I wish I had when I saw the beds on the treatment ward. Those remote controlled ones that go up and down, the back and knee bits alter with memory foam mattresses

I don't know why, should've done really. I haven't been well all week. I'll see the doctor tomorrow if I still feel ill.

Last night I was so out of it I remember telling a friend some things that I wish I hadn't. Oh well, can't take it back now.

Abi, I am really worried about you at times. I wish you had taken advantage of the nice beds on the treatment ward and got yourself properly checked out. You will find coping with your studies difficult if you are not well. :)

Do you think you might have caught a chill by sleeping with the window open? That can make my neck ache sometimes. Hope you are feeling better soon. :)

I always sleep with the window open, even in winter. Probably just slept funny.

i always sleep with my window open too. everyone else i know thinks its weird!

Good to knwo you're feeling slightly better Abigail, some improvement :)

Ahh what a random day!

Had my hair done and I'm now a blondie lol
Went to town, came home and took my other friend to town as she needed something to drink for the party, bumped into Adam. So gave him a lift home.. nothing happened.

And I haven;t long got home from our end of results house party... lets jsut say it was eventful and I have every ounce of respect possible for all the paramedics/doctors/nurses who constantly clean up the vomit of others. It's sooo not a nice job!

Abigail
20-06-2009, 10:34
Kirsty that's a rather sober, grammatically correct post considering you've been out drinking :p

I'm going to a kids birthday party soon. Oh joy. There's nothing better I want to do with the next two hours than watch screaming five year olds run around

...You should've seen me at like.. the start of the night. I was a wreck because I kept playing drinking games haha.

Ommggg what a day! I am SOOOO happy now :)

I've been in work all day and was supposed to finish at 8, but ended up finishing at half 9 because it was so busy! So I got home with a pounding headache and feeling shattered but I had to go see my Mum and Dad about cars.. again!

They were saying how they'd been out all day to look at cars but none of them were any good so I told them not to worry and if a car is meant for me then I'll get it at some point and then my Dad went "so you don't want the fiesta that's out in the car park for you then?! Oommggg! I wa sjumping everywhere and everything! I love it! It's sooo pretty :D:D so now I'm really happy and I'm going to insure my car and take her out for a little drive. Brum brum :D

I am no longer a teenager! Had a nice morning, opened my presents got some nice clothes and a few dvds, money of my Nana, and some new trainers.

Gonna just chill out the rest of the day me and my dad have decided we dont have to do anything as its my birthday and its fathers day.

Yesterday was good, went and investigated a new pub thats opened in Burnage, was really done up nice and cheap and had the gaelic football on. I got 2 free drinks of the barman as well, one for my birthday today and one for wearing my Mayo shirt. I shall be going back there!

Happy birthday Vicky :).. even though your birthdya was technically yesterday now :)

Had my last exam today.. and it didn;t even go to badly this time!
Went to egt my tyres changed but they ahd to order them in so I have to go back tomorrow.
I fell asleep, I don't know why I jsut went realllly tired. Then I ended up being 15 minutes late for work because the clock on my phone had stopped at some point, and the radio said it was 20 past 5, but my phone said 5:00 and me being half asleep thought I was hearing things, then when I thought it was like 20 to 6.. it was actually 6, so I had to ring work and explain why I'd be late haha but my manager didn't mind.

She told me earlier that she's looking at leaving me in charge for 2 days when she's on holiday because Adam needs his 2 days off and she needs someone else to take charge... I'm terrified lol. I think it would be great experience for me since it's management I'd like to go into, plus it would look good on my cv... but I don't think I could do it :/ hmm

It is a beautiful day today in Edinburgh. Work was fine, no one died today!

My eldest son has morphed by into his usual laid back self now that his exams are over and life is good.

All I need now is for Andy Murray to win the 4th set of his first round match - that guy McKendick (or whatever) is giving him a harder time than expected I think!

Today i've done the washing and hung it out. Going to bring it in, in a bit. Started tidying my room which i haven't yet finished. Mucked about on the net and had a friend round so we were out the back. Weather is fantastic and luckily my hayfever isn't being such a big pain today as it normally is!

My mum was in tears earlier on cause of her driving instructor (she's llearning to drive HGV's cause of her line of work) and he doesn't give them any complaments it's all bad stuff. I asked her if she could change the instructor and she's not sure. But she's sitting her test on Thursday and i hope she passes!

