Lawrence seems very gay to me a posh older gay man bit of a joke the writers trying to make this queen bisexual. Lawrence is gay and the writers blew an opportunity to give an older gay male character a story line.

What I find strange is, that in a small village like that there's already 3 gay men-2 of them openly. No lesbians?
Finn is boring he has no personality the writers have wasted him. The writers do not know what to do with Finn he is too perfect and he needs his own storyline. The show treats Aaron and Finn aa inferior to the lesbians and heterosexual characters. Notice Aaron and Finn have no happy love life. People say soaps need conflict but Aaron and Finn are victims of homophobia. I doubt there are any gay people on the Emmerdale staff.

Troubled Laurel Dingle makes a scene at her mother's wake in Emmerdale tonight (July 20).

The recovering alcoholic is supported by her estranged husband Marlon and her other ex Ashley Thomas as she attends Hilary's send-off, but the day ends up being more difficult than she could have imagined.

Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) struggles when she gets a frosty reception from her sister Caroline, and things get even worse when her nosy sibling jumps to the wrong conclusion that she is pregnant since she isn't drinking at the wake.

When the gossip gets too much for Laurel, she loudly snaps at Caroline and ends up revealing much more than she would have wanted in front of all the guests. How will her family react?

Rubbish. A small village with 3 gays (2 openly so) and the show is homophobic? Just because they don't get to live a quiet, simply dull happy soap-world existence does not make the shows producers homophobic. Would we rather they just bimbled off happily in to a dull, passive existence like Betty? On the contrary, these stories show a willingness by the producers to put gay characters into the same kind of plots / scenes as their straight compatriots. Surely this is the very opposite of homophobia?

Finn is boring the writers refuse to give him an edge he is too weak for Aaron. Robert and Aaron are equals they are both obnoxious and also have fiery personalities. Aaron and Robert are alpha males.

Yes I disagree so what Emmerdale has a few gay characters but what do they do? Ali and Ruby have no storyline at the moment they are just there. AAron and Finn have not had a loving relationship at all.

Later on, Aaron wakes up tied to the radiator. He attempts to weaken the cord around his wrists when Robert returns with food and water. It quickly turns into a heated argument as they discuss Katie. Robert tries to remain calm but ends the conversation by pulling out a gun. Later, Robert walks over to the gun, picks it up and points it at Aaron, who doesn't look away knowing this could be the end. Beginning to shake, Robert slowly pulls the trigger when the door slams open and there's a bang.
    Has Robert SHOT Aaron?

July is turning into an unlucky month for Emmerdale vet Paddy Kirk, as he finds himself at the centre of another life-or-death situation in tonight's dramatic double bill.

Paddy (Dominic Brunt) makes a dangerous decision when he chooses to go looking for missing Aaron Livesy, who has been attacked and tied up by Robert Sugden in a remote holiday cottage.

Turning detective, Paddy puts the pieces of the puzzle together and figures out where Aaron (Danny Miller) is - but he's totally unprepared for the explosive scene that greets him when he arrives.

By the time Paddy turns up, Robert (Ryan Hawley) has already returned to the cottage and is preparing to silence Aaron forever following failed attempts to reason with him.

With Aaron still threatening to expose his many secrets, a shaken Robert is ready to use a gun to get rid of him once and for all. However, when Paddy comes bursting in, Robert is startled and accidentally fires the weapon straight at him...
