I think this is a story that could possibly be explored in more depth. If Gus and his wife live close by or move to be close. Then if Rhona gave permission for the embryos to be used she could have contact with the child/children growing up and have some input into their lives. I am not saying this what should happen, but it could be an interesting and new approach to parenting. I don't think it is something that has happened in a Soap before, and is certainly no more far fetched than many stories in the past.

Exactly - One of the reasons I dislike tales that delve into the past.

I would prefer them to introduce new characters that had no connection to the village or it's inhabitants.

I disagree competely they are Rhona's eggs not Gus's and most definitely not Lucy's. It is up to Rhona to decide what happens to HER eggs.

Is it that simple? They are talking about embryos, fertilized eggs, which could be argued are owned, jointly, 50/50 by Rhona AND Gus. Seems this is the sort of thing that a court would need to decide.

I am sure she will appear, no doubt in my mind on that!! Whether the character has been in Emmerdale before remains to be seen.
