Who knew shopping could be so tiring  My feet hurt soo much. Good day though :D
Feel rather low, OH off to Brunei today for a week, had 3 difficult work meetings today, lots of things on my mind and they are not happy thoughts, but I am doubting myself and feel lonely. Sorry for having a moan, I shall get over it, I am sure.

And I have a tickly cough and sore throat. Grr!
I was glad to get form school today! All I ahd was stick about the Sixth Form Party haha.. it was bearable at first but got really old by the end of the day!
Enterprise week has started off rubbish too... but the rest of the week sounds ok :)
Bad night at dancing too. Got 2 costumes which I really do not like. They're both too big where I;ve lost weight and they're itchy and the one makes me look like a boogie lol. I kept messing steps up too, my head jsut wasn't there tonight and I couldn't pick stuff up at all.
A good nights sleep and paracetamol should help!

sunday i went to a bbq, it was ok, it didnt really rain so that was good. i ate way too much! my gran kept moaning about leaving and tried to drag me off a chair! but overall it was ok
yesterday i got the last stuff out of my house that id need for over the summer cos i had to give my key back in til september. i went over my room like 5 times just to make sure i didnt need any of the stuff id left! then as we were trying to tidy up, the builders behind our house dug through our power supply  they didnt seem to care though as their canteen still had power! also i found out the other day that canterbury has this milkshake shop like this one id been to when i was in bournemouth where they make literally any type of milkshake, they crush chocolate/biscuits etc and put them in! so i had a jaffa cake one, it was really nice! :D
today i need to tidy my room cos atm theres 4 suitcases taking up all the floor!

absolutly knackered, sailed with our junior team yesterday in the 12 hour race. We were 16th out of 28 which was good considering we had 5 people on our team for the last 7 hours and you need two people in the boat per stint. I am now aching all over, caovered in bruises, sunburnt / windburn, stinging eyes from the salt water, and can hardly move. It was worth it though even though i did work so hard.
Oh and i have a massive bump on my head from where the boom smacked me on the head when we turned round a mark. We had to go in after that lap cause the person i was sailing with made us. So our signal was wave to the team captains (i.e the parents and other sailors) to give assistance, instead they waved back!
Off to work now for my first day. I'm well nervous. Have a good day all.
hope your head feels ok now katy, and that youre liking your new job :)

I'm losing my voice now! This flipping cold/flu jsut won't clear up! :(
Went out for a walk to get a dominos with friends but it started hammering down so we walked back to our friends and ordered from there instead :)
Was the most random weird night lol, some weird old man walked right up to us in my face and said something along the lines of "jickety me drizzley".. I don't know.. it was pretty strange.
I have a feeling I will be off school tomorrow, I don't want to be though. It's enterprise week and now all the boring stuff is done we get to do our proper project for Friday and it's really fun! So I will drag myself to school haha :D

I got my tarot cards read last night. Oh wow what a six months I'm going to have. The lady who did it read my cards 13 years ago and she was spot on then so we will just have to sit back and see what unfolds.

If you feel up to it, share it with us what is happening. I quite often get my cards read and my clairvoyant has always been spot on. She knew I had bought a place in Spain and told me that it was safe, I would not need to worry. I also had a big problem with another property I had that I was selling and she told me that I would not need to pay one bill, again, to my great surprise a hefty solicitor's invoice was covered by an insurance I did not know about beforehand. :D She also told me that I would get the job I wanted and I did.

Went to Melton Mowbray market with my nana yesteday had a good day out with her...
Today just been chilling out at home and later we are going to my partners mum and dads house......
Did you have one of the famous pies when you went to Melton Mowbray? They are quite tasty although I only ever have a taste of one perhaps once a year or two.

Well she said she would be here around 11 and she still isn't.. tut tut bad time keeping lol..
Well I am not good with PE but I always try but I don't get why..
We live on the same road as eachother and the school is directly opposite us so maybe she wants a bit of help? Only reason I can think of tbh!

I slept in until half 11 this morning! My Nan even hoovered in my room and I didn't wake up!
I feel like death warmed up
My throat is better though :).. still losing the voice but if 1 things gone I'm happy!
Still have the whole blocked nose/cough and no taste!! :(
Never mind, there's people out there worse off than me so really I should be thankful that I only have a flu
Congratulations on turning pink Perdita :)
It is 33 Celsius here today, would not mind if I had not had to work :D Home now, there might be a thunderstorm later and I don't like them, nature can be very forceful and I worry about people and the poor animals out in the open. :(
Found a prom dress today :) Got a 10% discount as the shop does them for those that are buying dresses from there to wear to school proms. Just my accessories to go now. Was going to get shoes today if I could but my dad began a swearing spree after I tried on 4 dresses before deciding which one to get.
I can't go to the carnival :( I look forward to that every year and it's on the same day as I'm going to Kent. Dad's taking me up there in the morning so that he doesn't get back too late so I'll be in Kent before it starts. His cousin did offer me Sunday to Sunday instead of the Saturday but Dad's off to golf on that day. Guess I'll have to make do with the Steam Ralley this year, if the weather's nice enough. It will make a change; last year it didn't happen because they forgot to book the field for it, or something.

