WOW... that is all i can say is lastnites episode was brilliant. Gawd i love chrissie but hate her at the same time( if that makes sense) it was edge of the seat drama, as much as i wanted chrissie to get caught, at the same time i didn't. she is such a brilliant bitch! her strutting across the square was hilarious. jake was pointless and annoying as usual. billy has got more stupid and dumber ever since grant/phil came back but i like him. but the best bit was shazza'a punching chrissie. she even shocked me when she turned up. kat was kinda annoying though 'leave my zoe out of this' ' i don't want my beautiful innocent daughter involved blah blah blah...' it was like who the hell cares about your daughter.

Im sorry everyone but I thought last night's episode was a real let down! :thumbsdow I was expecting some high drama with a good car chase to the airport, but instead the first 20 - 25 minutes was absolute nonsense! Ian Beale of all people outsmarting Grant & Phil Mitchell! What tosh! And then Ian just chucking everyone out of the Cafe with the click of his fingers! Oh and how could I forget this bit... the Police letting Sharon have a little chat with Chrissie at the airport!?!? Erm... what?! As if they'd really just stand there while she had a little conversation with her! Perleese! Was expecting an action packed 30 minutes out of last night's episode, but instead the only highlight of the show ended up been Sharon smacking Chrissie, which lasted less than a minute! :thumbsdow Big dissapointment EastEnders. I don't know how anybody can say last night's episode was 'Brilliant.' I personally was expecting a much better episode! :lweek:

Last nights episode was brillant. Surely Alfie, Jane and Ian would have realised Chrissie was guilty of killing Den and that is why she was running. I am disappointed in Alfie he was always close to Sam and Peggy i didn't think he would have helped Chrissie.

Can't wait to see the look on Ian, Kat and Stacey's face on Thursday when they realise Chrissie has been arrested. Sam shouldn't leave Zoe out of it, Kat is a hypocrite she wouldn't Sam why should her or Peggy help Zoe. Great to see the Mitchells and Dennis working together. Great when Sharon punched Chrissie.

Alfie was helping Jake.. my heart went out to him when he tried to get Jake to say goodbye to Nana. He couldn't tell him that she was dying and that jake may never see her again :(

Sam already told Sharon in prison that Zoe hit Den first and the reason why, Grant and Phil werent worried too much about the pub at that point. It was a warm up to Thursday nights epi.

Alfie didnt want to know what had happened, he just wanted them out because he was scared for Nana. It wasnt fair of Jake to ask for her money or they help him, Grant and Dennis were lovely to her though.

Some times Billie is a bit thick, then there are the times he is wonderful when he gets information wihtout trying so hard. Loved Peggy when she told Kat where to get off, good for her since when she asked for help Kat didnt want to know, now the tables are turned and hoping Zoe gets her just deserts

Last night was ok by Mr Gittens's standards, but still a bit weak. He writes tomorrow's episode btw, while good old Sarah Phelps writes Alfie and Nana Moon's trip to Normandy on Friday.

Ian and Jane were very good I thought. Apart from that I thought it was a bit dull, i.e. the Chrissie/Jake (Jake is staying in repsonse to someone's response earlier, Chrissie in parts til xmas), and the unrealistic chain of events leading upto her arrest.

Sam's (somehow  ) out of prison tomorrow and reunited with the Mitchells, who pull the rug from under squeal Beale's feet as well.

Well it's neck and neck with CS atm, but after edging them out in the first week, CS last week narrowly regained the advantage. Monday's episode worked out in CS's favour. With Grunt off tomorrow, the figures may drop back further again.

Sam saw the murder, and was accessory after the fact since she helped bury the body. She's spent 3mths in prison, so she should spend another couple of years less with parole.
As for Zoe they should drag her **** back and question her, and thoroughly then again we are talking walford police here.

I quite like that episode as it just rounded everything up. Great to have Sam back and the Mitchells behind the bar again! You knew that when Phil turned away grant would be gone. Won't be the same without Grant. Johnny is going a bit sweet again prefer gangster Johnny. I do feel a bit sorry for Chrissie, the rest of her life in prison; but then another part of me doesn't since I was cheering Sharon on the past week. Tomorrows should be a very nice episode.

