The X Factor is back next weekend (Dated 19th August) so i thought id set up a thread where us X Factor Fans can discuss it!

A great idea to start a thread on this! I love watching the X Factor every year, i can't wait for it to return next Saturday...it will become my Big Brother replacement. :)
i am really looking forward to the x factor starting next week it is on the sky planner already!!!!!!my fave part is the auditions!!!!

I also agree i love the audition part the best. :cheer:
In the place where i work the X factor people called to ask us to hold the London audition there, but we had already had a booking for that week! I was well gutted (although i'm sure the reason we said no was because no one would have done any work! i no i wouldn't have) :thumbsup:
I can always hope that next year, they call again and we can fit them in!

Roll on Saturday, something good on the tv again
Just reading TV Now (irish mag) and there is interviews will all judges.. Simon said that the talent is in the 16 - 24 age group.. Sharon is convinced that she will get the Groups this year as she never had them before but she said she is looking for a really good girl group that will take the space the Spice Girls left

i like jonathon aswell i think he is a fab singer and he aint big headed about it, i also think the 16 year old was quite good aswell he was just really nervous

I liked the family who auditioned and Jonathan..also the kid who was really nervous, i am also glad they put him through, he just has to control his nerves a lot more...

Also the man who sang Westlife and he took forever..and it kept saying on screen "a bit later" then a "lot later" lol...it was so funny.
Loved the whole granny thing.. she was so funny.. Sean is not going to make it.. he is far to nervous. Jonathon looks to go far.. Did you see the woman who was singing but didn't move her mouth??? that was mental..

Loved Edna the Granny in the Manchester Auditions telling off Simon and he said "i feel about this big" He was right though the daughter in law could not sing. That SEan bloke its a good job he got through as he probably would have crumbled at the thought of not geting in. Looking forward to next week.

I thought that 16 year old boy Sean was really good at singing but he needs to get his nerves sorted! I loved that old lady who came in with her adughter in law, her face just changed throughout the performance as Simon and Louis started laughing! that cracked me up! JOnathon was really good as well! Make a quick prediction! He'll Win! lol x

I do think its wrong when they laugh though, its funny and we all laugh at home but some of these people are seriously deluded.

I am sorry but I think they should laugh.. ok they can be a bit more subtle but when you get someone like that Donna woman who believes she is as good as Madonna, you have to laugh even if you are suppose to be professional.. they know their stuff and they can't pretend to someone that they are great when they are clearly rubbish... that would do far more damage than good

Also the last girl who auditioned, the one with loads of family who had been through alot, i loved her! I cried when she got through!!

That 14 year old was brilliant.. she did look older but fair play to her to confess now instead of going to camp and kicking someone else out of a place
I laugh at these people too, but don't you think it is really cruel? It seems to me that there are numerous sad, delusional, not terribly attractive people who seem to take up most of the air time in the audition stages. I wonder if this is a fair representation of the types who apply, or if they are being given more air time just so we can laugh at them?

You know Raymond, the young lad who sung the Dean Martin song was he the guy that played little ANthony in Brookside. He killed the girl that was bullying him. I have been looking on teh internet but i cant find it anywhere hes really bugging me as i know i have seen it before.

I knew i wasnt seeing things. Thanks. I remember him now. he had a good little voice as well. He was so little in Brookside though it seemes like it was years ago.

Robbie Williams, Elton John and Westlife have agreed to coach this year's X Factor finalists.
The celebrities, who join the team for the live episodes, were hired by the show's judges in a bid to bring even more star quality to the show. Williams will guide the 16-25s, Sir Elton will take the over 25s and the Irish band will help the groups.
"Simon said he wanted this series to be the biggest and best yet," a source told the Sunday Mirror. "This is a massive coup."
The judges' sections have also been revealed. Simon Cowell will be in charge of the 16-25s, Louis the over 25s and Sharon the groups. A source commented: "The judges all pretend to take it lightly, but the truth is they are all desperate to win."
Other celebrities including Take That, Mariah Carey and Il Divo have also signed up for guest appearances.

I think what the Sunday Mirror said was that Louis was lining up Kian from Westlife to help out as it looks like Westlife may be splitting and he is keen for Kian to launch a solo career from all the group and this could be the start of it. It never mentioned Robbie or Elton.
sounds good but i dont want x factoir turing into a celebrity show like some other crap celeb shows thats what i liked about thex factor it was a rweality show which was celb free-for a chnage

You're right, he was nothing great.. as simon said.. he was ordinary. My favs have to be Anthony who sang the swing songs and the other guy who was on the first show that they were talking about.. We have to wait and see.. I am not impressed with the groups so far
I quite like that Rudi guy he wasnt a bad singer, and he wasnt bad looking. So far no one has really stood out.

AJ the black guy, looked the part but when he sang I just kept thinking, this has to be a joke....
That guy who had his family outside, think he was 16, was pretty good too and the older guy who sang "lets get it on" was very different to what I expected (the guy with his little girls teddy in his pocket)

I think i'm actually really happy with all of Sharon's choices.
Wasn't sure if Jonathon was going to make it through, but he did. Now i know this ir far to early to say, but i really hope he wins, he just has a voice to dye for, i LOVE it.

