View Full Version : How Was Your Day? #3
Hmm... Birthday. Pretty average day, cleaned my car then spent most of the afternoon in bed because I was worn out. Cried on the phone to my sister a few hours ago because I'm sat at home on my 18th doing nothing. She's going to organize a booze up with my other sister, her bf, my uncle and his gf in a couple of week. It should be really fun, its always a laugh when my brother-in-laws get together. All of my friends are underage and would get ID'd without a doubt so they won't get into 'Spoons around my sister's area.
Anyway, I didn't do too bad. Got a car, a cd player for the car, money, underwear, scarf and gloves, jewelry, a mirror compact, toiletries and a Me To You 18th glass.
Fireworks display tomorrow night at the park. Our street is going to be chokka with cars because we live right next to the park. Looking forward to it, meeting up with some friends I haven't seen in ages so it should be good.
Glad you had a good day, I had an 3 hour Law exam on my 18th. Someone burnt therebreakfast this morning so i was woke up at 10 and had to stand outside in my pyjamas due to the fire alarm, it was a right pain. I amgoing into town in a bit to meet some peoplewho have come up from home. I am really excited.

Aw...pleased you are enjoying uni life, Katy! :)
Completely rubbish day. My "friend" has been telling my best mate that I have epilepsy when I don't, and spent the whole of their time in New York with their school talking behind my back and making up rubbish about me. Then this morning I get a text and my best mate has gone shopping with this girl. She'll go with anyone as long as she gets to go shopping, but I can't go with her because she lives about 6 miles from me.
My dad can't be bothered to take me to her house. The bus fares are ridiculous so I can't do anything apart from sit at home on my own.
And I have English, Geography and Business work to do, great. Hate whoever it was that decided you have to be 17 to drive - I'll have nothing left by the time I'm 17 at this rate. Even my friends at school are paying more attention to someone who ditched us then came crawling back than they are to me.

Good day, went out for lunch with my sister and got a nice top :) Also got a nice skirt from primark. That shop's mad!
On the way back I changed gears for my sisters. Got the hang of it after a while, can't wait to start driving :D Just have to send of my form..
The next door neighbours are setting off fireworks :wall:they're either doing it to annoy us or it's their son who has parties when their away. I hope they stop soon :thumbsdow
Ive had a okay day, I got my new glasses today so at leats I can see better now, and they are made by fcuk
Had a good night. Went to the park for the fireworks and bonfire. They went on for about 20 mins, excellent display. We went back to a friend's house and ordered pizza and played on the Xbox for a bit. Just got in now and I'm knackered.
Got loads of homework to do tomorrow. I need to start revising for January exams too :thumbsdow
Oh dont talk to be about the January exams, at least I only have 2, but they are really hard
I have four resits and three what I'm doing now. The A2 exams are 90mins each. Half of the physics paper is multiple choice so I stand a good chance on that. My business unit is the same as my resit but more in-depth.
I'll fail biology anyway so I'm not too worried about that.
Ive got a biology exam and a geography exam :(

I've had a busy day! I went to town with mates earlier and hoping to go to the firework display on Monday and to the sixth form social party on Tuesday, where i have to dress up as something beginning with a P or an S.
I went to the theatre tonight too to watch Hobson's Choice - i visited my brother's university where i met some of his friends, then watched the show which was very good indeed.
Today I have loads of school work to do! Arrrrrgggghhhh!!!

Oh I love Hobson's Choice, ie that he had no choice! lol There's a good B&W film version with John Mills in it.
I'm starting to get really stressed. My biology teacher has given me my coursework back with every single sheet full of corrections. My first draft he just wrote a few corrections out but now he's changed his mind and he wants me to write something totally different   He's also changed the shores around so I've got to go through and change exposed to sheltered and vice versa, reprint my tables and redo my graphs (he's also decided that they're wrong when he looked at the the third time).
So basically I have to redo my coursework for Thursday.  And to add more stress he also wants to me to do about two hours of homework plus research. There isn't a hope in hell of me doing all this work plus work for my other subjects.

Sharkey's really ill :(. He's not himself. We think he may be dying :(. He's swollen up loads (We thought he was just getting fat at first). He doesn't swim around at all, just stays in one place - he used to always swim around. We've had him for nearly 10 years, so even though he may be "just a goldfish", he's like one of the family lol :p.
His swim bladder may have gone. Its the thing that helps him swim and float. There's nothing you can do to treat it.

Might be :(. But I don't think he can't swim, he just choses not to. Cause when we change his water (just did it now lol), he swam around at the bottom - cause he was scared haha. Bless him :p

I've locked myself in my room all day I think I'll go crazy soon..! My chemistry teacher is a pain, he never gives us help, and it's not like I can ask any of my family for help  Luckily I have a 3 hour free tommorow (including lunch) so I'll meet up with a friend and figure it out with her I think....Neglecting my history homework because of this stupid chemistry coursework!

I am in agony all down my left side, decided to do handstands in the corridor last night and hit the deck as i nearly fell through someones door.
Went Pub Quiz last night and today had an exam which i really messed up.
Aww, I'm sure you've done better than you think you have, Katy.
I hope those antibiotics work for Sharkey, Lea.
I have tons of work too, which I've really lost patience with. I can't wait until next year so I can drop certain subjects. They've started talking about revising for mocks too, great.
Also not going to leave my house except with my parents or for school - a 13-year-old almost got snatched walking home from a school in town on Friday, and two eight-year-olds from a road not far from here, so the local radio station's recommending caution to all...

Went into Kingston today in my three hour free with a couple of friends. Had a lot of fun, and saw Keith Miller! (don't know his real name) from Eastenders! My friend who is mad on eastenders grabbed by arm, spun me round and practically dragged me after him to show me his face. I'm so unobsevant apparently he just walked past me
Went shopping got a nice top in a sale for £1!
On the way home there was a fight at the station! Stuff like that used to happen occasionaly at my old school but when it's on a platform someone could get pushed off the tracks! Suprised the police weren't called...
I was invited to go up to this hill and watch the fireworks over London with some old friends but I don't think I'll go...too lazy :p
Good day though. I laughed so much on the way home when my friend spilt barbaque sauce all over her white jeans
His real name is David Spinx incase you were wondering, lol! Nice spot with the top though; I can't get anything decent for £4 here.
Long day. Still haven't got round to doing my biology homework so I'm going to go do it in bed now. I really need to get more organised.