I've had a rather goooood day today. Went somewhere with 2 mates, went into town, ice cream parlour, then we went to the beach. Me and one of my mates thought it would be a good idea to go swimming in the sea in our clothes :p. Haha it was fun, but we moaned afterwards about being wet and chilly. The waves were really quite big so it was really fun :D. Was annoying being on the train wet though haha. So yeah good day :D back to work tomorrow :p.

Omg, was just looking at my mates bebo and found out her dad died Sunday . Poor thing. She's a work mate not a hugely close mate but aww. I can't believe it. It's weird cause she was working Sunday and she was talking about him all day bless her :( before she knew obviously!
She probably won't be in a work for a while, but when she comes back I have no idea how to talk to her? Cause she'll know that we know about her dad (it's in the paper), so do we mention her dad? Do we avoid it? Do we talk normally to her? Ahhh. That's if she does come back. :(

So...Brighton..interesting story about that. The district line was so delayed...*cue running from Victoria to the coach station and missing the coach by three minutes* So went to an internet cafe, tried to book tickets for the next coach but that was full up. So anyway we ended up going to the science museum (spent an hour wandering round the gift shop :p), McDonalds, Starbucks and then Harrods. If anyone is ever going to Harrods, check out the outfits for the dogs - they are so funny :p
Maybe send her a sympathy card? If you don't have an address for her maybe mention to someone who does about doing a card and prehaps all those that she works a shift with could sign it and then have it sent to her.
Those dog outfits sound amusing. Must get my dad's cousin to take me to Harrods when I go to stay with her.

If you are going soon you might catch the end of the sale. The prices are still eye watering though! The toy section and the sweet section are fairly good prices though, you should check them out. :p
I feel like sending a seriously abusive email to the bus company right now; probably a good thing I can't find an address on the website. They've only gone and changed all their times so that the bus arrives in the place you have to get a second bus from 2 minutes before other bus leaves. (This bus company are so unreliable that you'd nearly always miss the second bus when the arrival time was about 10 minutes before the second bus went out.) The second bus never waits either; my mate and her mum were there once telling the driver that I'd text and was about 2 minutes away because my bus had been late and he wouldn't even wait. More hours wasted in the lovely town with nothing in it
I don't even want to go now but I have to because I need prom shoes.

I love all of the outfits for dogs in harrods, and all of the beds and stuff for them, shame the outfits are mainly for little dogs though as my dog would look lovely in them but shes too big lol for them, and the actuall animals in there are cute, except the last time i went they only had cats and some rabbits

2 things to tell you guys about my day, if your interested that is haha :p
1) Well saw my teacher and she wants me to help out with this kids thing so have to be in school at 8.45 and then it goes on till half 12 I think.. Long'ish day (day LOL, can barely call it that but yeah).. and she said one of my 'PE Buddies' is coming too so I can't wait to see her again as I thought I'd never see her as she is off to a sports college so it's gonna be good, looking forward to it. Also get to spend some time with little 'I'm so much better than you' kids.. (I think) unless they are younger than AWWW YAY :p
See I would never make a good teacher LOL, and I am soo short and always get the p taken out of me, even by my teachers but happens on a daily basis but sometimes it just gets to you, you know. I sort of accepted it but sometimes ahhh :( lol
2) A policeman came to the door (9.40pm =| ) and said a boy was being chased by a group of boys on his bike and crashed into our wall and he crawled into our driveway (wall thing) and asked (the policeman) if we saw anything... happened between 12-3pm! Broad daylight about 3 weeks ago.. Poor thing, we don't know a thing and it happens to be a day where everyone is out as well! :( And also another annoying thing is why didn't they come and ask sooner instead of 3 weeks later! It's stupid, I wish I could have helped but I don't know a single thing.. Hope he's alright now though :(

She didn't tell me anything bad but here goes don't laugh, this is all due to happen between September and January. There is too be three men come into my life, two who I have not met before and one I have. The first one is from my past and has blonde hair I've to give him a wide-berth as he is a waste of space. The second one had dark hair and I meet him through a club that I take Marley too he is divorced and has a girl around the same age as Marley, her name is possibly Shelly or Shirley we are supposed to move house but not too far away. The third has medium brown hair but is single with no kids again this could be serious as he is going to give me £12,000 in January as a gift. Even if I pick the second one the third guy will still be a mate. There's also news about a new job but again that won't happen until the new year. So we will just have to see what she said comes true.
Sounds good, lets hope it all works out. Any idea why you would get £12000? Can you give him my details if he fancies helping out another lady with some money gift?

I agree with the others, you might just say to her how sorry you are to learn of her loss. Sending her a card is also a good thing if you think this might be easier for you or if she doesn't come back. I am sure she will appreciate some kind words at this awful time for her, whether they be verbal or in writing.

