Thank you all for you kind wishes and thoughts. Here is an update on Cherie's condition. They had to give her a blood transfusion and did some chest x-rays and they found out that her lungs were all white with dark spots so they think that is were all the blood is blocked, they then gave her a CAT scan but we still don't have any confirmed diagnose on what is wrong with her. She is feeling a bit better today they have given her some strong antibiotics and steroids, tomorrow they are going to take a biopsy from her lung and kidney. She is still on the oxygen mask and in the high dependisy unit but her brother has taken in his laptop and a load of DVD so she can watch in bed. Apart from that the boring news is that I had to go back to work today BAH!!! and the schools go back on Wednesday HURRAY!!! But guess what YES!! it's still flaming pouring with rain.

Once again thanks to everyone who has offered kind words of comfort to me over the last few days, when I have been worried about my niece. I had my nephew Cherie's brother on the phone earlier, and the hospital have now found out what is wrong with her. She has a rare condition called Good Pasture's Syndrom. Everyone has it in their body apparently but it can be triggered off any time. basically some of the body immune system attacks the lungs and kidneys. She is still very poorly but at least now the doctors can begin to cure her. She could be ill for about two years and she may require kidney dialasis. She has a long recovery road ahead of her but now we know what we are up against.

Feeling slightly hungover but oh well, we had a good celebration and Grandad would have really enjoyed himself if he were there. Really glads its over now.

Heya!!!!
Oh my god I havent been on here in ages, Ive been away so much, and on thursday morning I just got back from my 2 week hoilday in Rhodes. It was great there and very very hot and I have quite a good tan so Im very pleased and now Im back my roon is in a tip and I really need to unpack properly, but I met up with some mates yesterday we are really nervous about results everytime I think about them I feel sick. Me and my mates are planning to do something before and after, I feel better with them rather than my parents at this time, I mean I know they care and stuff but i just dont feel comfortable talking to them about that stuff.
Anyway Im gald to be back in a way I have so much catching up to do, on here and with mates and stuff. I just want to spend this week relaxing lol

Once again it has been pouring with rain all flaming day in sunny Edinburgh and another weekend ruined. There was a fun-day where we live today but I didn't go. There has been some improvenment with my niece. She is still quiet poorly but she has gone from recieving 100% oxygen down to 60% so that's a good sign. She is still on dialsys as they are having to give her fresh blood everyday. They are doing this for 6 days. We still don't know the long-term effects that this condition will have on her. The hospital want to test her sister and brother for the gene to see if they have it and she may not be able to have kids.

Well today i headed into Edinburgh with my grandma. As Kath said it was pretty crap weather! But we had to go in to get me a birthday present althrough my birthday isn't for another two weeks on monday but next week she's up in Dunblane and The Following saturday - 1st September she's in Spain so yeah:D

The only down side was i found out that she won't be present for my birthday as she will be in spain so that kinda sucks:(

That's a shame Tan, with it being your 16th and everything.

Had an okay day. Was supposed to be getting school shoes and was planning to take a detour into New Look, but my dad had a 1000 cc Yamaha motorbike delivered when he told my mum and me that he was having a 250 cc Aprillia. Went to do some work only to find that somehow another bit has gone missing. I must have left it on my account at school without knowing it, so I'll have to do it again. Had my hair dyed, but it's a bit darker than I wanted it to be.

There is a god. At last my niece is showing signs of improvement. she had a couple of bad nights at the begining of the week where she was having difficulty breathing when she was trying to sleep so they had to put her back on the breathing machine, but yesterday they took her off it she still has the oxygen but they reduced it today to 40% and she wasn't showing any signs of struggling for breath. On the downside there is still a leakage in her lungs and it is not cirulating around her body as it should be. They are having to give her fresh blood everyday and also plasma but it is making her legs swell. She is still on the kidney dialasys maching but because they are unable to use the veins in her arms they were insterting the tube in the groin, but that has become infected so tomorrow they are going to have to use the main artery in her neck. Poor huney she has really been through the mill. I haven't been able to visit yet as she is still critical and it's only her mum, sister and brother that is allowed in. She was starting to feel a bit better today so fingers cross the drugs are starting to work.

Having to take the day off work tomorrow as there is industrial action been called by council staff because the council want to close a number of school, nurseries and community centres over the city. The janitors, learning assistants and catering staff are all on strike so the school has to close.

Hair dye is coming out and now it looks like I have brown highlights when it's supposed to last for 6 weeks. Did that piece of work again, only to find that the cable for the printer. I can't go back to school without a new one because they said they weren't even taking it in on usb stick because we've had over the summer to do it.

Also finished English coursework, but still have a few little bits of work to do.

I've had a great time in Ireland, we went to Cork and just picked places out on a map and visited them. Its a beautliful place a shame we had to come home. I feel all refreshed and nice after being in the fresh air alot, the weather was amazingly good as well. It was also my dads 50th so we went and celebrated that as well. We visited really great places its amazing that where we were staying was about a five minute bus ride into the city yet if you drove for another 20 in the other direction you were in the deepest countryside. It was amazing.

Anyway now back home got to sort out stuff for uni so dad is taking me shopping tomorrow, we are going to the lowry centre, i like it there as its got a few shops under one roof, its not to big, shopping isnt my number 1 choice of what id like to be doing.

I've had a rotten day. I was called for Jury service today. I tried calling the information line all weekend to see if I was required but it was out of service, so I had to appear at the court this morning. I sat around for two hours before they choose the names for Jury service. I wasn't selected so was told I was free to go but I would have to phone after 5pm tonight to check if I am needed tomorrow and the flaming line is contstantly engaged

That's the british justice system for you, i think its a bizarre way jury service but i suppose if your called you have to go even if it is a pain in the neck.

I got my university accomodation offer through today so i know where i will be staying in September. I 'm really excited now, i am going shopping for essentials today. The room has internet connection which i definitly not good for me, it is the bigggest distraction going. We'll soon find out though.

Haven't posted on here for a bit, so here goes....

