Last nights episode was fantastic.. it was like I was watching EE in the past.. Bianca hasn't changed and I felt so sorry for her and especially her kids sleeping in a bus shelter... swallow your pride girlie and call Ricky.
Janine was as ever brilliant.. still the same.. falling for the stuff Pat had said and then wriggling out of it saying she over heard ricky and his girlfriend talking about it... then she goes off on a typical Janine rant.. perfection as usual from Charlie brookes.. Please please let her come back and she will sort out Clare, chelsea and give Stacey a run for her money...10/10 EE
Hope Lucy does not regard her as a role model though.

Oh stupid Bianca - what on earth did she hit that police officer for? Now she herself has jeopardised her chance of keeping the kids. She could have told the police the truth - they might not have blamed her and she definitely should have told Ricky the truth. Ricky and Bianca may not be together but he has a right as Liam's father to know the truth. Even he saw something was wrong and she should never have got ina car with a total stranger. That chap looking at Liam may not have meant any harm but that man in the car was a total creep. I suspected it right from the start. Charlie Brookes was brilliant. i am starting to warm a little towards Janine despuite her bitchy ways as she was telling the truth about carving her name on the wall and I can't believe she didn't love her dad. I wish Ricky and Bianca'd et back together.

Everytime Janine is on Chris, I think of you :p.
Question.. when the police arrested Bianca.. did they leave the kids there? Or did one of the officers stay with them?

there was a female officer there too,, the other cop's partner,,
I didn't start watching Eastenders until 2000 so I never saw the original Bianca and Ricky stuff.
I can see Bianca really getting on my nerves, but I think the little girl, Tiffany (Maisie Smith) could be a great little actress for her age, and Whitney could shape up to be quite interesting if she gets the opportunity to act her age, half the time it looked like she took the mothers role and Bianca was the screaming brat.

But I don't think that she stayed behind. If she did not, it was disgusting. How old is Whitney meant to be? Not old enough to look after 3 other small kids without a home to go to, that is for sure.

Janine would certainly give Clare a very good run for her money, no contest in my opinion.
Im loving Bicana back and loved the advert at the end to show a little bit of tonight

I doubt it, is his niece staying around for a while? Because if she gets it on with Gus, it will be short-lived as he is off soon. :(
I'm liking Phil and Shirley. I hope her results are clear whenever she gets them.
Heather was brillant as usual.
Poor Bianca its good she is back and what an entrance to the square nearly knocking everyone over even hot Uncle Jack
Winston's niece?

i doubt it too, she is only here to run the stall while her uncle is away, on holiday i think?
She gets it on with Gus but I heard that Sean ends up sleeping with her so it sounds like a passing thing just to write Gus out?

Why do Ricky and Bianca shout all the time? Can't they talk a little bit quieter, I have turn the telly down every time they have a scene together.

well she did offer and seemed upset when she refused, and i cant see her throwing her own grandaughter on the street and keeping her separated from her kids
Love Ricky and Bianca back... one thing I thought was really good and highlighted a lot of thing is what Bianca said to Ricky about finding a job that pays for childcare, allows her to have time off when her kids have chickenpox or whatever and still gives her money for rent and to feed all her kids.. she is right, there is very very few jobs that allow that.. I am really lucky I have one and there but for the grace of god I go.. I could have been another Bianca..
So Phil and Shirley.. I am so glad she turned Vinnie now.. you don't turn up completely drunk to win a woman back!! that is a bad bad start.
Rustie Lee :lol: her laugh still makes me laugh..