Went to school today, didn't want to be off for another day!
Mind you enterprise week is very stressful! Ended up having a bit of a barmy with a friend :/
I got wound up so easily! Although it is partly her fault for not listening and snapping in my face "oh don't worry then do what you want, don't worry, don't worry". Grr
Anyways, basically everything had been done for outr business project when I got into school so I wa slike.. oh great, because I really wanted to contribute :(
However, I had my chance because no-one thought of the nitty gritty parts that you need to pull something together.. oh no as long as the big part was done, nothing else mattered... it was fine then to fuss about looking at the pictures having a laugh... when so much more actually needed to be done!
So I got to do that...I shouldn't really complain, but you know it gets to you. Urgh oh well.. so yeah not a good day!! Haha
Looking forward to the presentation tomorrow though!! :) They're bringin in the head to watch and people from outside school but I don't know.. it seems exciting because alot of effort has been put in from all teams so it should all be worth watching :D
Sorry for the ramble.. but this is like the only place I can really come to blow off steam.

Argh so much for a good day! :(
Thought I was going shopping with my Nan and I was rushing and my Nan and Granch were beeping and I just grabbed my £60 quid (family allowance) chucked it in my pocket and jumped in the car. We didn't go shopping and went up to the local shops. From the time I got out of the car and got into the shop (which is like a 10 second walk) I'd lost that £60 quid.
I'm kicking myself! It's my own stupid fault because my Nan is always always telling me to put my money in a purse and put it in seperate purses and stuff but like.. if I'd found £60 quid on the floor I would never have took it.. I would have handed it in somewhere! It makes me think why should I do good and hand stuff in that isn;t mine.. yet people will jsut pick it up and think wahay that's mine now. It jsut gets to me how someone could do that :( it doesn't surprise me thouhg.. the shops were full of all the chavs who have probably now took my money to buy their next fix! Grrr, this has definately taught me a big lesson, and I will not take money for granted anymore!!

me and my sis went into town today. went into the local library as i havent really been in there for years and its now in a different place and the council have gone on about how this place is so much better so we thought we would check it out and get out some books to give us something to do. well anyway its really rubbish! its so much smaller than the old library used to be and theres no where near as many books in it. i wasnt impressed!
then went to my gran and grandads house. me and my sis were a bit hyper for some reason so we got out these disney singalong videos which we had when we were little and so me, my sis and my gran were singing and dancing around to them lol! my grandad left the room haha!

awwwww thats dreadful! :( i know what you mean, if i found anything over a fiver id give it in somewhere even though i always think why should i cos no one else would and i could do with that money id still give it in. it makes me mad! the other week i lost my phone in the nightclub on campus and i went to the lost property and asked if it had been handed in but it hadnt  if id have found it id have handed it in, i wouldnt just keep someones phone/money
Ouch, that must have hurt to lose £60. A couple of years ago I lost £200 because I did not stay in front of the cash machine but about a yard away from it at a stastement printer. There was nobody in the foyer of the bank but then a guy came in just as the cash machine, which had been working very slowly, dispensed the cash and this guy just took it and legged it. I must admit I was tired and in a rush and was not thinking quick enough to stop him. Police were unable to do anything and the case was closed about 6 months later.

Makes you sick doesn't it!
I completely agree Di M, thats what I was thinking earlier.. so much for karma!
I'm not annoyed at the money I've lost, like my Nan said, it's just money and there's no point crying over it because worse things happen to you and will happen to you in your life. I'm jsut annoyed at myself for not listening and putting it in a purse and for picking up £60 in the first place! I should have just left it there!
I'm annoyed at the person who took it too.. they had no right, I would never do that so I don't see why I deserved that.. no-one deserves it!

;584711']Makes you sick doesn't it!
I'm annoyed at the person who took it too.. they had no right, I would never do that so I don't see why I deserved that.. no-one deserves it!
yeh i agree. when i lost my phone i wasnt annoyed so much for the fact i had to buy a new one but more cos i lost all my numbers and photos on it, id have been happy for whatever low life who took it to keep the phone, all i really wanted was the sim card! but as you say there are a lot of far worse things which could happen to you, its just annoying that i do a good deed by handing stuff in but whenever i lose stuff it gets found by someone who nicks it! :(

not really done anything today. was going to finish tidying my room but couldnt be bothered! so instead i played this game ive become addicted to, managed to complete all the levels even though the last level took me 45mins to get right! all in all a productive day lol!
Got the rest of my prom stuff today I think; just got to decide how to have my hair, what make-up to wear etc.
Tomorrow I might not get to go to the Steam Ralley after all; the forecast is bad and bad weather and my dad's not going :(
Ouch Kirsty. I nearly lost £80 and my phone once because I asked my friend to look after it while I tried a jacket on once, only she decided to randomly dump it on a rail over the other side of the shop. Couldn't believe my luck once she told me what she'd done with it and I found it there. I was shopping the other week and I was paying for something when £10 fell out of my purse and this woman gave it back  At least there are some honest people out there.

Umm well I went in Year 10 there too for 2 weeks and I was basically like a classroom assistant. I was lucky to be in mixed class of Reception and Year 1.
So when I went in I would set up play equipment outside because it was actually sunny for the kids to go and play with after assembly. Then I would help reception out with their sums and jsut stuff liek that.
So hopefully that's what I'll be doing again... maybe with a bit more responsibility. The first time I went the teacher asked if I wanted to read them a story towards the end of my time but I didn't feel comfortable enough..but I wouild be now if I was asked so yeah hopefully they'll let me do more :)
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your time there :D

This is like.. they're last week basically because theyre only in for 2 days next week. So because the teachers have sooo much to do in little time they're just keeping the kids occupied by letting them play with toys and watch videos really.