Last week - what a week. Firstly, my dad popped round to let me know that my Great Uncle had passed away 2 weeks previously (and that I'd missed the funeral) would have been nice to have had the option to have gone and said my goodbyes, but obviously couldn't. He had had cancer for 2 years and had kept going for a lot longer than anyone thought he would, but it was a peaceful end, which is the main thing.

Then on Friday, my stepgrandfather was rushed to hospital. He had MS and was chair bound, no mobility in his legs or from the waist down. They thought he had a stroke and that he definitely had pneumonia. Well, he lost the use of his body from the neck down following, was pretty unresponsive, couldn't talk or anything. He fought bravely for a few more days, but then sadly he passed away on Tuesday morning.

So not such a good time of it but for both, was a happy release for them both.

On Tuesday, I'd already promised Ste a trip, so amongst all of the Bank Hols traffic made our way to Wales and popped to Cardiff for the Dr Who exhibition which was pretty good - we both enjoyed it and Ci enjoyed spending the day with his nan at Diggerland.

Boys are back to school next Weds and I had forgotten so now it will end up being a rush job to get all of their things sorted out ready for then (and believe me, I'm not in the mood or the condition to be rushing!! :rotfl: )

My niece is doing a lot better she is finally out of the high dependisy ward and onto a normal ward, she is of the oxygen and Plasma but is still on dialsys but is hoping to be off that in a few days. I am going to see her tomorrow, which is the first time I have seen her in three weeks. Went to visit my niece tonight in hospital. It was the first time Marley and I have seen her in three weeks since she was taken to hospital. Good news she is getting home tomorrow, she has to return in three weeks time to the Renal Clinic to have her kidneys checked and blood taken. She has put on a lot of weight due to the steriods but it was such a joy to see some colour in her cheeks. The first thing she said to me was sorry that she had missed my birthday. Bless her wee soul.

near the beginning of august i went to venice for 5 days, which was good although there wasnt really much to do there after a while. though the weather was really hot apart from one evening when it poured down with rain and so we got soaked! then from 18th to 25th we went down to stay with my mums cousin who owns a hotel in bournemouth. the weather wasnt that great for the beginning of the week but it got better towards the end

yesterday i moved into my new house at uni. not properly moved in, just took some of my stuff down, which was lucky seeing as there were no matresses on the beds! the house is nice though, its just been newly built. i had to change the furniture around though cos i didnt like how it was lol! met some of my neighbours who seem really nice so cant wait to move in properly in just under 2 weeks! :D

Happy 16th Tannie, hope it was good.

finally got the house back to myself, everyones back at work school and everything else. Feels normal again. Just looked at getting a train from southport to Manchester Picadilly on a sunday and the only way is to go to Wigan then a bus to bolton and then a train back, why can't these routes be simple.

Just got back from a 2 hour thing at college - alot is changing  we had a new principle join after xmas this year and he decided to make a hell of a lot of changes, for a start he made all the staff re-apply for their jobs with no guarentee they would get it back.

They heard about jobs i think about middle of June-ish and the news they got caused over 150 staff members to quit (before had there had been about 5 strikes over this) it was in the local paper for quite a few weeks before and after we broke up for summer becuase of this new principle dude.

Well this 2 hour thing today, we learnt that these staff members had still not been replaced and they are very understaffed right now so on a temorary basis we have two days a week off (thursday and friday) However another change this bloke made was to have us be set 2 targets per day, if by half past 4 the tasks are not completed we could be staying till like half 8 till they have been completed  if it then gets to half past 8 and they still are not done then we go but we are back in on saturday morning  if you get 3 strikes (like bad attendance and uncompleted tasks etc) then you are thrown out of the college (this includes lateness unless you have a very good reason) you still get qualifications but its not the ones you should be getting.

Each student will also be forced to sign up for enrichment (at least one - its not optional - oh how fun) and if you sign up and dont go that also counts as a strike (as it counts towards your attendance)

Because of the changes we get 2 days off up till xmas when itll all change because they hope to be fully staffed by then so till then its a 3 day week because of staff and room shortage (due to building work)

We aint in again till friday then next week we aint in monday but we are in tuesday and wednesday then we are in thursday afternoon but going off site which will cost us £5 to go and do some team building stuff (including rounders - which i despise - if i wanted to play rounders id being doing sports)

So year this year is going to be so much fun

Thats ridiculous. Enrichment classes, two targets per day and college on Saturday   I hope it doesn't go too badly. I don't see how you can complete your courses and get a decent grade doing three days per week.
What are the targets like?

We get a new head in December, a woman, so it should be fun to see what changes she puts in place.

Xx-Vicky-xX
04-09-2007, 16:51
Dont know about the targets yet that will be the fun part, but the 3 day a week thing is only temp until they get staff again, the compulsory enrichment thing is crap though they never have anything im interested in except learning to play an instument but thats pointless because my parents wont let me have an instrument so why bother learning to play one for a year then stop its stupid

I'm not surprised you're wound up about that! Eek, I was annoyed enough at the work I had to do today. I'm unimpressed at the fact my school's decided to set PE by ability.

I haven't done PE for 2 years as I couldn't cope with it, and now I think I'm going to be forced into doing it. I'm in set 5 (bottom.) I don't want to go to a bottom set lesson ever or I'll get a load more stick for it :(

yesterday i moved into my new house at uni. not properly moved in, just took some of my stuff down, which was lucky seeing as there were no matresses on the beds! the house is nice though, its just been newly built. i had to change the furniture around though cos i didnt like how it was lol! met some of my neighbours who seem really nice so cant wait to move in properly in just under 2 weeks! :D

thankfully we now have matresses on the bed! though its annoying cos weve been made to start paying rent from the 1st sept but theres work still being done on the house! anyway went back down there yesterday taking some more stuff down, moving in on a week friday hopefully so looking forward to that :)

also got a new phone on monday, it was meant to be £140 but i got it for £95 so im quite pleased with that

I am kind of miserable.

