It was my 18th yesterday, mum got me my first legal drink. I felt all grown up. My mate did me a well nice photo thing with pictures of us growing up and put it in a big frame it was well nice.

I know what you mean Tori i hated this time of year last year as there was hardly any lessons there was no point in even coming back after exams.

Im looking for a job due to finishing all my exams and officially left college.

Abigail
25-06-2007, 11:16
School's just been closed due to the rain. The corridoors and toilets are flooded and the flat roofs are about to fall through. It was closed last week because a ceiling in the design block fell through and the whole place flooded. The field is completly under water. It's closed til Wednesday :cheer: :cheer:

I've never seen so much rain, the front garden is flooded and the back getting there.

Katy
25-06-2007, 15:28
who thougth the rain could have so much joy. We never had that much joy. There was one time when all the other schools closed andours wouldnt let us go home so we all ran and tried to escape.

Boring day, trying to find a job for the summmer.

Wow really? I been seeing the rain on the news, looks horrible. There's been hardley any rain here, just a few odd showers, but it's mostly just windy.

Pinkbanana
25-06-2007, 23:24

I'd pop along to the chemist them petal! :)

Its been lashing it down up here.....have been considering whether to start building my own ark, especially if it continues to rain like this much longer....

My town was on GMTV this morning - the woman was in her wellies as my town got flooded!

I went to the cinema this afternoon as it was my friend's birthday. We watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3, its a really good movie, lots of action in it!

Then we went to Pizza Hut and spent 2 hours in there eating food! I was absolutely stuffed by the end of it all and i ended up breaking the ice cream machine! :o

It's been a good day though!

Katy
26-06-2007, 15:12
the weathers crazy, we havent had any flooding due to the place where i live being on a hill.

The weather has been fine here!! I feel sorry for all you guys in the midlands and north- it looks bloody awfull! Come down to London- we have have tarmac and air pollution :D Its not rained too badly since Saturday, and has been ok all day today. Only spitting a bit yesterday. As you'll know if you've watched Wimbledon.

I've had a good few days. Life is cool, dont you think? Got my Summer Ball on Friday- and we're all down as 18 year olds, so its basically a big **** up on the River Thames (Its a river boat ball. One of those biiiiig ones). Then i'm off down and across to Cornwall, kind of St Ives area, for some surfing. Which will be very very funny. Because all my mates are there, and my mates rock my sexy socks.

Had 3 days off due to the rain which was good. We didn't get flooded but the other end of town did and quite a few villages along the river did too.

Went on a field trip to Filey today to do seashore ecology. It was really boring so we just cheated when we collected our results. We were supposed to put a quadrat down on the seaweed, generate a random number using a claculator, choose the relevent square, pull the seaweed through the hole, measure it and count how many frongs it had. There was no way we were going to take 100 readings in 30mins so we just made some results up. Went for fish and chips which were ridiculously expensive so I had a chip butty and it was awful. We played a points game, 10 points for the first to see the sea, 5 for a cliff, 5 for a flag, 20 for any rock pool creature, 50 for anybody who is in the sea and 5 for another mode of transport other than a car. I won and got a stick of rock.

My sister is moving out tonight so I'm getting her bedroom when its redecorated.

Grrrr I'm annoyed. I was meant to be working today. I left the house normal time, the time I leave everyday, and got to a certain point and saw the bus driving off :| So in other words, I missed the work bus :( Wouldn't be so bad if there was another bus, but there isn't! I really needed the money aswell :( And now my mum is blaming me, but I swear it was early!!

i have been camping for the weekend, well friday night to saturday as we did a sailing 12 hour race in southport. It was great, got a good 14th place out of 20 boats and everyone got a sail. Really pleased with everything. Went out Friday night for a meal which was nice and then sailed and started the race at 8 AM saturday morning with the grand total of thirty minutes sleep which what i have been catching up on today.

Hope you two had good proms.

I've just got back from camping for the weekend - it was so much fun! I won Hairiest Person On Camp Award, just because, we had to do a challenge where we had to do a fashion show and out of binbags and felt tips, i dressed up as a woman. I put some felt tip on my face for rosy cheeks and eye liner and for a joke, the others in my group drew a moustache on me and that's why i won that Hairiest Person Award basically. :D

The leader pulled a joke on me saying the felt tips were permanent marker and I believed them thinking I would be stuck with felt tip on my face for the rest of my life!

