of other students but she keeps following me..
I know it sounds rude of me but it's just really annoying and it's been getting me down. I just don't want to keep it locked up and suddenly blurt it out or whatever you know :( I feel so bad for posting this but I am going to do it anyways because I have to tell someone!:searchme: :crying:

maybe as shes new she doesnt know anyone else at your school, and she noticed you were in nearly all the same lessons as her and so thought she could make friends with you as she would have someone to sit with? i know it must seem quite annoying someone following you around, but try and be friendly and talk to her, maybe invite her to eat lunch with you and your friends if she doesnt have anyone to sit with, as im sure if it was you in her situation youd want someone to be nice to you. its scary going to a new school where everyone knows everyone and it must be even worse if you dont know anyone at all

No everyone for every school in Wiltshire gets charged £360. I could go to the Cachment area school 3 miles away with under average results for the county and still get charged that. They will give anyone a pass to anywhere providing the bus company don't charge them more for the subsidy than the bus company doing the cachment area school would charge the council to give a subsidy there, hence why they can't guarantee that I'll get a pass next year. The fares are very steep; the pass actually looks very good compared to them. If I paid fares every day it'd be £17 a week providing it doesn't go up but with the pass it works out as about £9.20 a week, plus all the fares I have to pay to pick up the passes as my current one runs out at Christmas but I am guaranteed a pass while I am in Year 12 as it's done on the academic year.

Someone in my GCSE Maths class missed the first week of Year 10. I thought that was ridiculous at the time but missing the start of A Level seems like not a very smart idea at all. We have one to one tutoring in a few weeks to check that we are happy with our subjects before it's too late to change so they will end up with limited lessons on the basis of which they have to make a decision.

maybe as shes new she doesnt know anyone else at your school, and she noticed you were in nearly all the same lessons as her and so thought she could make friends with you as she would have someone to sit with? i know it must seem quite annoying someone following you around, but try and be friendly and talk to her, maybe invite her to eat lunch with you and your friends if she doesnt have anyone to sit with, as im sure if it was you in her situation youd want someone to be nice to you. its scary going to a new school where everyone knows everyone and it must be even worse if you dont know anyone at all
Yeah I talk to her and everything (would be rude not too lol) but just the basics. Like I don't want to go too deep into convo. as I don't know what she's like or anything but I haven't got much to say really so I get lost for words after that. I go home for lunch anyways and at break I think she hangs out with another group of girls but it's just lessons (inc. 'study lessons') really.
I am all cool with seeing her every now and then and exchanging a few words and all that but I just don't get why she dosen't move around with other people too.. Like I would like to talk to other people and I don't have much confidence either but because she's there I feel like I can't talk to other people because she is shadowing me :(

I know what you mean Spicy. If someone stays with the same person/people then the people being followed end up almost angry with the person doing the following because they hold them back from making new friends as you want to do. Being with the same people only works in close groups where none of them have any friends that are in the school outside that group, because then they don't want to spend time with others.

Some are doing 3AS combined with a retake and some others do a Business Btec I think it is worth GCSE's with English and/or Maths retake. Some of the people in my classes are on holiday  Great start they've made.

sounds like your school is quite relaxed about clothing then! is the reason your bus pass is so expensive cos you live so far away from the school? or is it a standard price which would have been the same even if you lived nearer? someone in my form was away on hols for the first 2weeks of yr7 lol!

If I paid fares every day it'd be £17 a week providing it doesn't go up but with the pass it works out as about £9.20 a week, plus all the fares I have to pay to pick up the passes as my current one runs out at Christmas but I am guaranteed a pass while I am in Year 12 as it's done on the academic year.

oh right, i thought it might have been cos you lived further away it was more expensive cos obviously longer bus journeys are more expensive than shorter ones. that amount still seems really expensive though, especially as you have to get a certain bus. although saying that i dunno how much bus prices are to get to school where i live

yeh it is stupid missing the beginning of gcse and alevel courses. i thought the girl in my class in yr7 was stupid missing the first 2 weeks of school cos although you dont learn much, by the time she joined our class everyone had already made friends!

I just work in small pub/inn that does really nice food and friday nights are quite quiet and the tabels that came in were find and everything was done by half 8,but then there was atable that was booked in for half eight that didnt show up till 8:45 and then they were the slowest eaters ever!!!! I mean seriously, it looked like they were finsihed loads of times....but they werent. Anyway it got to 10 and they wanted sweets so only one of us had to saty but I was getting a lift home by my friend, who works with me so we both had to stay and it jusy went on and on and on.
It would have been okay if that table didnt show up. Its not like we are a proper restaurant, we are only a little pub :(

Not looking forward to it. Still have 2 assignments from last year to finish and I'm meant to bring them with me on Monday! :( I'm just gonna do a rush job so it looks like I've tried. Should work out. :).
Can't wait to see all my mates though!!! Only seen like 3 of them over the summer holidays. 1 of which I work with, so seen her loads! The others I haven't seen at all!! So I'm so excited :D.

I'm going to have to wear not very nice clothes I think, I don't have an umbrella. Just my luck that the first day we have lessons on is going to be full of horrid weather.

we had to wear uniform at my school for 6th form and it had to be perfect lol! the amount of times i got told off for wearing earrings or for having my top button underdone or for having my shirt untucked or for wearing a hoodie under my blazer to school (even though i took it off when i got there)! the only good thing was cos it was a boys school there was no length restrictions on skirts, although i mostly wore trousers cos it was easier!

We were allowed to wear what we like at 6th form as long as it wasn't too short or low cut. We got a reminder about six months ago about dressing appropriately, year 12 got a right roasting because some of the male teachers complained about low cut tops and very short shorts. Which is fair enough, they shouldn't have to put up with teenage girls baring all. It wasn't just a few, it was the majority of the girls.