My book list has grown again. The sad thing is that I actually want to buy these books because they're interesting, not because they will help with my course :ninja: That's so geeky.

How can a 180 page book cost thirty pounds? That's extortionate considering a 600 pages textbook is fifty quid.

Think I'm going to start playing the lottery

Maybe the premium bonds Abigail; that way you can't lose more than the book's worth trying to win something

Abigail
24-06-2009, 17:07
I have some premium bonds actually. Might cash them in and buy some books. I've never won anything on them :searchme:

I've just made some ice cream. Been a busy day. Had to go to Maisie's school for a wildlife garden opening and picnic. It wasn't as exciting as it sounds. The headmistress is very patronising, she talked to adults as if they were in primary school.

Kim
24-06-2009, 17:22
Newer bonds tend to win bonds more often; maybe get those out and put some different ones in. My dad's had some bonds since he was young as my gran got them for him. He's never won anything on them but he put some in back in October and has won on those.

I'm looking through some photos on facebook of a cousin I've never met and didn't know existed until a few weeks ago. It's strange looking at him and knowing he's family. He looks so much like my uncle and my granddad. It's freaky because none of the cousins I know look like granddad.

My uncle John was a bit of a ladies man in his youth and has at least 6 kids now (four of whom I do know and see, oldest is a year younger than me). This 'new' cousin is in his 30s and also has a brother to the same mother. My mum thinks there's at least one more kid that she doesn't know about.

Thinking about my granddad has just upset me :crying: I haven't seen him for five years because of family troubles. My nanna is an evil twisted woman who stopped everyone seeing him, even his own children and the doctor. Imagine a vicious Alsatian fiercely guarding a piece of meat from another alsation, teeth bared, snarling etc. and you're halfway there to what she's like.

End of 3 very hectic weeks at work tomorrow, I hope things slow down a bit from then on. Still feeling quite upset about my sister-in-law's nasty emails on the weekend, had a very insincere message today that she is sorry but you can tell she does not really mean it. Always thought I got on with her, that is why I feel so shocked and hurt. Luckily I can avoid her, most of the contact was by email and I will not communicate with her in that way again. Feeling quite tired which does not help the mood I guess. All I need is a nice sunny weekend to perk me up again :cheer:

Shiv, I hope you colleague is okay.

Have a fab holiday!

Di Marco, best wishes to your grandpa :)

Kirsty, this might not help much but remember that everyone is self concious at these dos and most people will be more worried about how they look than how you do.

Wear something that makes you feel good, not self conscious if at all possible. Smile and you will look confident on the outside even if you are shaking inside.

My dad's 70th a few weeks ago was at a large hotel in Glasgow where a prom was going on. I noticed that 90% of the girls were almost crippled by 10.30 pm because they were wearing new, extremely high shoes - the only ones who could walk let alone dance were the ones who took their shoes off!

So - wear comfortable shoes and have a great time!!

It started as this is the last week of school before the holidays and kids get to take in board games to play Marley decided to take in operation. While we were getting it out of the cupboard we found Monopoly and we haven't played it in ages so after she had been fed and scrubbed we had a game, pure belly laugh fun much better than the tv.

Theres lots of birds and ducklings
Erm hedgehogs which are very cute, I dont mind them, cleaning them out and weighing them
theres foxs and badges and rabbits, loads really

Yesterday I had to pull the heads of the mealworms so they could feed some of the birds and today I worked with the guy who cut the dead de-frosted rabbits in half so they were ready to feed some of the animals later

Ugh ugh and ugh.
I'm annoyed. Had a pants day.
I feel lost. It sounds silly but I don't feel like there's anything for me around here anymore.

People ask me what I'm going ot do in September, and when I tell them I don't know, they look shocked and dissapointed and then ask "well aren;t you going to Uni?" "why aren;t you going to Uni?" and just look at me like I',m stupid.

Work annoyed me, one of the guys can jsut be completely up himself and says to me things like "do you want to help now or are you going to pretend like you're doing work behind the bar?" it winds me up because I work damn hard in that place!

Guys just wind me up in general. I won't even go into that.