One thing that put me off was that cringy scene where she ran out the house shouting him and everyone in the square started turning round. its like the producers are blatantly trying to recreate the past and making it obvious to us if you know what i mean. hmm
parkerman
10-04-2008, 08:46
I agree. Those were exactly my thoughts when I saw that scene. If Bianca continues to speak at a million decibles every episode I think we are soon going to get fed up with it.:wall:

This is supposed to be a mother of 3 kids ( whit isn't hers) and shes screaming like a banshee acting like the red headed teen she used to be,, for heavens sake Rickayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy has moved on and grown up,, shes still the dole mom......making excuses for her pitiful life. Ricky made all the right points, and bianca KNEW he was right, so she had to go and SHRIEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK it all over the square......bad show !!!!!! EE producers must have been smoking funny weed when they came up with those "old " ideas:wall: :wall:
I must admit that I sit and cringe when she is screaming her head off, I know we all get uptight at times and the voice level goes up but normally this lasts only for a couple of minutes, I try to make a conscious effort to calm down again but even in normal conversations Bianca seems to just shout all the time. Puts me off watching the soap, tbh. :thumbsdow

thats it now i hate that sean! that gutted me last night i really thought gus had found a nice girl :(
Keisha shouldn't be so guliable really. Sean's fault totally but the writing made absolutly no sense. Gus had known this girl for five minutes and after less than five minutes talking to Sean, she decides Gus is a womaniser and she'll sleep with Sean??? Did she forget that Gus turned her down the other day? if he was what sean said he was he would not. Shoddy writing. She jumped into bed with Sean after talking to him for five minutes. Maybe not such a nice girl..
She would have slept with Gus though, if he had invited her to stay and Sean wound her up over Gus because Gus wanted him to leave the flat to let her move in. So she might have thought that Gus does not fancy her and she therefore turned to Sean? :hmm:
JustJodi
14-04-2008, 10:07
Just when I thought Gus was going to find himself some one nice, EE goes and ruins things for him.Putting her in bed with Sean was a NO NO.. I also thought Keisha wanted that fancy diamond ring that Gus' Aunt gave him ( the ring belonged to Gus' late mother ?? ) Well I am sure Keisha is out of the picture .. unless Gus has a spine of a jelly fish !!! Seems to me he tends to choose women who will go with other men instead of him ( Sonia is an example )

I think they were friends. They were in a sort of group of young lads together with Martin and Mickey. So, I think in that sense they were mates.

I roared with laughter when Christian and his boyfriend walked in and discovered Steven in the bed. It was so funny. Steven buying a book about it and spying on Sean in the alleyway. I am glad Gus stood up to him but he took a terrible risk. Sean's different around Tanya but with everyone else he is merciless. Bianca's so selfish at times but she does love her children. Yet that eldest daughter of hers is right - its a matter of doing more than saying "sorry".

Has Bianca ever meet her other relatives i.e Bradley, Jack, Tanya, Abi and Lauren before. She didn't know who Bradley was?????
I'm not buying Sean/Roxy they are an awful couple with no chemistry now Sean/Ronnie might work better
Poor Gus i'm glad he stood up to Sean but where is Keisha isn't she suppose to be working on Winston's stall?????
Steven waiting to be deflowered and getting caught naked in Christian's bed by Christan very funny also the look on bradders face when he overhears Steven a virgin and hadn't slept with Stacey funny

i dont think she will have met tanya or abi and lauren yet but now shes on the square its only a matter of time.
what was up with ricky about the flat, why did he hesitate when pat mentioned it then just offer it to vinnie?
parkerman
15-04-2008, 10:01
Because Ricky has told Pat that he has a good job earning lots of money, when, in fact, he is out of work with no money, so he can't afford the flat.
Yes he worked for his ex's dad so with them being history he'll have been given the push. Looks like he'll end up living in Pats, I wish I had a house like that, seems to fit an endless amount of people in.
I can't work out how many bedrooms it has, Bianca said 3 or 4, but it must be 4 if the social handed the kids back (when Kevin lived there was pat, denise, kevin, carly, chelsea, squiggle and deno?)which is strange when Tanya's is only a 3 as the girls will have to share when Oscar needs a room. The Beale's only has 4 bedrooms? even after a loft conversion, as Lucy had to share with Bobby and Steven shared with Peter when Christian was there.