Not done much today. Last day of work. Leave for uni next Saturday :D

Computer keeps dying :( It froze this morning, then I shut it down and it gave me a message about a USB thing then it seemed to have froze when it was loading and then 3rd time I got a blank screen!
Dad got someone to look at it and it seemed like he fixed it but then it froze and it happened again. Then Dad turns it on and then it worked!
I am worried it's going to happen again but I been so stressed over it.. I am just going to save the homework I did yesterday and get some sleep..
Hope you guys are okay! x

I'd back it up on a USB to be safe, Spicy. It's really annoying when things do that; it keeps doing it until you try to show someone, I find. My new DVD player for some reason won't play some pre recorded discs and says that playback isn't enabled. Most are from boxsets some of which I've played on there before so it's really weird. Hoping that will start working when I show mum. Took long enough for it to be delivered, let alone if it has to be sent back and fixed or a replacement sent.

Yup! It happened twice so I told Dad to switch it on himself and then it worked! He didn't believe me so I got really upset as sad as it sounds

I backed nearly everything I could onto a 1GB stick and then I got this 528mb or something USB which includes all my school work from past years (I don't know why I keep it tbh) but yeah..
I would ideally like to save 4more folders but need at least 5GB for that so need to speak to Dad about that..
May also need to get a new USB for school this year (now that I filled mine up with personal stuff!) as all the teachers are going on about it.
Going to go to bed now.. Was going to go to bed early as I wanted to get back into the swing of school and stuff but that didn't work out :( x

Do you not have blank CD's that you could use to do it? I was going to do that too lol! I've got my old work on the computer at home; or some of it, but I deleted it off my USB after results. My school seem to have wiped my school account; maybe they do everyones and then cancel the accounts of the people who haven't gone into the sixth form, or something.

Yeah, schools usually delete accounts after you have left unless they know that you are going back into 6th form. Its for the same reasons that your complete browser history isn't kept, media files are deleted and also because several hundred new accounts have to be made for the new intake.

I can't wait. All of my friends are going the week after me. I'm happy about that, another 12 days at home would do my head in.

I'm thinking what I can pack today. I don't want to pack my clothes, CDs or DVDs because then it will really look like I'm leaving. I don't particularly care about that but I'm worried about my mum so I don't want to rock the boat too early.

I think I'm going to sort out my paper work and file them, have a good tidy up and decide which clothes and books I need in the short term until my parents come down again. I don't know how much room I'll have so there's no point taking everything and then having to sort through what I don't have room for when I get there.

I'm trying to change my bank account details on student finance but it's not letting me

do you start your freshers week that week or are you just allowed to move in earlier? thats what i was like when i first moved down, didnt know what would be in my room, how much space i would have etc. luckily i was given one of the biggest rooms in my house which was good cos i have a load of crap lol (im sure they only gave me that room cos i was the only girl and they assumed girls need more space!). but i had to go back home the weekend after so just picked up the rest of my stuff. things like i wasnt sure if there would be a mirror in my room or whether id need to bring my own, would i have enough room for all my clothes. im sure since ive been at uni, more and more of my stuff has gradually moved itself out of my room at home and down to uni instead!

Freshers' week starts on Saturday for Stoke campus (where I am) and Sunday for Stafford until the following Sunday. I start the course on the 22nd Sept.

I haven't got that much personal stuff to take. My mum has bought loads of kitchen things (even a George Foreman grill) and stuff for my en suite bathroom which is gonna take up way more room in the car than my things. I'll fit all my things into three boxes plus a suitcase for my clothes and my laptop bag.

How long did it take you you to set up your internet connection in halls?

my uni normally starts the same week as youre starting (my freshers week started on 16th sept i think it was) but this year it seems theyve decided to start a week later which is annoying as we then finish a week later for xmas and i dont get to have my bday off! :(

lol my mum was like that, she bought me a george foreman in the middle of this year cos they were in a sale and were really cheap and she bought one for at home and thought i might like one too, ive not used it much, same as the toastie maker i bought when i started! i didnt have an ensuite when i lived on campus cos those rooms were over £1000 more expensive than the other rooms, but the house we lived in last year and this year all have ensuites and after having one i dont think i could go back to sharing lol!

erm obviously it might be different for different unis but i think it only took about 1hr to set up my internet. once the uni had made sure id paid for the internet they gave me a connection lead to connect the internet to my laptop and a disc to install it onto my laptop and it was pretty straightforward. the bits that took the time was that they had to run a full system scan to check for viruses and i had to set up a user area on my laptop cos it wouldnt let you connect til your computer had a password to get onto it. some of my housemates had a problem with theirs but mine was quite quick. i think uni internet connections are gonna be as straightforward as possible

Oh thats great. I was thinking I might be offline for several days.

Three showers between twelve girls isn't my idea of fun so I opted for the en suite. It is nearly £1k more than standard accommodation but at least I can spend as long as I like in the shower and leave things in the bathroom without them getting nicked. Standard halls are single sex flats only whereas ensuites are mixed flats which is great, don't think I could live with 12 girls.

Just did my Maths homework and I have no clue what to do, teacher is rubbish (Have 3 teachers!.. :() so he didn't explain what we should be doing exactly as he left everything a bit too late. But I tried my best and did everything I could.. Can't believe it was Day 2 and we got homework like this.. Well least we were warned :p

I've had no homework yet. We didn't do much in lessons either, we only had to get a pen out in two of them and in one of them we were playing a game. The text books for the course haven't arrived so we will be starting it late. There aren't even enough on order now as more people than the school had anticipated opted in at the last minute.

I guess we will get a pile of work this week though.

When I saw my friend at lunch on Friday she had homework from both lessons that she'd been to up until that point. She didn't understand her Maths either - she ended up doing it after we were allowed to leave tutorial (if we don't have assembly or one to one tutoring all we have to do is go to the room and get marked in, then we can go,) and she said she'd just guess it. She's got the teacher I had for GCSE and he doesn't explain stuff, just writes things on the board as if he's doing it for exercise. He basically patronised everyone who didn't get an A* saying that they would have to work their butts off then set them the work. I would think everyone struggles for a bit considering the jump from GCSE.

