That's the bit I'm not looking forward to... smelling of chip fat! I'm going to be working til 10, meaning I'll have to come home and have a shower at that time of night, I hate having showers that late!

Boss is alright though, I know her quite well so it's okay.

Abigail
07-01-2008, 17:46
Yeah, that was my problem. I had to work random hours, 7.30pm to 8.30pm Monday to Saturday. I had to walk a mile into town for £3 an hour then walk another mile back after I'd finished work.

My bosses were foreign and whatever I did for the woman it wasn't right. She used to tut at me constantly.

Wow that's not worth it really. The chippy is only 5 mins away from me ha.

Really? Did you quit in the end?

First day back and I already have coursework to do :( Teacher's making us all redo pieces as a class. I was perfectly happy with the one I did the first time, but now I have a book to read, an exam on the 24th and a piece of coursework due in on the 16th. No way any of that will be done at the weekend.

Got some mock results back and I'm quite happy so far; high B in English, A* in Geography DME and 11/21 in Chemistry. Quite pleased with that considering everyone struggled due to the apparently harder topics being on the paper, and I hardly revised. We're the first to do the new syllabus so it was a bit of a pick and mix thing for the teachers to set the paper.

Biology, History, Maths and Business results to come tomorrow.. really don't want to know about some of them!

Here comes a night full of work...

Abigail

Yeah, I did. I went to Germany for three weeks, told them the day before I was going even though it was planned for a few weeks. I had a feeling they wouldn't let me go if it wasn't a "family emergency." When I came back I went down and told them I couldn't come back.

I forgot to mention the bit about them roping me in to clean on a Saturday morning. There was a prep room thar's about three times the normal room height and I had to clean the tiles from top to bottom every Saturday. I almost fainted several times climbing on the work tops and stretching.

I must have been good though, a few months after I left they rang up asking me to go back. I said no.

Not a bad day, done a fair bit of revision. Just need to finished my business notes then I'm going to have a shower and get into bed :D

Still having problems with the guy from new year. He keeps texting me saying he's sorry and he's ruined our friendship and he's in love with me  I was just like, woah okaaaaaaay then, have you been drinking? Why can't he just accept that I don't want to be with him instead of making things hard for both of us?

An alright first day back but I have tons of work to do for tomorrow. I got to finish off my ICT write up, finish off my Media case study (which is crap).. and I got to do some of my Drama portfolio, as well as check over some English work...i'm doing my ICT work now.

Quite a gurrrrd day today. Me and my mate had a hyper fit at the end of the day, was hugely funny :p. Was funny with my other mates in lessons too. Funny day :p. Not much work got done. Uh-oh :p.

One of my teachers is kinda weird.. we were sitting up on the balcony and she went passed, she was like "Leanne come here a minute.." so I went over to her and she randomly asked me if I still liked Lee Mead.. I said yes and she said she had a surprise for me :s. So we were in last lesson with her but she never mentioned it again :searchme:. I think she's losing it :p.

First two exams today, went better than expected. I've got the rest of the week off now, no teacher tomorrow morning and I'm not going to biology in the afternoon. Exams on Friday afternoon so we get the morning off.

Might watch a film now and do some revision later.

Okay..... Had first exam today, it was biology, I thought it was okay but I did find it hard so I have no idea how I did and then afterwards I had biology for 2 housr lol!! Well he talked what unit two was and then we sorted out who is doing what for coursework and then we got let go, only took less than an hour so I caem home.
I have more exam on monday morning and then Im going to really start thinking what I want to do, I have no idea and need help

College is as bad as I thought it would be... i'm shot already! mind you i've not been tking it easy as instructed though :s. I had a new geography teacher on monday and she was excellent and i've realised how bad my other one is. I have no idea how i'm gonna get through this exam, it's 2 weeks away and it's only 7.5% of my grade but i'm still feeling rather stressedabout it when i should be stressing about the other one!

Skived this afternoon to carry on my revision. Good enough excuse not to go to a lesson I think. First week back and I've been in for four hours of lessons :D

Some idiot set the firm alarm off ten minutes before the end of school on Tuesday. Ten minutes, how pointless is that?? And it was raining and the field is a mud bath :thumbsdow:

Revision is so boring, I'm going to play a game.