I was thinkign about doing that Perdita :D Mind reader! :p
The teacher I'm in with is quite young so I wil speak to her over this week about it.

glad you enjoyed your first day :) i know theres 2 routes you can take into primary teaching, you can either do a 3yr primary teaching degree or you can do a 3yr degree in a specific subject of your choice (maths, history, english etc) and then do a year teacher training afterwards. it depends really whether you want another degree to fall back on. also look on the ucas website, it will list all the unis which do teaching degrees and you can read over the modules/syllabus to get an idea of what the course would be like

I love teaching, and recommend it as a career, Kirsty. You get 13 weeks off a year, but you work damn hard in term time, and normally 6 days a week..60+ hours. It can be very stressful, loaded down with pointless paperwork, pressure to achieve aspirational targets/SAT results, but I wouldn't change my job for the world. :D
I did a three year B.A. (hons) degree with teaching status, at Durham university - enjoyed every minute of it.

You could a degree in something you enjoy like English or whatever and then go onto to a PGCE which is what a lot of my friends have done if you cannot find the right teaching degree which i think is four years. You still become a qualified teacher. Plus in three years time youd be 21 22, and maybe ready to move a bit further a field.
I dont know what stage you are at in education but you have to make sure you got at least one national curriculum subject at A Level.
Off to work now. Feel like im depriving Soapboards of my attention, i dont have time anymore.

All of them would help with teaching, maybe not biology as such as you dont have the other scienes to go with it, but with them they are academic subjects and are taught to primary school kids, (not english lit i dont think)
also did you enjoy english lit as i am thinking of taking that at a level aswell

Yeahh I'm not too good at Biology anyways lol
English Lit on a personal note was horrbile. That's mainly because I can't touch the funny paper (it goes through me) and problems with the teacher... but if I could do both of those then yeah it's alright.
Had a good night.. until the end!
Went out with of the girls bla bla bla then we saw the boys so stopped and talked to them for ages sort of near my Mums
The boys had the car (shock...not) and I had to go get electric for my Mum and jsut as I came into view of the car they were all getting in because one of the girls needed the loo so they were going home, which is fair enough but if I hadn't have come out onto the path at that time and maybe a tad later.. they probably wouldn't even have been there. So I was pretty annoyed (well still am) that they didn't wait to let me know.. I said I wouldn't be long. Grr :( So now my nights spoilt and I'm jsut all down about it and blerghh :(
On the other hand!!!!
My mood has jsut lifted because I checked my emails and I have an interview for the new VUE Cinema opening in the multiplex that's coming to town so yeah.. VERY happy about that as I never get interviews... don't think I will get the job as I suck at interviews, but glad I'm beign given at least a chance! :D
Any of those are fine as they are all national curriculum subjebts. RE is very good as well as there is the catholic school option. In my mums school at the minute there are a mix of Bed Teachers (thedegree) and PCGE teachers. They are all very good.

yeh those subjects would be fine cos they are main subjects, you would just have had a problem if you were doing all options like photography, philosphy, maybe sociology/psychology etc cos theyre quite specific and not really relevant to little kids, but the subjects youre doing should be fine. if youre still worried, when you decide what unis you want to apply to ask for a prospectus and see what the requirements are as it should say or if you go to any open days ask someone while youre there, but i think the subjects youve chosen are fine anyway

And I hope you enjoy your night tonight.. is it liek a ball or something??
And Perdita, my interview is August 4th at 12pm.. so I have some time to prepare myself for it.. I jsut never know what to... prepare haha. So any tips would be a great help :) Thanks.
Tiring day today on day 3 of Work experience. Weather was horrible too. We didn't really do much. We had the sciency teacher in though teaching the kids about fruit and their seeds and that.. then they had a fruit feast in the hall trying different fruit.. the little devils scoffed it all! Haha
Supposed to be going Slimming tonight but I can't exactly afford to pay 2 weeks so I'll use money I get at the end of the week to pay for 3 next week instead... and it's hammering down and I have further to walk now so I'm not bothering!...Plus I've been bad :(

yesterday evening i went to the guides group that my sis helps to run and it was so boring! they were doing their international badge and had to do 5 activities from around the world so my sis asked me if i could go in and teach them some cheerleading. it went ok, they picked it up quicker than i thought but theres no way im going back there to help again!
 Guides, boring?! Guides could never be boring (okay, so I might have a vested interested because I'm a leader, but :p)
i never went to guides or brownies when i was younger so dunno if its all guides or just this one lol! yesterdays i suppose was boring for me cos i was just sitting there for most of it but what my sis had prepared for them to do was fun, but my sis said that the main leader is useless and most weeks they dont really do much and its so boring. she said most of the time the kids are just standing talking or running around cos they dont have anything interesting to do. my sis hates it! sounds like a complete waste of money to me!

hope it stopped raining so you could get photos, and hope you have a good time :)

lol i suppose it would be something different to be holding umbrellas by the limo! it was nice for my sis prom the other week, they had photos taken outside the hotel. i never had a prom! :(