You could always get a moped Kim, get yourself on the road and on the way to getting a nice motorbike and then you wouldn't be constantly asked for lifts etc from people aswell :D

Yeah, you only have to be 16 for a moped license. Plus you don't have to have somebody ride round with you whilst you have L plates on like you do in a car.

Yup and I would far rather be riding my motorbike any day. Just don't get the chance any more (can't fit all the boys on the back of a m/bike lol)
Another pants day. My physics teacher has decided that I need extra lessons with him working on the maths side of things. After that I'll "fly through it." I suppose its a good thing, I'm fed up of being the one dragging behind and holding everybody up.
Three hour driving lesson tomorrow morning. At least I can do that. Still going to fail my test next week though.
Then in the afternoon I have to get my coursework sorted out and the two hours of homework done for Biology on Thursday afternoon.

Had a rather good few days. I've had some work back which I'm really pleased with. I got a B+ for my first drama essay, and also got 9/12 for the beginning of my Media coursework this year (The research stage).
Last night, i went to the fireworks at my school with some friends. It was a very good display and went on a few rides too which was fun. We then all decided to go to the park where I foolishly decided to go on the seasaw with one of my friends resulting in me injuring my foot!
Tonight, I'm dressing up as Superman for my sixthform social party which is held in a club in town. We have to dress up as something beginning with P or S so i thought being Superman was a good choice! :D The party goes on until 2am though and my parents won't let me stay that long, despite much persauding.

On the way home though, we went down a road I used to walk down on my way to school and there's a level crossing in the middle. There were loads of flowers stuck to the wire fencing and by the looks of it only a day or two old :( I don't even know who it was but I still feel sad. I went to my sixthform social party last night dressed as Superman and ended up getting drunk again. :o On the way home, i decided to have pee in the local park! :o Had a great time though and ended up dancing with the majority of people in the sixthform! ..even the people who i hardly ever talk too! They played good music though, and just had such a fun time.
I've been asked to give a speech at presentation evening in front of 400 people  and I agreed  Absolutely no idea why, I'm panicking about it already and its three weeks away. I wasn't even planning on going to it, they have a guest speaker every year who talks for about half an hour on some random stuff then the head gets up and talks for another half hour on GCSE and A level results and the building works going on on site
I've not done my physics homework yet and its in for tomorrow. I reckon that will be another 12am jobby when I'm in bed. There's no wonder I'm struggling when I spend so much time asleep that I neglect my homework.
Had a really random nights sleep last night. I was kinda awake at 3am dreaming about straightening my hair so I got out of bed and turned my straighteners on   My hair was still curly this morning so I don't think I actually did it. I woke up again at 6am trying to pull my retina out in a half asleep state.

Apparantely they don't do bandages no more??? God knows why, anyone?? Told him to have some ibuprofen and paraceatemol, which he was doing anyway. Gosh!!

It's a crap hospital! Not the main one in my county, but the closest one to us, thought they'd do something though!

I am on reading week for this next week and i have a ton of essays to do.
I'm helping my uncle's girlfriend with a car boot tomorrow morning so I've got to be up at 6am to leave at 7am. :ninja: Don't particularly want to do it, Sunday is usually my day of laze where I do naff all except sleep and go online. Still, I'm getting some Virgin Vie stuff out of it
I've got an appointment with one of my teachers on Monday morning to discuss things and see what he can do to help. I'm trying to think of answers to the questions I know he's going to ask me. He always seems to know when I'm not being totally honest about things or trying to hide something so I'm preparing myself.
Driving test on Friday afternoon :( I'm really worried, I don't think I'm ready for it. I had a three hour lesson on Wednesday on the test routes and I did really bad. My instructor said its just pre-test nerves and lots of people regress at this stage but do pass the test. When I think about it though I reckon I'm an ok driver, there are a few areas that do need work like reversing around corners (what's the point? I don't know anybody who does that   ), I sometimes have clutch problems and I don't brake enough but apart from that I'm pretty good.

I always seem to be the subject of EVERY joke that my friends do - i am on YouTube again..:o And just because I got slightly drunk on Tuesday night, my whole family and all my friends think i'm some kind of raging alcoholic!
Got homework to do tomorrow, so preparing myself for that - got quite a bit to do, but I always leave all my homework for Sunday.
i wish i didn't have to work, i really need some relax and recovery time rather than having new things thrown at me all the time, i have no idea how i will get through the 6 hours, the last few i've just wanted to cry and walk out and i feel really bad at the moment, so if that carries through then it will be hell.
i have so much work to do, so little time, it's like 25 weeks till my exams and my grades keep dropping, i'm predicted AAB and at the moment that will not be happening considering i am unable to complete work at all. major stress alert!
my guides are putting on a panto soon, so i've been helping with that, it's gonna be good, just they are having difficulties learning their lines, and we have full dress rehearsals soon
just had rememberence day service which was good, there was no disasters and i managed to stay in a a straight line. We did end up marching a bit to fast at the begining beacause the guy on the base drum reckoned he was doing a 100 m sprint i htink. It was good though. Now having a catch up on line before i do my assignment, and listen to the football. Going home on tuesday i 'm really excited.
Just got in from the car boot. It was unbelievably cold. Wasn't that bad actually, sold quite a bit. I also found out that the guy who I used to babysit for earlier this year has been charged with nine counts of possessing indecent images of children dating back to before his oldest was born. His wife left him but has gone back to him with their two kids aged 8 and 3  I don't know how she can do that. I don't think the court is going to be happy when they find out his children are living with him.