I had my first week back at work after the Christmas holidays and I have lost my glasses somewhere in the house. I'm like blind Ali without them when it comes to reading print so I have been the butt end of a few jokes this week. I have an appointment at the optictians on Tuesday to get new specs. Lord knows where I have placed them

Kim
12-01-2008, 13:49
I bet they turn up as soon as you get a new pair! Everything always has with me, apart from when I was about 5 or something and I wanted to play with my Gran's house keys for some reason and she gave them to me, I put them somewhere and she never found them.

I chose my birthday cake today. I wanted a photo cake but I didn't realise you had to have a photo with you so that they could do it. I did actually have the photo with me, the only problem was that it was on my phone  So I have a me to you one.

Some cards came through the post for me today and my friend wrote England on the envelope where she should have written Wiltshire  I'm surprised it got here.

I got a letter from Canterbury uni today to arrange an interview. I've emailed the woman but I'm a bit reluctant to go because its five hours away by train and car. I've applied for two courses there so I guess I'll have to go. Next time I'm going to do my homework before I apply somewhere instead of guessing and thinking Canterbury is just north of London.

Didn't you sit on your glasses?

The water pressure on the boiler has dropped to almost 0. My mum thought she could smell gas. So we've turned the boiler off to be safe. No heating or hot water until we can get an emergency boiler person..

It's getting a bit chilly. Time for a jumper I think :p

Boilers are a pain, especially when they choose this time of the year to go wrong. The pressure on ours went down the other week and my mum had to boil the kettle for me about 5 times so that I could do my hair. We never had a scare with gas though; just the new cooker putting out an awful lot of air the other day.

Just had my mate round with birthday present and card. Was talking for quite a while about random stuff. I think I've managed to misplace one of my cards :( Must see if my mum's put it anywhere while cleaning up...

Yeah it is! Kath told me that yesterday :D We were in Row U though. The highest Row you can get  :p

The boilers only 3 and a half years old so I think it should be still under garauntee. I don't think I could be patient enough to boil a kettle five times! I suppose a cold shower will wake me up quicker in the morning...

Kim
12-01-2008, 16:07
 But really, that kind of wake up call isn't necessary on a Sunday.

I'm pretty sure your boiler should still be under guarantee - my dad says boilers ought to last 10 years at least, so there should be at least a 5 year warranty.

I can't stay up too late tonight :( My aunt is phoning at 11 (she does on birthdays and Sundays so she can kill two birds with one stone this year,) so I have to have opened my presents from her by then so I know what to thank her for. My friends are also arriving at half 12 as one has to leave at quarter past 5. My mum says I won't like one present from my aunt, and going by the CD she gave me for Christmas, I'm not hopeful. I know I have lindors from her too as she gets them every year so I'll like part of what she's given me at least.

Sings: **I am feeling on top of the world baby.. on top of the world **

I am like 3 long pieces of coursework ahead of the whole class.. and I got 2 A*'s on 2 of them and have to improve my other one a bit more and then I will have another A* on me.. In Drama coursework.. worth 60%!.. So I feel good..

In Business I am doing well coursework wise too and I am ahead of the class (not by far though).. ICT is going alright, last years coursework was an A standard and miss reckons it will be the same this year too..

I have a Science coursework to do for next week which was given to us today, I got an A in my last one and was really proud of that (first A ever in Science!) so hopefully wanna try doing the same or even getting an A*!

I'm a coursework freak at the moment haha!

Meh.. it seemed like Saturday yesterday because of my birthday.. I really did not want to go to school today! I took cake into school to give to the friends who had to leave early yesterday, and I was just giving it out when the fire bell went off! It was lunchtime and we were aware they don't plan fire practices for that time, so we were all like !

Loads of coursework for Media by Wednesday. We have done all the coursework but some people have like E's on theirs, so we have to do it again. I was quite happy with my last piece, although I'm not sure how many times I will have to nag my teacher before he tells me my overall grade for my coursework.

Also have a History essay to write and research from last week's homework that I wasn't there to get.. fun!