You know if I was Maxwell I'd disown the entire Moon family. I mean seriously -- everytime Alfie needs a favour he calls Maxwell, everytime they want Nana out the way in order to get up to mischief they pack her off to Maxwell. But does he get anything in Nana's will? No. Poor Maxy. :p

The tone between Sharon and Ian felt off -- she felt so cold and bitchy towards him -- not sorry that her friend had been tricked into buying the Vic, or even feeling betrayed that he'd given Chrissie the money to do a runner without taking Sharon's feelings into account. :searchme:

Poor episode. The ending was awful, Grant just disappearing like that, far too cheesy. The wife and I burst out laughing.

Your daughter has been in prison for a few months, and you let her get a taxi home? yeah, right.

So much of it didn't sit right. All those people that would automatically be involved. Jake, he should be up for accessory after the fact, even if Chrissy didn't mention Zoe, so what? Stacey still lied about Chrissie staying over.

Letting Sharon in on her own with a murder suspect? No way.

I'm really glad the story is nearly over, and there was a 'happier' vibe, but really, the gaping plotholes were a bit much to suspend disbelief. Still at least this is pretty much all tied up now, and EE can move on. Lots of the stuff coming out looks crap though imo.

I thought that was a poor episode. Too many things just did not seem right to me.

- Johnny seems to have had yet another personality change, this time he is the gangster that also goes to a 17 year-old girl's birthday party. What next? Voluntary work at a help the homeless shelter?

- Jake should have been held and charged with aiding and abetting a criminal. No way would they just allow him to walk free. Same with Stacey. The police must know she lied. Totally ridiculous that neither Jake nor Stacey will face any punishment. And as for Zoe...biggest plot hole ever.

- Have the Mitchells, especially Phil forgotten that Dennis helped set him up, they seem far too friendly. Again, totally absurd.

- Also, I really can't believe the speed at which Sam got out of prison. The Walford legal process seems so inept, that I just can't believe it could be that quick.

Yes Rob wrote tonight's and Tuesday's. I agree he is rubbish. He has been on EE for a very long time, since about 1988/9, and used to write good staff, but is clearly feeling the effects of old age now with the quality of his writing.

Good news for you. Tony Jordan and Sarah are writing the Christmas episodes together. :)

Florijo
10-11-2005, 20:58
That is even better, although Tony Jordan has had his share of rubbish episodes as well. The Monday episode of the Mitchell return week, written by TJ, was iffy. It is good that they are writing the episodes together. Sometimes it feels like the individual writers never talk to each other.

Richie_lecturer
10-11-2005, 21:00
I agree, there is no continuity with the writing (still) and it seems some of the writers' work is being interfered with by the bosses.

Yes TJ has wrote some duff eps in the past (including the Mitchell eps), as has Sarah imo, but they're much better than the likes of Rob and co and more likely to write a better episode.

Still while the stroylines are naff it's difficult for anybody to raise the standard of the show.

Where was Billy???? Sam gets out and he's not there to celebrate isnt right either, he should've been there to greet her or at least pick her up from the prison gate.
Dont see Johnny giving up the gangster lifestyle just on his daughters say so, no one would do that.
Grants exit was BAD SERIOUSLY BAD, he should've said good bye to his mum at least instead of walking out like that.

I think we are supposed to just forget all about the fact that Stacey lied to the police.

In hindsight, now that I have taken off my "I love EE whatever rubbish they put out" rose tinted glasses, I can see that the writing is still pretty rubbish. I wish someone would sack Rob Gittens, he is just not good enough anymore. Give his wages to someone who can write decent material. To be honest, I'm beginning to agree with the people on here, and on other forums, who have said that the better ratings that EE got with the Mitchells have masked the bad writing.

alan45
11-11-2005, 10:08
It would seem to me that following the boost in ratings brought about by the unrealistic return of the chuckle brothers EE has now settled back into its sad old routine again. I watched every episode since the return of the Magnificent Mitchells and have been completely underwhelmed. The sight of two grown thugs terrorising a teenager does nothing to help matters. The sudden release of Phil and the coincidental return of Grunt really do nothing to improve the realism of this once fine show. The scizophrenic (sp) way the characters personalities change doesnt help either. The ridiculous plotlines hhich are conveiently forgotten about as and when the producers need to explain something make EE into laughable comedy instead of the serious drama it purports to be. They need to get more consistency in their writers. Do they not speak to each other or are they all working to their own agendas.

Still I suppose they are deep in thought thinking up a return sensational storyline for Miss Piggy after her annual panto season.

The Daily Mirrors view on EE this week

SOAPVILLE
SOAPVILLE would like to point out that CCTV doesn't have sound. Ever. So the whole Chrissie Confession Tape plot on EastEnders was ludicrous. But we were totally willing to forgive that if it meant the never-ending Dead Dirty Den storyline... um... ended.