Had a great day! Went to my cousins party and it was just full of jokes, no need for the drink, well I don't need it haha.. Had sooo much fun and when I got back my parents were back from thier hols so it was great! They didn't get me anything but agreed they will give me a £100 instead, which is sooo much better in my opinion because I really hate spending birthday money (wierd I now, I'm trying to save up for my car ) So I will be spending the £100 on make up and accesories which I wanted to do with my birthday money lol!
Worrying thing is next week is GCSE mock's week, not looking forward to it, it's important to me because it gives me an idea or what I will get in May/July so you know.. I'm not taking it seriously though and haven't started revising! I think I will start to do so this week, put my head down for the next 3 weeks I guess.. Then I can give myself a break during December, roll on Christmas!! x
Don't stress too much about your mocks. A lot of my friends didn't revise because they wanted to see how much they knew and how much they needed to revise. I didn't do my mocks but I wouldn't have bothered revising anyway. Our teachers advised us not to do too much revision as well because it was a guide for them what areas needed working on.

Mocks are kinda important though, as what you get in your mocks are what get sent to colleges as your predicted grade of what you will actually get, so say if your maths teacher thinks you can get a B overall in may, but then in your mcok you get an F that is or aroun that is the grade that they will give to your college.
My mocks are in the last week of term so im glad they will be over by xmas
Remember though that you have only done just over half of the course and you will also have coursework on top of your exams which will bump the grade up.
Generally speaking, we were told to expect at least two grades higher in the actual exams than what we got in the mocks.

Not happy but I haven't been revising which may explain why and I still haven't 'pulled my socks up' so you know.. I was on the train and there was something going on, heard bits of conversation, people were saying someone put a fake body on the tracks..and then tannoy on the train said will the guard please contact the driver.
After a while the driver said no we're not going anywhere there's been a fatality on the tracks so you'll have to get off. And then sirens, rapid response paramedics. I saw the body from the distance. Some people were going UP the platform to get a closer look! Morbid curiosity I guess..I'm glad I didn't. His head was seperated from his body..:( Then the police came and started shutting the station. I walked half the way home and then got a train that was at a different place..

I saw the body from the distance. Some people were going UP the platform to get a closer look! Morbid curiosity I guess..I'm glad I didn't. His head was seperated from his body..:( Then the police came and started shutting the station. I walked half the way home and then got a train that was at a different place..
Sorry if it seems I'm explaining this whole thing to Soapboard people half my friends are in Wales that I could talk to and I'm just a bit shaken up that someone commited suicide while I was at the station...:( :(
Don't apologise for telling us, it must have been a huge shock to you and everybody on the train. The driver must be pretty shook up as well, having somebody jump out in front of his train.
I can understand people going to look at the body to see if it was actually true, although they probably wish they hadn't now after you mentioned the head.
Keep posting in here if you like or if there's nobody you can talk to, I'm sure one of us will reply.
Sorry, I'm a bit rubbish at these sorts of things, I just thought I'd reply to say I'm thinking of you and its ok to post it.

I'm really sorry to hear about what happened StarsofCCTV - it sounds extremely tragic and I can't imagine what you or anyone else who was there could have felt like. Luckily, I've never been in a situation like that before but don't ever be afraid to talk about anything you wish on here as we're all nice enough to listen. :)
I have a uni offer already! I only sent my form on Friday, and i got an offer from Kingston University today! :D

S**T. A man commited suicide at the station where I get my train. It was either my train or the train before than ran him over. Im sorry to hear about yesterday, shocking stuff indeed. Hope you can try and get it out of your mind, and think of nicer things. :) I cant imagine how I would feel if I saw something like that. No one should have to see that - I really do think its a selfish act, people chosing to commit suicide in that (very public) way.
Hope you had a better day today!

Yup. I like all the ones i've applied to :)
I still need to write my personal statement. I've started jotting things down that I need to include so its just a case of putting it all together in some order.
Is your offer conditional or unconditional Abi?
Driving test on Friday afternoon. I'm feeling ok about it, going out with my dad tomorrow morning after I finish school for a few hours then he's picking me up from school to go out for a lesson. I should have booked it for the morning because I'll have the morning to psych myself out and get myself in a tiz.

Been a pretty hectic day. I'm Assistant Editor of a Budding Journalists Group in school and we do a page in the local paper once every 3 weeks, and there was panic today as the page is far from ready and the editor was away somewhere so I had to take charge. Plus, I had to be in another meeting at the same time with my Assistant Headteacher and chairman of the school newsletter...so i had to cancel that meeting, to deal with the problem with the Budding Journalists Group. Got a few things sorted now though, did another article to go on the page, and just got to get some "shorts" to put on the page for tomorrow before the deadline, so hopefully I'll do it. :D
Just went up to see my school production too - it was brilliant, and will probably do a review on that for my schools page too.
Well done abi on the offer. I remember getting my first one it makes you feel so good.
I am so close to dropping out of uni, the course is so hard. I have been oersueded to stick out the first year and see if i pass. If i fail then i am just going to change course. I'm really struggling. I have been essay writing all day and i have had all my hair chopped off so that made me feel a bit better.
Meeting up with old friends tomorrow so thats good.

Got my provisional driving liscence card today, cheered me up a bit :) , just waiting for the instructor to ring back, might have a lesson next Wednesday
I might have a full driving licence tomorrow  I went out with my dad today in my car then we drove round for a bit. I can't do a box park in my car, its hasn't got power steering so I can't get the wheel round quick enough to end up in the box. I can reverse around a corner though :cheer: finally.
I'm a bit worried about going out on my own when I do pass my test. I think I'll do short runs like to school which is a five minute walk to build my confidence up then I'll start going further on my own.