I didn't get my Maths mock back so that was good. I so failed that one.. it was worse than science which I didn't revise for. I think we're going through the Business paper tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to. I'm dying to know my mark out of whatever; all I know is I got an A* So happy with that, I just hope I get the same in June.

Was total worrying today. Exams start next monday althrough im only in 3 days plus tuesday as i need to see my computing and history teachers. Got to write 2 essays this week. Aww, good luck Tannie. I have a Geography DME next week too - I have to miss the last lesson prior to the exam for my Gran's funeral. I want to do well in the exam, but I can't miss the funeral. Ah well, there are other qualifications and I won't get another chance to say goodbye so what I get in it is what I get. Will be bricking it for the final things in May/June though.

I have quite a few essays to be done, and I have written a title for something that isn't even an essay.

Kim

Yeah, I struggled to concentrate but was forced to go in. I did go for some days but I don't think I'm really ready to work. Great time for me to get an essay related to medicine as well. I don't know what I'll be like after the funeral; it could result in me taking more days off. I only went back because my mum wouldn't have wanted me under her feet on her birthday and now she's making me go in.

I've got another migraine, third in less than a month. I had one on boxing day and another on new year's eve. I'm getting really fed up of them. I really wish I knew what is triggering them, my GP thinks it's hormone related.

I got a letter asking from Canterbury uni asking me to ring the university to arrange an interview time. I got an email back from the woman today and I have to be there for 11am which is a bit of a problem as I live five hours away. I think it's unfair to expect anybody to drive me down there for 11am and drive back in the same day. I'll have to go down on the train the day before and arrange some accomodation, its going to cost me a fortune. I'll gt my train fairs reimbursed from school but I don't think they cover accomodation or food costs. I really don't know if I should go for the interview.

I thought I did ok on one of my physics resits, particles, on Friday. When I got home I realised that some of the constants I used were the wrong ones. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to explain that to my teacher tomorrow when I told him it went well when I saw him after the exam.
I completely failed the mechanics exam for the third time.

Kim
14-01-2008, 22:40
Aww; I hate that feeling after the exam that you've done it all wrong. I left a really obvious question out in Biology and felt terrible, and I always think of what I've done wrong in Maths and then think I've failed it. I'm sure you've done better than you think.

Eek, that's a bit of a pain then. I think it's very unfair; surely they know how far away you live; they must have looked at where it was they were sending the letter to ask you to contact them, surely.

I'd go for the interview if you can; you never know if the uni will appeal to you more than the others you've applied for.

We sat on a bench a talked for a bit then I got a message from another mate (we're friends with "benefits") saying he'd finished work and where was we meeting (prearranged). I wasn't in any fit state to go anywhere on my own so I ended up telling this lad about my arrangement with the "benefits" guy, including the fact that he has a girlfriend and I don't fancy him.

My second lesson was cancelled, but I didn't really feel like going shopping (plus I don't have the money) so I stayed at college, got break, read the metro, then read my book for the next three hours. Was actually quite nice.

Physics was totally pointless, I just filled out forms for tv audiences because he let us loose on the computers. My friend informed me that she had a spare ticket to the eviction of celebrity hijack so I jumped on the bandwagon :p

My mum's threatening to take away my internet 'priveleges' away from me, so if you don't see me on here for a while, that's why. I'm going to make a study plan to keep her happy for the time being...I don't think she gets that I'm not as clever as my sister  I can't wait to go to Uni.

His girlfriend knows he's been seeing other girls, she just chooses to ignore it. Its not really my problem if she's in denial. That sounds selfish but she knows what he's been upto and if she's not going to do anything about it then thats her lookout.

I haven't spoken to him for a few days. I am having second thoughts about what we're doing.

As for the old lad... he's turning into a stalker. He just won't leave me alone, he keeps texting me during the night asking to meet up to talk. I've tried ignoring him but he won't give up. I'm just worried that when we meet up next in our group he's going to make it awkward.

I've emailed the woman with my contact details and she said she will ring me to arrange a time for my interview.

I wish I was in your class. I love dissecting things. I'm usually first in with the scalpel :D We've done pig's heart, kidney, lungs and a fish.

