Cor, my brain is sort of working still lol

It was apparently in that episode that the viewers nearly saw Daniellas nasal problem too!!

I do know there was police involvement on this cause Sam, i think, rang the police and Grant pretended he got killed in the crash into the thames....

Don't think so. She arrived with the Police seconds after the car crashed into the Thames.

I think Grant may have had some charges against him actually, but Beppe destroyed the evidence and subsequently got sacked from the Police force on this. :searchme:

Someone check the EE website. There's a very comprehensive storyline guide on there.

"Richie" why was Mel Owens thrown in the pokey?Wasn't it a murder charge ??? I seem to recall it had something to do with her hubby or ex hubby Steve... And I do remember her looking over her shoulders walking to the tube wearing a very un attractive track suit,, any one else remember this exit with Mel ???

Richie_lecturer
18-11-2005, 15:19
Don't think she was under threat from Police. She was pregnant with Steve's baby when he got BBQed and when she left. I think she just wanted to start a new life in the other end of the country (I don't think she went abroad).

Jojo

She did leave with loads of cash.....and went away to sunnier climes according to the website :D

According to the episode guides Mel was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. I seem to remember it was because of something Steve was involved in before he died.

I was a bit disappointed with Sams exit last night.

last nights epsode was ok but Sam could of had a better Exit

soapyclean
18-11-2005, 16:15
It should've been a far better episode, they should change their writers. I really thought it was going to be interesting with Ian/Phil with the exchange, it was boring. As for Johnny, he'd have been more threatened with Sam telling the other top guys about him tattling to the police.

sean 4 eva
18-11-2005, 18:32
yea i agree to wat dddmac1 says they should have made the exit like janines only way better like the police r going after her and she escapes in the nick of time

No idea but in a realistic world she can't, because she would be arrested as soon as she returned to the UK.

Lingerie party! I actually hate Ian now. He is being so mean to poor Gus and Wellard. Everyone turning against him and Ian should stop being so pig-headed! Ruby and Juley are so sweet

hating ian! want the character killed off ... hopefully by gus - he needs a good storyline! i want wellard back! :crying: i love him and miss him already!
i love ruby and juley - they're so sweet (though ruby's lipstick  ) and now phil's found out it's gonna be fab!
lingerie party :rotfl: that was funny! but the tension between kat and mo ... it's not even like there sisters anymore!

JustJodi

Ian was being the JERK we all know he can be, I feel so darn sorry for Jane sticking up for him, most women would not tolerate a man like that.. I bet her husband David was the salt of the earth compared to doodyhead Ian.

OOOOOHHHH Phil caught Ruby and Juley snoggin,, yeaaaaa !!! Now hes got something to rub Johnnys nose in .

The lingerie party was a hoot, poor Yolande !

I was really impressed with how sweet Peggy was to Gus,,
Ian has not won any brownie points doing what he did this evening !!!! If he thinks Wellard and Gus made him a laughing stock,, well wait till tomorrow the whole town is gonna disown him. ( ok thats what I think ):moonie:

The show was not realy boring it just didn't have that certain something,, remember gang we all have had some lousy fillers .. this wasn't really that BAD compared to some of those dumb MOLFIE and Kalfie story lines we had to endure...:rotfl:

melanielovesdennisrickman

Hiya!!
I quite enjoyed tonight's episode,it wasn't very exciting,but i thought it was good.
I really hate Ian,poor Wellard and Gus!!
I really like Juley and Ruby together, they are soooooooo sweet, and also liked the end where Phil found out about Juley and Ruby.

Love

Am I the only one who doesn't think Ruby and Juley are sweet... I find him smarmy and her sickly sweet with him.. it will end in heartache for ruby and another "I am leaving my dad" story

Jojo
22-11-2005, 10:06
Am I the only one who doesn't think Ruby and Juley are sweet... I find him smarmy and her sickly sweet with him.. it will end in heartache for ruby and another "I am leaving my dad" story:cheer: Yay, someone who thinks the same as me!!! I totally agree and just find Juley so smarmy and a bit creepy to be honest - and isn't he supposed to be about 26/27 which would make him a fair bit older than Ruby - its all gonna end in tears.

Found tonight slightly turnoffable - how gullible was Gus to tell Ian, silly chap, I immediately said he's gonna call the cops and send them to the Slaters. Its when Ian behaves like this, that I dont get so uptight about Phil bullying him and remember that sometimes Ian really doesn't help himself sometimes.