Ugh, if work came to me tomorrow and asked me to go and help train in another restaurant in England or somewhere else.. I'd go there and then.

I just don't know what to do, or where to go.
Sorry, rant over.

Aww, Kirsty, perhaps the heat is getting to people and they are less sensitive to other people's feelings (your's in this case) but I am sure they don't mean it in a bad way. I hope your ok today Kirsty - people can be extremely harsh sometimes. To me, society seems to have a set of expectations, such as going to uni, having 2.4 children etc and if you don't conform to them, you'll get some weird looks and be judged, which is completely and utterly wrong. It really isn't very nice and you have my sympathies.

I hope your feeling better today. :)

I'm glad your getting better now Trinity.

It's absolutely boiling today! I am off to a gathering with some friends later. We are all going to be playing Guitar Hero over my friend's house on the PS3 - bring it on :D :D I've been practicing these past few days. Thing is, he's always like it and then says "he's joking" but you know full well there's some degree of truth in it. I know it's not true anyways because I work hard in that place.

I don't feel much better today, I have work later and I'm just not in the mood.
I'm sort of mad at myself, I'm 18 now and I jsut feel like maybe I should grow up and be more mature.
Just feel like I'm looking for everything in the wrong place.

Trinity
01-07-2009, 15:55
It is really hard being 18.

If you go to uni then you get to put off making any really hard decisions for 3 -4 years. If you don't go to uni then for some reason people expect you to have a plan.

Noone changes between the last week of school and the next week.

Kirsty, it is normal to feel lost. You have left school, you are officially no longer a child. You have grown up and discovered what noone tells you.

Adults are really no different to children.

You do not automatically know what to do, there is no 'right path' to take

From my life experience noone knows what they will eventually end up doing at 18.

Perhaps it is not so much a case of looking for things in the wrong places but rather looking for the wrong things?

That kind of sounds strange, but many people are so caught up with looking for something that they don't always see what is there.

I think that you need to give yourself a break, think about what you want think about the many paths that can take you there. Remember that in life there is only one final destination - and that what it is really about is enjoying the journey.

And as for the guy at work - you know he is a jerk.

Abbie

I wish that were true Trinity about going to uni means I get to put off making hard and bog decisions for another 3 years. Cos even though Im going to Uni my dad wants me to have a plan. Hes been annoying me for the past year now. hes the most irritating little man I have ever met! He asks me the other day if I had started to look into jobs yet!!
And on my birthday he brought up what I wanted to do and so we argued a bit. My mum spoke to me later that night and we both had a bit of a cry. She told me just to make up anything and lie just to shut him up and get him off my back. Hes so annoying. And then he says he doesnt want to argue and well he shouldnt bring it up! Hes doing my head in and its only going to get worse the next couple of years, at least I'll be at uni away from him

Trinity
01-07-2009, 17:16
I don't know what your plans are Abbie, or what your degree is going to be in, but you need to tell your dad that your priority right now is to get as good a degree as you can.

When you are in your final year you will have to apply for jobs - right now that isn't and cannot be your priority.

A good degree can open doors.

There are many jobs available to people with good degrees, regardless of subject:

graduate trainee in large companies such as M&S
civil service
accountancy trainee etc, etc

I could be wrong but it sounds like your dad didn't go to university himself, and perhaps he cannot see a career path from whatever subject it is that you are studying.

I didn't plan it at the time, but in my last year at Uni I applied to the civil service as a graduate. At twenty one I had a team of people working for me who had up to 35 years service.

Maybe he just needs to know that you will have options?

Abbie
01-07-2009, 17:31
Your half right and Im not surpirsed youve managed to nearly understand my dad cos hes so flaming obvious and he wont back off

Apparently his dads advice to him was to work in trade of some sort so he did. BUT he got his degree when I was about 6 and the started to teach part time, and then we moved here so he could teach full time at the college I just left
The fact that hes a teacher at a college I think is part of the problem cos he thinks he knows it all and hes all like what kind of path are you going to go down? you need to start doing some research, what jobs are out there? I just feel like he puts too much pressure on me and its not in a dead mean way but I dunno its just the way he does it which makes it even worse than if he were a mean dad.
So he did get a degree but later on in his life and oh god I really dont know its like just cos he teaches and has some students that know what they want to do, but the thing is he makes out like all his students know but they dont! I have loads of friends who have no idea
Ive said to him, I have friends who dont know, I know people at uni who dont know, I know that unis help with things like this with jobs and all sorts, and after this speech I did throw in - will that shut you up. Just cos I was so annoyed and even after all this explaining and trying to get him to back off he wont, he still is nagging me to look. Its like he wants me to pick out a job now. theres no point, I may change my mind and I wont get my degree till like 3 years down the line.