On of my close colleagues died suddenly last week. He was a fit, family guy of about 50 - he ran and played 5 a side regularly and wasn't ill at all.

He collapsed at work and died several days later. He has a young son and his family a devastated as you would expect.

It is really heartbreaking.

Work to live - don't live for work. It isn't worth it, really
it isn't.

Sorry to hear about your close colleague Trinity - that must have been a real shock.

I started sixthform 2 days ago - we've had 2 induction days and tomorrow i start my subjects for AS level - i am looking forward to it, but i'm a bit nervous too as sixthform is different to Year 11.

glad you two are both enjoying college, i found the 2 years of 6th form college were miles better than school, they give you more freedom and find that the people you are with are like you as you have picked the same subjects and things.

What subjects have you chosen to do?

DaVeyWaVey
06-09-2007, 20:16
I took Drama, English Literature, ICT and Media Studies.

I started my subjects today and i had 3 free lessons in a row! So between 10am and 2pm i was doing absolutely nothing and just hanging round with mates..it was a bit boring lol...but you do have a lot more freedom and i feel the teachers respect you a lot more (the headteacher even joked with me and a group of friends today! ) I had Media and English today - good lessons so far, except my English teacher totally goes off the topic we are meant to be talking about and talks about random things. :rotfl:

id use the stairs as well abbie lifts are scary things, im never using one ever again after today!!

i took connor to taekwondo which is on second floor and as he is lazy he refuses to climb the stairs! i needed to drop spomething off to curves, the gym i got to which is on the the thrird floor so as we were early i decided to nip up quik and drop it off. so we pressed for thrid floor and it went up fine the just as it reahed floor 3 it made a wierd clanging noise like something had hit it. me and connor looked at eavh other and waited for doors to open, which it didnt!!!!

we just stood there waiting for a while and i was thinking oh god im stuck in here its boiling hot and noone will be able to rescue us, noone will ever find us (as you do) and connor will ahve to eat me to survive LOL!!!

was about to press alarm button when thought just whack the open door button a few times!!! so relieve dwhen it finally opened!

But never again will i use a lift that was far to close to me being stuck!!!! we used teh stairs t go down!!

I'm with you Debs, i hate lifts and you think about hitting the panic button if it stopped like what happened to you, were in the ones in Stockport town centre to get to the car park and we had a lot of shopping, get in its making weird noises probably because it was built in the 1800s its that old and then i look across at where the emergency thing is and someone has robbed the phone. Thnakfully it let us out, but i am never using a lift again. I really hate tham.

Abi and Dave they both sound like good subjects. hope you enjoy them, there was nothing worse than having free lessons, especially if you went in at 9 to discover your teacher was absent and didnt have a lesson till 2, luckily we could get into town quite easily.

I got stuck in a lift about eight years ago when my sister was moving into her uni accomodation. It was one of them really old ones with the grill thing you pull across before you can close the door. I got stuck between floors and I was terrified.

I'm supposed to be doing some business homework on external influences and them some physics reading but I really can't be bothered. I want to go out for a drive later so I'll have to see what my dad is doing. It'll be the first time I've been out with my dad in the car so I'm a bit nervous.

I think I might go on STA travel and plan my jaunt around Europe next summer.

Had some coursework to finish off which I somehow managed to do, and I went out with my dad and his mates last night, which was fun. My mum was less than impressed this morning when she found the curry sauce on the new carpet, though.

We got our lessons cut by an hour this year so we only have four hours per subject, 12 hours overall per week. Start at 9am, finish at 11am then start again at 1pm and finish at 3pm. I suppose there's no reason to fail this year with all the spare time I have to read up on things.

Ive been in hospital....and pretty much out of it this week...darn pain killers!

Had to go to the doc as the very strong pain killers I was taking were giving me a headache from hell, plus making me really sick all the time (not a pretty sight! )

However, Im getting there now, and should be more or less recovered by the weekend...I do hope soooo, as I think Ive totally overdosed on Jeremy Kyle this week too! Actually maybe it wasnt the pain killers which were making me violently sick, but Jeremy Kyle? :hmm: lol

Aww, sounds nasty. Hope you do recover soon.

Saw gran again yesterday but I don't think she looks any better. One of the doctors said it could be cancer, but they still don't really know and even had her in isolation one night. She had a scan for yesterday and I'm not sure I want to hear the results of it. Should be seeing her again tomorrow though.

Had enough of school too, and I really don't want to be doing some presentation in front of the class. Maths homework on angles, again. I can't do angles to save my life and he shows the scores to the whole class.

Aw poor babes PB hope you better soon. Have a swig of corvonia abd you'll be right as rain. Speaking of which pass me some I've got a barking cough that's doing my head in. I had to take the day of work today as Marley took unwell on the way to school. What should have been a fifteen minute bus ride to school ended up as a 40 minute one as one road was closed because of road works and all the traffic had to be diverted, because of this she felt dreadful on the bus as she suffers from travel sickness. I got off two bus stops early to get her some air and a drink of water to see if she would feel better. But she was still crying when we got to school. I had to just bring her home again poor lamb and it's her birthday today as well.

First full week back at school and I'm knackered. 6th formers are all going to be getting photo ID badges because there are plain clothed intruders in school and the new staff don't know who are students and who shouldn't be there.

I booked my theory test today, 3rd October. I need to get swotting up as I haven't really done much. Hopefully after that I can get my test booked
My sister passed on Tuesday after taking her test five times. She's now coming over every night in her car just because she can. She rang me up earlier and said she couldn't come tonight because she needed some petrol and didn't know how to get the fuel cap off :rotfl: She made me laugh on Wednesday. She rang up after she work to say she'd driven there but when she got up in the morning Boris was icy so she had to give him a warm bath  It was at least ten degrees during the night though.

