Why was there a need for the bit about Adam needing surgery for a bleed behind his eye when soon after he was out and about as if nothing had happened.
Was it just to fill in a few minutes show time or was it setting the scene for a further complication to arise in the furture?

None of that made sense, he would not have been able to just walk about into the police station the way he did with broken bones and ribs and a little bit of blurred vision when Lydia first came to see him, after that no problems at all .. scriptwriters must have had a boozy lunch before they wrote that scene...
