I think we're supposed to believe that while Dean was out of Walford, he stayed local and met Shabnam in a club in Poplar, when she was out with Carly and Dawn. I don't buy it; had Dean been living with Stan, why had he not tried to intervene between him and Shirley before last year? They must have heard about Heather, which might have been a way in. Stan's also supposed to have known he's dying for 3 years; should this not have led to Dean's return if he was local all along, so Stan could ensure that Dean had someone when he was gone? Also, Carly and Dawn were quite in your face and suspicious people - would Shabnam really have been able to sleep with someone in club toilets without them noticing? I think Carly would have said something if she saw her brother who she hadn't seen in a while on a night out, or Dawn would have teased Shabam if she went AWOL on a night out.

Actually, scratch all that, Carly went abroad in early 2008, did she not? This obviously didn't happen before Carly left as Shabnam would have been heavily pregnant/been giving birth by the time she left.

Shirley being Mick's mother seemed a desperate attempt for an OMG moment, but at least that was credible, as was Buster being Dean's father too. This is Hollyoaks territory, and rather than copying Kat/Zoe story and Little Mo's story, we're now having a variation on Rebecca Fowler. I presume Royah will find her way back to Shabnam, despite having been adopted.

I remember thinking there was a contradiction in the dialogue on Friday; I'll watch it again and post back if I find it.

If Dean raped Shabnam I think it's an ingenious addition to the rape storyline and has obviously been planned from the start because Shabnam's been hiding something from the moment she arrived back in the square. This is one of the reasons I do think Dean spiked her drink and raped her.

I would prefer that Roya isn't found because I agree that would be too unlikely and reminiscent of Rebecca Fowler.

One thing Ive been wondering is-If Shabnam
does start to remember things , goes to
police and they find her story credible could
it be case where hypnosis is used to try
to bring more memories of event to surface
or would the fact that she was drugged ??
at the time make the procedure unworkable.

Im all for Dean getting his just desserts
but not sure about involving Shabnam.
There were other ways of bringing
baby into.story .We may still find there
    are other victims.

Because Shabnam was several months pregnant when she left, and not showing much.

I don't think anything remembered under hypnosis would be accepted as evidence in court to be honest as it can be unreliable.

Shabnam might not have been raped as this is just supposition on my part. Elsewhere on the internet the majority opinion seems to be that she wasn't raped, but then Dean inexplicably has a lot of fans and apologists. If his fans can't accept he's lying after his interrogation (the copper definitely knew he was protesting too much) or his triumphant and smug performance in the pub afterwards I give up!

well its a credible suppostion anyway.
People do tend to judge by whether they
like characters or not and not by whether
their actions are good or bad. Also
sometimes who the victim is affects some
peoples opinion-it shouldnt - but it does.

    It seems from.recent interview with
actress playng Shabnam- that bits have
been filtered in to make some sort of
    past connection with Dean plausible.

Possibly if there really is a majority of
viewers thinking that Dean is innocent
    - then with soap logic- they may end up
    writing the opposite.
So we can be rocked / shocked and all
    Parkerman&Alans favourite descriptions.

Just hoping Deans come-uppance is more
than that meted out by Mick -so far!!

Yes, I think the way the story turns out will happen in an explosive episode that will rock the Square and the lives of its inhabitants will never be the same again.