The fish was good, we had to take the swim bladder out without popping it. I filleted mine afterwards and took the spine out.

Got an information pack from Canterbury today. I've decided not to go to the interview and sack that course but still go for the other course there which doesn't require an interview.

My niece has got a baby tortoise. She's called it everything from Casper to Scooby Doo :rotfl: It's her baby sister.

had a mixed day today. it started off bad, i had a seminar at 11 and didnt wake up til 10 and seeing as i should really get the 10.05 bus to get me there on time that wasnt a good start! managed (somehow!) to shower and everything in 15mins so i was able to get the 10.20 bus and just managed to get there on time! plus it was really raining and the wind was so strong i actually nearly got blown away lol! but then it got better as i had a 4hr practical lesson and we are doing slapstick so we were learning how to do different rolls and dive over people and it was really fun! :D then went cheerleading and we are doing a competition so i cant wait. overall a busy day

The heart dissection was actually quite fun. Me and my friend had such a laugh, we only had to do two cuts, and then the teacher said we could do whatever we wanted with it for 5 minutes. So we cut it open properly and then poked holes in it with the scalpel. :p :p It was funny though. And not as grose as I thought it would be.

Had an AWESOME day :)
Went to one of them photoshoot things with a friend, got make-up done, hair done, nails done with a constant supply of Bucks Fizz! Then had our pictures taken (me and a friend went together as we both had this voucher thing we bought like last year!) Got to put on our different outfits with different setting (stairs/backgrounds etc) Then we picked the photos and got a right bargain i ended up coming away with 9 photos
And we're going back again, because if you spent £25 on makeup you got a free photoshoot - so we did!!!
My hair and eye make up looked gorgeous - even if i do say so myself :P

Horrid day again. I can't just keep staying home, certainly not this year. My mum made me go in today and I got in the taxi crying, so the driver asks if I'm ok. Obviously I wasn't so I said I was upset. And he said he didn't understand why I was upset, so I just flipped and just shouted something like, "If it was your gran that died last week, what would you do?!" He knows perfectly well she died because my mum told him  So he starts having a go at me telling me not to upset the boys, like I was putting it on or something

He gets on my buttons enough normally; the taxi stinks, he says, "yes?" after everything, he's the slowest out of all the drivers I've ever had and he'd rather sit in the primary school car park all night than get out of the car. I'm getting home 10 minutes later than I used to and there's one less child in there. I can't put up with it any more and I keep crying over it.

Katy

I have an exam later bricking it no idea what to expect, going to go to the library to revise before it though, which is why i am up at this ridiculas time. Feeling a bit nervous now, then we are going to look at a house, it looks an ideal one, so hopefully we may be on to something, i know a lot of people have all ready found property so we should get a move on. well wednesday and thursday i didnt do anything, and i mean i actually did nothing! i slept til lunchtime then dossed around in my pyjamas all day on the computer lol! next week i really need to try and get work done on the days i have off! yesterday had a lecture which was ok and the lecturer gives out handouts so thats good lol i hated my lecturer last term cos he didnt give out handouts or even have a slideshow. then i meet up with my practical group and we watched the video we had to watch. then went cheerleading where they made us run round the sports hall for 10mins! which was horrible although they didnt make us do pressups or anything like that yesterday so thats ok

today im up early cos i need to go to london to see a show for my course. i thought id get up early cos i needed to straighten my hair and i didnt wanna miss the train but looks like i misjudged the time wrong so now im completely done but have an hour to wait til i need to leave my house lol!

Well today I went shopping and spent £36 on clothes in the first shop I went in! It was quite good for 2 dresses and a top though. I love January sales! Needless to say I avoided other clothes shops! I needed some more storage for my room so I also got some shelves from Argos and an iTunes voucher. (My mum would go ape if I had her account debited for music so it's the only way I can download.) Randomly bought some pens too because they looked pretty.

Just watched the lottery and beginners luck didn't quite work. I matched 2 of the 5 from the first machine so I needed the thunderball for £10. The Thunderball was 4 and I chose 5!