I doubt Max would be interested. He turned down Claire didn't he? If Bianca;'s never met her uncle or hasn't grown upp knowing him as her uncle it's quite natural. Long ago at 12/13 I had a bit of a crush on my stepmother before I ever met her but that gave way to the usual daughterly love after a while as I knew it would. Mmm I'm surprised she didn't fancy Jack rather than Max but still...

Well her uncle Jack is hot whereas Max is not.
When Bianca first arrived she made a move on David Wicks before she knew he was her dad.
I'm thinking Ronnie doesn't like kids or doesn't get on well with kids or does she have a backstory/history involving kids. :hmm:

R&R were good, as was the Stacey & Steven stuff. Don't like Clare, Bradley has gotten seriusly boring. Don't like the sound of where Tanya and Jack may be going (don't do it EE :thumbsdow ). Good episode tonight. Bradley's quite straightfoward and honest isn't he? I respect him for that. As Stacey once said he is not a typical bloke. He's gentle and sensitive. He told Claire straight out he was still thinking about Stacey so couldn't continue kissing her as it wouldn't be fair. He also told both Lydia and preeti that he liked someone else so couldn't be involved with them any more and unlike his dad he has never cheated on anyone he's been with - a very decent chap.
I enjoyed the Steven/Stacey scenes. They are ok as an item but I think Steven and Stacey are better as friends. It is nice to have a close supportive friend of the opposite sex sometimes. Stacey and Steven are too similar I think and too close in age. That is all right with friendship but can be problematic in a relationship. With Bradley he's slighly different and when people are together, differences are important as well as similarities. Bracey all the way for me. They are just right. Evil Sean for lying to Gus about Wellard but Sean's compl;etely screwed up (more so than Steven originally was). He's different around Tanya yes but Tanya's only ever loved Max and as Stacey said Max and Tanya are cut from the same cloth just as Frank and Pat were.
Can' wait for tomorrow.
I think Stacey and Steven were better as friends and I don't think Stacey really likes him that much. As a friend, yes, but not anything more. She seems to be doing it all to spite Bradley really.
CrazyLea

Yeah I've noticed that. Whenever Bradley is around she does something just to spite him!
I liked the Tanya/Jack stuff. I like seeing them together, with the kids too.
Sean made me laugh with the dog :p.
Question wasn't Darren ment to be running the car lot?
Tanya and Jack seem to have a natural relationship and they obviously feel comfortable around each other. Jack and Ronnie have never had that for me - they always seem to be trying to score points off each other.
Good point re the car lot - I remember them saying Darren would be running it too. Bad continuity or have we both missed something?

I wonder why that man declared Roxy as the winner when it said Dawn Swann on his card. I liked the kiss between Steven and Christian. That was well done and Steven kissed him not the other way round. It was obvious from the tension and everything what was going to happen. I abolutely loved that ending - he probably is bi, it's just he hasn't acknowledged it. I like the friendship Tanya and Jack have. Dot shouldn't have interfered though. If Bradley still has feelings for Stacey that is his buisiness and despite her fling with Max I think Bracey are well suited and Stacey should just be friends with Steven. He's right not to encourage Claire and Claire is right to stay out of it.
He declared Roxy the winner cos Sean threatened him. I feel sorry for Gus but how dumb is he?

Thanks. I can't believe Sean did that but then again Dawn cheated. I saw her using a calculator so I don't have that much sympathy. I am sorry for Gus but Mickey was right. Sean was winding him up.

Sean's being more horrible than usual I agree but I still think he's a good charecter (not a good person) and I'm sorry he's leaving. It's stupid to be getting rid of so many people - Honey, Sean, Steven. I'm not bothered about Honey leaving but the other two are good charecters and could be given off screen time if there are no storylines for them. I wonder if Christian knew what was going to happen and what he meant when he said "You know why" - what was he talking about?
Agreed. What I like most about the character of Sean is the relationship with Jean. One of the most interesting relationships in the square for me. Sean isn't a nice person but then there are people like that in real life. I will miss him and I feel he will leave a hole in the Slaters, even though he doesn't have much screen time with them now, there is always interesting scenes when he does see Jean.
I do feel sorry for Gus though. He is a nice guy and doesn't deserve it but then someone like Sean would never pick on the likes of Phil or Jase so they had to choose someone like Gus, for the storyline to work.