I've been doing my bit for a cancer charity to, Sail 4 cancer at teh annual 24 hour race held at west lancs yacht club. I am absolutly shattered now and can hardly move, my muscles are killing me. I think i have pulled one at the back of my foot from leaning out on the toe straps. It was flipping windy and hard work. I did 3 stints meaning i sailed 12 - 2 and capsized 3 times. Then came in to find out i was on again 3 - 4 30 in the morning and i capsixed again. Finally got changed to find out one of our crews was ill would i mind filling in at 9 til 10 30 on the sunday morning. So i am shattered from sailing plus the fact i was up all night on docking dutyand got no sleep for the whole 24 hours.

After i went to see City which was a great idea as they won. I could't believe it it was completly different to last season. Oh and i have one more week before uni.

Glad to hear everyone's nice, Katy.

I've had a really busy month with homework and such, and I am currently supposed to be completing some online worksheets.

I've been invited to my friends' 16th birthday on Saturday, so I'm looking forward to that. We're going for a pizza and then back to her house, so it should be good.

Yesterday we had a fire drill for the first time in about a year and a half, and it wasn't even planned. Something was being done with tarmac just across from the school and so it smelt a bit, leading me to think that the school was on fire!

One of the pipes also burst and they had to get an emergency fix done on it. We all found it quite amusing when they had two cones with Art Exhibition written on them blocking it off.

Then after the boss came in and told me it was a practice, I lined the class up and marched them down the corridor and out via the library. I forgot I had a fire door in my classroom!!! Well my old classroom didnt have an external door....it was more of a walk in cupboard!

This week has been ok to tell you the truth:D

Monday - School was ok, but was on my toes all day as i had asked my ex out on Sunday night and he said he would tell me on Monday, so i had to wait till i got home and he said yes:D!

Tuesday - School as perusual was boring, Had a massive argument with my grandma and told her what i thought of her althrough i didn't mean it, i was just really annoyed and angry.

Wednesday - Sore Stomach, Snapped at the nurse as she is actually so useless it's unbelivable! Went home at lunch with my swiss roll. And then was sick like four times! so went to bed at about 9.

Thursday - Nothing exciting really apart from double computing last two periods and i got told i looked twelve. Was so funny through and then i burst out laughing just for the sake of it. Came home and just relaxed.

Yesterday - We had school photographs and i dont smile in photographs and then after i had it taken the photographer went to me what's up with you all today? and i went i don't smile and he just laughed then i came home and went to tesco's! Oh and there was an ambulance at the schools yesterday as a 3rd/4th Year shattered her hip as she fell on concrete! as the school had decided to play football on the tennis courts!

Then today i haven't been up to much really on here and chilling =]

Just checked your profile (I wanted to see if you're doing an A level in physics) and we share the same birthday! Except I'm a year older.

Got another migraine. I've had it twelve hours now and it's just getting worse. I'm getting fed up of having them. Since February I've had at least one every five - six weeks and I've started getting a really bad one then a few days later I get another small one. I don't think the migraleve is helping, it has codeine in and just lately I've become really sensitive to codeine, I've started hallucinating on the lowest strength co-codamol (8/500), I get blinding headaches (different to migraines) and I start shaking.

Sorry to moan. I'll shut up now :)

I had my cousin's christening yesterday, i went to bed at midnight on saturday night as we went to my cousin's on saturday to help out and we had been doing food and decorations all day, then yesterday we got up at 6 to carry on where we left off the night before, we didnt stop from 6 till half 10, baby George ended up banging his head so that didnt help with the stress of it either, then people turned up at 11 and it was rushing around from then on.

I went with my cousin Janene (George's mum) early so i could set up the video camera (i was filming it) but that made no difference because there was still one on when we arrived but my other cousin Harriet was there so we stood there chatting while that finished, then we all went in and i had to quickly set the camera up, luckily one of the god fathers was missing so that gave me some time

Finally it started, me and Harriet couldn'y keep a straight face so luckily it didnt last long (half our)

My cousin said something she shouldn't have which came out on the tape so i have to edit that bit, but all in all it was a good day and George was very good, we think he wanted to get in the water when the vicar was doing the water on his head part

More from my advice message :p..
I was sick last night, and I stayed off college today :(. Definately won't be doing that in a hurry again. It was like the hole pringle thing... once you pop (in this case the lid), you can't stop. :( Still feel a bit iffy now, but ah well.. my own fault.

I've had a good day - my friend got tickets for me and him to go and see Fighstar next Wednesday night. I'm really looking forward to it, we're right at the front apparently and Charlie Simpson is hot!!

Aside from that, school is going ok...got to read a load of books and going to see a play next Wednesday at the theatre so that should be fun! Also we're having a formal sixthform launch tomorrow at my school so will be helping out with that and maybe doing a newspaper article on it! Another article of mine is hopefully going to be in my local paper tomorrow as well so fingers crossed!

Yesterday and today hasn't been to bad for me.

Yesterday i had no glasses as i had lost them well i had through i lost when to be precise they were between my bed and bed side cabinet my mum found them this afternoon:D School was quite boring yesterday. Nothing exciting happend to be honest. Then went out last night but headed back in like after an hour as it was freezing! So for the first time in age's i saw eastenders then headed up to my bed after having a long discussion with my gran which i really like doing as she seems to understand where im coming from then i went to my bed.

Today everything went from not to bad to worse. My 2 friends got threatened yesterday so me and my sisters friend went to see Mr Mcgee about it. He said she had to see Mrs Melville But to be honest she doesn't do anything but tell them to make back up but when they fall back out this all happens again. Had to persuade her that they weren't worth getting all upset over but she didn't really listein to me. My other friend didn't go to college (They go every tuesday afternoon to do childcare) she was in tears and walked out the school. So i dunno what was happening about her.
Handed in my English essay (Imaginative) yesterday and i'm kind of scared of what he'll put it down as, it could of been better but i couldn't of ome up with a good story line but hey i thought it was ok just hoped he did to!

Thats all really so all in all yesterday was the better day for me!

There's not much you can say really that will make things better. "Sorry" just never seems to cut it. You could send a sympathy card to let the family know you're thinking of them.