Also got a copy of the second paper the family notice about my Gran is in, and this one didn't have any errors so I highly doubt it was an error on my Aunt's part. I can't believe that; they get paid enough for them and they go and have typos in them! Surely they should be checked.

I've got a physics A2 exam tomorrow morning and I know nothing. The paper is in two parts, a 15 question multiple choice section then a written section. The multiple choice isn't as easy as it sounds, there are always two that could be definite possibilities so if you don't know the answer you're screwed.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be cramming but I'm eating popcorn and surfing the net

CrazyLea

Abigail
20-01-2008, 20:08
Butter popcorn :) Now that I've cooked it I don't really want to eat it. I've had about half of it. It's quite salty for butter.

I've already decided to resit the paper in June when I've had time to revise the whole unit. I didn't realise there was so much that I'd missed out when revising. That's why there is a multiple choice section. The only thing I'm confident on is nuclear physics and reactors.

Well I was basically forced to go back into my Gran's house yesterday with my Aunt to find some more 'appropriate' music for the funeral (my dad hasn't even been back in there yet.) My dad thinks we should have music my gran really liked rather than what's typical to a funeral, and my Aunt thinks the opposite. They've also both fallen out with my Great Aunt because she told them she didn't want to go to my Gran's funeral.. personally I think that's her choice.. they don't know that she hasn't just said that because she doesn't want to get upset in front of everyone and make them worse. So she tried to kill herself because that's basically all her family that's turned their back on her. She's conscious at the moment and I want to go and see her but everyone that can drive doesn't care and won't go to see her, so that's my decision made for me once again :( :(

I got upset at school and refused to go home in the taxi because it annoys me at the best of times, so they had to get my dad over to get me. He was less than impressed but I really couldn't help it .. the bus is far from feasible according to them so I just have to sit there and put up with it by the looks of it. I'm now thinking of applying to a school bigger than mine just to get out of the taxi, and I find my school too big and would lose the good friends I have at school.

And the icing on the cake... I have an exam on Thursday and I can't even concentrate at school.

ARghh I hate London's public transport!! I got to the station on time. No trains beacuse of vandilism. Went to catch the bus, waited 40 minutes! I ended up missing my first lesson.

Someone got stabbed at my college today..well cut on the arm but still, I think the intent was to do more than that...just the fact that someone bought a knife into college is unnerving.

On the way back there were about 20 policemen about the station which was understandable but a bit intimidating, they had a couple of dogs there too.

Pretty good day. Didn't do much in physics apart from talk about random things. Found out my teacher is going to the same place on holiday as me but six weeks later which is good. Wouldn't want to go on holiday and meet him in a water park. That would be wierd him seeing me semi naked and vice versa.

Biology exam tomorrow. I was feeling ok until this morning when I was told we need to know about the HIV virus and Tobacco Mosaic Virus in depth. Needless to say, I don't.

Not saying I regret coming on here or anything :).

But yeah. Awesome day in college. I lurrrge college at the moment! SO fun. And I still do work :p.

Then was working. I'm still a little nervous.. as I'm a shy person infront of new people, but I think me and the girl I tend to work with are really starting to get on which is cool. Next Weds I'm with someone new though o_O. I'm usually better with older people thoug :s. Cos when therye my age or younger I feel like I need to be some way.. odd..

Then I went to the pub to unwind. Was fun-ish.

had a good week so far apart from a few not so good things. mon i had a rehearsal for the slapstick piece we had to perform which was quite funny, the book we had told us we should practise falling down the stairs head first but we decided to skip that one lol! then in the process of pretending to fall over i tripped over one of my friends and almost smacked my head on the fireplace!

tues is my only really busy day of the week cos ive got lessons all day and i hadnt done the reading so my lecturer wasnt pleased. but we got our cheerleading uniforms which was really exciting! but annoyingly my housemate that none of us like has decided hes not living with us next year which is fine but he decided weeks ago and didnt tell us so now weve gotta look for someone else

yesterday was varsity day which was really good fun, we won overall like we do every year! :D so we all went out celebrating last night, i drank way too much and lost one of my earrings :( and cos we turned up like 5mins late they made us eat the skanky baby food they had leftover from initiation which is making me feel sick just talking about it! but it was a brill night so i wont complain

today i should tidy my room and do some work but so far i havent started either

I sent it 19th December. I got one on 7th Jan, an interview on the 12th and another offer yesterday.