Obviously it wasn't quite that simple, though.

The week began with everyone talking about The Tape. Grant talked to Phil and Billy about it, Peggy talked to Phil then Phil talked to Grant about it again. Thrilling stuff.

Phil menacingly whispered "orange juice" at Chrissie to psych her out before sitting down with Johnny Allen to talk about the subject of the day. Johnny said he'd give Phil the tape if he came to collect it. "Do I look like some kind of mug or something?" Phil replied. (Well, as you ask - yes, you do, you red-faced loser.)

So, despite having said he wasn't stupid enough to go to Johnny's club, the very next scene showed Phil going to Johnny's club.

Johnny made him beg for the tape a bit which enraged Grant, who was eavesdropping at the door, so he burst into the room.

Then followed an (ahem) highly-realistic fight scene where together the two Mitchell brothers slightly winded one old man. For a minute.

They then took the tape, a little girl stopped Johnny from shooting them and Grant announced, "Sam's... coming home!" before calling the police.

Proper tough guys, eh?

I don't think price really matters - the whole point of all this is to give the pub back to the Mitchells were it 'belongs'. Price, and how the Mitchells will find the money, does not come into it.

WTF

Why is everyone so worried about Zoe even Sharon is protecting her wake up she broke you and Dennis up, pretended to be pregnant, sleep with your father, and did hit him also with the doorstop. I think Zoe should also be prosecuted. So Jake, Kat and Stacey who were obstructing the course of justice get off scott free.

Does eveyone Den was killed with the doorstop because the police haven't taken it from Pauline yet?

So Grant leaves without a goodbye, I thought we might have seen him and Sharon say goodbye. He even had his ticket booked before Sam was released.

Poor Ian, no Vic and he lost his money.

Was really happy when Sam was realised and came into the Vic to be with her family, it would have been nice to see more of all the Mitchells together. Everyone on the square owes Sam an apologise especially Sharon and i thought we would see her interaction with Sam.

It looks like Phil and Johnny have a score to settle, will this lead to Johnny's demise.

Kat sending Stacey on a holiday to see Zoe who she couldn't stand when she was there.

a very good episode i thought.but did anyone else get feelin that it was the last ever epidode of ee. its the way everything rounded off.also everyone was happy and saying goodbyes. sam coming out of prison, chrissie getting banged up. the mitchells getting the pub back, the slaters all happy, ruby back with her dad, dennis and sharon going on a another holiday. jake going away, nana and alfie going to normandy. it was like evrything was back to normal. also i did shed a tear when sam was reunited with her family. and grant's exit, what a exit eh, it was like something out of dr who. i miss grant thou..

yeah it seemed like everything was just stopping didn't it? i personally think grant's a bit stupid his sister has just come back for god's sake so he decides to sneak off back to rio :wall: i don't honestly think i can stand any more of this den stuff i mean he's dead for crying out loud, and still he's the main focus of this storyline
speaking of dead has anyone noticed that leo's character page still doesn't say he died? the status still says single (alothough i wouldnt call him that)

Ooh, I like this coloured writing, I never really noticed it before. :o

I'm sick of the Den stuff to. The storyline has really been the only major one this year (Leo and Demi was a semi-major storyline and I am ignoring Kat/Mo/Alfie for obvious reasons   :wall: ). I'm glad it is all being wrapped up in the next few weeks.

THE BEST EVER EPI from EE in I dont know how long, Shane was EXCELLENT as was Hilda Braid (Nana). The restraunt scene was heart wrenching, he knew even then that she was dying and didnt want to admit it, so when he went to the beach and explained it all to Sid it had me in tears too.
WONDERFUL flashbacks, best ever, how they met and loved each other on sight, the end scene at the grave was so heart wrenching, 'Do you think he'll recognise me? I mean he's so young and I'm so old'
'As soon as he sees your beautiful smile, he'll says 'There's my girl''
Hope Sarah Phelps is writing the xmas scenes, and no one else she should write like that more often they are good.

Hope Sarah Phelps is writing the xmas scenes, and no one else she should write like that more often they are good.

I have heard that Sarah is writing the Christmas and New Year episodes with Tony Jordan.

What did people think about the use of flashbacks? Over the last few months it does seem as if EE are trying out new things and techniques ie that episode back in June when Zoe left and the camera panned around the Vic and you could hear noises from the night Den died. Some episodes they have done seem a lot less soap-like, and more serious drama like.