I just dont know what to do anymore.

Trinity
01-07-2009, 17:48
It is hard being a parent, and the hardest bit is when you have to let go and let your child make their own decisions in life.

Your dad changed careers majorly midlife, and possibly wants you to think seriously about what you want well in advance so that you don't have to.

Unfortunately this won't work. People change, technology changes and jobs change. I have had 3 separate 'careers' in my life and few of my friends are still doing what they thought they wanted to do at 18. The only exceptions are the vet and the.. nope, sorry, the only exception is the vet.

I can kind of identify with your dad a bit, I have a son who is just about to go into his last year at school. I want him to think about what he wants to do really carefully, because I fell into the degree I did at Uni and didn't enjoy it at all. What I mean is I don't want him to make the same mistakes I made. I nag him a lot, too.

Unfortunately, people only seem able to learn from their own mistakes.

I would say that you are lucky because your dad obviously cares very much about you.

Maybe what he really means is he is finding it hard to let go of his little girl, he really wants you to be happy and safe and if there is anything he can help you with just ask?

Sometimes it just all comes out wrong. And thanks for this Abbie because you have shown me how I probably appear to my son - I am going to try and learn from this.

Abbie
01-07-2009, 18:04
Oh god im sorry ive probably come across as really mean, I dont mean to its just the way my dad doesnt he doesnt try to be dead obvious, its this tone in his voice I cant describe
my mum understands more who didnt go to uni, she knows I'll figure it out cos Im a pretty sensible person really
And they both know I will enjoy the degree im doing to do, Animal Behaviour, because Ive gone out of m way to do work experience at the RSPCA plave near me which I started on monday. I mean I did it all on my own I didnt ask my parents I organised with no help just me and emails so I would have thought that the fact Ive shown to be sensible, organised and interesting the subject as it realtes to me degree....I thought he would have understood this and well this would have shown he can leave me alone but he hasnt. I dont seem to be mean but hes the one person in my life who I feel under pressure from which sounds quite bad, he doesnt do it in a typical evil teacher way, its odd I cant describe it.
I know he cares but then why wont he leave it, my mum has. I know they are people my age that needed to be nagged, I have friends like that but I just would have thought I have proved I dont need to me.
I think he has a problem with my degree tbh, the way he says it and he was like - is that the actual name? He want it to be a biological sceince, as in thats what my degree should be called. But its not, so I know he doesnt really like it.
Im sorry I dont mean to sound harsh but I know, and my mum knows unless I state the exact job he wont let go

Trinity
01-07-2009, 18:17
Abbie you have the sense to know that you have to study something that interests you in order to do well.

You may end up working in this field, and you may not, but as I said before now is the time for you to concentrate on your studies - and on enjoying uni.

If you dad has a problem with your degree tell him that you can study animal behaviour at over 30 universities in the UK - it would not be as popular in todays climate when people have to pay fees etc if noone could gain employment at the end of the course.

He sounds like a nightmare Abbie; I have no idea what I want to do after uni either. I have had ideas but I've changed my mind a lot in the last year.

I have an almost opposite problem with my dad; he doesn't want me to go to uni. Both he and my mum didn't go to uni but my mum's ok with it; she says as long as I'm happy in the place I go to and with the course I do then it's fine with her. But he keeps saying my school are pushing me into going, degrees are a waste of time and not worth the money it costs to get them and that sort of thing. Yesterday I went with the school to a UCAS convention and got some prospectuses. I got one for Winchester and he now seems to have decided that if I go to uni I'm going there. He keeps finding ways to slag off the unis that he doesn't want me to apply to but I'm not so sure about the course at Winchester.