We also did an assault course and that was great fun and i didn't lose my boxers on the tyre tunnel this time! :D My face got absolutely covered in mud though and i walked into the wrong camp at one point, it was quite funny!

Then on friday me and some friends went to alton towers, we had a goood laugh, but the fire alarm went off in the hotel at 1.16am  then on saturday it rained so we got a bit wet, and then today i worked so now i am KNACKERED!

Yesterday was a really busy day for me, I was gald I had something to do though rather than being lazy again. I was at dancing for 8 hours yesterday. It started off as a extra ballet class for 2 hours and then we did some modern and then it was time for the normal class I go to which I now stay later in, to join in with the adults class.

Lol, I hate having to rush. I went back to sleep once and had like 5 minutes to get ready for school.

I've done more coursework than I usually do at a weekend today, and guessed my maths coursework, lol! I think I've gone over the word limit for a question of my history coursework, so I'll have to type it up and see.

I feel really, really ill and my work experience is starting tomorrow. I don't know what I am going to do but I think I have a cold so I been taking a few paracetamol (not in one go obviously lol). I feel very weak and last night I couldn't stop waking up, must have woke up over 10 times or something and I felt really hot and tired. I really do want to go for my first day there, I think I will still go even if I collapse lol!

EDIT: Great I just had a nosebleed

I hope your feeling better spicy, ps glad to see you back, not been around in a while.

We had our competition, was a complete disaster, but at the end of the day we did our best which was all we could do. Very tired now though. And hungary.

.:SpIcYsPy:.
08-07-2007, 18:26
No, still not good but thank-you very much :) xx

When will you find out the results? Was it all a disaster or did you just thinkit was your band? I'm sure you did well and as you said you did the best you could do! Well done x

Kim
08-07-2007, 22:29
I was the same, Spicy. I lost my voice the day before mine, and went regardless of spending half of it not being able to say a lot. I'm glad I did though.

Today I've typed and shortened another 2 of my questions for my history coursework, and sorted some media out. Glad it's out of the way. Had a bit of a headache, but luckily it's gone now. Also spoken to a friend that I haven't spoken to in ages this weekend :)

Really don't want to go to school tomorrow. I have a horrible feeling I'm going to be made to apologise to someone I ended up yelling at because she was laughing at me, and I have no intention of ever doing it.

Katy
09-07-2007, 14:20
We oufnd the results, and we were right it was a disaster last place, but picked up individual prizes Euph, and percussion so won money that way. It was an alright day i suppose

nightmare this morning, flaming key would let me in the door so had to go into town and fins the yellow pages to phone a lock smith, then had to get 65 quid call out charge and eventually about 3 hours later, afer a downpour, i got back in.

Took my friend to see Anthony Gormley's exhibition blind light today, and afterwoods we sat on the grass near the London Eye and decided to go to the London aquarium, which was suprisingly fun! :)

A few stops before home it started raining..by the time we got to our stop it was a thunderstorm. Unfortunately me and my friend live in opposite directions and she had the umbrella. So I thought I'd make a run for it. In the pouring rain. With thunder and lightning. Not the best idea I'd ever had :p

It could've been worse...it started hailing a few minutes after I got home

I've got the afternoon off because more lessons have been cancelled due to sports day. Its getting beyond a joke, last week I did 7 out of 15 hours that I usually do. The week before I did about the same. In total, in the past month I've only attended for 20 out of 60 hours because of lessons cancellations.

So this afternoon I'm going to sit on the hammock and read my book. Its a lovely day today, even if it is a bit muggy.

No doubt when I get to school tomorrow I'll be coming straight back home again...

i know, it's ridiculous, before we went on study leave it was drummed into us how important these weeks are, i have nothing to show for them and the other week i went to 2 lessons out of 14 that week, which wasn't exactly great but i was just so angry! luckily we finish tomorrow so i can relax and then hell will start again after the summer!

I don't finish til next Friday :( but at this rate I might as well not bother turning in at all.
Started stripping the wallpaper off the walls in my new bedroom. My sister still has half of her stuff here (bed, wardrobes, fish tank, desk...) so we're having to work around her. I wouldn't mind but she has a 3 bedroomed house and there's only 2 of them living there. Its not like she's lacking the space.

we are trying to my sisters room, trouble is she still lives here so were working round her we have the bed in the middle of the hall at the minute, dead classy.