General studies exam this afternoon. It was good, don't know how they expect people to know the names of art galleries in Paris. It was funny towards then end when somebody put their hand up and said he thought he'd left his phone on vibrate because of all the building work going on outside. Everybody was trying not to laugh.

One more exam to go :cheer:

Kim

Eek Stars  I heard one day that someone in my school got caught with a knife in their bag, which was scary enough. I know what you mean about the busses; they're a joke down here - if my dad couldn't get me from my exam which finished at about 3:20 in the end, I wouldn't have got in until like 6 as there's only one bus a day that goes directly from by my school to round the road, which is normal at school time. And they're usually late on top of that, as well as costing a bomb even for Child's fare which I'm luckily still getting away with at the moment.

Today was pretty bad. I had Biology first, so that basically rubbished the whole day in about 5 minutes. I hate it and my teacher makes it even more unbearable. Then I had RE and we had to do another lesson on funerals, because the teacher wasn't sure we understood it all yesterday having had a supply. Also had Maths which I can't stand because of the teacher and I had my Geography DME this afternoon. It was ok I think; biggest problem was the time so I rushed some questions to get onto the next section in time as they were all worth the same marks. I wasn't keen on the first couple of questions though.

I cried through the whole the lesson yesterday as it was my Gran's funeral on Tuesday. The coffin just looked cheap and my Gran had said she wanted an oak coffin but the undertaker she wanted only did the one coffin. It didn't even look big enough and I cried when they pulled it out of the herse so quickly that it looked as if they were treating my Gran like a plank of wood. I walked behind the coffin and nearly went into the bit where they put the coffin because I couldn't see the seats through crying. The words to the hymns just looked like a big jumble.

The wake was pretty bad too - I was talking to my uncle who I'm not too keen on for various reasons, plus the fact that he was being sarkey all day; asking someone who'd just had an operation on her foot if she could afford a pair of shoes and yelling at my dad, "Someone's just turned up... but it isn't your mum.. hahaha." So I said that I thought there should be more of a difference between the words just before they bury/draw the curtain across the coffin. He told me I should write something and get it published. Then my grandad's bit on the side's mate walked into the wake... my aunt invited her

Supposed to do a Maths worksheet on 3D trig and I have some coursework to finish off.

Today.. well I got up and found out my dad didn't have any work today.. asked him to take me to school because he knows how much I hate the taxi but he refused. He started rubbing my nose in it when the taxi arrived so I started protesting like a 10 year old screaming when the taxi arrived and got forced out of the house so I kicked stones at my dad's cars. Had a pretty bad throat after that outburst.

Got to school and had a lot of pointless lessons and a supply teacher for one of them... Biology was quite amusing because hardly any of our class revised for the mock (me included) and one of the other teachers came in, realised it was the 'underachieving class' and told everyone who got a D, E or U to stand up... Me and about 4 others were sat down and everyone else was standing  Then we had a lecture over it because it's top set and were basically told to up our game.

Read our reports in tutor and I found out I got a B in Maths mock  I thought I'd failed it so miserably! Expected grades have gone up again so that's good.

After school.. waiting in primary school car park for ages again because the driver can't be bothered to go in and get the kids. Kids were screaming their heads off and I had to wait for a paracetomol. Got to one of the houses and he decides that a moped was a motorbike and started arguing with me because I said it was a moped. My dad knows the person who's moped it is and my dad said he has a moped and not a motorbike. Driver also stopped at the house of one of the people he picked up last year and gestures to this boy's mother through the window to come out and he started having a chat with her  Then he saw the actual boy was in an upstairs window so he got out of the car and started doing impressions in front of the window  No wonder I got home about 50 minutes after finishing school!

Ahh yes Oakwood is awesome! I've been there about 3 times - love the rides, I would recommend it. :p I may be going there with my mates again in March, but I dunno..