If his were prepared for his death it might be slightly easier on them. My friend's dad died last week, he'd had a stroke and the doctor said the chance of recovery was virtually nil. Because she'd had time to prepare for him dying it wasn't as hard as it might have been had he died straight away. I suppose every case is different though.

My day has been pretty average. Had physics this morning and then tutor period (we have it as a year group in the common room with our tutors and head of 6th). Some lad was sat on the table behind me and about halfway through tutor he fell off the table and fainted. It was so sudden nobody spoke for a while and it took the teacher a few minutes to remember what she was talking about. I think he's ok now.

:D Hi every one..
Well we are back from a month long visit in the USA, the first week we spent it in Wisconsin with my son ,his wife and our grand son Ben ( who greeted us at the door with a big plush turtle hat on his head LOL )
2nd week we spent it in Southern Illinois ( my old stomping grounds )Stayed at a motel owned by my moms Italian friend Anne ( who was recovering from breast cancer sugery) Since I knew that motel like the back of my own hand ( I worked there during the summer when I was a teen ager ) we took care of our room ( ie changing linens etc ) we spent alot of time with my mom ( who just turned 86 while we were there ) Met up with my ex sister in law ( who I had not talked to in person in about 10 yrs,, after she and my brother divorced) for dinner one night,, each night we were having dinner with different people, or breakfast with different family members,, BTW the motel did not cost us any thing,, all she wanted was to have us with her ( shes always looked on my moms kids as her own cos she was never blessed with kids .. shes 84 )
3rd and 4th weekend was pretty much on the road, the car we were given at Hertz was simply put CRAPPY.. it was small and really basic,, meaning no cruise control and just too small for the type of trip we take every year ( meaning taking side trips down the off the beaten track cos it just was not equipped for it )
We spent 13 days in different motels.
The biggest surprise I got was when Kim went off to a big computer store and came back to the motel with a brand new lap top with VISTA PREMIUM ,, and he said it was mine ,,, whahooooooooooo,,, so we did not need to visit libraries to use the PC,, we had wireless.....so we hit all the motels that offered free internet...some didn't have it but we found hot spots and used that,, it was great. Most of the places we stayed at were actually really nice..
We had a few bad moments, I had to take Kim to the emergency room ( A&E )in Nebraska, he had been bitten by at least 100 misquitos and he found 3 ticks on his body,, well he was full of "toxins"from the bites,, and was so feverish,, so at 1 a.m in the morning I took him in and it was his first experince in an American emergency room ( he was impressed with the service but was a bit confused with all the paper work ) The lady taking down all the info was confused with all the Dutch info he had.. especially his Dutch passport, and Dutch health insurance card,, he spent about 30 min translating the IMPORTANT stuff..They put him on some heavy duty anti botics to fight the toxins, he was having some serious flu like symtoms,, his joints were swelling up and he was hot and cold ..The doctor was a nice lady and she explained why all the paper work was neccessary ( covering their butts,, ya know to make sure they had all the info)and she was really enjoying the experince treating an European tourist,,( they get American vacationers but not Europeans )
2nd bad experince was in Billings Montana,,we checked in a motel.. and the room was on the 2nd floor..Kim was still feeling bad,, so I went down to get some things out of the trunk/boot of the car and went out and got him something to eat at a fast food place up the street ( yes I drive folks )
We sat down to eat and he finally gave in and went to sleep ( it wasnt even 8 p.m.) ( and he needed the rest )Next morning,, he woke me up in a panic,, NO CAR KEYS,, he had gone thru my purse, my jeans pocket , the computer bag , tossed the bed,, the blankets every thing NO CAR KEYS,, PANIC sets in,, we call the local Hertz rental office, asking what to do,,, they suggest a lock smith,, so I haul myself down to the office, and ask the lady there who owns the place if she had a lock smith ( I know every motel or hotel or B&B has at least 2 or 3 locksmiths on retainer ) So the guy comes in, and unlocks the car,, I knew I must have left them in the boot of the car,, yep they were sitting on top of the suitcase I had opened after i picked up the food........45 dollars,, ok Kim was peeved but relieved that we did not have to have a key cut ( that would have cost about 200 dollars ) What the guy did was he cut the key ring in half and gave me a key and kim a key,, if one of us lost a key at least one of us would have one,, any way.. that was the last of the "bad stuff"
We got back to Wisconsin 2 days before we were to leave back to Holland, so I could spend some time with my son and grand son,,,, and a surprise,, I am gonna be a grandma again in May,, :cheer: :cheer:
We got to the airport on the 2nd of Oct and had 3 hours to spare ( we were the 2nd ones in line to check in ) wandered around the airport,, looked in the shops,, finally we board,, .. we had 7 hours 15 min air time,, we landed got our luggage,, headed to the train station upstairs,, Kim calls the trein Taxi to let them know to pick us up at the station,, we arrive,, NO TAXI,, and its cold and rainy,, Kim is not pleased,, i am wet and cold and TIRED,, 2 hours after we landed we are stuck at the station,, Kims dad is in the hospital ( no one bothered to tell us that ) having tests ( and his mom cant drive .. cos she is legally blind ) Kim calls the train taxi dispatcher 4 more times and finally the guy shows up,,, NO APOLOGIES,, WTF..we get home give the guy his money ( just for the trip NO TIP ) Kim runs next door to see if his mom and dad are ok,, and borrows his dads car to get our dog out of the kennel,, I am tossing stuff out of the 4 suitcases and the 2 carry ons,, wanted to get every thing out and put away before I crashed..
Once the dog was home,, Kim took his dads car back ( they are just next door ) then goes to the garage to get our car,,,,,,,,, bad news,,, our van needs a total engine over haul which will cost approx 2 thousand euros, , Kim is peeved.. which means we need a new car..then we get a phone call, the furnace ( heater ) guy tells us our furnace needs to be replaaced ( he came a week after we left to the usa under Kims dads supervision) that would cost 5 thousand euros ( to replace the furnace and boilers ) ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Any way.... we are back ... and we are OK,, I think I have another few days before I will be back to normal..
Sorry this is so long LOL

Well i went to my friends party last night and i did end up getting drunk. I really didn't mean too but i had a few vodka shots, 2 cans of Strongbow, half a bottle of WKD and some vodka and coke..thinking i would be ok but to be honest, the drink just took over. My friends have recorded some of the stuff i did on their phones so it'll be round the school by Monday.