Commendation assembly today, and they made it boiling by putting fairy lights up. We had to wear jumpers in order to disguise that our shirts weren't tucked in, because the head was there.

I think summer has arrived at last, lol!

I'm going to Thorpe Park :) I found out this morning that you had to have 2 postcards home or more to go on it, and so was outraged when I didn't have a letter and I have had 4 of them. It turns out my tutor gave out the letters when I wasn't there, and I was trying to ask him for my letter, but he wasn't listening, so I ended up having to go in the register and help myself to my letter!

Why didn't you just tuck in your shirts?.

Summer not arrived here :( Been really cloudy all day, looks like rain may be on it's way.

What does postcards home mean lol? Good that you're going to Thorpe Park though! Hope you have fun :)

11-07-2007, 17:52
It doesn't look good, and it's harder to tuck them in when your trousers have some clasp thing instead of a button, I find.

Postcard home is like a gold slip, but we've had postcards since last year because of the specialist status.

I'm really looking forward to it, even though my best friends are invited, but don't want to go.

Why are you nervous?

I went bowling and to the cinema today with my mates - it was fun! I won one of the games against my friends and i was really surprised as i started off crap but improved as we kept playing..

Then we went on a few arcade machines, we all went on a racing game thing, but i ended up putting my money in my friend's slot so i paid for him to have a go twice at racing, whilst i couldn't understand why i wasn't playing as i thought i put my money in my slot - i went to complain saying i lost my money but then realised how dumb i was and that i put my money where my friend put his money into!

We then went to see a film "Is it over yet?" or something but i didn't think much of it..and there were a load of kids chucking popcorn everywhere anyway.

The stupid thing they call a computer at school lost my coursework!

If your school is anything like mine then all your work will be backed up on a tape. Every night at our school they save all the info from everybody's user things onto a magnetic tape then if there is a fire or something important gets deleted it can be replaced. You should ask your IT teacher/technician.

My day was pretty average. I forgot I had a driving lesson today (the instructor wrote it down as next Thurs) so I'd just finished washing my hair when she arrived and I didn't have any money either. Anyway, I feel that my driving is getting a lot better given that I have had a two week break. So its a three hour lesson on Tuesday and another one the following Tuesday. I can't even afford one hour at the moment so I don't know where I'm going to find the money for six (£120).

The old lady that I clean for is still in hospital so thats another week without any money :thumbsdow I've got a feeling that she won't be home for a while yet. She's been in on and off (more 'on') for three months now (DVT, heart attack, stroke, leg ulcers, drug reactions etc).

Quite a fun day I reckon. Considering I had work. Never seen it so busy where I was today (restaurant), rest of the park was dead, we couldn't move where we were, had to send people away. Yet, I was very, very hyper. Was a bit buzzing :p Not sure why, but it was fun :D.

Hasn't stopped pouring with rain since half 6 this morning either! Just keeps getting worse!!! It's lush :).

I went to the IT technician, and he said that it probably wouldn't be on the back-up. He told me that they back it all up every night, but said that it probably didn't save properly as I had about a paragraph from 3 pages. So I spent 3 and a half hours doing it again, and I can't remember some of the stuff I put. It was over the word limit as it was, so I guess it saves me some time shortening it.

Abi
13-07-2007, 22:56
Why didn't you back it up, if its important work?

CrazyLea
13-07-2007, 22:58
That's a good point..

When I went to college this year.. well last year, ya know.. they told us all to invest in a pendrive... and it is the best investment I have made for college/school. I back everything up on it!! The amount of times the college computers have lost my work is crazy, but I've always had it on the USB.

Kim
13-07-2007, 23:04
I thought it was on the computer and my USB, but today it was only the 1 paragraph on both.

Yup, same here. And on my laptop at home. Then if 1 messes up, you always have another 2 copies. I put my USB on my keys, so its always with me. So whenever i save anything important at school, i save it onto my USB at the same time. Nice and easy, and you dont lose a thing. They're cheap too.

I went to see the new Harry Potter film today. To be honest, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be! Too much hype

The film was kind of spoiled by these little 12/13 year old chavs who kept annoying me and one of my friends...they were making silly noises and crawling around the floor switching seats etc all the way through the film!

Arghh I tried being nice, being rude, ignoring them nothing worked! Near the end of the film though I started laughing as if what they were saying was funny but then I got the giggles and that seemed to annoy them

My USB was saving every 5 minutes, or so I thought. IT techicain thinks it wasn't saving properly, as the computer I was on is on the smaller of the two networks at the school, and they're more unreliable.