I've been pretty busy - went to two parties in a row, yesterday and Thursday night. I am pretty shattered now, and last night, I did something that I regret kindaa. My friend was really ill last night too - we went to Tesco at 2am in the morning, and he ended up collapsing in a car park with rib pains (he had too much to drink too) - we were on the verge of calling an ambulance, but we managed to get him back to the house and the pains went then.

My date stood me up today too... :( well he said he had to meet some friends who hasn't seen in ages today, and could we arrange to meet next Saturday...I was like ok then.. I'm glad in a tiny way, as today I feel like crap, so I'm in no mood to go out.

Today was school photos which ended up being quite amusing. I had planned to get up early in order to straighten my hair but it didn't quite work out. I ended up straightening it and had to do my make-up in the canteen. My Head of Year walked in and caught me putting lip gloss on. He told me to take it off, so I ended up putting it back on in registration  He decided my tie was so short too when he said my mate's was ok and hers was the same length as mine. My tie has been in a slip knot for years so it was a bit of a mess. Could have done with some hair straighteners then  So I ended up having 4 photos done in a creased tie and had to stand in the short corner when they started lining us up in height order. They made us say whisky before they took the photos. Makes a change from cheese; they should have been giving the whisky to us after making us have photos in shirt and tie and no jumpers :rotfl:

Now trying to find motivation to do coursework. I bought 25 blank DVD's the other day so I'm copying eastenders tapes instead.

Got the afternoon off as my teacher has some curriculum review to do or something.

I got another offer today from UCLAN, 260 points. That's going to be a stretch considering my AS grades. Just waiting for Staffordshire to get back to me. Apparantly they take ages with their offers.

I had a really random night's sleep. I kept getting out of bed and switching the light on and off and opening the window. It was freezing when I got up this morning.

Abigail
29-01-2008, 17:54
Wooo I got all my offers. Two in one day!!! :D Now I just have to decide which to choose. My first choice is also the one with the highest points. I know my insurance choice is going to be at Canterbury. Not the course I want to do and not the place I want to go to but it's the lowest offer. I think I'll talk to my tutor and see what she says. I'm so pleased :D

Whoooo thats good Abigail :)
I had a good day, I just really need to get down to my biology coursework, well the plan anyway

Abigail
29-01-2008, 18:14
What's your coursework on?

I hated doing biology coursework. I had to count the heart rate of daphnia who are almost microscopic. I made my results up in the end because I got bored. I also made my A2 coursework results up, I couldn't be bothered to count the number of fronds and measure the length of 100 pieces of seaweed in the freezing cold. My teacher couldn't work out why my results didn't stack up

Katy
29-01-2008, 19:13
well done everyone on offers.

I am having a bad day, i am having a wat to drop out day, everything really got to me today and i am struggling with the work. I might investigate into how hard it is in changing course and talk to mam and dad as financially i dont really want to change as its another year.

Don't put a course as your insurance, that you don't want to go to. You'll get forced to go there, if you miss your firm. And you could find that a course you prefer is in clearing, but you can't apply for it, cause you're tied with your insurance - They might release you too late to apply for another course.

Sounds it, Abbie. Not! I hate the Biology that's part of the Additional Science GCSE. Biology teacher kept the whole class in for a detention at lunchtime. I wasn't even talking in the lesson, so I was outraged when the teacher let a boy who was supposed to be having a detention other than the class one go when the bell went for dinnertime. I tried legging it and got caught in the process. I'm surprised I actually managed to get to the canteen when there was actually some food left.

My business coursework has gone walkabouts from the class. I dread to think how I'd get another copy of that. Most of it could be saved in any one of about 5 places; some of the graphs in it are hand drawn and I couldn't get another copy of some of the property details in the location section, which we have to include.

I got my a proof of my individual photo today. I hate it, but my mum loves it. I got a letter to say I have to have an interview to discuss my A Level choices, so I best start thinking of a way to justify putting Psychology down as my first choice. I don't think the fact that it seems interesting from the presentation and prospectus and that it contrasts my other subjects would get me very far. I hope my interview doesn't end up being with my Geography teacher either as I think he'll be wondering why I didn't put that down. Probably not a good idea to tell him I hate it, lol!