Well, what is the job you are applying for? It could help if you were to introduce yourself to the manager before the interview and ask specific questions about the job, what it entails and ask if you can have a look around the workplace and perhaps have a chat to the person who is doing the job at the moment, if there is somebody. That way you can show that you are really interested in the job and you can get a feel for who you will be working for and/or with, you will know the location (believe me, lots of people have turned up late for interviews because they did not know where to go!). I would also advise to dress smartly even if the job will not require you to do so later. Also try to find out as much as you can (internet is great) about the company history, how long they have been in the area etc. and mention these points at the interview, if you can. Again, it shows that you bothered to find out a bit more than perhaps the other applicants. And get to the interview on time, smile a lot and keep eye contact during the interview.
Good luck, I will be thinking of you, even though I shall be lying on the beach in Spain. :cheer:

Thank you so much :)..and I shall be very jealous of you Perdita as you will be in Spain! But I hope you ahve a nice time!
The job is for Vue Cinema as a Guest assistant.. so I will be on ticket booth, confectionary and showing people to seats and that. The interview is in our job centre in town because Vue Cinema will be in the multiplex thing which won't be ready until September/October.. so no-one I know actually works there but there should be alot of jobs going.
I've been on their website already to do the application form and had a little read about, I'll go back on there and read it all properly though.
And sorry.. another questiopn (I will shut up soon, I promise!) Is it a bad thing when they ask you if you have any questions to ask about the pay? And discount? I never know what to ask lol!
Day 4 work experience= tiring. All I did today was clean! I had to put ALL the lego into the sandbox of water and wash it all and put it back.. along with other toys then it was taking displays down and oooh it's been non stop! Haha
There was a supply teacher in today though and she was young. She asked me if it was what I wanted to do and all and so I wa slike well yeah but I don't want to go far and I've looked on the internet and can't find a Uni that's close enough. Luckily the supply teacher informed me that Caerleon Uni does a teaching course...which she has jsut finished so I am definately going to try there! It's only about a half hour drive so I could still live at home if I wasn't ready to stay away :)
We had to get pictures standing against a wall undercover before the prom, as the rain went off a bit when I left to go to the place where we were meeting the limo, but got harder before I got there. The driver let us take pictures with the limo when we got back after the prom though as it had stopped raining then so that was good. One of the people I went in it with got cut off in one of them though, and in the other one is looking away. They're not bad pictures though and we're sending our pictures to each other so hopefully I'll get an even better one at some point; my friend's dad took loads.
Today, haven't done much. Woke up really early after an unpleasant dream about what my results were...well not entirely but the D and 3E's was enough to wake me up lol! Wouldn't mind the 2A*'s out of that dream though. Got a letter to say the county council are subsidising a bus pass for me next year after all.. it doesn't cost any more to send me to my school than the designated one. I just hope it isn't more expensive to send me there next year as they don't guarantee they'll give me one for Year 13... really don't want to have to pay almost £1000 out in bus fares in Year 13 as I'll be wanting to save up for uni particularly in that year.
;585911']Thank you so much :)..and I shall be very jealous of you Perdita as you will be in Spain! But I hope you ahve a nice time!

Yes, you should ask about pay, if you would get discount, ask about the hours they ecpect you to put in if they don't explain anything beforehand. Also good to ask about is training, will they let you attend training courses and pay for them, such as first aid etc. How much holiday would you get and is there any chance of promotion! Not so good to ask about is the sickness scheme  but ask about pension schemes. If I can think of anything else, I shall get back to this thread. :D
In PSHEE once we were told that we should find out about the firm, so that we know about it when we arrive for any interviews. That way you can drop bits that you know about the firm into your answers, and it will help to show that you're really interested in working for them in particular and not just any job that you can get.

I spent most of the day at the hospital today. I had to go for X rays on my face. One side of my face is bigger than the other and they wanted to see what has caused it... they did the X ray and you could see that one side of my face - the bone was sticking out slightly more on side than the other bone on the other side... compliment of the day they said it was a "weird case" and I have a bigger mouth than what is usual ... I had to bite into this wax so they could see how my jaw functions when I eat something.
Now, I have to see the surgeon as they want to investigate why my face is like this and they fear that my one side may grow out and become bigger than the other side and if so, I may need surgery...but it could just stay as it is now with one side being slightly bigger - the surgeon will basically just give me a scan of my jaw, then offer his expert opinion and advice.

My nephew was on the local bbc news today. Basically he is an amature photogapher and him and a couple of mates came across an old disused hospital in Lanarkshire. They went inside to take some photos but found loads of old x-rays with peoples personal details on it and other documents. Someone from the bbc saw the photos on his web-page and he was asked to go to Glasgow yesterday to be interviewed. I will post the link below for you all to see.

Fun day. We went to Hyde Park and eat sweets and played cards. Then we got bored so we started waving at the tour buses trying to get people to wave back. We made a sign saying wave!! Ahh we had such a laugh. People on the tour buses were taking pictures of us! We must of looked like a bunch of nutters :o We're going again next week
Trains were a nightmare though. Part closures due to engineering works. I wouldn't mind but there's never any improvement!