Kim
12-11-2005, 11:05
I thought the flashbacks were good, likewise with the episode before Zoe's departure. The bit with the microphone when Billy told everyone about Alfie and Little Mo I thought was a bit silly though.

I really got into the Nan & Alfie eppi last night,, it was great , and I am so glad that Alfie finally realized that his Nan was ready to go and join her William, the guy who played SID really opened Alfies eyes..
How come I didn't see any more of those flash backs u guys were mentioning,, the ones of Kat Billy and Lil Mo,,, did they just show it in the UK or was this from Thurs's eppi ( I missed it..:crying: )
Anyway was also nice seeing Shane on Jonathan Ross show that nite,,

If they were like Nana's flashbacks then yes, if they are just to recap then no thanks. It had everything we'd been wanting for ages and Sarah Phelps wrote it so the actors could deliver a very special epi, that they should keep up.
In the early years it was more drama than soap, then it lost its way a bit, so they should start heading back into a bit more dramatic too keep us watching.

I have only been watching EE since 2001 so I do not know what it was like prior to the stuff I have seen,, the last few weeks things have been picking up and then Peg arrived, then her boys, then Chrissie and Jake picked up by the cops, then this eppi with Alfie and his Nana ( was touching and yep I admit I cried)

Agreed. Flashbacks like those used yesterday are a useful way of telling a backstory but it would lose its impact as a storytelling device if it was used too often and just for recapping purposes.

JustJodi, there were no flashbacks in that episode with Kat/Billy and Little Mo. All it was was that at the beginning of the episode, the microphone that Billy was holding fell to the ground really slowly, the sound went a bit wierd and the background, where Kat was trying to pull Little Mo out of the Vic, was all blurry. Its hard to explain (maybe someone here can explain it better :searchme: ) but it was different.

Didn't like last night's episode. Idea was good and it was good for EE to commemorate it, but it felt a bit flat imo, not helped by two boring characters. People have been comparing it to Civvy Street and Ethelgate, but while those were absolutely brilliant, this to me was pants. :(

Well like I said, even though I didn't like the episode, I thought it was good of EE to do something like this, and for that they should be commended. I really thought that it was a fantastic episode. I really didn't expect to enjoy it, but I really did get caught up in Nana's story. I think Hilda Braid deserved this episode as part of her leaving storylines, because of everyting she has contributed to the show. I think it is fair to say that she is a really well loved character, and as an actress I don't think she has got the recognition she deserves. I will be really sad to see her go, but happy for the character tht she will be reunited with her William again. I think that is really sweet...

Loved Sam sending Ian flying out of the pub! xxx

It was Kat who threw him out.

I have several questions that I hope someone here can answer...

1. How did the Queen Vic become Sharon and Dennis's to sell?
2. Why does it matter what Sam says about Stacey? Stacey gave Chrissie a false alibi and therefore "perverted the course of justice". It's irrelevant what Sam says or doesn't say. The police would have been round there immediately.
3. Why is Jake in the clear? He is quite clearly an accessory.
4. Where's Little Mo been?
5. Why doesn't Winston get a bigger part?

Thank you.

BlackKat
14-11-2005, 21:10
1. How did the Queen Vic become Sharon and Dennis's to sell?

Chrissie admitted that she forged the documents. Sharon then automatically assumed it was hers and sold it. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she went to see a soliciter and got it all sorted out there. For all she knew Den left the Vic to Keith Miller.

parkerman
14-11-2005, 21:13
If Den didn't leave a will, the Queen Vic would be shared between Chrissie, Sharon, Dennis and Vicki, so what gives Sharon the right to sell in unilaterally?

BlackKat
14-11-2005, 21:15
Well Chrissie can't inherit because that would mean she'd profited from the crime. I assume Dennis agreed with Sharon and they sold it together. And no one cares about Vicki,

And also they just wanted to get the Mitchells into the Vic as fast as possible in order to annoy the audience to death.

LOVED Phil at the end telling Ian what he's just done, Phil should know he's dealt with people like Johnny all his life. Ian thinks he is just doing a business deal with Johnny, when in fact he's just signed his soul to the devil as they say.
Ian drove me nuts he didnt listen to Jane when she told him to let it all go and dont start anything, so what does he do winds Phil up by going to Johnny, winds them up by having a quizz night the same night as Sams/the pub reopening party.
He's cruising for a bruising, and it serves himself right for not listening to Jane.