I might be seeing the film tomorrow, and I'd go mental if I had to put up with that. Going to the fair, though. :)

Anywho, me and my mate walked so much today lol! To make it worse it was sooo hot, and there were quite a few hills :|. Not good! Wasted hellish lots of money on crap :S. Bought about 4/5 drinks, now I have no money til Thurs grrr, and it's my dad and grammas birthday Thurs and not bought anything! So last min shopping for me!

I'm off on Friday, so I'm gunna phone up the school in the morning, ask to speak to one of my old teachers, ask them if they will do it, if they say yes then i'll go up there. My dad got his boss/friend to do mine, because he'd known me from when I was little. It was annoying though - I thought I wouldn't get a passport in time because my mum had to get a new application form and start it all over again as he went out of one of the boxes.

Ben skived Media, because he thought the coursework would be in today. I can't wait until the end of the practical production - I've been trying to keep him and another boy on task for a month and a half. I must have slave written across my forehead. I have to get the cameras, the tripod, DV lead, bring the trophy, neaten up their storyboards.

Spent far too long looking at carpets, tiles and bathroom suites tonight, and we had to get my gran's birthday present.

Am now trying to do part of my cousework, but I'm not doing a lot.

I hate Doctors :(

I went to the Doctors a few weeks back about my fainting, and was sent for a blood test. Apparently, i have a Folic Acid deficency. I thought you only needed that when you were pregnant :rotfl: Goes to show how much i know  Anyway, it basically means that my body cant absorb Iron from my food. Apparently, its unusual for someone like me to have it, cause i have a very good diet, and dont eat junk food, and eat lots of healthy foods. So i have to have Folic Acid and Iron supplements for 4 months, and have another blood test in 6 weeks to check that it is going up. If it isn't, then they are going to check my digestion, because appartly there are disorders which also stop you from absorbing foods.

So long and short of it, its not good!

On brighter notes, i went surfing a few weeks back. Which was a lot of fun. I've got a BBQ tomorrow with my college friends, and another BBQ on Saturday night. Going to the cinema tonight as well. Break up from college on Fri, which is good.

I was looking forward to a nice long summer of doing nothing until yesterday. I was told last night that the common room is being painted over the summer (results day and the day before that). Its a huge room, i have no idea how we're going to get in done in two days. Its in a big victorian building so the ceilings are about three times the normal height :(

We've been given a stack of physics homework to do including lots of research and I've got some biology coursework to crack on with. My business studies teacher is leaving so we've got somebody new next year which I'm a bit wary about. It takes me ages to trust a teacher enough to ask/answer questions so it looks like I'm going to fail.

On the upside, my driving instructor has said I should get a shifty on and book my theory test because I'll be ready for the practical test soon

Do fish have tongues? Mum has fed the fish and one of them is mooching around the bottom of the tank with its mouth open and it looks like it has a tongue.

Went to the opticians for a sight test and contact lense check this morning and got a free optomap thing that scans the cornea or something. It was a bit freeky seeing the back on my eye on a computer. Then I went shopping and bought two necklaces.

Am now a fan of the bad weather, as it caused them to cancel sports day. My dog's out after his operation, so that's good. Managed to have the second shouting match in 2 days. School finished today. The teachers were searching people's bags on the way into school from dinner and confiscating shaving foam. One of the assistant heads got egged. Four people were arrested at dinner for criminal damage and assault. The cops were called at the end of school just in case people started foam fights, 7 cops turned up with two cars and a riot van! Shortly after I got in I heard cop car sirens so some more people must have been arrested. Somebody also got a finger chopped off as well.
So, all in all it was a good afternoon. Didn't do anything during business because our teacher is one of the assistant heads so he had to go walk round the school making sure everything was ok.

Abigail
20-07-2007, 20:46
Its not rough, its a very good school actually. The teachers just don't like us to have a bit of fun on the last day. All the stuck up neighbours phone the police when somebody squirts shaving foam all over their cars so the school just call the police as a precaution. The teachers have wised up this year, they went searching in the bushes for shaving foam and came out with half of Tesco.

My school would probably do that, as well. There's a public road going right through the school, and some people's houses look out straight onto it. I don't know of any pranks that have been done, apart from kids sending teachers up the wall by walking on the roof.