Well, I have got problems believing this myself, but the 25 years are not all in one piece, I did actually live in UK for a number of years inbetween. However, I have lived in Germany now for over 20 years   No special gift, because I work for the MoD a senior military officer will present me with a certificate, the rest is all a secret but I believe that the few guests I have invited and some others (don't know who) might go for lunch somewhere nice (or NAAFI are providing sandwiches  ) Sorry to NAAFI and their employees but your catering sucks).

yesterday my mum and dad went down to see the gravestone as it has been done after changing my grandads one to have my nans name on there too. me and my sis wanted to go and see it but my dads sis wanted everyone to go round hers and then go together and me and my sis dont like our aunties so we didnt wanna go with them. sounds horrible, but they never really wanted to see us before and theyve been horrible to my dad and my nan when she was alive so i didnt wanna spend my day sitting in her house which would have been boring. my mum said she would take us down there in a few weeks and see it. so they dropped us off at bluewater instead and we did some shopping! :) didnt really buy much though. there were lots of sales on so i bought a really nice top for £5 and some dvds. then while waiting for my parents to come back we went into game and were just randomly looking to pass the time and ended up buying some of the other games in the tycoon series cos it was 3 for £10 lol!

My oldest sister who lives in Leeds has been on hoilday in cyprus with her husband she was away for 10 days. The second day of their holiday he got burnt on his ankle and his leg swollen up because of it. He ended up spending the entire holiday in hospital and is still there my sister had to fly back home on her own yesterday. Weird odd, stressful downer of a day!
I've suddenly been made out as the bad guy ina kafuffle when all I did was try to help my one friend realise he was going to get hurt.. but by doing so the girl who is going to hurt him basically is making out I've warned him of her because well.. to cause trouble. And it's so not the case. I don't care what she does, she's lost all the respect I had for her after previous incidents and I'm jsut concerned for my friend (he's liek a best friend) because I gave up so much time for him Saturday night when he was crying and I tried telling him this will happen but he jsut doesn't want to know.. so I don't know what to do because I feel as if I've wasted my time and got into a situation that has been blown so out of proportion.
My other really good friend is being offish with me today too... but I think that's because the girl who is involved in this is her good friend too. I don't know. I jsut don't have a clue what to do really.
Sorry for the rant
I jsut feel like I need to get my side out and there's no-one to tell it too and I need to just let it all out.
Come on shoutbox and we can discuss :)

Found out yesterday that one of my uncles has cancer. Not sure which type tbh. But my mum didn't even tell me which I'm annoyed about. I found out off another uncle. She reckons she told me, but she never. Wasn't on phone long to other uncle, but he said he started chemo yesterday. And I asked if it was advanced, and he said it was a bit and it's really progressive apparantly. Not going to ask my mum about it, case she don't want to talk about it (her bro) :searchme:. It's sad, cause the uncle of mine who has is, one of their daughters died a few years ago of cancer, and his wife has had it a few times, she's okay now though. Hate to think of my cousins if something happens to him. Losing sister and father to it, and nearly mother.
That's awful Lea, I hope the chemo does it's job and your uncle is ok. It's terrible that so many people in one family have/had cancer.
back! at last!
settled into my house now, loving it, feel very grown up! got the internet set up now, so i'm back to harass the boards and to beat Kath's ass on the MSN Quiz! :p
As for the job at Oceana I walked out of it. They hired everyone they interviewed so they didn't care who they were employing. they treated us like cattle and we kept asking questions about job but they were being really shifty and not giving us all the facts. they told us we had to cancel any holidays we had planned, which is a joke. and they only had us on 4 week contracts, so after the launch rush they'd probs sack half of us! we just got the feeling it'd be a crap place to work, they just wanted people to work **** hours for **** pay, a fair few walked out.
But I'm not going to let it get me down, means I can enjoy my summer now, come up and down with friends and have a fun time! Going back to Brum for a couple of weeks Thursday, for my holiday and for my godson's christening, then I'll be back down again.
Well done on not staying. If that's how they treat their employees I would have walked too. I've worked for people who expected me to do things that were illegal (I was 15 at the time) and paid me below the minimum wage. It wasn't long until I took a hike.
I walked right into helping mum clean today. I told her last night I didn't have anything better to do than sit on the computer all day so she said I can help her clean today. I don't mind hovering, washing and washing the pots but I have a feeling it will entail a whole lot more than that. Luckily I have to go into school this afternoon. Not quite sure how I'm going to get in, the tennis courts have been turned into car parks because there is building work going on. That rules out the back entrance (old car park) and the front entrance is always locked during the day :hmm:
I had a lovely day yesterday, got my certificate of loyalty for 25 years service from somebody I never met before, but never mind, working for the MoD that is nothing new. OH filmed the event, local magazine editor took a couple of pics. Had a few colleagues there, got a lovely bunch of flowers, a couple of glasses of bubbly and then lunch in a fab restaurant. Afterwards allowed to go home for the afternoon :cheer:
That sounds great, especially the afternoon off :D Congrats again on making it to 25 years.