Having a really good day, knowing it's the weekend tomorrow!..
I got an A in my science coursework.. I mean wtf.. 2 marks of an A* what's going on, Science is my worst subject! I got a C in it last year! Hey not complaining..:P
Going shopping tomorrow! x
I used to always get shocks like that, the essay you rush and coudnt care less about as you hate the subject you get the best grade in. Its like what!!! Well done on it anyway, its always nice to have some high marks in the bag before the exam.
I'm still piled under a load of work. I'm having a free weekend i think, i'm meeting my friend for lunch in the village and then watching sport i think. Oh and we need a visit to IKEA for a chair. the one i have a uni is hurting my bag and its kind of important as i am spending half my life at my desk.
Tomorrow back to Bangor, and then not home till Christmas, although that is the 15th December, so its not long in the scheme of things. Although all my essays are due then.
sorry bout the rant.
Heya, well its been a bit since I posted in here, But had a good fews days not that my cold is fading :) Just got a lot of coursework to do and yesterday for children and need I raised over £50, it was last minute but still proud and had to work last night so missed the show but oh well. Im really busy at the moment, cos I have college work and im working and then I have a dance exam coming up
Aww, I hope you manage to get it all sorted out, Katy. I hate the big pile of work, although I don't necessarily have to hand in my Media coursework as the teacher got us to do the piece again as that is the one that the most people were struggling on. My teacher said all of my coursework was done well, so I have to start nagging him to tell me what they actually are. He only told me about my Pop Music one.
Sorry to hear about what happened at the train station, StarsOfCCTV. I would have probably of fainted if it was me.
I have my mocks soon as well. I'm not really stressing, although I really should be as I'm predicted 7A's and 3B's. Typical me I'm not happy with that. I got my mock timetable which is the worst thing in history. Most people have three days during the course of the two weeks of mocks on which they have no exams, and mine just had to be all in a row at the beginning. First exam is also Maths, which I don't think I have a hope of passing, regardless of being predicted a B by a teacher that hates me and getting a 7 in my SAT. I haven't even handed in my coursework because I can't do it and don't feel that I can ask for help. Last one is business, which I would really rather have first as I love it and should get an A*, which I will probably stress about nearer the time of the real exam. Also have to do a mock for a DME for Geography, and doing some work on the resource booklet has made me hate Geography even more than I already did. The real thing is also on airports and I haven't even been to one. It goes on until after school so I will have another transport problem on that day.
I also have my option evening for A Level on Tuesday, which I am looking forward to, and although I have ideas of what I'd like to take, I keep changing them about every three days.
I was supposed to be going shopping with my friend today but it was looking doubtful due to my dad's reluctance to pick up my friend. We didn't go though as her grandad passed away last Friday, and I haven't heard from her since lunchtime last Saturday when she told me. I really don't know what to do for the best, and I'm starting to worry about her.
My gran went back into hospital last week after having been out of it for 16 days. We found out that the radiotheraphy has shrunk the tumour though, so she should be having more of that as she's only had one lot. They're also looking into other forms of treatement.
About the hospital Lea - maybe they took the outpatients bit out like they did here, as on Boxing Day my aunt had to drive my great aunt to a hospital further away as they wouldn't do anything at the one just in the town.
Sorry for the essay, lol. It's obvious I haven't been on here in a while. I really should be getting back to revision, as well...

Thanks Katy! That was just my one piece of coursework but I'm happy.. Hopefully I will get a B in science instead of a C again!.. Who knows maybe an A!
Oh btw sorry about what you heard and for what happened StarsofCCTV.. Must have been quite a shock :( How are you feeling now? x
Today I went shopping.. Bought some Clinique make-up, new gloves, two tops (one for the practise interview thing) and a new lovely bag for school!
God it's mad in there! (the mall).. I got a bit annoyed at times as you could barely move.. it's only mid-Nov!! I dread going there back again in December to have my hair cut but hey should be worth it  Plenty of Christmas sales going on already!! Overall had a pretty good day ;] x
Oh and Kim.. I have my mocks next week and the week after that.. Study leave but only go in for mocks.. I can't believe you are predicted 7A's and 3B's! That's amazing! I'm predicted 2A's 2B's and 6C's.. :crying: To be honest I was expecting so much than that so I will step up my gear when I go back to school. I will start revising tomorrow, if I'm not doing anything and Monday and Tuesday I have the day off as it's only for Spanish and French learners so definatly be revising then!..
Kim just hand in your coursework and see, make sure you have a copy and see what your teacher says even though you don't get along.. Stupid idiot but still.. it counts towards your grade! x
I think I have an idea on what I want to take for my A Level's.. Hoping to go to my school's sixth form because apparently it's really good out of the whole bourough so you know, might as well .. I think the option evening is around Jan/Feb so long time to go!
Myform tutor pinned up a list of sixth forms and college deadline dates. She casually said some of the dates have passed and not to complain to her about it because she only got the list. Fine okay.. But when we asked if she could print us all a copy each she said that would be wasting paper. Sorry but wtf, I went mental.. They just handed out Christmas draw raffle things on TWO pieces of paper! Pointless and most kids just throw it in the bin, this is like our life?!
Hope you gran gets better Kim xx

Thanks :) (to everyone else too), I'm ok now, just a bit freaked out at the time..I'm glad I didn't walk up the platform like I usually do when I finish at 5..
I read in the paper today it was a 69-year old who was reported missing earlier in the day. Poor guy :(
I got my provisional driving liscence on Thursday, and I've got a lesson for tommorow so I've been looking forward to that :) My best friend invited some people over hers tonight and we all just messed around on facebook, watched TV and ate bad food, had a nice evening :) Didn't do much in the day, I have to start on my chemistry coursework in the morning!
I am back at Uni and feeling a whole lot bettter, still got heaps to do workwise but everyone is in the same boat. I think as i was at home last week i was enjoying the home comforts to much and i got a bit down. I was so up for staying at home and dropping out completly.
Anyway i can't sleep so i have come on here, should probably try and get to bed soon as i have a 9 AM lecture that i should really be a wake for.
My business teacher gave a presentation to Year 10 on Northern Ireland this afternoon. He was doing a favour for another teacher because he served there during the Troubles but he had us as well.
I was almost crying when he told them about how he saw his friend get blown to pieces and another one lose his hand from a roadside bomb on New Year's Eve in 1988. The lad who lost a hand had multiple cuts and he died within fifteen minutes of the bomb going off. His wife arrived a few minutes after midnight, only five minutes after he died. She lifted the blanket and said "I came to wish you happy new year" then left.
I've started some revision. My mum isn't too happy with the 40-odd pieces of paper with physics formulae on that are on my walls. I haven't told her that there is lots more still to go up  All she seems to be bothered about is the blu-tack pulling the paint off the walls or leaving marks and damaging the wardrobe with sellotape  Good job it's parent's evening next Wednesday, I can pass the blame on to my teacher :rotfl:
I'm really getting into this revision lark, I lay in bed on a night and I get really happy when I look at my 40 pages of formulae on the walls. Then I read my biology text book and I get even happier :D The best thing is, I've only had the sheets up a few days and I'm already memorizing things. I walk around the house reciting formulae in my head :rotfl:
Seeing the cardiologist on Wednesday. Maybe after two years they might decide if I actually have something wrong with my heart. Personally, I'm not bothered either way. I've survived 18 years without dropping dead and there's no treatment for WPW so why worry about it? It'll just be another diagnosis to add to my list and another thing that stops me from doing things :thumbsdow