My friend is in Year 9 at a different school and she's planning to put superglue over everything, including the phone and chairs. I wouldn't want the bill for that!

Urgh, looks like I'm in for a long night. It sounds like the neighbour is having a party in the street rather than in his house! I think the parents are still away, leaving a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds to make as much noise as they like!

Firstly i want to start of saying im glad your okay Shivs :)

Secondly wednesday we (me mum dad my brother and my bro's mate) went camping (not just in some random field it was a propper site a bit like Haven holiday park) wednesday (was meant to come home today) it was nice to get away (though it felt like we was there longer than 29 hours) it was all going good until it got really windy and the tent kept going flat because the wind blew against it so hard that it struggled to stay up so we decided we couldnt stay another night started packing up then i went to wash me hands because it was like almost packed up and i couldnt do anything else then i come back out and its pissing it down with rain so its a damn good job we did pack up before it got to that stage then they tell me that while i was gone dad broke the tent. It was so funny everything was blowing away and i had to lay on it then when it started raining dad goes move all that gear into the car so it dont get wet so im trying to do that and the toilet roll has blown down the other end of the site so i chase that then all the crisps blow away but all in different directions so i had to go and case after them too - it was mental.

After it was all packed up we followed my older brother and his new girlfriend to a pub and had a couple of drinks before leaving to go home.

Bless ya Kath - I'll try but with a hubby that seems to be working longer and longer hours (trying to remember what he looks like at the mo  ) and with the 3 monsters already to look after - no chance :(

Shiv! OMG hun thats awful - I'm glad you are ok, but shocking no less. I'm so glad you are alright though.

Oh Kath, I'd probably go for brown ones, but then I'm not any good with fashion lol (have you seen the way I dress  )

Day before yesterday, cleaned the house top to bottom, cleaned the windows, shake and vac'd (are you singing the ad yet :D) and put some lovely carnations round the house, so looking loverly (not that the hubby notices but hey ho, I liked it and the boys appreciated it). Then spent all of yesterday and last night finally sorting out our VAT return, Month End and Year End accounts, so can finally relax till next week when all the paperwork will start again

And my hubby says I do nothing  He needs to watch me for a couple of days and see how much I really do....

Hope everyone has a great weekend if I don't speak to you x

Interim report came through from school :(

I have no idea why some of my target grades have gone down. And if they're right about which column is current progress, then I'm screwed in December when they march everyone up to the headmaster for a number between 3 and -3 with 0 being getting what you're supposed to. If they think that report's worth the paper it's written on, I'll get about -2. My worst subject is my highest on the whole thing, and, eurgh.

Business teacher can't make her mind up. She's had:

Estimated Target

CD B
A A*
A B

I'm blaming the CD on the CAT tests that I didn't finish, and was on a sleepover just before I sat them.

Hopefully the time will improve over the summer hols, where I am hoping to read more. I am now going to get of here and FINALLY make a start on HP6! Will let you know how I get on

I think I'm in the early stages of dementia. :rotfl: :rotfl: I planned to go to TK Max today to look for a handbag and shoes to go with my dress for the wedding. Marley didn't want to come so I dropped her off at her cousins and when and got the bus. For some reason I went to the wrong out of town shopping complex and I didn't realise until I had sat on a bloody bus for over an hour. It was only when I got off the bus did I remember this is not were TK Max was, but by then it was too late to jump on another bus because by the time I had got back into the centre of Edinburgh to catch the correct bus TK Max would have been closed. So I just decided to look around the shops where I was and I found a bag and a pair of shoes for the wedding.

Kim

Aw Kim honestly I couldn't believe it. Both the out of town shopping centres look similar and the bus that I got on doesn't even go any where near where the shopping centre that TK Max is at, but it didn't dawn on me until I got off the bus and I was like looking at all the shops saying hang on were's TK Max then the penny dropped and I realised I was at the wrong end of Edinburgh. It was 4pm and it would have taken me another 40 mins on the bus to get back into Edinburgh then another 20 on a different bus to get to were I was supposed to be and TK Max closes at 5 on a Sunday. What a complete Twit

Went to the Alan Ball memorial football match yesterday - it was good :) Met a few stars, including Joe Pasquale who was really nice and Gerard Kearns (ian from Shameless) he was knackered bless him! It was a good day until we had to get the train back, and i didn't have any ID on me to prove i was only 15 so they charged me for an adult ticket,i kicked up a huge fuss because i object to paying adult prices when i can still legally get child tickets - just because i look older they make me pay more  And usually i carry ID to prove my age. Yeh and then we got stuck in town for an hour and then we had to walk about 5 miles down country roads at 11 o clock last night because the Taxi never turned up
So it was a good day until we had to come home!!