Congrats Perdita!
Relaxed day. Didn't bother going to school because our teachers ahve said we're not even doing anything so no-ones been going in.
Stressful evening. Had to watch my brother and he ended up wandering again so I had to look for him and so when I eventually found him in the one place he wasn't supposed to be, I told him off for wandering.
But, I was more mad with these 2 boys. They were about 15/16 I think and as we were walking off they were mimicking what I'd said but I tried ignoring them adn they went on and on and on. So I turned around and told them to shut up and they started laughing... so I walked up to them and lost it a bit and I was jsut like.. excuse me? Come and say what you've jsut said to my face please. They looked a bit shocked I was confronting them. Then I jsut left it and walked off and as they walked off they shouted B**ch. Charming! Grr. Silly little boys. I know I shouldn't have retalliated and walked up to them but I was wound up as it was and they jsut made me blow my top!
Anyways looking for some sports clothes or something for Thursday because we're having a Boys vs. Girls baseball match in school for the Alex Mitchell Cup (a girl in our year who sadly died 3 years ago) so it's all in her memory so it should be a good day :)
I've been saving this post all day. With Perdita's encouagement I have made over 50 posts today and I'm now at 5000 :D Thank you to all those that have showed their support
Took my books back to find that only one of my teachers was in to sign. I left the form in one of my teacher's office with a note for him to find my text book and sign the form. Highly doubt he'll do it, I'll have to send him an email to remind him

I am on my final day of work experience tomorrow - it's been ok. A much bigger newspaper though and they've hardly given me anything to do over the past 2 days. I've had to ask "is there something I can do?" for them to actually give me something to do. :p I went to court yesterday though with two reporters and that was really interesting, especially hearing the cases - they were both quite shocking and it was really scary going into a courtroom lol.

Another week or so and you'll be purple :)

Losing sister and father to it, and nearly mother.
sorry to hear about your uncle lea, hope the chemo works for him

As for the job at Oceana I walked out of it. They hired everyone they interviewed so they didn't care who they were employing. they treated us like cattle and we kept asking questions about job but they were being really shifty and not giving us all the facts. they told us we had to cancel any holidays we had planned, which is a joke. and they only had us on 4 week contracts, so after the launch rush they'd probs sack half of us! we just got the feeling it'd be a crap place to work, they just wanted people to work **** hours for **** pay, a fair few walked out.
did they not tell you your contract would only be for the launch period initially? tbh id never wanna work in a club, most clubs will act like that. and also the holiday thing, when i was trying to get a job last year they told me they would only hire people that didnt have any holidays booked, i was shocked by that too

Afterwards allowed to go home for the afternoon :cheer:
glad you had a good day, and congrats on the certificate :)

Highly doubt he'll do it, I'll have to send him an email to remind him
Housework wasn't that bad. Two loads of washing to hang out, wash the pots, hover and do something else.

it started with the colours changing everytime you got to a prime number i seem to remember (so 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000), then 500 was added i think cos it was easier and quicker to reach than 1000 so frequent posters could become a colour without having to wait for ages. i think rimmer stopped changing the colours after 7000 cos it was difficult to get different colours that actually looked different to ones already beng used and also cos i think at the time no one was anywhere near getting to the next colour anyway. if it was going up in prime numbers still then the next one would be 11000 which im sure not many people have atm. anyone who can actaully say exactly what happened with the colours etc? as i might have got it wrong lol but thats what i think i remember happening!

I think it's my glands that are hurting, they're a bit swollen. The ones in my neck are hurting too. I'm probably just having a bad day, my joints keep hurting and my muscles are twitching (think that's because I haven't taken my iron tablets for nearly two weeks though :ninja: )

Helped about the house today because I'm good :) Haha
Now I'm jsut ironing at my own slow pace lol.
Going to see our schools show of WWRY later. Should be good. Quite a few of my friends are in it with leads and that and they've put so much hard work into it.. and theres a cardboard cut out of a VW Camper van which I think I'm going to have to steal ahah. So yeah that should be a good night out :)
7th dec '06 I changed. What a long time ago now! It feels weird people don't remember me as LMF! That and that I'm not so active, when I used to be so addicted!
WOw that was ages ago, how come you remember the date?
I was very quiet when I first joined and then have gradually become more active. I know I was very actove before we had soapbaords big brother and then I think I went through a quiet spell before being very active again. Its all down to me having my own laptop top and broadband, cos when I first joined I had neither so could only come on for a tiny amount of time
The search button is your friends ;)
I remember not posting from may to aug, then taking a jump and doing that!! I was shy!
I changed light pink (3000) on my birthday last year (2nd Nov). Leanne made me a Linoln Lewis banner to celebrate. 2000 posts in just over eight months
Wow that was a lot
I dont remember any days i changed colour :(
i dont remember any days i changed colour wither, although i remember getting my name changed.
I got a certificate at work yesterday i was dead chuffed, i passed my training in awareness on data protection. Just working agantoday, i am so tired but ih well think of the money. It is getting better as i am getting in more of a routine.