Siobhan
22-11-2005, 10:14
Ian knows what it is liked to be bullied so what do it to other people... really bad EE to keep showing Ian like this.. it make people want to see him been bullied by Phil. Ian is a victim but he is not wining any sympathy from viewers here

Jojo
22-11-2005, 10:19
This is the problem, Jane knows what Ian is like deep down, but because of Ians past he feels like he has to be this way to earn any respect etc, and this backfires badly all of the time - I hope Jane will bring out the best in him though and put it to an end...

Siobhan
22-11-2005, 10:22
but it is always "don't you think it has gone to far" or "be the better man and apologise" but as soon as Ian does the decent thing, he turns it all back again, in this case getting the police to take Wellard away...

Jojo
22-11-2005, 10:24
yeah, this is the bit I don't understand with him, why do that after him and Gus had come to a sort of agreement. Ok I know that it was made to seem to him that all of the square had known where Wellard was, which would maybe feel like he wasn't in control of it all again, but why go that far..... it just makes the situation worse for him.

Siobhan
22-11-2005, 10:29
it was poor jane I felt sorry for... she honestly thought she was doing the right thing but everyone also felt they couldn't trust her, otherwise, they would have told her about the dog... she hasn't done anything wrong and yet she is been punished too...

Jojo
22-11-2005, 10:32
she is losing friends just because of who she lives with, which isn't fair on her, but like you said, they all obviously felt they couldn't trust her, otherwise they would have let her know about the situation. I think she is gonna be having a few words to say to Ian about all of it - poor woman, how embarrassed was she when Gus was outside.

Siobhan
22-11-2005, 10:37
I felt so sorry for her.. but you could also see how upset she was when she was told that the dog was in the Slaters all night.. I hope she gives Ian hell about this...

soapyclean
22-11-2005, 14:20
Hope Jane hits him with a frying pan for his whole attitude, she has tried her best to get him to take the high ground and be a real man about it. Instead he ends up making himself a bigger fool than he already is, so GO JANE HIT HIM!!!! :D

Siobhan
22-11-2005, 16:25
i liked ian but this has really made me hate him and now i wont have any sympathy when phil scares him

that is the sad part of this.. ian should have sympathy cause of the bullying but he is not winning that because of the way he behaves.. but then again his behaviour can be traced to the bullying he has recieved all his life

parkerman
22-11-2005, 16:38
Personally I still have sympathy for Ian. Being bitten by a dog is not a pleasant experience. And it's no good saying Wellard is a gentle dog. He obviously isn't. Supposing it had have been a child he bit, what would everyone say then?

lollymay
22-11-2005, 16:45
i think ian is taking it too far

melanielovesdennisrickman
22-11-2005, 17:43
Yeah,i think he is too,he's just doing this, because he can't get back at Phil, and he can let the dog be taken away,so he feels he has control in that.

I was very disappointed in the whole 'Honey Trap" episode. For it all to happen in one day is a bit of a stretch. So many story lines have dragged on (like the Rebecca/Chloe story) and to have this storyline open and close in two days is just pathetic. Could it be because the writers are on holiday and can't be bothered until the Christmas season?

Dutchgirl
22-11-2005, 20:15
I thought that Honey was a bit Little Mo"ish. Is that what happens if you like Billy????

ian  a fine, like what 200 quid at the most and he's worried about it! no one will go the cafe if some idiot dog-killer owns it, he's losing more money that way - what an idiot.
johnny is so evil - he should have told ruby about what juley has done - i can't actually remember the whole drugs in the club juley thing, lol
the honeytrap was a bit ... lame. hoeny was too innocent - you'd think they'd have a honeytrapper a bit more feisty. though think honey and billy would be quite good for each other - honey is very like little mo

littlemo
22-11-2005, 21:01
I thought that Honey was a bit Little Mo"ish. Is that what happens if you like Billy????

Yes Honey is a lot like Little Mo. I think Billy just goes for those types of women, innocent, sweet and pretty. I liked it when Phil, Gary and Minty made out that he owned his own business so that he could impress her. It was funny when Phil called Billy, Patrick, as well.

As for Martin and Sonia, what is wrong with Sonia. I used to love her character, but she's being really awful to Martin and that makes me very angry. Everyday he is trying his best to make an effort, and everyday Sonia knocks him back. If she wanted to keep her husband, she would try to make more time for him.

I hope thats the last we see of her aswell but she's a new character I think :( Just what EE needs, another littlemo. And I agree Ian is pathetic, why does he keep changing his mind about what he is going to do with Wellard. He should just leave the poor dog alone!