I remember some of what happened, but some of it is a blank. For example, i asked my friend for a naked drink! (a drink that is see through. ) And i jumped up and down, hugging everyone and kissing my friend's arms announcing that i had a wee in the toilet when in fact i had a pee on my trousers and missed the toilet completely! I also kept having more drink and my friends were trying to restrain me.:o Good night though! Loved it! :D

I remember doing that every weekend a few years back. Get absolutely wasted and start acting all hyper and doing weird things. Then, more often than not, I'd throw up, collapse and end up in hospital  Most of the time I'd wake up the next morning and think "what the hell did I do last night?" Ah fun times

I need to go into school early today to prepare a presentation on France's part in the EU for Business. We're presenting it this afternoon and I've got two slides done, one of which is a title slide. It might help if most of the blocked sites at school are unblocked. They have even blocked the European Union website which is pretty annoying because we need it.

Next door's cats got stuck on their conservatory roof this morning. Just thought I'd share that with you.

aww, i bet your really happy Abbie.

We went to the pub quiz last night and didn't come last. I am in the library at the minute. I was a bit tipsy apparently on saturday nioght. I don't remember but it was a great nioght i went out dressed as a pirate. I'll have to post a picture of me. I looked quite cool.
Uni is brilliant. Although the work load is immense. I have never worked so hard in my life an i can only imagine it will get harder.

Kim
08-10-2007, 15:29
Year 11 is enough for me at the moment, lol! And I'm planning to go to uni.

Quite a constructive day, not! It worked out rather well because I really wasn't in the right mood for lessons this morning and I got to school to find that it was closed because of a massive powercut.

So I came all the way home, and by about five to nine I was climbing on a tyre to undo the bolt on the gate. So the taxi driver says to move the curtains when I get in so that he knows I got in ok. So I basically trashed the garden looking for the back door key because I knew my mum left one out somewhere, but it wasn't where it used to be and I couldn't find it. Then I frantically rang my dad up again, to ask him where it was, because the taxi driver would have probably taken me to the council offices which are a good six miles away, and my mum wouldn't have been able to come and get me. My dad wasn't in his lorry at that point and didn't answer his phone, so I had to go back out. Luckily the taxi driver had gone; he must have seen the curtain move because my dog likes to climb on the chair and he tries to open the curtains.

So I looked again, but no joy. Did some Geography work on the patio table before I got bored and decided to use my dinner money to down town. Only problem was, I rammed the gate so hard that I couldn't open it to get out. So I sat in the garden until 11:05 doing RE work and dying for the toilet for about an hour, lol! And my mum's hoover parts turned up and the delivery man chucked them over the gate, so I thought someone had kicked the gate open.

Kim
08-10-2007, 17:20
Yeah I do, but I leave it at home when it's not the summer because the front door is really stiff and that's the only time I can open the front door. It's far easier to go round the back; I swear I've shrunk as I didn't need to stand on anything the last time I went that way, lol!

I have quite a lot at the moment; the teachers didn't set much work over the holiday and need it all done pretty soon because of the exam board's coursework mark submission deadlines, so we're getting it all at once.

I had an okay day.

I'm really not getting the whole "do work" thing. Every time I went to do some in college I kept chatting to my mates instead. Grrr. One day I'll learn to do it :p.

So I thought I'd do it now. I've been doing it for 2 hours, but keep getting distracted, so I've only done a little bit. First it was Bebo, then Sbs, then I was drawing Mickey Mouse on my task sheet. Then I started doing a cartoon where "Cowboy Dwayne" was saving a penguin from a spider.. great stuff ;). Now I'm on here describing me not doing work... hmmm I have issues haha. I just can't be bothereddddd!!!!

Had 2 job interviews today. Woop. Find out about one tomorrow. The other on Thurs. So fingers crossed for at least one of them!!

had two lectures to day which is a quiet day for me. Economics and Contract Law, was not too bad to be honest. It is weird that all my friends are all over the country. But i have a whole new set. Its the weirdest thing. A lad from our corridor has left already. We though it was odd no one had seen him so we phoned security who poppoed up and opened the door to find a note saying he had gone. We should be getting a new arrival anyday now.

I'm trying to motivate myself to do some reading because we had no work set but it isn't happening. It's absolulty freezing here and I just want to go to bed. I've got biology coursework to do and my personal statement to write. I started writing it and did a fair bit but I've lost it.

Mum's going into hospital tomorrow for a while for some tests so I'm going to be on my own every day from 1pm until my dad comes in around 11pm.

I should have done my biology coursework today and some Physics reading and a whole load of other stuff. I really couldn't be bothered. Oh well, it looks like I'll have to find a credible excuse for why I haven't done my coursework. There's just too much going on at home at the moment for me to be bothered about doing coursework.

I'm trying to remember how to synchronize my wireless mouse. I get the mouse and reciever to flash but nothing happens after that.

I really should have done a lot more Geography coursework than I have. The whole thing bores me if I have to do it out of lessons, so I wrote a sentence in three hours. Then I forced myself to finish analysing some graphs, but I have more graphs to do. Then I decided to do Business, but I did a bit and left that. Was going to do RE, but I decided against that.

Also got a Safe Driving thing to go to in a few weeks, although I thought that was for Year 12. Prizegiving is also next week, and I had no idea I'd won anything until they read the names out in assembly. My tutor's terrible at giving letters out, so I still don't know exactly what I've won. I'll have to try not to run in ten minutes late this time.

Oh dear, Dave. Suddenly dropping my phone into the sea seems quite moderate. I had quite an embarrassing video of me played to my Science class once, but it's a good job I wasn't drunk.