Well done Katy, for your certificate. You will find it less tiring as you get used to work, believe me, but then there are days like today where I wish I would not have to get up
Feeling better today. Cough is a bit worse, bringing up phlegm now. Don't want to go to the doctor as it's only intermittent and I hate going. I have a funny taste in my mouth though.
It's raining here :(
Hope it is nothing nasty that you have. Have you tried mouth wash for the taste? It has rained here a couple of times today too.
I haven't got any mouthwash or chewing gum. Just looked in the mirror and my tongue has a white coating on it. Hope I don't have thrush.
Yoghurt is the answer to thrush, eat loads of it, it really helps, just the plain stuff :D

Ahhh went to see our schools production of WWRY last night. And fair play it was amazing!!
It was jsut sooo proffessional and effective, I woke up singing Radio Ga Ga this mornign
Then today was the Girls vs. Boys baseball match for the Alex Mitchell Memorial Cup in school today. Guess who won!!
Of course the girls won :D
Mainly on obstruction points but we still won the cup :D
Was a good match :)
Then went to town with a mate and was speaking to this girl who works in Subway from school and (well she's not v.nice). turns out she has an interview at the cinema too. But she put a complete downer on the whole thing basically saying that either of us will get the job because
a) Our interviews are like the last batch so they'll already know who they want to employ
b) There's only 25 jobs going and they're interviewing 100 people.
Joyous :thumbsdow
Ignore her. She obviously likes living a pessimistic life, don't let her drag you down. You have a 1/4 chance of getting the job. Anyway, how does she know how many are being interviewed?
Kirsty :]
17-07-2008, 18:40
She's like that. It's alright for her though.. she has a steady job as it is. I have no job! And I really want this! So I won't let it get to me.. I'll jsut go and be well.. me. Even though I go all shy and nervous!
I don;t actually knwo how she knows.... her friend has just had an interview with them too (btw her interview lasted 40 minutes!!!!!!!.. she didn't shut up abotu that!) but 2 of my friends have had interviews with them and haven't mentioned anything about how many jobs are going :/
you never know the fact you dont already have a job may work in your favour. Im sure itll be fine, she probably only heard that on the grapevine and therefore take it with a pinch of salt.
I was in abother department at work today had a right laugh with the girls. it made envelope filling all the more bearable although my shoulders are feeling awful sore! On the plus man city are 2 up against a part time team in the faroe islands in Europe so its all good!

17-07-2008, 22:54
Yeahh I'm going to jsut do my best and not let that affect me.
When/if they ask me if I have any questions for them, do you think I should ask them somethign along the lines of how many jobs are actually going and if I don't get it then would there be another time in the next year they would be recruiting?
I ahven't got a clue what I'm doing so any advice would be great :)
Thanks xx
Yes, it wouldn't be a bad idea to ask them how many openings they have (unless they stated this in the advert, in which case you'd look like you haven't done your research) and when/if they will be recruiting again.
Kirsty :]
17-07-2008, 23:04
Hmm. I still ahven't looked at their site properly yet which I shall do soon... but when I looked last time I'm pretty sure there was nothing on there about how many jobs they had.
Thanks :)
If i were you, i wouldn't ask about when they will be recruiting again, because it puts them in the mind-set that you don't think you will get the job. Only say positive things :)
Kirsty :]
18-07-2008, 17:22
I was beginning to think that too... liek they'll jsut think well she must not be bothered if she gets it or not if we're recruiting again. So I think I'll leave it :)
Not done alot today. I'm so bored. All my friends are busy working and all that :(
So I went to town for my Nan came home watched Jeremy Kyle then VIP shopped on the Next site haha
What you could do though, if they are recruiting for various jobs, whether they would consider you for any other job if they were to choose somebody else for the one you are being interviewed for. You could say: If I don't get this job, I would like to be considered for the job as a ??? whatever else they are offering.
Kirsty :]
18-07-2008, 17:29
The only thing I could do is a Guest Assistant... the others need loads of weird qualifications if I remember rightly. Never mind. I've heard of jobs going in various places recently so I'm going to try my best for the cinema job but if I don't get.. Im not going to get all down about it. Just have to get back on the horse and try again :D

Anyway...
Yesterday a woman told me to get off my bike because I wasn't allowed on the pavement. :moonie: The only reason I was on the pavement was because I didn't want to cross a busy junction and maybe get run over. Personal victory in that I just got back on when she walked off. Coincidentally, proving my point that my road is dangerous, this morning, when I was cycling along, where I'd crossed the road onto the pavement there was a smashed up car. Anyway she just annoyed me because she obviously doesn't have to ride with the huge lorries everyday. -rantover- :p
Tuesday there are some Masai Warriors coming to the school I'm doing work experience at! :cheer: Really looking forward to that!!!
I only have until Wednesday and then I'm free...for 10 days. Then off to Denmark wooo

It's a good job I'm paranoid sometimes!
I could hear rattling and banging but it was only mild at first so I was weary btu then it got louder and faster and I clicked.
My Nan and Granch went down though to see him and he's fine now :)
i was helping at our regatta at the sailing club its made me more and more determined to get my own boat. Im googling things as we speak.
Since yesterday I have been looking after a colleague's dog and will do so until Tuesday. I am absolutely shattered and my legs are killing me because I am not used to all these walks:) Three long walks and a short one before bedtime every day. It is good fun, I really enjoy it though. Just waited for a thunderstorm to finish, so I shall be off out again in minute.