22-11-2005, 22:11
I can not believe than johnny was so rude to Juley , so Juley did drugs before- but I am sure that he has learned his lesson (about the drugs) it was so funny when Honey was chatting up the wrong person.. But than poor Partick(sp)

littlemo
23-11-2005, 00:26
I cannot believe that johnny was so rude to Juley , so Juley did drugs before- but I am sure that he has learned his lesson (about the drugs)

I think Johnny would probably have behaved that way with any man Ruby was seeing. He just can't stand not being in control. He needs to understand that he cannot dictate to people what they should do. Ruby's 17, she's not a baby. And he says he trusts her so he should let her make her own decisions.

I feel he was unfair to Juley, but if he was doing it for unselfish reasons, I could kind of understand, I don't think anybody would want their daughter going out with a drug dealer. But he clearly wasn't doing it just because he cared about Ruby, it was to prove that he knew what was best for her, and she wasn't capable of making decisions for herself. And of course to humilliate Juley in front of her. If he cared he would have told Ruby what he knew, and not carried out the ridiculous charade.

People do change and Juley seems to be making a fresh start, and he is becoming a character I like.

Jane had convinced Ian to drop the charges.. she told gus he was going to do it but then later in the pub in said he couldn't drop the charges cause he would be fined for wasting police time and resources... he has a point.. he said why should he be fined and bitten???

I honestly don't think EE has gotten any better even with the Mitchell's - THe Ian/Wellard is a pile of ???????, Yolande setting a honey trap - get real, and Phil and Johnny "bickering" is such rubbish. Can't the script writers come up with anything better for the Phil character. I was starting to like Ian but they are turning him back into the wally he was before. rubbish rubbish rubbish - IMHO

I enjoyed last night's episode.
Honey seems really nice, and i hope Billy and Honey get together,Billy deserves some happiness, after all that has happenned lately.
I am happy Nana won the poker,i mean it was kind of predictable, but still it was quite sweet.
I also wonder how long Darren can keep this up,surely Keith and Rosie are bound to find out soon.
And i am really like Juley and Ruby as a couple, but Johnny should accept that his daughter is not a kid anymore, she is a young woman!!

parkerman
25-11-2005, 09:18
What do you mean? What was he up to? He was pretending he had a paper round to explain how he managed to get a new mobile phone.

I know Johnny is perhaps not going about it in the best way, but you've got to have some sympathy with him, seeing his daughter going out with a known drug dealer. What father would be happy about that and just let it go?

What do you mean? What was he up to? He was pretending he had a paper round to explain how he managed to get a new mobile phone.

I know but must have got the money for phone somewhere, why was acting all wierd?

He found Jake and Chrissie's money. He's got £5000 at least.

BlackKat

It'll be less than 5 grand. Jake gave Alfie some to take Nana to Normandy, and I think he took some out before he left as well.

Johnny is just creepy. *shudder*

Dennis and Sharon were...happy. That's just not normal. Stop it.

Naomi is not as boring as she used to be. She's gotten more natural as well, where as before it was painfully obvious that she was acting and that the actress was painfully aware of the fact that was she acting.

Martin is now just as annoying as his wife. I no longer care who's right or wrong, they should both just get run over by a train. Dismembered. Put an end to it once and for all.

Um...was there anything else in todays episode?

Oh, yeah. Honey. She's okay I suppose. Didn't like the storyline she was brough it on, but the character's decent.

Johnny is definetely creepy. That whole Juley stuff was out of order. Although I suppose a lot of father's are reluctant at letting their daughters grow up. At least he's allowing her to see Juley. But to be honest, I'm surprised Ruby hasn't walked out yet, she's very head strong, and should see from that hoax friendly display, that it's an act. She should know her dad better than that. I think she's just trying to think positively.

Also I couldn't believe Johnny's attitude towards Sharon, her and Ruby have a friendly conversation, and all of sudden he goes crazy. What exactly is he mad about? I know he doesn't like his business being intruded on, but if Stacey had said it, I'm sure he wouldn't have reacted in that way. It was just friendly advice.

As for Sharon and Dennis. I'd say them being happy together is all we are going to have, until Christmas. No spoilers allowed! I know lol.

Naomi, I am starting to like her. She seems friendly enough. But to be honest I think I would have told Gary that it wasn't going to happen. It feels like she's leading him on, it's obviously she's not really interested in him, in that way.

Once again the continuity on EE goes up the swanney.
State of the art CCTV one day, crap the next.

Just watched the episode just now, and the writing was a bit better, however it was let down by the current crapness of the storylines. Ruby and Juley zzzzzzzzzzz; Gary/Minty/Naomi zzzzzzzzzz; Honey zzzzzzzzzzz.