when i was looking at unis, my mum wanted me to do a maths degee, i wanted to do drama, so she told me i should look at unis where i could do a joint maths and drama degree (which isnt many!), i didnt really wanna do maths but i thought it wouldnt be as bad if i was doing another subject as well and my mum said it would be a waste if i didnt do it. she only listened to me when we sat through a maths talk which was so boring that we sneaked out halfway through when the lecturer went to get some information sheets! im glad as i felt like i was under pressure to do a joint degree as thats what she wanted as i didnt wanna let her down. i didnt know what i wanted to do after my degree, but just thought it was the only one i would enjoy that i was good at. i still dont know what i wanna do (which a lot of my lecturers disapprove of) but it has given me some ideas, and has also made me realise things which i really dont wanna do. my parents only wanted what was best for me and were concerned that my degree would be a waste of time (so im guessing your dad feels the same). but at the end of the day you have to do what you want to do, even if at the end it doesnt work out or you decide to do something else, otherwise you will end up resenting your dad if you do what he says and it doesnt work out or you dont enjoy it. good luck, im sure your dad will warm to the idea given time :)

That's some of the problems I have at the moment. I want to do something along the lines of Business and Psychology, which doesn't leave me with that many options. With the grades I'm predicted I feel like I'm wasting my potential/grades if I go for too many courses that are too low. I've found one around the same requirement as the Winchester one that I prefer the modules on so I feel like I should apply for that and go for higher ones for the rest of my choices. Winchester isn't that far away though and I hear it's a nice place. I hate decisions :hmm:

i got an offer from winchester. i turned it down cos the course wasnt one of the better ones but the place itself was nice. i found that with the grade requirements. the lowest one i applied to only needed the equivalent of 2 Cs and cos i got 4 Bs and an E i thought it was probably too low, i only really applied to it as my 6th choice! but the other ones i applied to ranged about 100 points between them. my mum said i should try and go to the higher ones cos it would probably be better, in the end i did choose the highest one but only cos it was the better place to go. my second choice was a lot lower but its course was better than some of the higher ones were

Was back online for an hour then it started thundering. Cue big flash of light, a bang and the tv and internet went down. Finally got back on about an hour ago.

Now I can finish my order on amazon. Got cut off when I was at the checkout.

Pretty much summed up my life at the moment there Kirst . It sucks, I know how you feel. But seriously, don't do something drastic like move to England, GOSH :rotfl:.. I am joking by the way, before I get lynched lmao!

...How did you manage to change my name to Kirstayyyy in the quotes part?!

Omg, what a night. Went to work in such a bad mood, my driving was awful because everything else is on my mind, just wanted to cry in work but after speaking to one of the girls I felt a bit better.
Then I went and smashed up to 4 glasses by accident!

Then driving home I saw my friends driving so I followed them and ended up down this realllllly long lane, then I ended up in newport (about 15 minutes away) and lost them at a junction so I had to get them to come back for me haha and then we all went for a drive back to Asda :).. was scary, but definately an experience I'll laugh about in years to come.

Quote a post and got to advanced reply. It will say [quote='Kirsty :];123456'] 123456 is just the post number. You can delete anything between the first ' and the semicolon and put whatever you like.

Think I've got a throat infection :( No point going to the doctor, most throat infections are viral and I've had enough of them to know when its infected. I've still got cold too. I'm fed up of being ill, especially when its sunny outside.

I have to redo an assignment by 17th August. Really wish I'd gone to the lectures and made an effort first time round now. At least I've learnt my lesson. Doesn't help me now that I'm struggling and have no textbooks on the subject. Guess I'll have to go down to uni next week for a day or so to do some photocopying.

I passed the year but they say I have to complete all the credits  Don't understand why as the first year doesn't count towards the final degree award.

Its not like I can ask the lecturer for help as I didn't make an effort in the first place. I was also really ill around deadline time and didn't think about applying for extenuating circumstances. So the long and short of it is, it's my fault and I won't make the same mistake again.

Thanks. I've got a new piece of software which is helping loads. Basically, you put all your ideas, quotes, little bits of info etc. down and then you can pull them about and reorder or change them. Then you click a button and it writes your assignment by stringing together all your ideas.

It's much better than having a dozen pieces of paper with scribblings on and words everywhere. You can even add pictures, draw, change font, add colours and loads of other things.

How hot is it?! It's crazy. took the dog out for an hours long walk and now he's lead on the floor panting like mad. Took a bottle of water out for him tho which he drank all of!