We have two teachers for each subject. I have Economics with a Maths teacher tomorrow. The teacher I had on Friday told us that he would be doing the parts of the course that involve Maths, but I hope he actually knows something about Economics too! The Maths part can't be outrageously hard as we didn't even have to have a C in GCSE Maths to take Economics.

She was really down the other day because quite alot of people dropped out of her meal and she was upset so hopefully it'll cheer her up if we put some banners and balloons up in the block and I made her a cake too :) Just like my Nans :D

I got my way round the guy that spoke to me really easily lol so it was okay

Lee Evans was amazing!!!!!!
Soooooooo funny! My jaws are killing and I've never laughed so much in 3 hours!
We got there and went for food on the high street in Cardiff first, then we all stopped into the Spar to buy some sweeties and I bought chewing gums and a freddo and the boy serving was a young turkish boy I think, he was young but older if you get my meaning? Haha and he went to hand me my Freddo but kept hold of it and wouldn't let go :( then he put it by the till so I couldn't get it and then he gave it to me.. he did it to all of us girls, but we were all jsut like :( nooo we want our sweets! Haha it was quite funny though.

I've had such an amazing time tonight :D It's really cheered me up, we were so close to him aswell and could have gone up and shoook his hand but we didn't because we didn't want to look silly if he jsut walked off ahah but yeah it was hilarious!!

Have you blocked emails from UCAS? If it doesn't work, ask the person in change of UCAS applications at your college to log in and verify it. They can access everybody's application.

Abbie

I dont know what you mean about application, Im not applying, Im just setting up my account and filling in details

Right. Somebody will still have access to your account once you have registered and given them your username.

You could always ring or email UCAS and ask them what's going on.

What a borinnnnnng day! I'm so sick of school already. I have way too many frees and not enough work to pass the time! I'll be glad of them when we get piles of coursework and essays to do though :)

Filled in my EMA form tonight too, but stuck at a hurdle as the money has to be before tax, and so if that's the case I can't get EMA. However, my Granch is self employed and so my Nan said it may work slightly different so she'll ring up tomorrow. I had better get it. I've been going in every morning getting soaked since we've been back so I can get my money backdated if I get it!

Abigail

My dad is self employed and we just put down his total earnings. It's no different to how you would do it if he was an employee.

Every 16-19 year old can claim EMA as long as their parents or guardians earn below the threshold.

Because we thought maybe at first it would be after tax deductions, and I would have qualified, but because it's before tax deduction, I won't qualify lol.
I'll still send it off anyways, it's worth a try!

There's a mouse loose in the house somewhere...means I'll have to get up in the middle of the night to separate cat and mouse again oh joy. And I'm tired...no idea why I got enough sleep last night. My new biology teacher is beyond annoying - I want the old one back. Also...some idiot beeped me when it was clearly dangerous for me to go to the road (because I was going right I had to cross two lanes) with that volume of traffic and so near a roundabout. He then proceeded to try and overtake me while I was crossing the two lanes and I ended up grinding my gears in an attempt to go faster so I wouldn't cut him up. It was raining too. He was lucky he didn't cause a crash!

Ouchies. I wasn't bothered by needles until the other week when I had to go to the dentist. I thought I was just going for a scale and polish but the x-rays they did the week before showed I need two fillings. Out came this ginormous (sp?) needle and that was it. The first time I had cried at the dentist. It wasn't the pain but the fact that I hadn't expected it, i've never had a filling before and didn't know it needed to be numbed. Now I'm cacking going back on the 23rd. :crying: Whenever someone mentions needles now I get all shivery. ):

No school today :D a main water pipe had burst and it happened to be the one we get our water supply from at school. So of course there was no toilets working and no lunches could be made. Got to school and one of our teachers was legging it down the road telling people to go home, they sent a message out on the radio but no one had heard it. Ended up going home at 10am.

And my phone's broke. ): Went down to the Orange shop to see what they could do and they told us we'd have to ring CS as we had ordered it online. Suprisingly they were really good (not had anything nice to say about Orange since I got a phone!) and are sending me a new one tomorrow! :D

I only have 7 frees by the time they sort out a core lesson they're making us all do. We have to do extension activities on a Wednesday which are all PE except for an eco group and young enterprise group. I put down for the young enterprise group which ended up not running this week as they didn't have a room sorted to do it in. I then went to the common room which is out of bounds on Wednesday and got kicked out even though I hadn't refused to do an activity, it just wasn't running.

Quite a bit of work this week to be honest. Luckily did most of my Psychology this afternoon though.

2 marks off of A* in Business as well as RE :( Gutted. Was offered a remark for Business but I don't think I can go for it, I don't need to stress about it all over again. A boy sent for one on exactly the same score as me last year and his stayed at an A so I don't think it's likely it'll go up either. 3 went up but they were D's to C's so I guess it's easier to find the marks there.

I've had an okay day today. First week in college always easy :p. One of my lecturers is the most boring teacher ever! She's lovely... but she's way too obsessed with powerpoint! Nearly sent me to sleep!

I've decided that I wanna go to uni next year. Either Glamorgan, Aberwystwyth or Swansea. Was looking earlier and Glamorgan has more what I wanna do. Tourism with French. Looks good (for me - not so academically gifted as a lot of you lol!), quite low entry requirements too (achievable for me)!

And.. cos I live in Wales and want to go to a Welsh uni the WAG pays have the fee, don't have to pay it back either. So instead of paying 3,145 (roughly) I only pay 1000 something! Well appealing!

Quite excited now. Hope I go.