I thought it had aswell because i missed the episode and read about it on the EE website and I saw the omnibus earlier and found that it hadn't lost it's sound, the CCTV was picking up the sound from the music and Johnny and Juley's conversation couldn't be heard by Ruby because of that.

BlackKat
28-11-2005, 20:35
Oh, whatever. So, suddenly, Naomi is so overcome by her feelings for Sonia that she avoids her all weekend, ignores her in the street and packs her things to leave. Er...since when? Everything was fine last week, they were doing their usual boring thing and suddenly it's too much?

And "I don't know what I want anymore." Please.

There has been no believable build up to this - no indication that either of them have feelings for each other past friendship. And it's not exactly a deep friendship anyway -- they study together. We haven't seen any indepth conversations, any bonding -- in fact, we haven't even seen the beginnings of their friendship, Naomi just appeared one day as Sonia's apparent best friend.

Honey is slightly weird, I still love Dawn, Stacey rocks, and there was nothing else of interest in this episode.

When Billy and Honey first met, he mentioned he was seperated. He was still wearing his wedding ring, so she knew he was married. And even though we haven't seen either of them say anything to Honey, I can only assume it's common knowledge.

I always thought Sonia was a bright intelligent woman. How comes she now has no idea why Martin is "off" with her? And how is it that after a rather full heterosexual life, she suddenly, as everyone on here has said, after no build up, snogs Naomi. It's all just so inplausible.

Well the whole Naomi Sonia thing is not that unbeleivable, apparantly good mates as in girls can get emotionally attached, so much so, in letting them beleive that they love eachother, which they do. If girls bond like that( even when they have boyfriends) they could get very jealous of other friends as well.

I'm sorry for Martin though.

I think that it is strange, though to have someone who has shown no homosexual tendancies at all suddenly actively snog a friend.

I do agree that some, younger, girls may go through a phase of being unsure of their sexuallity, but for someone who is married and has had a child to suddenly start experimenting seems more than a little artificial.

I'll save my judgement of the Naomi/Sonia thing to later tonight, but I really don't think I will enjoy it. If any of you are old enough like me to remember the storyline with Michael Cashman, that was brilliantly done and very well handled by EE at the time. A lot of pressure groups were singing its praises at the time. IMO, EE haven't managed to repeat that sucessfully ever since, well Bella and Dinnie was quite well done, but Tony & Simon was poor and Kelly & Zoe's was absolutely dreadful. I hope to be proved wrong this time though.

Last nights episode proves that the return of the Magnificent Mitchells  was a flash in the pan. EE has returned to its boring self again. Sack the producers and so-called storywriters.

Richie_lecturer
29-11-2005, 14:28
I didn't realise it had improved when the Mitchells returned. Sure they gave the show a bit of ''oomph' but the writing was the same old same old and the plots went round and round in circles, wrecking characters in the process just to welcome them back, i.e. Johnny & Ian.

I'd welcome a production cast clear out, though I still have faith in KH2 and JY to deliver in 2006. Some of the ideas and characters joining look promising, but if they don't sort out the fundamental problems with the script editing, writing, etc they will still be in a mess.

I don't actually see it from that direction, though I do agree it was a bit ham. I actually cannot believe the writers expect us to care or worry about Sonia and Martin pulling further apart. I mean they had no chemistry in the first place, and, well, marrying the person who got you up the duff and killed your fiance is hardly realistic is it?

Sonia and Naomi storyline is awful as is the Juley and Ruby relationship. Stacey was hilarious tonight i'm glad she is back.

EE was on a role with Grant back, Chrissie getting caught but now it is gone back to being back.

I think Sonia needs to start having fun and so does Martin, maybe Martin can have an affair or hook up with Dawn. And Sonia can join Pauline at the old people's home both are such boring characters.

Naomi hasn't been a great addition at all. Honey is such an airhead character.

Well. Slightly better. Sonia is such a selfish bitch, I wanted to slap her everytime she was onscreen. Doesn't she think about anyone other than herself?

Felt sorry for Alfie. :(

Honey is beginning to really annoy me. She's a useless twit - we get it. Move on please.

The writing was better than last nights -- how the scenes flowed etc.

I thought that it was a lot better than yesterday(wich wouldn't take much anyway)!!

Sonia was annoying me too,i mean she is sooooo selfish!!
I hope Joe and Pauline get together, and get to be happy, because when Pauline is with Joe she is soooo much nicer!!
Honey is getting on my nerves,i wish Alfie would be manager of the Vic again, but i totally understand why he turned the job down, poor Alfie and Nana!!
Also i like Juley and Ruby together, but it seems like they sort of break up every single episode, and then get back together again, and try to get Johnny to like them!!

joe and pauline are sweet, but when joe said 'ooooo, that's pretty!' well he just sounded well weird!