Last night, i went to see Fightstar in concert. It was really good, though my feet really hurt as the concert lasted 4 hours and it was 4 hours of standing up! The support bands were on for 3 hours before Fightstar, and they were only on for an hour which was a bit of a shame! It was really claustrophobic, and at one point, i nearly fainted as i was so sweaty and didn't have much to drink - the bands and Fightstar were good though!

Ooo another thing...went to the theatre yesterday to see "The Servant of Two Masters" - Les Dennis was in the lead role! But it was still alright.. at one point, it looked like someone got stabbed in the audience by one of the actors but luckily it was all staged but it felt real at the time!

Ok-ish day. I was almost crying in Biology because I didn't have a clue what the teacher was talking about and he just kept talking and saying all these things that I should know and I just wanted to tell him to shut up.

Finally got my mouse to synchronise, the battery cover wasn't on properly. I've had to tape the cover on because it keeps coming loose.

I went to see mum in hospital this afternoon. They still have no idea what is wrong with her so she doesn't know when she's coming home.

Had my hair cut today. It's really short, shorter than I've ever had it. It won't even go back in a bobble. I do like it but it'll take some getting used to the length. I have a loose wire in my straighteners and they aren't heating up properly so I've got a few kinks in my hair.

Mum is home until Sunday. There's little point in her staying when there are no doctors on on a weekend. GP isn't happy because the consultant at the hospital gave her sleeping pills when she doesn't need them and he's been trying to prescribe her carbamazipine which is a dangerous drug on its own and potentially lethal with the drugs she is already taking. The GP flipped his lid when mum rang him earlier.

I think I'm starting to struggle with A2s. We're back to doing biochemistry in biology which just bores me to death. It's so pointless learning about the structure of a carbohydrate and the chemical processes in respiration.

Yesterday and today didn't go school. Yesterday I TOTALLY lost my voice and the doc's said I should have the day off, I decided I shan't go to school today too because it was hurting when I spoke and coughed (killed more like)..
I just come back from going to a clothes party my mate had, it was alright but didn't really buy anything seeing as nothing really interested me SOO much suprisingly, I hardly spoke but it was good fun still lol..
Yesterday it's sis's birthday party and on Sunday it's my cousins party..
I got so much coursework and homework to do because I haven't been in so have no idea how I'm going to fit it all in!

I feel the same as you. Snowed under with work! I'm doing the exact same thing in my double applied science biology class...I don't get it at all :p I'd actually rather do the heart dissection :o but we don't get to do it until after christmas :(

The title of my philosophy essay goes something like..: "All religion is meaningless. Discuss" :wall: and I've also got another history essay :wall:

My parents have gone away to some Rotary conference in France for the weekend..don't feel like going to bed yet...

On the plus side my friend is coming over tommorow and we're going to make pizza's for supper. That should be hilarious

I had a really embarrasing day at work yesterday. As most of you will know for my sins I have to share an office with 12 men. Any way yesterday morning I was in the workroom tidying the paper recycling bags there was a half-full bag on the floor and one in the box so I decided to put all the paper into one bag to keep the place tidy, there was 1 guy in the office called John along with me. Anyway here I was bent over a recycling box with my head in it when another guy called Lee came in, he was going to a meeting so he was fixing his shirt. He pulled open his trousers to tuck himself in not realising that he was standing right behind me (You get the picture) Anyway I heard John laughing stood up turned around and saw Lee standing behind me with his trousers undone :rotfl:

I said WTF are you doing, it was hard to tell who had the reddest face.

I've got a shedload of coursework and reading to do. I still don't know why I'm leaving it until the last minute when I can't be bothered to do it. I've only been up an hour so it looks like I'm stuck doing work until some stupid hour because I have so much.

Our group cheated when we were collecting our results on our biology field trip (I think most people would if they had to measure the length and number of fronds of 100 pieces of seaweed in the freezing cold :wall: ) and now it looks like our coursework is going to be wrong. Oh well, we might end up getting more marks for it.

I hate when people change. One of my friends starting smoking weed to 'fit in' with a couple of girls i know. Now they shoplift etc. She's admitted she just does it to fit in. I don't think she realises weed messes up your head and shoplifting gets you a criminal record. She keeps complaining about not having enough money, but she turns up late and misses class so her £30 EMA gets stopped!
One of my other friends is going down that road as well. It's a real shame because she used to be such a nice happy hyper person and now she's really bitchy.

Sorry for that rant.. I feel better now. :)

Had a three hours driving lesson this morning so I was knackered when I got back. In the next four weeks upto my test it's going to cost me £200 for lessons. I really do hope I pass, I can't afford not to. I'm getting a car for my birthday (two weeks!!) then my test is two weeks after that so hopefully I can drive my new car on my own soon.

Finally finished my coursework upto where the teacher said. It's still nowhere near finished and I bet I've done something wrong. The teacher always seems to find fault with anything that I do or makes me think I'm thick with the way he talks to me. Grr, I hate biology.

Pretty average day. Some guys came from Newcastle uni to give us a talk on personal statements. I feel more confident now, they made several important point and gave us some excellent pointers on what to include. I think I'm going to have a bash at mine over half term.

Got my car yesterday, an old Fiat Punto. I've been out in it once last week. Its a lot different to my instructor's car. It doesn't have ABS or power steering. It hates being in anything less than 4th over 15mph. You're likely to get whiplash if you sit in the back (mainly because I speed). But still, it's a car, my very own, first car and I'm proud of it  My parents have bought it for my for my birthday in two weeks off my sister. She calls it Boris but I think I'll have to change it's name (any ideas welcomed). My test is in four weeks so hopefully I'll pass first time then I can drive my car without anyone telling me to stop speeding. Saying that though, there's no chance of me doing anything more than 70mph at any time. I'm going to shut up about my car now...