Not a great day tbh. Not very bad mind.

Was extremely tired this morning! Don't know why. I think I went to bet at 1/half 1..

I did have a strong cup of coffee and 2 pro plus before I went mind.. but I slept like a log. So a mystery :p.

I fell asleep on some chairs when we had a free at 9 this morning :D. Yummy.

Had a practise test thing for something earlier. I love tests :D. Was good. VERY easy.

Screwed up a bit in work today - oops. But ah well. I'm new, it's allowed :p.

I like doing coursework up until the point of analysis and evaluation. That bit is so boring. I get my biology coursework back tomorrow. I bet my teacher has changed his mind again about what I should have written. I was ompletely confused when I came to write my final piece up because he'd changed his mind about my hypothesis and standard deviation each time he looked at my drafts

Mum's at the hospital today so I've been cleaning up. I'm spending an hour online then I'm going to do some homework. I haven't done homework for over two years. Its only a bit of reading for physics and some equations for business.

We did a peak flow lung test in Biology. The highest I got was 370...the lowest 270..I think the average for my height and because I'm a women is 420..:p Ah well..I'm either unfit (probable) or the London buses are finally killing me with their fumes  and I don't have asthma (as far as I know)
I think I did the test to many times because I made myself feel dizzy because I was trying to get above 370 :p

This guy, in the Rotary came around this evening and asked me if I wanted to go on this course thingy...it's like a weekend of sport things. Archery, canoeing, and a couple of other things I don't know what they are...It's free because it's with the Rotary. Wahay. :p I've been asked to go because the parents of this girl know me and apparently she was in the year below me at school. Possibly primary school. I have no idea who she is. But I'm better at faces than names so when I see her I'll recognise her. Or at least pretend to :p

Its attempting to snow here. Its more like sleet though with severe wind. I have to go out in 20 mins as well :( I suspect the motorway bridge near me will be closed soon, then all the traffic will be diverted through my town as there is only two ways across the river for 20 miles. Oh, its just started lightening :D I think I might ring in and say I'm sick

I'm still trying to book my driving test online but it won't bring up any dates. I'll have to ring up I think :thumbsdow I hate ringing people on the phone.

I have got yet another cold :crying:. Third one in like less than 2 months! :( Cough cough, sneeze sneeze, cough, sneeze, couggggggggggh < that is me :p.

I've had an alright day. My friends have persauded me to go for Head Boy for my sixthform. I was really unsure at first but now i've decided to go for it. It's usually the straight A students that get it, but I hope to change that with my speech. Over the next week, we get to make posters and stuff and stick them round the school as part of the voting campaign.

Kirsty :]
31-01-2008, 18:06
Oh wow that sounds cool Davey. In our school they just have interviews with the Head and then we vote.
It usually ends up the straight A students getting it though.
And teachers have final say anyways.
It pretty much sucks in my school.

Yeah, I hope that doesn't happen with me. The students and teachers get one vote each..it's unfair really. I knew this one girl (a bit of a chav) who said she wanted to go for Head Girl but she said she got laughed at and the teachers asked if she was joking, it's unfair really...everyone should have an equal chance.

That's wierd Lea, we were talking about Welsh people in biology today

As suspected the motorway bridge was closed to high sided vehicles which meant that they were all diverted through my town and made us late to the other school for Biology :cheer: It took us twenty minutes to make a ten minute journey which was excellent.

It is so cold here.

I'm so bored i have like 2 hours before my next lecture.

Abigail
01-02-2008, 12:34
This morning was totally pointless. Went in for physics, after half an hour the teacher who is running the gifted and talented make-the-world-a-better-place scheme came and told us the program is running all day today. We knew nothing about this because, suprise suprise, the 6th form 'manager' still had the letters sat on her desk. The same ones that she's had since the start of term and not bothered to write a message on the board or speak to one of us. She is so useless.

Anyway, I didn't go because I have a three hour driving lesson this afternoon and don't really want to do it anyway.

I've finally managed to book my driving test. I had to ring up because the internet application form hasn't been working all week. I've booked it for a week on Monday, the 11th. I'm going to pass this time :D