Good on you Lea, hope you get into the one you want. I had a boring powerpoint to watch too.. copy off the board.. reminded me of lower school. The induction activity in business is starting to annoy me, it's a complete waste of time which one of our teachers says we don't have enough of as it is. Drawing made up tickets to a made up party which get rejected by quality control (teacher) if not 8cm by 8cm doesn't seem like my idea of fun. I got made "redundant" by my group and the one I had to move to had decided that they were doing a hawian theme party in a police station

Half-way through Corrie a friend turned up, absolutely distraught as she has split from her boyfriend. He has been quite nasty to her recently and is extremely jealous, so I think she has done the right thing, she thinks so too but is still very upset, naturally, as she really likes him. So lots of tea and sympathy and a bed for a night or two, probably. Just means I am very tired but I shall live. Being there for her is more important than my beauty sleep (only for a couple of nights, mind )

Ok day.. Business induction again which was annoying, now we have to do a slideshow on it! It's a complete waste of time and has nothing to do with the court so I will spend 5 minutes on the powerpoint when I get to school tomorrow I think. We were allowed to go 20 minutes early as the Psychology teacher decided she didn't want to start something today as it wouldn't be finished, so she said we'd spend the lesson on it tomorrow. Shame I had to wait for the bus which has way too many people on it this year.

I would have thought that as long as you have applied for a licence, you can watch tv. Must be like if your car tax is in the post. I presume you have got proof of buying your licence and if it does not state that you are not allowed to watch tv until you get your payment plan, then you should be able to switch on and enjoy your favourite programmes :)

Another pointless Economics lesson, I wish that teacher would teach us something from a sheet rather than playing pointless games with M&Ms and pieces of paper until the text books arrive. We have the first unit exam in January. Pointless report was set on the game which I won't even bother to proof read before handing in as it has nothing to do with the course.

Done my Psychology homework so have just started on my English research. My friend got a new girl from her Art class to come and sit with us and yesterday she wasn't there so I thought I'd get my friends back.. today she turns up again :(

Dad picked me up from the bus stop so I could go and play debt collector on his friend. He's owed my Dad money for about 5 weeks so I went in there and said, "I can't go out tomorrow night if you don't pay up," and he paid haha! Got the reputation as debt collector when I was in the pub with Dad and I asked for a blackcurrant lemonade and Dad said I couldn't have one. When I asked why he said it was because this mate hadn't paid him so I went up to him and said, "My dad won't get me a drink because you haven't paid him," and he went home, got his cheque book, came back and paid haha!

did they say they would be taking the first payment out of your account, did you give them your bank details etc and when you wanted to pay or did they say that would be all sorted out once they sent you the payment plan? if you gave them your bank details and eveything was sorted about how/when you were gonna pay and they are just sending you a copy of the plan (like detailing when payments were due and how much etc) then i would think it had been paid. however if you have to send something off about it when you get the plan then i would assume it hadnt, if that makes sense

I've had a bit of a rubbish day.. well it wasn't that bad but it was stressful. Had work. Wasn't that busy, but there was only lik 4 of us in the restaurant so it seemed busy! There was 2 serving food, 1 clearing tables and washing plates and stuff.. and then I was there doing both drinks and till!! Omg not again. Kept getting loads of queues for both, was trying to do both. Didn't need 2 serving food so that peed me off! People kept getting really crappy with me cause we ran out of cutlery, I ran out of change and didn't have time to get more! So they were saying " we can't pay for our food, can't eat it, what can we do" I have to stay polite and I was like they'll both only be like 2 mins, i'm sorry, if you sit down i'll bring your change and the cutlery to you... then the fanta finished so i had to change that while doing all that! Getting majorly stressed out!!!! People yelling at me! I was serioulsly SO close to crying it was unbelievable. I actually did have a tear! Just cause people were yelling at me and being mean lmao! :p. It really upset me lol!!! Then our manager came to help us so it was okay! So they all went out in the back to wash plates cos it was piling up and i was stuck out the front again doing drinks, till, clearing tables, serving food. (Wasn't that busy at the time) bt thats not the point, my manager cleared tables with me though so that was okay. I seriously hated it!!! AH *breatheS*

I had a horrible weekend - Friday lunchtime my powerpack on the laptop went and I was unable to get it fixed until today :crying: No emails and no Soapboards :( Busy at work today too, ready to go home now. The weather has turned realy cold, the heating in my office, which is temperature controlled has come on this morning and has stayed on all day, it was a bit sunny around lunchtime but mostly overcast.

There's a film crew a couple of doors down. I'm intrigued as to what they're filming. My sister reckons a DIY show because they were filming builders. It's a bit annoying though as they're taking up lots of car parking spaces! I had to park in the drive which is very hard to do!

I did all my work at school today. Nothing to do tonight :D

Got my provisional through the door this morning:Dx Also off to see a psychologist on thursday about my anger which is all good... thought the doctor hadn't made a referral but they had just not to see a councilor thats all lol. Today was fun actually, doing a discussive essay in English and I'm going to do it on the new school that the council is wanting to build on our playing fields (we'll be losing at least half of it) and we'll also won't have our bus park which will just leave to even more congestion of traffic on the Woodmill road but cause we're pretty sure the council will go ahead with it, one of the other reasons is cause they already own the land that our playing fields is on. But cause they're going ahead with that they're putting asto turf where our tennis court is so we will no longer have a tennis court. So yeah it's going to be interesting.

I have coursework, I only handed some in today! Applied courses are crazy amounts of work but my school don't do normal Business because they do Economics as well, which universities don't like. Also had to write a tragedy minisaga for English in exactly 50 words. I had 63 but I've cut it down now. Just got to print it off in the 6th form centre tomorrow as I have no ink. We have to pay £12 for ONE book for English! We have to have like four and we have to have that certain edition so we all know where we are with it. And that £12 is with the department subsidising part of it. Also got to finish my Economics work so pretty busy today, had loads of work over the weekend too.

First post from my new flat :D

Great flatmates, Kelly, Sophie, Craig and Jamie. I'm next door to Jamie (he's 27) and even though I've only known him for 48hrs I have to admit I really fancy him. We've just been talking in my room.

Anyway... had a mad evening. Our loans don't come through until Thursday so we've got no money to go out. All my flatmates are going home this weekend so I think I'm going to as well.