I've got a shedload of coursework and other work to do. I have an A3 poster to do on the conversion of glucose to glycogen for Tuesday which I haven't started yet. Its mainly just cutting at sticking but I have to make protein channels and loads of fiddly bits.

Going to Halfords today to see about a cd player for my car.

I don't know why but it always happens like that. I also always end up going to bed early when i could havea lie in in the moring.
REmembered to put my clocks back, had a nice lie in. Went sailing yesterday and i am feeling it now. My stomach is killing me from where i have stretched trying to reright the boat once i had capsized.

When I had Marley at Judo on Tuesday I met a friend who is a youth worker and she asked me if Marley and I would like to be in the local pantomine as they are still looking for volunteers. I used to be heavly involved with the pantomines before I had Marley I was in about 6 of them usually playing the chief baddie thick side-kick (No type-casting there :rotfl: ) I agreed as I'm a soft touch and we went down to the community centre today for the rehearsal Marley is going to be playing the part of the sargent of the Sheriffs soilders. I haven't got a part yet but will get one next week. Apart from that we made Chocolate and Banana muffins and rice crispie spider cakes.

aww, i love panto, i have done many in my time.

I have been spending money i don't have, its lethal letting me in HMV on a normal day never mind when there is a sale on. I bought City lights box set and shameless series four. Just waiting for a seminar now. Keeping myself busy.

thats the joy of daytime tv, house selling car boot sales, getting rid of junk in your house, how to buy a house, antinques, the list is ending, it almost makes going to work or college fun.

I have kjust had the most boring lecture ever. Why oh Why did i pick Economics.

I've had a really bad day. Physics was a nightmare, I got stuck on a question which I thought I had to re-arrange the formula to get the distance and the charge. Turns out I didn't have to re-arrange, just cancel everything out and work out another formula for it   My teacher kept going through it with me and I still didn't understand. Everybody else had got it and they moved on and I was just sat there trying really hard not to cry. So of course I got so far behind everybody else when I finally caught up I still didn't have a clue what was happening. When I got home I cried for ages. I feel like I'm holding people back and taking up too much of the teacher's time, especially in biology. I think the teacher likes to humiliate me every lesson by asking me questions I don't know the answer to then asking everybody else to explain it to me while he sits there with a smug look on his face.

My teacher asked if I was ok at the end of the lesson and I just walked out without saying anything to him. I was just so stressed I wasn't in the mood for one of his conversations which invariably end up about what's been going on in my life in recent months.

Anyway, I'll stop moaning now. Three hour driving lesson in morning. I'm starting to think that I'm not going to pass my test in two weeks.

Birthday on Friday :) Don't feel much like celebrating at the moment.

Can you not go to the teacher at dinner time and ask for extra help. I always did that, i practically lived in Kevs office when i was doing A Level Law and Geography i spent hours after college with Bill trying to explain glaciation. It did pay off, i thought i did not have a hope of getting a D to a C it meant i needed A BB in the Exam, which i managed. Hope it starts getting better.
ARe you 18 on Friday.

Spicy if you read this, Happy 16th for Today, hope you have a good one.

I have a seminar to prepare for so i will sign off and head to the library it hink. Whats everyone getting up to for Haloween.

Thanks. It means a lot to know that I'm not the only one who has trouble with A levels. Everybody else in my year seems to breeze them. Its not as if I'm thick (I don't think anyway, 6As and 3Bs at GCSE) I just have real trouble concentrating and storing info.

I do have a lot of frees that I can go see teachers. I really hate asking for help though and I always think I'm taking up their time when they have a job to to.

Yeah, I am 18 on Friday. Still not really looking forward to it, my last two birthdays were rubbish so I don't see why this one is going to be any different.

Glad you had a good day, four of my friends have their birthdays today as well, how weird.
I was meant to be going out tonight, but i got no money and tons of work. We are having some drinks here in halls and then i am going to listen to the footy with a mate and chill in the common room.

I found my a levels really tricky but in a way it was the best thing ever as it prepared me for uni.

Aw....yeah, it probably wont hit her yet, especially as her mind is focused/kept busy with the funeral arrangements. Im sure it will be after the funeral, when life for everyone else has returned to normal that it will hit her and thats when she will need you.

Im sure she's lucky to have a good mate like you around.

We have a new business teacher. I don't know if I've told you already but we had a teacher straight out of uni, she wasn't very good. She gave us a sheet with work on it at the start of the lesson and told us to work through it for the whole two hours and she never spoke. Anyway, she left before half term because she doesn't like teaching.

We've got a really good teacher now. I've been put in for the wrong exam resit and we only found out today when my teacher checked the entries. He went straight down to the exams officer and sorted it. Usually I'd have had to go myself or wait a week for the teacher to send an email.

Got my biology coursework back. I'd ammended the bits that my teacher had pointed out previously then on the most recent draft he's changed his mind and says what I had changed is wrong  so now I'm confused. My graphs are wrong as well, it's only taken him 8 weeks to notice  So basically, I have to redo it because he made a mistake in correcting my first draft.

She left because she doesnt like teacheing. Thats brilliant, you would think she would have realised in the degree or somewhere sooner than actual getting a job. Glad its all sorted now though.

I'm busy revising, but its not going well.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend's mum Abbie, but i'm sure you did a wonderful job being there for your friend at the funeral today.

Happy birthday StarsofCCTV, Amber and Jelly Belly! Hope your all having good birthdays. Hope you had a good birthday too Spicy.

I got back from holiday today - had quite a good time. We went to Butlins in Minehead. Me, my mum and dad and my little sister went with my auntie and uncle, my two cousins and two 2nd cousins. It was ok, but i realised i am pretty crap at making new friends. I went to this teenage club thing in an effort to make new friends but left within the 1st 10 minutes, because i didn't like it too much and my family were encouraging me to try and make new mates as well... there were a few arguments within the family as well but luckily they were resolved. I went go karting though (Came 2nd!) and played snooker with my other cousin - and even ended up winning 1 game so was pretty chuffed! I was also addicted to this Bingo Arcade machine and won a few quid on that!
