Back in the days, when he was scamming Kim, he was being bankrolled, by the guy that Will eventually sorted out, he told Nikky a few times that he needed to pay that guy back.

Since then he has bought Vinny's house, did he pay for it, loaned Moira money, and offered to invest in Tracey. Did he pay back the money to that guy, I cannot see him being let him off with it, if he knew Caleb was buying a house? Truly there must be a "Magic Money Tree" in the village. I am setting off for Emmerdale tomorrow.

When they write these scripts they seem to forget the history of recent events, unless we are just not bright enough to see it.