In a fab mood because my friend told me that Sally Jaxx played a song for me on the radio on wednesday! Sally came in the car with us to prom to interview us for the radio because my friend Kathryn won the 2BR (our local radio station) Prom Queen comp. And we were on our way and Sally was just talking to us before she interviewed us and she asked what music we like and I said Celine and kathryn was laughing and Sally went, oh I love Celine, I went to see her at Caesars palace when she was doing A New Day. <-- cue my jaw dropping to floor. I was sooooo jealous ha. So anyways, she has a slot on a wednesday on the station and she was talking about our prom and that, and saying about how kathryn took the mik for me liking Celine so Sally was talking about going to Vegas to see her and all this and then said - and this is for Hollie if you're listening - and played I'm Alive:cheer: :D well chuffed ha!

Sorry for the essay, was just well happy with that lmao.

Today has been amazing not just cause of the fact its been sunny, althrough we've had several showers but they were lush! :D

Went to the army base based in dunfermline cause one of my best friends wants to join the Raf and he was all "no join the army we're better" was actually quite funny. Then came home got changed and went back up to sunbath in the glen with one of my best friends and we met up with others whom i havent seen in agesss! Was great:D then we went to Pizza hut for tea and that was fun. Then another mate of ours picked us up, went to Tesco cause Lucy had to pick booze up for another mate of hers then we drove to the racers car park and there was a well nice car there:D and then he drove me home while blaring Michael Jackson at full volume. Also been planning my 18th hope it all goes to plan cause it will be acee! :D

Also i had more money in my bank account then i originally thought. Away to email the lawyer about getting some more out for the summer months:D.

I think this is the best i have felt in a long time. I actually think i'm getting over stuff and not worrying as much and just generally having a laugh. My life is great :D x

been to hmv this morning and got some Dvds, so going to watch them soon. Had to buy pirates of the carrabean as the boats reminded me of them in Gdynia.

going into MAnchester later for a drink so that should be good aswell. Was weird being away for so long in the middle of the sea with no communications.

I'm going to go on a bit of a rant here so please ignore me cause it may be quite long just i know what both my mum and dad will say if i say this so i'll post it here need to get it out my system.

My auntie Ruby (Dad's aunt, Gran's sister) found out she had throat cancer last July, and she went in to get her vocal box removed as there was nothing that could be done, she had chemo is well (not sure about radiotherapy (sp?)). Her husband (second one) i don't really know him that well, but from what i've heard is a bit of a p**** of the older generation. He work's night shift, which he has to do for income and so on as she can't work. Althrough her old boss said he would keep the job for her but she can't go back to it. My gran and Valerie and Colin (my Auntie Ruby's 2 children, althrough Colin live's over in belfast) help her out the best she can. Eddie does nothing. I don't know what he was doing today but he was doing something, came home and started having a go at my Auntie Ruby, for what i don't know! But she can't talk, she can mouth things, but not talk properly and it angered me but then i found out he turned around to her and went "You can't talk so i want a divorce" something along those lines. So basically cause she can't talk (which isn't her fault!) he want's a divorce. That angered me even more. Ofcourse she can't talk considering she had her voice box removed! She's depressed as it is, and just want's things sorted as it's a slow process. But if they do divorce (i know it's a long string of events for getting a divorce) i know my gran will just worry althrough she will be happy as well as she never liked him! But i don't want either her or my Auntie Ruby put under any stress. And i know there's nothing i can do about it. :thumbsdow

Right that felt so much better and it's an essay! so you don't have to read it if you don't want to i just had to get it out from my system.

Trinity
04-07-2009, 21:18
Tannie, that is such a shame. There are other ways of communication other than talking, and if your aunties husband wants a divorce then it is probably just an excuse for him rather than the real reason.

It is really hard to see people you care for being sick, and even harder to see other people hurting them.

Sometimes it is unintentional, perhaps Eddie just cannot face seeing his wife so ill?

Sometimes people are just selfish, and sometimes marriages don't work and one of the couple being ill could make a bad situation worse.

In an ideal world people marry for better or for worst. In real life, unfortunately that is not always the case.

I guess that all you can do is be there for your auntie and your gran.