They do for text books, but they're making us pay for our books for English because we have no choice but to annotate them so that we can do the coursework and be able to answer the questions in the exam. Personally I find it ridiculous that it's £12 for a copy of Hamlet! This copy they're insisting we have is £22 to the school but that still contradicts a 6th form agreement that we have to sign. "The school will provide all equipment required for examination courses." English department aren't in my good books this year - they've already decided to teach a different syllabus to the one in the prospectus and they're changing one of the texts they said we were doing.

Today, loads more work. I was trying to do my Business coursework in my free but they've replaced about three quarters of the computers in the 6th form study room. The ones I got either didn't have word installed or wouldn't detect my USB so I couldn't have saved anything I did do so I could carry on with it tonight. I must have looked like I had ants in my pants, trying about 6 different computers.

We were given our Psychology text books so I have catching up to do with notes I haven't finished for that.

Economics - Homework that we can't do a question on until after next lesson

More trouble with the girl that bullied me non stop for a year and a half  I wouldn't think people who have nothing better to do than that would bother to stay and do A Levels

Got to registration this afternoon only for my tutor to announce. "There is a flasher. Girls, stay away from the alleyway." We also heard the flasher chased a Year 10 yesterday. Kind of scared, I wish my parents could drive me to school so I wouldn't have to go near the alley in question.

cant you tell the school about how they said stuff would be provided? i dunno what my school did for alevel english as i didnt do it, but at gcse we got given a book which might already have been annotated, we were told we had to write in pencil so that the next person could rub it out if they wanted. £22 seems really expensive just for one book, surely there are cheaper copies they could have asked you to buy?!

 We weren't allowed to write in the books at GCSE even in pencil. I can't say I was very confident about the question about the novel. We got to write in the anthology and were then given a clean one in the exam thankfully.

This version has really good notes in it apparently. It's surprisingly thin for something the school paid £22 for. I heard we're not allowed the annotations in the exam at A Level either under syllabus changes this year and that the school would provide a clean copy for the exam, but I'll believe that when I see it.

The agreement did say that if we thought the agreement was in breach then we should see the 6th form director, so I may well do that.

i think my year was the last year we were allowed to take annotated books into the exam, which was good cos id have failed otherwise lol! the only book we werent allowed to write in was the pride and predujice book for cw as it was new and they wanted to use it in the other years which werent allowed notes

I don't think some of my class even went as far as to do what you did, probably explains why some of them got C's and D's for it and the head of English was coming in and having a go at them for not putting effort into it.

I'm having a really bad day. Last night started out pretty rubbish until we found a couple of people outside our flat. We invited them in and chatted then I went downstairs and found some more people. The party really started to get going. Apparantly, this guy who I found outside knows me from facebook. To cut a long story short, his flatmates ended up in our kitchen cooking egg fried rice at some stupid hour, made a huge mess then buggered off and left us to clean it up. That doesn't really bother me though (even though there is rice all over our flat). I went downstairs with Jamie and he said he wants to leave halls. Being slightly drunk, I think I came across as a bit more than the friend who doesn't want a flatmate to leave. He got on really well with Kelly last night, I think he likes her.

To cap it all off, the fire alarm went off at 9.30am this morning  I had a lecture on employment at 10am which I skipped because I had a massive headache due to being woken up by the alarm.

Jamie has gone home today until Sunday. The other two are leaving on Friday so it will be just me and Kelly until Sunday night. Sounds like I'm jealous, maybe I am a bit. All I know is that I'm having a crap day and just want to cry.

Sorry for the moan.

awwww sorry to hear youre having a bad day, hopefully tomorrow will be better :) fire alarms are annoying! luckily i lived in a house on campus so ours never went off cos they were separate for each house. some of my friends who lived in the colleges were being woken up at least once a week though at about 3am cos of the fire alarms! now our fire alarm keeps going off whenever we have a shower!

Haven't been up to much today with school, it's boring doing the same thing everyday. The fire alarm went off twice which doesn't really happen but it sucked cause we hardly done any work at all cause of it i wouldn't be saying that if it was any other subject but i need to get an A In Int 2 Admin to go on and do Higher Admin in college next year lol. Then just been out with my friends, came in filled in my forum for going to see the psychiatrist... it wasn't a councellor my doctor put me into see but a psychiatrist. Then just on here and msn and listening to music, I'm not really tired but i'm going to have to go to bed soon anyway.

Today I tried to find the motivation to check coursework which didn't happen as I'd already done Psychology and Economics work. Got my English homework too so busy day tomorrow. Thankfully we finish at 12 because of open evening so I'm going to my friend's house. It was pretty lucky she invited me otherwise I would have been stuck hanging round on my own because of the stupid bus times. Hoping the normal school bus turns up otherwise I will have to pay even though I'm paying £360 for a pass and the bus at 4 doesn't even go as far as the school one.

Eek Tannie that's a high entry requirement!

My day has just got even better. The shower is only running cold water :crying: I'm starting to wish that I was going home tomorrow for the weekend. Next weekend I think I'm going to go up and stay with my sister at her new house next to the beach. It's going to cost me two weeks' worth of money but I'm going spare here already. We're so far away from everything, nearest supermarket is two miles away, my lectures are in a building nearly two miles the other way and the SU bar is a mile away. Guess thats the price to pay for en suite accommodation.

I'm going to stop moaning now, it's not productive.

I'm going to stop moaning now, it's not productive.

awwwww no! it will get better though :) our shower was running cold one day, i hate cold showers! although it wasnt as bad as our friends house whos showers didnt work for 4 days! they had to use our shower, 10 people trying to use the same shower wasnt fun! does your uni not have a campus then? i cant believe your house isnt near anything! will you have to get a bus to your lectures? when i was thinking about going to liverpool for uni my course was taught on the everton campus yet all the facilities where on the main campus in liverpool, there was accomodation at both but i wasnt sure which one would have been best. in the end i decided not to go there even though the course was good. hope today is better for you :)

My halls are about half an mile away from the other halls and houses on campus. The campus is split in two by a road with the halls and a few buildings on my side and the other buildings on the other. There is a short cut so it saves about ten minutes.