 I should have done an A2 past paper for this afternoon in my spare two hours but I couldn't be bothered. I'll just tell my teacher I've been revising in other ways, which I have.
I broke a William's bottle in biology this morning. We were making Agar jelly to grow cultures and we had to sterilise the top of it in a bunsen. I left mine in the heat for too long, the neck of the bottle melted and fell off and my Agar solution went all over the desk.

Aw bless ya. Very bust of luck with your exams I'm sure you'll be fine. All you can do is your best
A cough doesn't hamper your chances unless of course your doing a singing exam lol
For a cough my family have always used Apple Cider Vinegar. It's an old trend in our family and is highly successful. Give it a try trust me i almost guarantee it will be practically gone by tomorrow
I've had one of the best physics lessons ever. I'm so hyper. We were doing individual research on nuclear reactors to present it to the class halfway through the lesson. Because there are only three students and we weren't doing any structured work as such it was basically a free for all. We were working on my teacher's laptop so he couldn't do any work so he just sat talking with us about politics, religion, why some teachers shouldn't be teachers and how to handle kids misbehaving and comedy and loads of other random things.
I get on really well with my teacher so we have a good laugh and he winds me up. He's started calling me "thing" recently.
I did do some work, it's an interesting topic, I'm definatly going to do some more research on it. I've got to prepare some handouts for next lesson for the others.
Gosh, I waffle on a bit.

Fantastic news Abi. And glad you had a good day JB. :)
I've had a rather good day..I got my essay back from Drama and got a B, which I was really pleased with as some people's essays got ungraded - she said my essay was one of the best in the class which I was over the moon about. :D
Also went to a meeting where we finally sorted out the newsletter/Budding Journalists conflict - we've all decided that it would be better if both the newsletter and Journalists worked as a partnership, as things would become a lot easier for all of us. :)
Well done Abi, you must be really pleased :)
Ahhhh I have so much work to do tonight, but I keep getting distracted :(
I've just found a montage video on youtube of my friend who died last Christmas and it really upset me. I still can't believe he's gone, it doesn't seem real. He's been dead eleven months now and I still can't accept that he's not here anymore.
Well done on the offer Abi. Sorry to hear about your friend JB one of my friends died to years ago in february and i still find it difficult to accept its gone. I think its something you won't get over for a long time.
I am in the library working on my assignment before i have to go to my economics lecture.
Right, Geography coursework down, Maths to go. Argh! He's making us do it in the lessons now as well, and having us go back over our Statistics coursework and mine is thick enough already! lol
I'm also the only person in my Business class to have finished the coursework, so I get Friday's lesson to revise, which will help. Wasn't too impressed today when a boy Business asked me in Geography to explain what mergers were, only for him to scarper at break time, at which time I had said I would explain.
A Level options evening yesterday, because we have to make provisional choices and apply by January 11th in order for them to be able to accomodate as many students' preferences as possible in September. It wasn't that good, because we could only go to four subjects. I went to look at Economics and she did Business in the same one, so then I had another session to pick and English wasn't in that particular time slot. I don't think I will do Maths for AS now, so I'll ask my teacher about English tomorrow. Definitely going to do Business, Economics and Psychology, so it's just deciding on a last subject.
My school now seems to have decided that the most effective way to prevent bullying is to make us all sit in assembly and listen to an article on the effects of bullying.
Now for revision...

My best friend is having an operation on her knee tomorow, she'd been having problems with it for a while, the packing in Wales did it in :p
They think she's torn some cartalidge but they're not sure because it's on the left side of her knee which is unusual.
I'm worried but I'm sure she'll be ok :) Talked with her on the phone for half an hour, I've had one operation before I know what it's like so I was just telling her what it was like, I think I made her feel a bit better. At least I hope so :p I'm going round on Saturday, I think I'll buy something tommorow in the shops for her to cheer her up (she'll be on crutches for 6 weeks and have weekly physiotherapy for 3 months!)
I Went out of biology today and there were 6 ambulances outside! Apparently there was an explosion in the chemistry lab and some people were taken off to be treated for carbon monoxide poisoning and minor cuts and bruises. Don't think it was major explosion though because there was apparently 3 fire engines which had left by the time we got there. I'm going to go to Chemistry tommorow..but I have a suspicion it might be cancelled :p

Hope all goes well with your mate!
We had a Chemistry lab explosion once. It was my forms fault as well, we put wooden splints in the gas taps and lit them. It was ace.
Just watching Hollyoaks now, i'm bored and can't sleep.

We used to mess around with the gas taps putting a match to the taps then switching them on when the teacher wasn't looking.
My class was full of pyromaniacs, whenever we had a supply the lighters and aerosols would come out. Someone even made a massive paper hat out of sugar paper in maths once then set fire to the top of it. Funny at the time but not when we got interrogated by the head of department.
I'm still up doing biology coursework. Deadline is tomorrow and I've been at it all night. I think another hour should do it :thumbsdow I've got to go in early tomorrow to print it off an modify some tables.