Considering she is clearing off this week, how would Sam be allowed to escape to Brazil? Even though she is on bail, her movement is still restricted as she hasn't been let-off the charges brought against her. The Police and co would have confiscated her passport so she would have to get a fake passport created to escape abroad. Also if she did somehow flee the UK, as soon as she returns she would be arrested by the cops straight away (or as soon as they find her) and would be put behind bars immediately.

here we go again, Phil snarling, showing his teeth, having a go at Ian, Minty (who had nothing to do with the Mitchells for the last year) jumping through hoops. Can the storywriters not come up with anything else for the character. I was sick of it before and he is only back 2 weeks and I've had enough already. There are other characters to explore in this soap, Juley and Ruby for instance.

Florijo
15-11-2005, 20:05
Ian was funny when he was telling Peter he should know the answers. :D Ooh, was that Jakes's money that Darren has got hold of? Interesting.

I agree with you no1abbafan about Phil, although I'd rather not explore Juley and Ruby as I don't like them together and I hate Juley.

BlackKat
15-11-2005, 20:08
I like Ruby and Juley as well. I think they go well together.

I liked the Moon scenes -- thought the thing with the money being thrown out was a bit stupid though. Also a bit confused as to why Jake didn't take it with him. And Jake is like a yo-yo -- I figured he'd be planning to go for good, then come back for Nana's funeral and end up staying or something. But it sounded like he was planning to go for a few weeks/months and then come back. Weird. Not complaining that he's coming back, but weird.

Phil is the only Mitchell I can stand, which is weird as he was the one I was least looking forward to coming back. Minty seems to have taken over Billy's role as ass-kisser. Where is Billy anyway?

Ian was totally out of line and he brought everything on himself. Wellard is such a cute dog, Liked the scene where he bit Ian. :rotfl:

Ian brought it all on himself, he thinks he's better than the Mitchells and Jane was right telling him that she's sick of the feud. He didnt need to go over and have a go at PHil, if he'd kept quiet he'd have had a quiz night and got one over on them. Instead he mouths off then takes it out on his own kids what a wimp.
Phil shouldnt bully, but he said he was going to make Ian feel how he made Sam feel, I know its childish to have that attitude.
Loved Nana moon and her curry night, she deserved a good night and all her dreams fulfilled, cant wait for kat too find out whats happening.

I really like the youngsters on EE like Darren and Peter. Ian line to Peter, "Come on Peter, you did Africa last term!" was so funny.

I hope Juley and Ruby is just a short term thing, I don't like Ruby anymore and I can't stand Juley. I'm not looking forward to the next few weeks as it is bound to be filled with Ruby/Juley and Wellard/Ian crap.

Ian is getting on my nerves with his whiney one upmanship with Phil and I am getting a bit tired of Phil's verbal abuse too..He was way too hard on his kids, and a CHEAPSTAKE !!!!

I am sort of looking forward seeing what JOHNNY has to say with Ruby and Juley's "blossoming" friendship..Never liked Juley from day one,, oh well. Now if it was GUS maybe I could deal with that, cos hes the nicer brother...

I am soo annoyed with the Mitchells, and their ridiculous belief that Sam is innocent and doesn't deserve any of it. She didn't murder Den, she shouldn't have to do time for that. But she did help cover the murder up, she did lie to the police and she didn't care about Den, Sharon, Dennis or even Zoe while she was doing it, all she cared about was getting her stupid fricking pub back. She let Zoe believe she was a murderer just so she continue blackmailing Chrissie. And she didn't even need the money Chrissie gave -- she went shopping with it. She did everything to serve her own ends. She deserves to go the prison because she did commit a crime, and who cares if it's going to be hard. It's supposed to be hard, that's the whole point.

Sooo true!! Sam is PATHETIC! It's her own stupid fault she's in this mess, she could have phoned the police straight away she had nothing to loose unlike chrissie + zoe. Plus the only reason she dug up the body was to spite chrissie and it backfired, if she left it alone nobody would have gone to jail.Even though she could be facing 4 years she would probly only serve 18months and she deserves to do a little time in jail at least. How the is sam the victim in all this!

Kim Medcalfe. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Don't ever come back. Stick to the singing dear. :moonie:

Poor episode(s) again. Gus should be the one getting put down, not Wellard. Wellard outacted most of the cast tonight, except Ian and Jane. :(

Ruby and Juley = a match made in gormless heaven.

Mitchells - boring.

Millers - boring.

Minty/Garry 'comic' double act /Naoma - boring.
Minty suddenly gives a toss about Samantha even though he did f-all when she was banged up. Give me a break EE.

Johnny - OK.