Today has been better than yesterday.

Glad you are feeling better. I am sure that everything will be fine in a short time, you need time to readjust and they say that once you have travelled a route a couple of times, it tends to become shorter and shorter :D In a couple of weeks you think you have never lived anywhere else, I am sure. :D

I've had rather a good day today. Started with the most boring lecture ever, but the fire alarm went off half way through so our teacher just let us go after it :cheer: Really saved us. One of my mates actually fell asleep .

One of my mates said I'd lost loads of weight :s I can't see it myself, but hey, it was nice of her to say :p.

Hyper in my other two lessons, think my lecturers are getting annoyed with me and my hyperness  but I can't concentrate in college so just get hyped up then do work at home :p.

Financial worries at the moment! Neeeeed to find like a million jobs!!!!

Went to see a pshycologist today and we spoke and to be honest it was great talkiing about all my problems or stuff that we might think might be the problem of my anger. Then went to debenhams to see if they had sponges that i might be able to use for my camoflague foundation and she said i could use a brush for it and it's really good you can't see the scar on my face at all :Dx
Also got Virginia Andrews - Flowers In The Attic, Cause im doing my personal study on it.

Ouch, wasps are horrible things :(

I had a random conversation between the carpark and my college. Some guy asked me for the time and then started chatting. I was so surprised  Barely anyone ever says hello in london let alone start up a conversation

Had a chat on facebook (I hate the new design!) with a friend who I haven't seen for a few months (what with her dropping history and me being busy over summer) and yeah...nice to catch up!

I got lynched by the car wash people at Sainsbury's  To be fair my car was quite dirty and it was only a fiver. :p

School was... good. Most talk was about last night which was funny. Me and a few of the girls went into the "study room" and was dancing and that lol.

Dancing was fun tonight aswell, me and another girl were having a giggle because I rebelled because I couldn't see what our teacher was doing because one of the others was in the way and when I asked them to move they didn't so I decided not to co-operate, so she ended up being moved away from me lol. Ahhh funny night :) One of those "you ahd to be there" things :D

Got my friends 18th tomorrow. She's having a house partyyy. Ahh more drunken tales ahead!

Been back to school for like 2 weeks and I've already caught a cold and sore throat :(

We're getting computer predicted grades next week. I wonder what ridiculous ones they give me this time. The computer ones for my GCSE's were like 2A's, 4B's C/D in Business and the rest C's. Business ended up being my strongest subject.

Nothing much to report today, had a different bus driver and all I can say is I hope we have the other one back on Monday! There was only one bell on the bus because it was more like a coach type thing and I couldn't get to it with the way he was driving; people almost falling off of their seats.

Thankfully the bus did turn up at 3 yesterday so I could use my pass. My friend has got a whole loft conversion to herself since I was last round there. It's massive!

Going to see some relatives soon so I am going to go on the tredmill, have a shower, get ready, do some homework and then I will be off for the evening! x

Any students on here without sore throats? lol

Mum's just been on at me for another payment for that bus pass.. the only money I have is my inheritence! Still nothing from EMA. We finished at 12 on Thursday because the school had an open evening so they better not refuse to pay us all the backdate.

Was supposed to be meeting a friend who left the school about 3 years back today.. went into town (£1.40 because the cheaper bus doesn't run on Saturday ) waited an hour and a half and she didn't show. Her Nan rang my house earlier because she hadn't arrived home. Me and my parents think she used me as a cover to go and meet up with someone her Nan wouldn't approve of.

Had a headache most of the day so couldn't be bothered to do homework. I managed half of my Psychology so just the other half to do.

Just got back from my friends 18th house party :)
It was really fun! No-one was drunk or that but everyone was ...well merry. Haha his Mum and Dad are respectable people like high class so it was mannerish to be good :)
They hired out a karaoke machine which had like every song you could think of! Haha... I couldn't get off there, and apparently I'm alright at it ahah. We all had to sit down and his Mum and Dad had put together a video from all different times when he was younger which was sooo funny! There was a bit when he was like 3 in a thunderbirds costume watching thunderbirds doing a thunderbird dance, It was so cute lol and then riding his bike but he nudged the back of a car (parked car) and like fell off ahah, it was really thoughtful though :) Awww such a good night!
The sore throat and blocked nose has kicked in for the night, darn it, think I'll have to get the Olbas Oil out.

Have to go though as I need my EMA backdate to pay for my bus pass and if I miss a day I don't get any :( I hate the whole system; people who don't care what grades they get and who just spend the money on booze and stuff still get the money and I have to drag myself out of bed when I feel this just so it will pay for my bus pass.

Had a crap day today tbh. Was at work, and I swear i'm getting really over-sensitive these days . I was on the servery with my mate, and we were quiet all day, but then LOADS of people came in and we kept running out of things, and we had to ask the cook for stuff and she can get quite annoyed by it and kinda lashes out.. she's lovely really, but when the queues went I had to ask for lots of stuff (my turn), and she yelled at me and was like, one of the microwaves is broken WHY are you only asking me now? I was like, well there was a big queue, i'm sorry not my fault blah blah, but it really upset me the way she shouted at me, cos she never been liike that before  so I went for a fag and had a few tears to myself  so stupid when I think about it now. Think it's cos i'm tired! I keep going to bed at stupid o'clock cos I can't sleep!

Some mates are doing my head in, keep wanting to go out all the time, and I know I could say no, but whenever I do they go on and on and on and on and ON, phoning my mob like 50 times, texting like 50 times, phoning my house phone like 50 times! After I've already said no saying "aw go on it will be fun you'll enjoy it"... YEAH WITH NO FREAKING MONEY COS YOU KEEP MAKING ME GO OUT! I feel like I HAVE to say yes!!!! PRESSURE ISN'T A GOOD THING! So I went out yesterday and it was CRAP! It was with my 2 mates who are together and my other mate who's bf was down as he's in the navy and I just felt like a gooseberry all night, and I wasn't in the mood to go out anyway, so when we went to the club I was being boring and not dancing much and my mates bf kept going on about how boring I am... I was completely sober anyway so it was just rubbish the club is rubbish anyway! Then the others were laughing cos they were "dancing" when they blatantly weren't! So I just thought FREAK it I'm going... so I went!