I've had a flying visit back to Yorkshire for a surprise birthday dinner. It was a nightmare getting from where I am in Newcastle to the train station, took three hours in the baking heat then I got caught in torrential rain crossing the city and had to sit on the platform for an hour after missing three trains. All because the metro was closed

Anyway, I'm now back in Newcastle and very tired. Somebody has drunk my wine  I was planning on having a shower then drinking the rest of it but can't now.

I don't even know if its any of my business or what I should say. Basically Sam has a new girlfriend (according to facebook) and I don't know if it's a good idea. His ex cheated on him a couple of months ago and left him heartbroken. I last talked to him a few weeks ago and he said he couldn't be with anyone for a long time because he's still in love with her :hmm:

I am worried that he's going to fall back into what he had with his ex and it will all go belly up again. I don't know this lass and he hasn't told me himself yet. Do I say I'm pleased for him that he's moving on or that it's too soon or it's not a good idea? :searchme: I don't know what I think to it to be honest. On the one hand I'm very happy that he's moving on and forgetting about Becki but I also know that he's not forgotten what she did to him and I'm worried it could be a bit of fun that is going to hurt him more.

I'm not in the habit of telling people what to do but I am concerned given what happened in his last two relationships and what it did to him. I know he's not over Becki and that he can't have a no strings relationship. It's either all or nothing.

I'm not a huge fan of the colour change to be honest :p I feel like I have gone back a few years in time lmao (I wish)

You see I like the colour change but yeah I feel like Ive gone back

Although im glad not to be orange I miss seeing tangoed people on the boards  I know I must sound strange

i quite miss being orange, i think i was the only one who actually liked the colour! i agree the colour is quite similar to the lower posts. its weird not seeing any orange, i assumed more colours were gonna be added not ones changed if that makes sense
I thought the same

y Mum because she and my Dad are off to Tenby for a few days tomorrow.
Why didn't you go with them :(

They had a weekend away with no kids. :( but they said they wish they took us now. I was supposed to be going to Oakwood at some point this week with ym friends, but I'm skint and working most of the week anyways. :(

I'm so tired. My head hurts. I feel drained. :(
Was only supposed to work 12-5 today as I'm doing a 3-close tomorrow so my manager purposely gave me an early sunday finish, btu I got to work and it was "Kirsty, are you out tonight?" ..."No Adam.. why?"... "will you stay on until close please, Natasha phoned in sick". Ace. So I ended up working until close... again.

Then I gave him a lift home, nothing happened, then my tyre was beign weird so I took the car to him, and we sat in his garage talking for a bit, then took the car for a drive to see what it was, got back and sat and talked for ages... but nothing happened again. I need to leave it no, I'm just full of false hope, and it's getting me nowhere.

This week is not going to be good.

Got a letter this morning from my insurance company, turns out that the driver of the car I bumped into 2 months ago is now making a personal injury claim... whats that all about?! Ugh. I'm all wound up about it again now.

Perdita
06-07-2009, 11:32
Phone the insurance company and ask them what is going on, saves you worrying. Did you bump the driver very hard or was it just a little tap? What kind of injuries could the driver have suffered?

Kirsty :]
06-07-2009, 11:53
I ahve an appointment to go and see the guy whos handling my case on Thursday.
It was quite a knock I suppose... but on my end. The only thing they "could" have suffered was whiplash I guess. She didn;t get out of the car holding her neck or anything though, she was fine.

Perdita
06-07-2009, 11:55
I suppose whiplash injuries can take a couple of days to develop, you might not be aware straight after the accident. I am sure the insurance will deal with the case but I expect they will up your premium :(

Kirsty :]
06-07-2009, 12:00
..I'm the first t say when I'm wrong and I'll sympathise with anyone and anything, but I really really believe this is being milked, they tried all they could to get money for the car, but that didn't work, so now they're trying a personal injury claim.

I can jsut afford my insurance now, sop if they;re going to up my premium..I better get more overtime.

Perdita
06-07-2009, 12:29
How much damage was on their car that they did not get as much for as they wanted?

Kirsty :]
06-07-2009, 12:36
The silver wheel hub fell off, and a little scratch on the paintwork.

...My whole steering rack was bent in half and the wing is all dented.