I agree about Steven and Christiasn - brilliantly acted and I loved the kiss scene. I watched it about 3 times on You Tube. Christian should keep distance really because he's older and should be more responsible and not take advantage. If Steven is comfortable being bi and wants to have a try with Chruistian then great but if not then Christian shouldn't take advantage. I think Sean's an interesting charecter and that the BBC are stupid to axe him but his bullying of Gus is horrible.

I had to watch the omnibus edition today to catch up and got so frustrated with the scriptwriting. First, Steven does not go to his room to read a book on first sexual encounters but in the living room where, of course, he gets caught out. Then he does not put his hands down as soon as he hears somebody coming into the house and is still nearly groping the mannequin when Christian and Ian walk in. !! Everytime Bradley and Stacey are in a shot, Stacey and Steven can get it on to make Bradley jealous and Clare is there to tuck Bradley's shirt into his trousers , Wellard sat unchained in an open room next to where his master was arguing with Sean about having killed him and came running in when Sean called him (sic), Roxy observes Dawn dancing around in the new dress Mickey bought her from the upstairs window and then Sean mumbles something into the main judge's ear to declare Roxy winner of the barmaid contest whilst the whole club obviously did not watch Dawn being better and quicker than Roxy and the other judges not questioning anything??? I could go on and on. I shall give the omnibus edition a miss for a while and stick to watching the daily episodes, that way I don't get an overload of nonsense.

I know this happens in all soaps, TV films, movies etc., otherwise there would not be a storyline, but not to the extent of today's omnibus of EE, I just thought it was way too much.
It looked pretty much a one-sided kiss from my point of view? Looked at though Christian looked awkward and wanted to pull away?
Yeah maybe, it did look like that even thought he was getting Steven to admit it, I dont think he would of wanted him to kiss him
I'm surprise Peggy/Phil have any spirits left to sell in the Vic with the amount the staff drinks without paying while working.
Roxy has become annoying now i really can't stand her
WTF why did Phil tell Peggy about Shirley's cancer scare?????
As usual Heather was brillant. I love her friendship with Shirley. They don't need to bring back Hazel at all.

IMO that episode was a complete mess. I feel sorry for Gus but Sean is now telling him where he can go in Walford and he whines but more or less accepts it, the wedding storyline is the pits and as for Stacey and Steven. Nervous virgin to confident, superstud in a few days:thumbsdow

I actually liked today's episode. The Stacey/Steven scenes were good. Can't stand Hazel - the woman is selfish through and through. First she breaks Minty's heart. Then she reads in a magazine that he is going to marry someone else and comes to get her man back - waltzing back in without a care in the world as though nothing happened. I am glad Minty saw sense and chose Heather. He masay not love her as such but he likes her and that can develop into love over time. Heather thinks about what Minty wants. Hazel doesn't. I'm glad Phil made Shirley go to the hospital to get her results - about time. I also liked her chat with Peggy.

I hate Hazel now. She is selfish through and through. EastEnders does a lot of personality transplants - Minty and Billy were unpleasant long ago and now both are gentle and kind. There is a lot of inconsistency. It all comes down to bad scriptwriting. That is why lots of actors want to leave EastEnders I reckon.
I really liked last night.. my heart went out to poor Heather and I was so happy when Minty picked her in the end.. nice to see the "not so pretty" girl win in the end...
Sean with Gus.. WTF.. he can't tell him where he can and can't go.. Gus, pack up yourself and your dog and get out of there now or bring in your Aunt to kick Sean's ass.. nasty man