One of those mates (one of the ones who rings all the time if I say I don't want to go out) borrowed 20 quid off me the other week, and hasn't given it back yet, and I'm not asking for it because this other girl lent her like LOADS of money nearly 100 quid, and hasn't given any back yet and said its cos she keeps going on about it all the time! She says shes skint yet finds the money to go out all the freaking time!!!!! DOING MY HEAD IN tbh. Spesh as my other mate (not mates with these ones) wants me to do stuff with her all the time, and she gets really stressy with me if I don't... it's like MONEY DOESN'T GROW ON TREES YA KNOW! I have flaming college work to do, work to go in to at the weekends, mates that stalk me til I agree to go out! I HAVEN'T GOT THE ENERGY ANYMORE!!!!! So if she does it anymore, and then says that I don't care about her and do I want to be her mate anymore then I'm just gonna end up saying NO PEE OFF you sad pathetic DUCK, grow up, your 19 not 9!!!!!!!!

College tomorrow, can't be assed, too tired, have work to do which I'm not in the mood for.. probs stay up late to do the freaking thing though! Then fall asleep in lectures tomorrow and if they ask why they can pee off! I actually might end up walking out of college tomorrow due to being so peed off from the weekend and college!!

AHHHH don't expect anyone to read ALL this... just HAD to write it all down and get it out before I punch something and do some major damage.

Aww Lea your mates don't seem to be good at giving money back. One of my mates and her sister both owe me £3 which I won't see (I didn't intend to lend any because I left a fiver at her house as I decided I didn't want to take it to the School Fete incase I spent it, and when I asked for it she conveniently said she couldn't find it. This £3 each thing was when we all went on the cyclone at the fair and the man running it took it all out of my £10 note.)

Had a pretty crap day. To sum it up (as best as I can).
1) I miss my big group of mates, everyone's pretty much gone of places and there's only 4 of us together now (the girls).. and 3 of them have study lesson together and cba to wait for me to go lunch together with them. Nice. I personally, not even lying, would wait for them. Oh and they would rather go without be because the signing out for lunch register thing is just outside the study centre so they can sign out 10-20mins before lunch. Ahh well, what comes around goes around SOMEHOW :) That is pretty much my motto.

2) This boy who lives down my road (who used to sit next to me in English) constantly keeps messing around and 'picking' on my height.. I just laugh it off and tbh sometimes it is really funny and I end up laughing..:o I just see why get all angry and upset when I can just laugh it off you know, I like to be quite optimistic like that.. And even today the teachers (well every lesson) always keep saying why do you keep picking on her, lay off! Obviously it's all very light hearted but I nearly got so p***ed off today so I remained silent and tried to do my work.. Ahh well, there's days where I feel like this and then other days I get by. Today is one of those days!

3) I really need a Maths tutor  I love my Maths teacher though, he's so sweet and I stayed behind lesson (again) to ask for helped and he gladly explained it to me, bless - I just hope he can put up with me for the rest of the year :rotfl:

I think there was something else but I can't remember.. Off to do my homework which I have PLENTY off! x

Gahh i hate mondays (n) wayy sucky.
Except today was okayy because my like bestest friend who i met on the internet a couple of months ago (if that makes sense lol) has invited me to stay at her house for her birthday weekend which is dead exciting! (:

Anyways - random question - college, does your high school give you the information about open days and such? We were told that college apps have to be in pretty quick in the year but we've had no info so far.

.:SpIcYsPy:.
22-09-2008, 18:44
Ahh your reminded my Hollie - thanks :D! One of the goods things that happened today is that this boy who sits next to me in Business got asked by my Business teacher to help out at the opening evening.. And he was like 'Erm I don't know, they are in like Year 6's right?..' and I started laughing because Sir had only asked him and then he said 'Oh you too' to me.. And then I just stopped laughing & apparently my face fell so hard that my mate started laughing as soon as I stopped.. But yeah.. I said I would do it if he came too.. And I think he's going to help so yeah! I feel so privilaged because only us two got asked :o.. :) x

Oh and Hollie.. I think I mostly did my own research on other colleges, school didn't really help but if you ask whoever sorts that thing out or go to the library (which is where I found booklets and application forms for some colleges/6th forms) then yeah! No open day, only if your school have their own 6th form. :) x

 My friend's birthday party is from 12 til 5 on Sunday. There's no buses from in town to her place on a Sunday so it'll be about 3 hours on a bus in total and will cost about £10. I have to spend about £20 on presents for her so I don't really have the money for that; any other day I could get there for £2.50 ish. Sunday times are stupid too, 1 bus every 2 hours.

More coursework today, surprise surprise. I did my English homework at lunch as it was only a family tree for the characters in Hamlet so at least that's out the way. More time to concentrate on the rest.

Me too, I've been thinking that since I met these girls who live 2 minutes from the school, lol. It's mainly annoying because I live out of town but it's always worse on Sunday. My dad would do it but he isn't free until about 2 because he always goes to golf on Sunday; he wouldn't not go on my 16th so he's not going to not go on my friend's 17th, which is actually the Monday but she put the party on Sunday; she's taking Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Music for A Level so she has a lot of work in the week lol!

You can apply to as many places as you like, then take the one you want after you get your results. Someone I know applied for 3 different places because they had different courses and he didn't make a final decision on which subjects he wanted to take until results came out. I think he went somewhere that was doing German in the end; my school aren't running it this year because there weren't enough people who wanted to take it.