:rotfl: The most my class got up to in Maths was spraying deodorant on the teacher..(who did smell..a bit).
Heard it was the teachers fault...our physics teacher said it was a chemical reaction, too much pressure. glass exploded. According to my physics teacher when you're 16 and over if you don't put lab goggles when your told it's not the teachers fault..I bet the person who got glass in their eye (ouch!) is regretting their decision!
Bumped into my friends sister on the way home, she said she was back home so I guess it went ok :)
Also on the way home I think my train ran over a piece of wood or something.. I was texting, so not holding on to anything, and there was a bump and the driver really put on the brakes (lets just say I'm glad I was near the glass partition otherwise I would've gone flying ) A while later the train started moving again. Really really slowly. I guess it'll have to go until the end of the line. I'm glad I finished early. The trains are going to be really slow behind that one :p
Me and my Dad are going shopping in a bit. This may be interesting  Although I have no idea when I'm going to do my Biology coursework! My Physics teacher once said he thought you should do an hour per mark. It's worth 21 marks :( I'm going to see a friend's show tommorow evening, Saturday morning I've got a driving lesson, Saturday evening I'm going to my friend's, Sunday afternoon I'm going to a friend's party.
This doesn't leave much time for work :p Friday and Saturday are going to be very late nights I predict
Today wasn't to bad for me.
School majorly sucks for me at the moment. I've failed all three nabs that i've been given. If i fail the reading one in english then I'll put down a grade and i don't want to be put down a grade:(
My anger went today; People calling me by my middle name and calling me ugly and all this crap althrough i do try my hardest to ignore i can't seem to and my anger gets the better of me.
So thats my day hasn't been to bad! Apart from losing my anger.
You don't seem to have much luck with trains do you :rotfl:
Pretty average day. I had to go see the ICT technician to print off my biology coursework. I use the new Microsoft office and the school haven't updated the network to it yet, there is only the head of department and a technician's laptop that have the new software.
My coursework is pretty rubbish, I was up until 2am this morning trying to get it finished. My conclusion consists of one sentence :wall: I couldn't think of anything to write that I hadn't already said and I was knackered so I gave up and went to bed.

Aww Lea, have fun, when we went with the school (i think it was year 9) it was great, we never went to any of the seminar things (it was for food tech, I dont do food though lol) as our teacher missed them all so we just went in the park everyday it was great, and running up and down the corrdors lol. Are you staying in a disney hotel? and if so what one? Going with the school has been one of my best ever trips to disney

Apparently it was snowing here this morning. I must still have been asleep cos I didn't see any snow.
Pretty good day for me; I have an offer to go in a limo with my friends and some other girls, so I just have to ring one of the girls up tomorrow to sort that out ready for her mum to book it on Monday.
Well done on the drama, Dave. Quite some drama in Chemistry then Katie; we got to use some A Level kit the other day, I guess because the school wasn't happy with the amount of people that went to the Science presentations on Options Evening. My class were irresponsible enough with that.
We've had some quite dramatic times in Maths lessons too in the past; pretty much anything from locking the teacher out of the classroom to having someone walk across the tables taking his shirt off!
Aww, I'm sure you've done better than you think in the resits, Sammie. We can't resit until March and I wanted to resit the first module I took as I'm like 5 marks off of A* for the whole GCSE, but they won't let me and now I'm glad I'm well out of it with the real exams being so close to the resits.
I've only just managed to pick 4 subjects for A Level, so I really hope I get them as I really don't want to take anything else. How about Maths or Sociology or Health and Sociology, if your school offers them? I'm opting for Psychology, too.

My friend came on msn for about 10 seconds and said she felt much better. Then she had to go. I suspect her sister was tearing up something important again
Last night I went to a restaurant with my Dad (my mum's away and my sisters at Uni) and there was one of the girls waiting tables from W4 from Xfactor finals! (Hope got chosen over them :thumbsdow ) She said I can come to one of their gigs when they start
Tonight I went to see my friends play, his mum and brother were in it. His family's crazy, I'd love to have his family! Good play, slightly confusing though :p
Forget what I said about carbon monoxide, I have no idea where that floated from :p My chemistry teacher spent half the lesson (no experiments this week ) It was acid, and no-one was wearing goggles. One person is still in a specialist eye hospital and they don't know how damaged his eye is :S The rest of the class (all except 7) had some acid burns.
The hospital heard the words chemical and explosion and closed the whole of A&E for about 10 people! And set up a decontamination tent
My teacher also said that now the health and safety comes first and learning will probably come second! :S
I don't have to panick about Biology. I remembered that she's taking it in and telling us what we've done wrong...so I'll just do as much as I can and say I don't understand the rest :o
Whoops long random post :p

Aww, its a shame you werent allowed to resit your exams to try and get an a*, Leanne was allowed to do that as she wants to try and get an a*, and i dont think I will have done better lol, as one of the exams was pritty much all about bioleaching, I never even knew what it was :searchme:
and my school dont have a 6th form so im going to our schools partner one, and I was thinking about Health & Social Care but im not sure, and Im not that great at maths GCSE, I'm predicted a B but im gonna struggle to get that so I dont think I would be able to cope with a level standard lol, i'm think about doing an english, either snglish lan, enlglish lit, or joint english lit & lang but I have no idea lol
I'm doing English Lit (or at least that's the plan at the moment, but I keep alternating between the Englishes every 2 days.) Definitely want to do an English up to AS though. We were given a quiz thing today which asks some questions to which we can answer yes or no, and it recommends which one out of the three you should do. I could post the questions if you want and then do the scoring for you.
I'm predicted a B in GCSE Maths, and I was going to do Maths up to AS, but I have decided against it because I'm really not learning anything in it at the moment. I'm worried I'll fail it at the momemt. My teacher's way of teaching really isn't suiting me and I don't want to take it and then struggle for another year.
I've never heard of Bioleaching, either. I think they like putting things in the exam papers that we haven't been taught. A lot of one of my Physics modules was, so I have no idea how I got 2A*'s in Physics in June. You might have done a lot better than you think.
Have you had an options evening yet?
Good plan for the coursework, Katie. I've been no stranger to "It's over the word limit so I'm working on shortening it," before now.