Perdita
06-07-2009, 13:07
 That sounds like nothing at all, I think you might be right, they are trying to get money one way or another. They probably think because the insurance will deal with this, it does not cost you anything, sadly they don't seem to consider you having to pay higher premiums

Tannie
06-07-2009, 14:25
They're deffo milking it Kirsty which i think is soo stupid! You're car seemed worse of then hers!

My cousin was in an accident a few months back not a bad one just the car ran into the back of hers/her mums. And the license plate came off, and he was pleading not guilty but it was like "you left you're license plate behind!" So she's having to go to court when she oculd of been in Greece.

I'm yeat again feeling tetchy and moody. I want an ice - cream but guess what there's none, everytime i want something in this house there's none cause my family always get to it first! I'm accused of eating all the rubbish! haa don't think so! I'm going to scream if i'm stuck in the house for 7 weeks! seriously:angry: My eye's are killing me & i should be tidying my room i just can't be bothered anymore cause all i get off my mum is moaned at. And then she uses a tone with me and i know she's using it but she say's she ain't! So sick and tired of it and luckily i'm able to plan my 18th so that should cheer me up:Dx

Katy
06-07-2009, 17:35
I hope it gets sorted soon Kirsty. It does seem like they are milking it. How much are they claiming for or do you not know. There does seem to be a long gap between the accident and the claim. People do seem to claim for anything these days.

We had my sisters keyboard exam today so had to try and fit the keyboard in the fiat punto which proved more difficult than we first thought but it worked in the nd.

Kim
06-07-2009, 19:19
That's too true Katy. If they were really hurt I would have thought they would have made the claim in less than a week or something even if the injury took a few days to come out as Perdita said. It seems ridiculous given the time frame which makes the driver look like nothing more than a golddigger but unfortunately it can go up to 3 years after the accident I think.

Found out today that the temporary teacher we had that was interviewed for the full time job on Friday got the job :D

Kirsty :]
07-07-2009, 01:55
I thoguht if they were injured then it would've all come about sooner, but it just seems slightly coincidental that they've left it until they found out the couldn't claim anything for the car.

Kim you're right, after an accident you can claim as long as it's within 3 years. Grrr. I am so annoyed, I should maybe go to the school car park where they'll be tomorrow and bash into them again and give them something to claim about!!... Haha I wouldn't though, because that would be bad, but that#s how angry I am about it lol.

Ahhh my head is killing :( I'm tireddddddd. I'm not in work until Thursday now though :) Yay!... Guarenteed I will be bored though!

I've got an interview for College tomorrow, well.... in about 9 hours, I am briking it... I don't even know what to wear! I suck at interviews :(

yeh it is 3yrs cos when this cyclist rode into my mum really fast straight off the path while she was waiting at a juntion she was told he could make a claim against her for up to 3yrs if he wanted even though it wasnt her fault as it was her car he hit into! it sounds though like they are just trying to get money out of it anyway they can! surely if they were injured they would claim asap, why should you be able to decide 3yrs later that you were injured enough?!

Maybe he hasn't told me because he's scared of my reaction. Usually when he's had a girl or gone on a date he'll tell me the next day (whether I want to know or not).

All that said, I miss him immensely :( Maybe I'm slightly jealous because I've been thinking of everything that happened between us. But I don't want him and I never did. So jealousy doesn't even come into it.

That is awful, dm  Get your grandad to go private if you can, I would not wait around knowing the hospital is as useless as you state, especially if a delay in treatment could cost him life quality. Unfortunately too many people, especially the elderly, do not want to make a fuss when they really need to. Hope that your grandad gets sorted out quickly. :)

thanks :) i think the reason my grandad doesnt wanna make a fuss is cos he thinks my gran is already making too much of a fuss. my mum said she will go with them everytime now so that she can make sure something is getting done. the state of the hospital is shocking, but whats more shocking is the fact its apparently in the top 40 in the country!

There was another girl there to do the same as me aswell and her name was Kirsty too lol. I ended up giving her a lift home because she lives near me and cos her Dad had to go to work.
I'm excited to start in September now, the course sounds really interesting and we learn about alcohol, and our big project, we have to set up a sandwich business and actually make sandwiches and that and sell them, and they take us away on a trip, last year they took their class to Paris! :) So I'm in a good mood because I feel like I'm getting somewhere now, and I'm so set on doing well..