Is ******* (rhymes with plastered) a swear word? It's in the dictionary. Depends on the context though so you have a point, however less 'little kids' would watch Corrie so less of an impact imo. :)

Just Kerstmis ( Christmas ) since neither of us have kids that Sinterklaas is more associated with,,,

It was hard watching it tonight , Alfie is looking horrid !!!! He should at least share this with Kat instead of biting her head off !!!!!:(

..and wooden actors yes.[/QUOTE]

Natalie Cassidy is not a wooden actress. She is actually very good and has won both public and critic awards.

I don't know where all this Naomi and Sonia is rubbish and crap and ridiculous and all the rest of the bad press is coming from. Sonia is desperately unhappy and confused about her marriage, Naomi is confused about her sexuality. The trouble is, that the press made such a big thing about it and it wasn't like that. This storyline is to split up Sonia and Martin, which personally I think is a shame, and to give us more information about Naomi.

People seem so quick these days to slag off characters and storylines before we have even seen the story. Let it evolve and then slag it off.

I do not even think Naomi knew she was bi sexual either,, I always pictured her as a GOOD TIME PARTY GIRL,, never hinted she swings both ways....I think the word I used yesterday was DISJOINTED, cos nothing that happened made any sense to me at all,, :searchme:

The thing is you could understand it if it had been a big shock kiss nobody knew was coming. But these days when storylines are announced in newspapers sometimes months before, everybody knew it was coming so the least they could do is have some build up.

sarah21
30-11-2005, 11:53

To each his own, but I don't agree with you. The script wasn't marvellous but it was well acted and I've expected something to happen for quite some time. So, for me there was a build up.

Naomi has been very close to Sonia since she arrived and just because she hasn't told anyone about her confused sexuality it doesn't mean it hasn't been there. Naomi said herself she has wondered but didn't know for definite until she kissed Sonia. Both girls are unhappy at the moment and we know Sonia isn't gay, she simply responded to someone showing her affection at a time when she particularly low. She soon drew back.

Both girls then were trying to deny what had happened. Sonia by going back to Martin and trying to make that work and Naomi looking for comfort after being rejected with Gary. It makes perfect sense to me.

It's about time we learnt more about Naomi. I think she is going to be a good character, much better than selfish up herself Dawn and she is definitely played by a much better actress too.

Kat's line to Alfie on the bench was really forced. Jessie Wallace does this really weird thing sometimes, she puts the emphasis on the wrong words, and she makes her voice really low and sort of gasps out the line. It just sounds like she's about to have an asthma attack. She's a great actress usually, but on occassions, she just totally goes over the top. Alfie's little resting his head on her shoulders were overdone as well.

The musical montage halfway through was random and out of place, just like the Sharon and Dennis storyline. I'm sorry, but that was boring, and crap, and predictable. And I find the fact that they couldn't stop having sex long enough to pop round to Pauline's and say hi, a little weird, and very self-involved. It's not even like they've been saving themselves for marriage either -- they've done it enough times to take a break. Didn't they need to go out for milk up something. Very bad I thought. And also, I don't need that much information about their sex life. In fact, where Sharon is concerned, I need no information concerning her sex life.

Garry/Naomi/Sonia/Martin...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Honey and Billy...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Edit: Forgot to mention Dawnie! I hated Darren's girlfriend, she was an exceptionally bad actress, and I love Dawn's smackdown on her. If I was Rosie or Keith I'd have thrown her out the house.

Dreadful episode.
Considering Dennis is noted for walking around without a top on, I think his reaction to Mo and Pauline was a bit ott.
Would a doctor tell a complete stranger in a pub about one of her patients? I don't think so.
Martin/Sonia/Naomi/Garry...give me a break. Perhaps the shame will be too much for all of them and they'll leave the Square. We can but hope.
I thought the only good thing was Dawn realising that her and Keith had the same outlook on life really...oh, that and no Juley and Ruby.

I enjoyed tonight's episode, we are getting to see a nicer side of Naomi. Despite her feelings for Sonia, she still tried to make things right between Sonia and Martin. That was really great, and she didn't have to do it. I do think Martin and Sonia have a long way to go before they get back to the way things were, if they ever do. But I really hope they don't split up, because I love them together.

I think it's good Gary patched things up with Naomi, they are all friends in the flat, which is good, and it would be a shame for it to be spoilt.

I think Billy and Honey make a great couple!