I went to the hospital today to see the cardiologist. It was a complete farce. I got there only to be told that the consultant that I should be seeing has left and there was no consultants in clinic today, only registrars. I don't object to seeing a registrar but it was my first appointment, I've waited 6 months for an urgent appointment plus two years to get a referral and as it's a potentially fatal problem (Wolff Parkinson White) that I may have it would be nice to see somebody who probably knows a lot more about it.

So anyway, after that fiasco I had an ECG then went in to see the doctor. Got in there and he had no ECG tracings or heart scans or any other test readings because the paediatrician that I was under hadn't put copies of them in the notes when they were faxed over. The paediatrician hadn't even referred my to the cardiologist, it was a neurologist that referred me. The doctor had a complete set of neurology reports and notes but thats pointless. There's a big difference between my brain and my heart.

The cardiologist was really good though, there wasn't much that he could do without the ECG tracings except refer me for a week long ECG and an exercise test. There was a delta wave that showed up on the ECG that I had there which is indicative of WPW but the doctor said he was looking to exclude the condition not diagnose it.

So really it was a waste of time going. All I got out of it was yet more heart tracings. How many more do they want, they must have about fifteen of them in two years. Grr, it wouldn't have happened if I had never had seen that paediatrician in the first place and just transferred to another hospital. Two years to see a cardiologist because some paediatric cardio specialist at Leeds said there was nothing worrying wrong with the first ECG without even looking at it (telephone conversation, I ask you, is that reliable) and it should be discounted in the grand scheme of things.

So that was my day

welcome back JJ, glad you had a good time. I just got in from Birmingham and that journey has made me feel tired so i dread to think how you must feel.

I'm half way through Hary Potter, i think my reading is getting slower.

The past few days have been brilliant, just chilling out, and the sun was out as well, finally. I am cleaning the club house tomorrow, so thats good as i will get some money in. I'm sorry to hear that Trinity - same here for me with my great uncle. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer nearly 2 yrs ago and decided at 85, he'd had a great innings, so he'd have no treatment as such, although they did remove half of his stomach.

They looked at him recently, and discovered he is absolutely riddled with it now and gave him a month. That was 2 weeks ago.

Thinking of you - you've not had a good time lately have you. x

So sorry to hear of the sad news about your mother-in-law Trin. Cancer is a terrible disease for anyone to have regardless of their age. It took both my parents within four months, and this year at work we lost two lecturing staff to it. one was a motor vehicle lecturer who was 51 and one was a language and tourism lecturers she was only 41,both of them hadn't been diagonsed with cancer a year.

Kim
04-08-2007, 00:42
Sorry to hear about this, Katy, Trinity, Ems and Kath.

I've lost a gran and a great aunt to it.

My great aunt first had cancer when I was 9, and died when I was 12 of bowel cancer, leukemia and skin cancer. She'd had a good life at 89, but my gran wasn't very old, and died knowing none of her 3 grandchildren.

I've had an ok day; just been sorting out my mess of a bedroom.

That sounds really bad Trinity. Sorry to hear this. Hope you and you husband particularly will be okay. :(

I think we all know what it's like to lose someone from cancer, well most of us. My cousin was 24 when she died from cancer :( was really sad. She went to the doctor about a month before she was diagnosed with a lump or something, and they sent her away with cream or something like that, and then someone else diagnosed her with cancer, which was untreatable. Was really sad to see her deteriorate. She had 2 young kids at the time. Still sad to think about it now :(.

Trinity
04-08-2007, 10:58
Thanks for everyones thoughts and support. I guess that everyone has a sad tale to tell re. cancer.

I will definitely be running in the race for life in Edinburgh next year.

The news from the hospital is not good re. my mother in law. She can no longer swallow her saliva even and has to spit it out. They have tried to put in a feeding tube twice - once under general anesthetic (which she reacted badly to) and once using radiological guidance - it isn't possible. In 4 weeks her gullet has closed up.

I feel for her so much, she is a clean living old lady who doesn't deserve this at all - but then noone does do they, it is just not fair.

Abigail
04-08-2007, 13:11
It must be awful for your mother in law not being able to swallow or eat. I hope she doesn't suffer too much.