Pauline and Mr Benn - boring. Why doesn't Mr Benn take her into a clothes shop and into the changing rooms to go to a magical location....6 feet under in Walford Cemetery.

BlackKat
17-11-2005, 21:21
Still like Ruby and Juley, :D

This Wellard storyline is so boring I lost the will to live. But I liked Dawn's scenes in it. I guess they save a lot of money on Gus' wardrobe as well -- does he ever wear anything but those green overalls?

Minty is an arsehole, Sonia is annoying, Peggy has gone beyond annoying me and I now want to slip into a coma everytime she's on screen just to escape the pain.

I would get interested in the Phil vs Johnny, but it's only going to end with Johnny 'reforming' again in a few weeks, most likely with hugs all round, so I won't bother.

So I liked Ruby/Juley and Dawn, but that was it.

And I would have liked the Minty and Sam goodbye, but he didn't bat an eyelid when she was in prison so I just didn't buy it at all.

Florijo
17-11-2005, 21:33
It feels like one step forwards and two steps back with EE. They can do good drama but it is these 'filler' stories that still need work. I feel sorry for the guy who plays Gus, I really do, but Kate Harwood should just let him serve out his contract and then not renew it. I can't see the point in the character still sticking around. They just wheel him out every so often for a 'filler' scene or some rubbish storyline like this current one. I'm a big animal lover so I feel sorry for Wellard but the story is rubbish. :thumbsdow

Dawn, Juley, Ruby, Peggy, Phil, and Ian are annoying me now. :thumbsdow

I don't think Kim Medcalf is a bad actress. She is not great but she is hardly the worst on the show *naming no names*.

Yeah I preferred Daniella's Sam but I thought Kim was fine. I don't know if it was the actress or the writers but Daniella's Sam had a harder edge and was more gritty than Kim's Sam. For a lot of the time, Kim's Sam was kind of dumb.

the episode tonight was ok, i think sam's exit could have been a lot better like at the end she said something like 'goodbye walford' or smiled because she was finally out of it - because when she got arrested and was in the car and went 'gotcha' to chrissie, it was great - but her just crying about leaving was a bit boring and she didn't even get the themetune on her - it was just the stupid johnny/phil thing which really annoys me!
i like ruby and juley, they're really sweet but i just wish juley would talk a bit more normaler.
i like the whole wellard thing, it's really sweet - i like the friendship between gus and dawn - and i've always liked wellard and was cheering him on yesterday when he bit ian! was very glad when everyone walked out of the cafe - ian gets what he deserves!
i liked kat today, even though she was only in about 2 scenes - she seemed so much more happier and her old fiesty self - whereas before it was this depressing kat who was moping over alfie or wondering about stacey's alibi.

Views on last night.

Thank God that moany whiney creature called Sam Mitchell has gone. It's a shame it wasn't to gaol but at least she's gone.
I feel sorry for Ian. He was bitten by Wellard which can't be very pleasant. OK we all know what a nice chap Gus is, but I think Ian's got a point.
Phil and Peggy. It would be nice if they could catch the 'plane with Sam, but there you are...
Ruby and Juley. Don't know what to make of that at the moment. Could be an interesting combination. Perhaps they could both have their next date at an acting school.
Menacing Johnny is better than family Johnny.
Gary and Minty. OK, but they're not Laurel and Hardy.
Even though she only had a small part, Kat's presence dominates everybody around her. At the moment Jessie's too good for Eastenders.
And that leaves Pauline....hmm.....

Doesn't matter anyway. As soon as she steps back onto British soil again she would be likely to be arrested, so (even though this is EE) it would be very unlikely that she would come back to Walford for a long long time, if ever.

didn't they rob a gang though, and it was them that were after them, not the police - i think the gang had already carried out the robbery and then phil and grant robbed them and grant was disappearing from the gang rather than the coppers.... i think, but then my brain is mush at the mo lol

when Grant left, himself and phil had done a robbery which resulted in the car going into the thames... Phil was caught and Grant escaped.. he turn up 3 days later, snatched Courtney and left for Brazil... I almost certain they was a charge against him at the time of him leaving.. could be wrong there...

I think you are. :) The people after Grunt were some dodgy dealers they messed with. I can't remember it all either but the police definately weren't after Grunt or Phil.

Phew I'm right, that's a relief. :)

I'm not sure if the gang got locked up/went into hiding/dropped their rivalry with the Mitchells, but I know that the Mitchells were and still are in the clear.

I do know there was police involvement on this cause Sam, i think, rang the police and Grant pretended he got killed in the crash into the thames....