I agree about Minty and Heather. He made the right choice. They are fantastic together. Hazel's a self centred, selfish and arrogant woman. I agree Sean can't tell Gus where he can and can' go. He has no right. I hope someone stands up to him soon. Gus should call the police. Sean may be interesting charecter wise but personality wise he's a nutcase. I know he genuinely loved Tanya but his bullying of Gus is just sick. I don't want Tanya/Jack together. I like Jack ith Ronnie and Max with Tanya but Jack/Tanya have a lovely brother/sister relationship.
Though I like Steven/Stacey more as friends and I am hoping she can be with Bradley again I don't hate Steven. I'm sometimes annoyed if he does things he shouldn't but he has a lot of problems. He'll alwys be a bit unstable but I suppose because of the way he is it is understandable that he's in denial that he is gay or bi or whatever. I still have sympathy for him though I can't condone it if he does wrong.

Yes, it was such a lovely moment when Minty proposed to Heather! :)
Surely Minty's and Heather's wedding is not legal seeing Heather called herself Hazel Hobbs and how come the Registrar just smiled and said "Well, seeing we are here" and carried on despite knowing the truth? And that woman from the magazine had no problem with it! I am really despairing at the storylines in EE at the moment. :wall:
Heather looked gorgeous though in her wedding outfit and I hope that the scriptwriters let them have a happy relationship, whether legally married or not.

I'm so glad Minty and Heather finally married. They are so right together. Ok maybe Minty doesn't love her but he does like her and liking can develop into love. Queenie is so horrible. I hope she is axed soon. I don't believe Steven was thinking of Christian when Stacey kissed him even if he is bi. It's just Christian winding him up. I know Christian doesn't know Steven has/had mental problems but people like Steven still have to be handled with kid gloves. I would be careful round him. Gus is right - Sean is dangerous. I was sorry for Sean when Tanya dumped him and when he confided to Tanya that he manslaughtered his dad but his bullying of Gus is really bad. He's more crazy than Steven these days. So, Roxy's been on drugs before - maybe that was Ronnie's secret so it's implied - sounds a bit like Tanya and Raine. Jack should have told Ronnie he fired Sean for drug dealing.
Gus is an idiot. I feel for the bloke alot but what did he achieve by doing that? If he wants Sean sorted out he needs to go and talk to Stacey or Mo.
Still don't like the wedding lark. Queenie is vile (can iamgine her and Sean locked in a room together. Who would win?:ninja: ) Phil and Shirley are a great match.
Am tired of seeing Stacey playing games. She changed her mind cos she saw Bradley.

Great episode tonight, loved the wedding, i loved it when ronnie decks sean, pure class.
Also cannot believe the way stacey acted tonight by kissing steven in front of bradley just to make him jealous and playing games to wind bradley up, has'nt she realised he has been through enough, i think stacey still loves bradley deep down, perhaps when steven goes she will realise what she had lost in losing bradley as i have heard they get back together later on this year.

Bradley knows Stacey's stringing Steven along and that down deep insiode she still loves Bradley but Bradley was too decent to do that to Claire. It isn't fair on Steven. She knows he is unstable. I too hope Stacey and Bradley get back together but i am sorry Steven's leaving. He is one of my favourite charecters now. I loved the wedding and I'm glad Ronnie slapped Sean - he had it comming. this wedding stuff has confused me from the start,
this wedding stuff has confused me from the start,
Minty and Hazel were going to get married and entered the competition to win the wedding expenses. Hazel left after realising she could not give Minty a baby which he would like, Minty and everybody else thought she will be back soon and did not tell the magazine about Hazel's disappearance. When the mag sent a photographer to take pictures of the happy couple, Heather stepped in and pretended to be Hazel and has done since. So now Minty married Hazel Hobbs who in reality is Heather, hence I question the legality of this marriage.