Cant believe sharon didnt put that girl through. dont know her name but she looked quite young and was darked skined. quite big and she had a child, i thought she was really good. Glad Jonathon was through i liked him. Most of mf favs went out though form each catagory. dont think there that much talent left to go on to the live shows :hmm:

At the risk of being hated i really didnt like that Sean. It's not that he's bad, i just think there were people with a lot better voices that didnt get put through. And if he still hasnt managed a full song yet, hows he going to handle the live shows. I just think his voice sounds a bit too...nervouse and extremely femanine.

I'm very glad Trevor not through, liked him first time round, but not now, he lost he's appeal, and was a bit to up himself in interviews on X-Tra Factor.

The other guys wanted the split cause they had rehearsed and done all the work but one of the other group went on holiday just before boot camp.. they asked if they could split in 2 groups and Louis said ok.. they got throught the next round but when louis set them all a task, those two guys went to bed with rehearsing anything.. Everyone esle was up all night working hard.. they didn't care and were arogant about it... that is their own fault!!!!
Oh right - I see. Just shows though, arrogance gets you nothing - if you want something you have to work to get it - nothing tends to land on your plate.

I agree with you on all of those. Except i can see why Dionne was in the bottom two. Her voice is extremly poweful and i think she is great but, when there is not a powerful part in the song her voice kinds of flattens and droans. Its not until she hits the peek of the song towards the end does the song suit her voice, but no song is powerful and strong all the way through. I liked 4sure, Nikitta, Leona, Robert, Eton Rd too. Also enjoyed Ben but felt for Ray and the Bros. lol. Though Ash and Kerry could have done better but i dont like Kerry anyway. Her voice is too boring and she's a bit dull.
I did like the un convens but not tonight. They had a good idea of making sure everyone had their chance at singing lead, the only thing was they tried to do it all in the same song. They should have let one different person take the lead each week. It was horrible!
I don't get the unconventionals. They just seem so... wierd :hmm:

I dont hate him but hes over-rated, hes an average singer at best who doesnt set the stage alight or anything, he does nothing for me singing wise. now Ben was awesome tonight I so knew he'd sing Maggie May= an what a performance. Eton Road were excellent, as was Robert. 4Sure were better last week, Nikkita was a little bit out of her depth, Raymond was given a bland song.
The McDonald brothers will be out tonight I think.

How did Macdonald brothers get through with their version of Sailing? what are the British public thinking of, have they all gone deaf, either that or they havent heard Sailing the way it should be sung, it was dreadful.
Loved Ben :cheer: knew he would be good with a Rodders song, good choice with Maggie may but he would have done Sailing justice aswell (though even i could do better than MD bros and i cant sing :lol:) Loved Ray aswell he was ace
Based on lastnight and purely lastnight Ray or Ben to win

she said something about him causing trouble, it was done in jest. What I cant understand is Simon saying Ashley and Ben were the best of the night, Ben definately was, but come on Dionne, Eton Road and Robert all shined ahead of Ashley.
I was in total shock at the final two on Saturday.. there is no way Robert should have been there, he is great... McDonald brothers really should have gone.. Was not impressed with Ashley or Ray this week but my god Ben was fantastic.. he is going to win this.
Ems I think they said Tony Bennet is going to be mentor next saturday... I thought he was dead :rotfl::rotfl:

Simon is so right about the Borefest Brothers. There is just nothing appealing about them what so ever. Sorry if it sounds harsh but they've got no chance of winning. Acts that stood out for me on Saturday were Dionne, Ashley, Eton Road - (I think they might win), and Ben - (he was really good). Still don't like Robert, he doesn't interest me. MacDonald Brothers or Robert to go next please. :)

Out of all the acts I would say that Ben and Eton Road are the best. Ashley and the Macdonald brothers were rubbish.

They anounced on This Morning that this week's theme is a big orchestra band on stage...with American Jazz singer Tony Bennett as the guest.
I dont like this theme idea, if the theme is bad than the whole show is boring! :thumbsdow

Tony Bennett is great, because he is a singer but a writer too, so he will have a great catalouge of songs to be sung. ! New York New York springs to mind

Ben to win, he was amazing on Saturday. Was I right in thinking he jumped on the piano? I was babysittiting and the kids wouldn't let me watch it properly :(

Apparently the Sugababes are backing Ben to win. I say Nikkita, liona or Dionne to win. I have to say though, this years imo is not as good as last years. There hardly any big personalities but last year we had Chico (love him or loathe him), Brenda (brilliant), maria etc its just lacking it.

it was in the paper about the twists the other day, its either 2 acts leave, the guest celeb chooses who goes, they bring either 2 acts back who have got chucked out or they bring someone in from the auditions.

Loved The McDonalds brothers last night! So glad there still in.
And i know she cant exactly help it, or do it any other way, but i hate Kerrys one arm dancing thing!
Didn't like Ashleigh last night, no way. And i don't perticularly like the Mcdonald brothers either.
Glad Dion went she annoyed me, and Kerry, well she was good but i always knew she wouldn't win it, so that didn't bother me to much.
Ray was the best performer last night and Leona the best singer. In my opinion anyway.
And i am still as always loving Eton Rd.!! :thumbsup:
Also, its annoying me, the judges are just taking it out on each others acts. Do you get what i mean?! Like how every week Louis has said to Nikitta about songs, she asked him last night and he didn't say anything. I think her songs have been great, its just the louis simon rivaly. And it annoys me sometimes