No pain! I had no clue either..
The teachers recommended that we apply min 3 max 5 places. I only applied to one (my sixth form) and really luckily I got it.. x

Yeah, that's a good point. My friend applied to a college which had lower entry requirements for the courses she wanted to do than my school. To do a subject for A Level at my school you needed a B in it, but at the college my friend applied for you only had to get a C for it. 2 of my subjects had no set entry requirements other than 5C's, so I only needed a C in English Language and C in Maths for Psychology and BB in English to do English Literature, so I was pretty confident I'd get that and I only applied for the one place. My friend wasn't so sure of getting a B in Maths so she applied for the college because of that. She got an A in the end so she stayed put but if you're not so confident having a back up is a good idea.

Bloody cold! I wish it would leave me aloneee!
Alright day, sat and drank tea in the block with 2 of the girls this morning and just had a chat :) We ahd chocolate chip cookies and halfway through one my friend said "Oh I really need to go on a diet" and I was just like " S**t I forgot I'm already on mine today!!" So I left the cookies then lol.
Was a good day thoguh... it was quite relaxed.

Then dancing... oh the joys, not. It's jsut got so bitchy and I don';t like it... 2 of the favourite girls started bitching about one of the other girls singing... then another girl heard (as did I) but she asked them what they;d said and they denied it!! Grr it makes me mad, that's not jsut her voice they're knocking.. it's her confidence and everything she loves doing and there's no need for it.. luckily she didn't hear (but she's a good singer anyways so it's just them beign jealous!!) I was going to say something but I really didn't want to cause a scene, but if anythings said again I'll jsut tell them straight what idiots they're being :)

Argh I cannot find a job! Thats whats annoying me most! I went in to a shop today that ahd vacancies but because I';m still in school they said I wouldn't be flexible enough. Blergh. Never mind... I'll keep trying, but I'm actually unemployable!

That reminds me. We had to do a Psychology experiment on some 6th formers (participants had to be at least 16) so we went into the common room and one of the girls I was in a group with was asking her friends to do it. The participants had to sign a consent form and one didn't really want to do it so she signed her name with a swear word in the middle. Bet you can all guess which one. We had to redo the consent form!

hehe, that made me laugh!

thankyouu! (: i think i know where i'm going to apply - St Mary's College in Blackburn, as i go to a Catholic High School (although i'm not Catholic myself) i apparently have more chance getting in (:

if you look on the colleges websites it should tell you when the open days are, if not phone up and they will be happy to let you know. my school only let us know when their open day was. also im not sure if its different for different parts of the country but we didnt have to do our applications til end of march, schools wouldnt accept people after that but the colleges still did if there were spaces left, my sis decided to leave 6th form after yr12 and finish her alevels at college, she didnt apply til the end of august and got in, although its best to do it earlier just in case! my school told us only to apply to 1, but i applied to 3 different 6th forms, even went to all their taster days and then decided which one i wanted to go to after i got my results. i know that if your predicted grades are the same as what you need to do the subjects then school 6th forms will accept you so you dont really need a backup, not sure how it works with colleges though

Had a horrible day. ): Another trip to the dentist - and i still have to go back. I've never had problems with my teeth until we swapped to this dentist and now he tells me i've holes in the bottom of some of my teeth, he only knew this after my check up and did an x ray.

But i went today for a filling in one of my bottom back teeth and he started getting stuff ready and by this time i was absolutely dreading the needle - which to be honest is the only thing i was worried about - but this time wasn't so bad as he put it in my cheek rather than my actual gum. So all day i've been talking like my tongue's too big for my mouth! But anyways, he started drillig and washing my tooth and i was in agony, he said put your left hand up if you feel any pain and i'm not kidding when i say i nearly flew outta the chair, it hurt sooooo bad. He had to stop and said he'd put this medicine in - something hydroxide - and a temp. dressing until next time when he'd have to either carry on or do root canal or even take the tooth out if i couldn't bear that. It sounds from this like i have really bad teeth which tbh I don't!

I officially HATE the dentist!

So now i'm dreading going back even more!!

Yesterday we were set a Psychology report which had to be in today! I stsrted it in my free and we're supposed to have an electronic learning environment so we can download the files and finish work at home.. it wouldn't work. Had to do half of it when I got home without reading back through what I'd written and then piece it together when I got to school. So glad I got it done as the teacher is threatening to chuck the people who didn't off the course!

Today - Dad got a new phone and wanted some ringtones from his old phone onto his new phone. I had to put my SIM card into his old phone so they could be bluetoothed over and I went to put it back in my phone afterwards and it kept saying insert sim. Parents had about 5 attempts between them but it wouldn't work and my dad had to ring 02 and get them to send me a SIM card that would allow me to keep the same number... 3 days!! It's quicker if you're on my contract :( I don't think it's fair that it's quicker to them, I couldn't be on a contract if I wanted to be. Going to get seriously bored on the bus without my music, none of the people on there speak to me.

Pants day.
I've seriously lost all interest in school, I just don't understand anything!... apart from RE, but I still struggle in that!
I can't even write my flipping personal statement grr.
Then at dinner they were all on about going to the cinema and my one friend (who is extremely annoying and has now suddenly become chummy chummy with us all again now her boyfriends in UNi) was like "awww you should come", I was like " Yeah well for starters I wasn';t even invited and everyones car is full now!... How nice to be asked eh? My other friend didn't either... no-one would even mention it in front of us but I knew something was going on!! Why keep it secret, ughhh my friends act about 2 years old!

Still looking for a job, not going well. Thats another thing that annoyed me!!
A girl in my year got the cinema job but I completely forgot but she was saying how she had a different interview from somewhere else and she had a trial on Saturday so I congratulated her as you do abd she was like "I don't even want the cinema job anyways!!"... then my other friend came over and was like "don't quit the cinema.. you'll have so many people wanting to throttle you if you do lol" I was like ":O YEAH ME!".
It jsut winds me up.. why did she go for it if she didn't even want it? It's unfair on the people who really wanta job and are willing to put all their effort and more into it! It jsut winds me up :(

If she didn't take the job, you could always ring up the cinema and say "Hi, as XXXX hasn't taken up her position as XXXX, would it be possible to be reconsidered for the position?". Might as well make the most of her not taking the position!!