My mum's cousin died in December from breast, liver and bone cancer. My aunty has terminal bone cancer. There is a long history of cancer in my mum's family but only breast, liver, lung and bone so there must be some genetic link or something.

It's so warm today, 25 degrees. I think I'm just going to laze in the garden, eat chocolate and read. Mum and dad have gone to York to get a fascinator (some type of hair piece I think) for a wedding next weekend so I have a list of jobs to do before they come back.

Its so hot! 30 degrees! Who needs to go on holiday when we have such fab weather here! we had a birthday bbq for my sister today, the hottest day of the year so far I think, glad it's over now though:p I can stay in the cooler sitting room :o

It's still absolutely mafting. 19C during tonight  The moths will be out in force. What gets rid of moths? Its way too hot to close the outside doors on a night and as we live in an area close to fields and lots of trees we get hundreds of moths and little midget fly things in the house after dark. Does citronella only work on flies?

Jelly B & Katie please feel free to visit Scotland if the weather is too hot for you. We had the big annual parade taking place in the centre of Edinburgh to mark the begining of the festival. There is street performares, pipebands, and loads of floats that march along the street. Normally around 50 thousand people attend and guess what YES it poured down with rain. what a surprise.

Well done on your grades Tannie, although I still find the grading a bit confusing. When I sat my exams we had to get an A, B or C to pass anything else was a fail, but I know now that its marked 1 to 5 and general and foundation.

Happy Birthday Layne doll. Hope you had a fabulous day.xxx

We're not getting Sky + :( I was thinking they didn't do the standard one anymore. I think I shall have to ask for multiroom to be installed for Christmas, or something. Still, it's better than what we've got though; this internet randomly decides to be slow and to not load certain pages.

Kim

Now we're not getting Sky at all :( BT wanted £130 to change our phone line back to them which Sky offered to refund, but my dad told them to forget it in a not very nice way.

Got a bit of coursework out of the way today, so that's good.

I wanted Sky mostly because Virgin Media's internet isn't that good. They also have a code on all the movie channels that cannot be disabled.

Went out with my Granny and Granddad yesterday to the cinema then we went to Betty's tea shop afterwards for tea. We had fish and chips with puree'd minted peas at the cost of £10 each. £10 for fish and chips... thats daylight robbery. Still, they can afford it...

Went into town today and got a couple of headbands.

My skin is really itchy and I've got painfull little blisters coming up on my hands, legs and feet.

I spent all day yesterday looking at houses in Germany.. was shocked that some people thought 120K (euro) was too expensive for 9 bed house with pub!!
Spotted a plot of land for 27k and a wooden house (4 bed with sauna) for 90K.. guess where I am going to live

Isle Of White rocks. I love it, but I haven't been since I was 10 as my dad thinks the boat uses up too much fuel going over there. DON'T come to Wiltshire, lol! I can't wait to get out of it.

Been out all day at my sister's house warming party. We left at 10pm and everybody was half cut. The guys were pulling the fences up to put in the outdoor chimney thing. It took three of them fifteen minutes to light it :rotfl: So it's been a really really good day and I'm knackered. I reckon my sister is going to have a houseful tonight, none of them are in a fit state to drive anywhere. That'll be funny seeing as there was about 20 people still there when we left and she's only got a double bed spare

Oh what a weekend I've had. It was my nephew's wedding yesterday and thanks to the good old Scottish summer it poured with rain all flaming day. Anyway the wedding was wonderful Marley was gorgeous as a flowergirl, the food and everything was excellent. Unfortunatley one of the bridesmaids my niece Cherie has been unwell for over a week she has been feeling sick and sluggish, yesterday after the wedding she went to lie down for a bit after the meal and she felt better later on and joined in the dancing at the disco. This morning at 7 o'clock she had really difficulty breathing saying that her lungs were hurting her. Her sister managed to get her to ease her breathing but she didn't want to wake anyone up so she went back to sleep. Once we all got up for breakfast and ready to leave the castle Cherie was still in her room, her brother phone and ambulance and she was taking to hospital the paramedics thought that she may just have a nasty viral infection that has not been treated. Anyway about a half an hour ago Cherie's brother phoned they are keeping her in for a least a week, they had to give her a blood transfusion as she only had 1/2 blood left in her body they have been doing test and are going to give her a CAT scan sometime tonight, so we are still in the dark to what is wrong with her.