I'm definitely watching the omnibus because I liked today's episode. The Sean/Gus scenes were not as violent as I expected. Though i still hate Sean's buullying of Gus, today when he was reading that poetry and talking - I couldn't help feeling worried about Sean and I think Gus was too. Obviously he was scared and angry - who wouldn't be? But his eyes - he looked like he ws going crazy and the way Gus looked at him in silence. I think Gus can see he is cracking up and despite being angry and afraid he is worried about Sean too. I liked the Beales scenes. I wish Steven hadn't made that homophobic comment but I'm glad he stood up to Christian. It is not nice of Christian to continually wind him up. I knew Jack and Tanya wouldn't kiss though they came lose - Tanya loves Max and Jack won't do that to his brother - he's quite decent in that way. I'm glad of it. They have a lovely brother/sister relationship and this would just ruin that.
I warmed to Shirley/Vinnie a bit but Vinne still feels like a spare part to me. I wish someone would actually mention that legally Heather and Minty are not married. I cannot believe not even they themselves have mentioned this:rolleyes:
Dislike Jack. Roxy/Jack was just stupid. Feel for Ronnie. I think Roxy drinks more than anyone in the show and that is an achievment. The Beale family meal was interesting but Christian is bang out of order.
Feel so sorry for Gus. It is good he gets a decent exit storyline (more than Pretti got) It will be interesting to see what the Slaters say about all of this if they find out.
Sean is so horrible to Gus.

I think it is all frustration, Jack because Ronnie is keeping him at arms length at the moment and Roxy is feeling bullied by Ronnie who cares for her sister but is probably stifling her somewhat, checking her handbag and relling her off for drinking too much, at least in Roxy's opinion. Not the right thing to do to take your frustration out with your sister's fella and the two of them will have to pay the consequences, that is for sure.
Why did Shirley spoil Garry's date with the photographer? What business is it of hers to tell lies about him? I know Garry is somewhat of a pratt but he still deserves a bit of romance in his life, like everybody in this world.

I wish Christian hadn't done that. It is Steven's decision not his and it is not Christian's place to interfere. It was just one kiss. Steven didn't cheat on her. I still think they are better as friends though and I hope this means Stacey and Bradley eventually get back together. I thought Ian was going to find out what was happening but he went away when the noise stopped. Good thing Stacey went in. She was probably shocked. Sean did not have psycho eyes today like he did on Friday - that is a shame. I wish Claire hadn't thrown away Bradley's Star Trek.

Gus is right. Sean is losing his mind. Even Roxy said he was acting weird. I really hope he manages to get some help. I had a sliver of sympathy for him today though Stacey was right to slap him. I wish Steven hadn't lied. He has only recently regained Ian and Jane's trust. He is obviously still not well. I don't believe he is pretending to be better because all the shaking and everything has gone. He is better but i don't think he is fully stable. I have a feeling he is starting to relapse a bit because he went off his medication. Was Tanya about to take Stacey's hand? It wasn't quite clear. I wonder why Stacey said no. I'm glad the ice is starting to break between Tanya and Stacey. I'm also glad Stacey did not tell anyone else what her brother was about to do. Sean ran away when he saw Stacey - I don't think he could kill Gus in front of her. He does have affection for his sister.

I can't blame her for begging Gus not to call the police. It is obvious Sean needs help and I think police involvement at this stage would tip him over the edge. She shouldn't have barged into Tanya's house I agree. That was wrong. As for the Slaters, she should have had a word with Charlie and Mo in private and explained what was going on and what Sean was going to do and asked if Sean could stay but told them not to confront him about it.

Gus should have developed a back bone and called the cops as soon as Stacey left the apartment. So what if Gus shops him.I know Stacey was trying to protect Sean, but some times TOUGH LOVE helps in the long run.As long as Stacey is around to "bail" him out Sean will always be on the brink of totally going off the rails .
Sean is really really really messed up,, he and Steven should get a room together in the mental health ward..
Yea Stacey was out of order barging in the Vic,, and barging in Tanya's home,,also dragging Sean back to the Statlers was not on either...Who does she think she is ??
What the heck was Steven playing at:angry:   Christian did the right thing letting him down easily. Steven does not handle rejection very well . Mo " hes gone all Graham Norton"

I really wanted Tanya to tell Stacey about Sean killing their dad it would be a good revenge for her