When you're applying for university, English Literature would look much better. Especially if you want to do something analytical or theoretical at uni, like History, Philiosopy, English etc. Or even Social Work, Teaching etc. Plus it would balance well with PE, in the uni's eyes :)
My mum's spoken to the mother of the girl who's arranging the limo, and I'm definitely in :) My dad said he'll pay for my share of it because he doesn't want to drive me to the prom as the venue is quite a way away. Result! lol
It's my dad's birthday today, so we've been out for a meal. My chips were cold :( My dad said everything apart from his steak was cold and my mum wasn't impressed with the rice in her curry. Definitely don't want to be taking my friends there on my 16th, because they're quite big on curries.
There was another group in there for someone's birthday, and they started singing "Happy Birthday dear Jeffery," so I decided to shout at the top of my voice, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAD!" I don't think anyone was very impressed with me

1. Do you like to find out the original meanings of words?
2. Did you really enjoy the Shakespeare you studied for GCSE?
3. Are you interested in finding out how English has changed since the 5th Century and is changing now?
4. When you read a good poem, does it make your "toenails twinkle?" (Dylan Thomas.)
5. Do you want to know why we use slang and 'bad' language?
6. Have you read at least one book for pleasure this year?
7. Have you wondered why there are so many rude names for women?
8. Do you like discussing how an author makes characters work in a novel?
9. Would you like to find out who interrupts more: men or women?
10. Would you like to find out more about hyperbole, irony and synecdoche?
11. Do you think it matters whether we call someone 'disabled' or 'differently abled'?
12. When you watch tv, do you prefer drama or documentaries and factual programmes?
13. Are you, or would you like to be good at identifying nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs?
14. Do you enjoy discussing films with your friends?
15. Would you like to find out why children say things like, "Those mouses standed up, mummy!"
16. Have you seen and enjoyed more than or fewer than two of these films: Shakespeare in Love, Clueless and Baz Luhrman's 'Romeo and Juliet'?
17. Would you like to know how your body language could signal that you are ready to dump your girlfriend/boyfriend?
18. Do you like creative writing?
19. Do you like analysing fictional texts and their effect on the reader?
20. Do you like analysing language and seeing how it works?
21. Do you like finding out about the historical context of the fiction that you read?
22. Do you like to read and interpret fiction independently?
23. When you go into W H Smith's, do you go straight to the newspapers or browse among the novels?
24. Would you be interested in learning about how the structure of poems relates to their meaning?
So basically, answer yes or no to each question unless it gives you options, and I'll do the scoring for you :)

Thats ok. When i was choosing my A Levels, no one told me what unis would prefer. Looking back, i wouldn't have chosen 1 of my subjects if they had. I do English Literature, and its really good actually. You have to be good at looking at things closely, and making your own interpretations as to what it could mean. And you want to get your balance of subjects right. PE, psyc and English Literature is quite balanced. I dont think it would be very balanced if you did Lang.

Can I do the questionnaire too hahaha I'd just like to see what I am :p.
The head and deputy head of Sixth Form didn't mention good combinations at the open evening I had this week, either. I think it depends on whether you feel you can talk to the teacher, because I felt I could ask one of mine if Applied Business and Economics was a bad idea, and she told me that the reason they don't do Business as an academic subject is because universities won't like the two of them together if it was an academic subject.
My prospectus says that at A2 for Lit, you have to work individually on two books of your choice, so the independence would surely be a good thing. And Lit would show you can communicate your ideas.
Yeah sure, Lea :)

Maths is hard. I was predicted an A/A* for GCSE. I got a B but that was because I had a lot of problems in Yr11. Some of my friends that have taken maths say it is harder than they expected and they don't really understand it and most of them got an A. I did four weeks of it and gave it up. I had no idea what the teacher was talking about.
We were told you need a B to be accepted on the course but other places may have different criteria.
I'd also advise against biology. It is so hard and a third of the course is on biochemistry so if you aren't any good at chem don't do biology.
If I could go back and choose my subjects again I'd do ICT, Business (already doing it) and possibly Lit. I definitely wouldn't take any science subject.

Had my niece since Friday. Its been a great weekend, she's so funny at the moment. She came with a really wierd accent (mum is yorkshire, dad is geordie) so we've all been laughing at the way she says some words.

Been an alright day, though we got a lecture. Apparently us Year 12s look "bored" in lessons and we are demoralising the teachers! I don't know what they expect us to do, I hope I don't look bored - but if I do, it's just my natural look and I can't help that. I'm getting my school report soon and I have a feeling that they will say how I lack contribution in lessons, but I really can't help it as i'm just quiet - will try and improve in that area though.
Also, kinda peed my friend off - I promised to go to his gig on Wednesday night but my parents aren't letting me now as I have to catch the train there and back, and it's a really rough place that I'm going too - it was only a few months ago that someone got shot dead in that particular area, so I wasn't keen on going either.
I was told ilooked confised by one of my lecturers this morning. Thats never a good sign.
I used to always get that in reports Dave about being quiet. And then i got mouthy and i bet they wished they never said anything. Corridor going out now, but i need an early night. Had Footy and a full day of lectures.

me to. Everyones ill here there wre only five of us in this afternoon. It was well quiet. My corridor all seem to have picked it up to. Currently i am a germ free zone and they are not allowed.
I think I have the lurgy. Or maybe a throat or chest infection. I feel rough. And to put the icing on the cake we were examing bacteria in Biology this morning on open agar plates. Wahey, more bacteria for me.

I don't think it will be too bad, I have to say a vote of thanks which I'll have written down. I think I need to laugh otherwise I'll cry. It's a problem with the hard drive of the computer £120. All my memory has to be wiped. (Extra £150 for not likely document recovery) My pictures, all programmes (like itunes) all my work. Seems silly but what bothers me the most is that I've lost all the pictures from the last 2 years :( (Can't really take more pictures of a dead cat :( )
I'm just glad I wasn't in the middle of a piece of coursework.
I'm going to get a portable hardrive so in the future everthing is safe. I didn't back things up before because I had to much.
On the other hand my driving lesson went well, and I now have an excuse not to do my philosophy essay. yey...