It wouldn't be right. Sean told her that in confidence and why hurt Stacey like that just for revenge? What's the point? Sean did not actually intend to kill his dad. I like the Sean storyline better than the Steven one at the moment. Sean couldn't do it in front of his sister because he loves her but copuld do with some help i agree.

he should have taken off and left the square with wellard, far away from sean. Mickey isnt exactly gonna stop sean doing anything if he really wants it done
But maybe went to the police before leaving the square just to make sure sean got what he deserved
I really hope we get a reveal of what happened with Sean/his dad before he goes. IMO it would be fantastic. Sean, Stacey, Jean, maybe Tanya etc.

This totally annoyed me especially Ian's bigotted attitude.. saying to christian that he is not to go near the kids party cause he is gay and came on to steven.. Steven was soooooo pleased, I wonder why?? maybe cause he knew Daddy took his side and he doesn't have to face any question.. Tell the truth Steven
I was disappointed that Jane just accepted Steven's story so easily as well and sided with him and Ian against Christian. Have they forgotten how devious Steven can be? Jane had him living with her while Ian was locked up, she more than anyone knows what a good liar he is.

I may be being thick but what did actually happen with the cocaine? Did Jean put cocaine in the cake? Did he sell baking powder to that guy in the park and what did he pour down the sink.
I think he replaced the cocaine with baking powder but didn't put the whole tub of baking powder in the bag so a small bit was left which Jean used for the cake.
He obviously still had the coke cos he was seen dealing later on.
I don't get when he would have swapped it over though if he was locked in his room?

The pill was in powder form so I would've thought being sick wouldn't affect it because it would already be in her system...?
But if she slept with Jack on the Friday/Monday (those two episodes overlapped), then she's stretching the time limit because it's three days and she took it on the Thursday...

You can differ if you like - fine by me. I was a bit shocked by what he was about to do but though his actions are blatantly wrong it doesn't make him evil if he is not mentally in the right frame of mind. I do not believe he kidnapped Lucy - I think she ran away but contacted Steven and that unfortunately by that time Steven was ill again. I mostly blame this on lazy scriptwriting - he was supposed to be a redeeming charecter. His actions may be evil but he is not - he is clearly not well.

Ok..lets go back to May and Stella.. clearly both unwell but they did acts of evil.. I don't see how steven is any different...
I know you do not like Steven but I still can't help sympathising with him. I had sympathy for May too - actually May is still one of my favourite charecters. This relapse happened because Steven went off his meds which he shouldn't have done. I can't like Stella because she abused Ben and Ben was a child. These things are complex. I have never ever condoned anyone's wrong actions - I sympathise with some but not others for a multitude of reasons. Janine for example I was very slightly sorry for at Frank's funeral but otherwise no because she had so many chances - from Terry, Billy etc and just wasted them - I am sure Steven would have been glad to have half the chances Janine did. Look with some there are qualities that still make ome people slightly sorry for them.
Sean for instance. I hated his bullying of Gus and with Sean he was going to kill Gus because he was insane but he did not do it in front of Stacey. Sean has some redeeming qualities;
He does not bully or show violence toward women
He truly loved Tanya
He genuinely loves Stacey.
So, though i can dislike him at times when he does wrong and be sorry for him at times when he shows he is not evil he still has those redeeming qualities. With Steven he is part of the Beale family whatever he has done. He is not a stranger like Stella. I know what he tries to do to Pat is shiocking - I did squirm a bit but on the other hand he has never shown any kind of violence towards anyone, least of all women. He may sometimes be unable to control his anger like when he trashed his on stall but he was in shock when he witnessed Pat's accident. He ignored both Lucy and Ian's calls and sat on the bench, shaking. It is true that when he thought Pat was a danger to him....but remember he was off his meds and unwell - not an excuse but a reason. With May I have sympathy because she is infertile and basically I have slightly more empathy with her. May, Steven and Sean do not hurt children - one redeeming feature.
There are very few people I actually hate and mainly because they have no good qualities. With Stella there was no good quality. Trevor and Craig I had to hate because Trevor was an abusive person and Craig was a psychopath. Both were strangers, not a member of a family in the square. It was wrong of Steven to lie to Lucy but I do not believe that he would actually hurt her. We will have to agree to dffer on this. By ther way that is the reason partly that I have not posted here that much. I have still been reading these boards. I am only saying that I have sympathy with some people but not others. It is true that Steven needs more help and needs to get back on his medication but as Aaron said I think he genuinely loves his family but has to fight his demons. The only comment I will make is that Aaron is performing Steven really well. I will always have some sympathy for Steven but it is true that he has done wrong and needs help. Can I just ask if the reason you don't sympathise with Stella is because she abused a child??? if yes, then what steven is doing to Lucy is also terms as abuse.. he is mentally abusing her into thinking nobody cares and she is better off on her own and please bear in mind Lucy is only 3 years older than Ben, still very much a child