Good luck with your speech Jelly Belly - sure you will do brilliantly! :)
Sorry to hear about your hard drive Stars - luckily it's never happened to me, but I hope it gets all sorted soon. I have to go to a GCSE award thing soon too, in a couple of weeks, I think.
Tomorrow, I have to do a seminar for English and I've decided to dress up as the author and put on an American accent, to answer my "intentions of the play" from the research I've conducted - so looking forward to that. :D
My Drama teacher annoyed me today, she told me I was hopeless at the task I was doing, and when I contributed to the lesson, she basically told me to shut up because what I said was wrong.

He's decided to side with my her in my her bid to stop me from going to uni next year. He doesn't think I'm ready and I need more time and I should go to college and do an access course instead of worrying about my A levels  I am so annoyed he has said that and not mentioned anything about it to me when he spoke to me afterwards. We get on really well and he's always straight with me, even when I don't want to hear it, but he's never not told me anything that he's said to my mum before. We're going to have serious words when I next see him. I can't believe what he's said. My mum told me to grow up and stop being childish when I started crying.
I know ^^ sounds childish but it goes so much deeper than what I've just said.

I can empathise with you, a similar thing happened to me too. But sometimes you can look back on things and there was a good reason why you were denied what you wanted to do and you were glad that you did not do/go/ what or wherever you had planned. Takes a bit of time though, I am afraid. Hope you feel better soon, hun.:)
Its up to you to decide when you should go to uni or not theres a girl here who was only 18 last week she came to uni at 17. Plus to do an acces course you cannot enrol on one till you are over 19, and the only take in September and January i think so you would be sat doin nothing. Its not childish at all and in fact it think your teacher is in the wrong, it is a matter he should have taken up woth you. I had a similar incedednt with my law teacher last year and sha told my dad i was too stupid for law, and i shouldnt bother applying. I proved her wrong.
What course do you want to apply for at uni, and where is it you want to go, you have probably told me beofore but i have fogotton.
Heya just wanted to say I probably wont be on for a few days my our internet is broke, and I kinda get on and then it goes off after a minute and takes hours to work again just for a minute
At least I wont get distracted form college work :p
I'm pretty busy, as always! i had an open day/interview at birmingham yesterday which was fairly good, although im thinking it wasn't really useful because i'd alrwady been to the open day. It's not that a big problem, i got out of manchester though :D Birmingham New Street will from now on strike fear through the heart, it's impossible at rush hour, we got a platform alteration from one end of the station to another  and i was already panicking about not getting back in time for guides! luckily we got the train but we had to stand a lot and everyone was drunk so it was like a party on the train! today wasn't so good, i had a panic attack in geography and i don't know why, so i fainted and now my chest is really painful! and my dad keeps making me do work but i just wanna relax, because i think all the work is stressing me out!

I want to do policing and criminal investigation. What really gets me is that he told my mum all this then when he spoke to me on the phone he said I'm predicted a D/E but had I been well enough to attend more last year then I would be predicted a B/C or even higher. Plus, he's the one thats been going on at me since last year to go to uni, he managed to change my mind when I was about to drop out altogether.
I really do think that my mum wants me to stay at home for the rest of my life and do naff all. She doesn't think that I can look after myself, some days I can't but most of the time I'm ok. This morning it took me 45mins to sit up in bed and whilst I see her point slightly I do have a life to live. I could be in the same situation in five or ten years. There's no way I'm going to put my life on hold for that long because I have an illness that sometimes stops me doing things.

Yesterday when I went out I did what i went out to do then got my nails done, never had my nails done before but the prices seemed like a bargain so I went and tried it out, love it, think I will get it done for Christmas again :p..
Last of the exams today, English and Drama think they went well!..
Tomorrow we have this pointless practise interview.. I have mine at 9! Was so hoping for that lie in but no chance, oh well 30 minutes in school and then I can do whatever I want, free day woohoo.. Might go out with my mate then go and do some coursework though I reckon..
Speech was excellent, I got a real buzz out of it even though it was only 15secs long. The guest speaker and head said afterwards that I did good, got everything in the right order, didn't fluff my lines and spoke confidently. I found it easier to speak in front of several hundred people than in front of 30 friends for an English speaking assessment.
well done on the speech glad it went well. I am starting to panic now there is no eway these assignments are going to be in on time.

I have had the best week ever :D. As you all know when to Disney, and it was awesome! Didn't sleep too much, was very expensive though. We wanted to go to the bar, but the drinks were way overpriced so only had like 3 each night. Went on loads of rides at Disney :D Fave was the Aerosmith one. Saw the parades which were awesome, and Pluto recognised me from having my pic taken with him ;). Woo. Had pics taken with Pluto and Goofy. Went into Paris went in a really expensive shop haha. But up the top was an awesome view! Went up the Eiffel Tower, was fun. Ran all the way back down, and got lost as we came out a different leg! Got locked out of our room, and it was the night the security was patrolling they were really mean haha and wanted us to go down in our pjs in the FREEZING cold with our tutor to "sign for a new key", but our tutor started having a go at them ha. So we never did. And one night these people from another college started on our college but I missed that as I was out, apparantly it was really funny, and our tutors were going mad at them. I miss all the good stuff haha.
But yeah anyway, that's enough of me rambling on :D. Going again next year though :D.

Glad you had a good time Lea and glad your speech went well JB. :)
I went out last night to watch a play called The Seagull and I wish I had got 3 hours of my life back :( .. today I went to some lectures for English at a university and they proved to be helpful, even if they were a little boring. I got soaked on my paper round earlier, but luckily I'm now nice and dry. :D
Tomorrow, I have to get up at 6:30am for a pointless passport interview that I have to attend. My mum booked the earliest appointment possible, whilst my dad wants to get there as early as we can which = me getting up really really early and I really don't want too! I'm only going as it's a new thing now where they ask you questions about yourself and check that your the person in the passport photo.