Plus he mentally abused her and Peter previously by making them think that their mother was still alive. Remember when "she" made contact with Lucy saying that she wanted to meet her - Peter was really upset thinking that his mum didn't want to see him.
I agree with the majority that Steven is evil rather than unwell, although I've always used the term rotten! His behaviour leading up to locking Ian up and his behaviour now towards Lucy is both pre-meditated and planned very cunningly . Even last night, the way he got into Pat's cubicle and then asked about closing the curtain, he knew what he was going to do. He didn't act on a moment of impulse. When Pat was knocked down and we then saw Steven sitting on the bench he wasn't sorry for what happened, he wasn't concerned as to the welfare of his Grandmother, his only concern was that his big secret was out and he was about to get rumbled.
Ok..lets go back to May and Stella.. clearly both unwell but they did acts of evil.. I don't see how steven is any different...

I have highlighted the points that struck me most. It seems you just excuse Steven's behaviour because he is off his medication. Well, why is nobody picking up on that and asking him whether he is or not? Why do you not make the excuse for all the other creeps, that they should go on medication? Stella, Trevor, Craig you hate because they were abusive and psychopaths, Because Sean, who is insane in your opinion does not kill an innocent guy in front of his sister, this gives him some redeeming qualities? I can't follow your way of thinking, to me they were/are all evil ( from Wikipedia :Evil is a broad term used to indicate a negative moral or ethical judgment, often used to describe intentional acts that are cruel, unjust, or selfish. Evil is usually contrasted with good, which describes intentional acts that are kind, just, or unselfish.), seems a good enough description to me for all of them. And with regards to having chances like Janine did - he was put up by his beloved Nan, was given a job on the market stall, in the fish and chip shop etc, etc. What more could he have wanted?

Had Roxy been drinking?
No, she turned around to say something to Ben, so she couldn't see where she was going. She'd probably be done for driving without due care and attention, although if Pat ran out into the road without looking she should take a share of the blame for the accident.
Carol
I have highlighted the points that struck me most. It seems you just excuse Steven's behaviour because he is off his medication. what is selfish about the whole thing is that he flushed his medication in front of Pat and she told him not to but he insisted he was better. You are 100% right about the chances he was given.. Ian and Jane forgave him and took him in, gave him a job.. Considering what he put Ian through, he is luck to get that chance.. Remember Steven was the one to go to N. Zealand and stay there and Steven now wants Ian back and to himself... I find no redeeming quality in him at all.. He has a job, a family who care for him, he did have a girlfriend who supported him and yet he has thrown all this away, including hurting the one person who would do anything for him and protect him Nana Pat!!!

That's because he has no redeeming qualities. Everything he does is premeditated. He does not act on the spur of the moment. He lies and cheats and now even stoops to murder. You can't just explain this away by saying he is not on his medication. As others have said before he is pure evil.

She wasn't looking where she was going but also she was probably still hungover from the night before  1 unit of alcohol takes one hour to be broken down by the liver and she drinks a lot...so Roxy could still be over the limit even if it's the next day...
