Probate takes about 6 months !

That's really at the extreme edge if the case has unforeseen difficulties. It can all be over in less than a month. Both my parents' estates were dealt with within about a month.

A few years back someone I used to work for left me something in his will and it took well over a year to settle. Then more than another year to receive the last payment after the HMRC had been settled with. Mind you perhaps it is dependant on the competence and efficiency of the executor.

So David paid off his previous mortgage but now cannot get another one to buy his former home again???? He is working (when covid allows it) Shona is (when covid allows) ... not heard of David being in financial stuck in different ways.... why would he not get another mortgage????????????

We don't know what the asking price was. I think Tracy said the house was valued at ?180,000. Ray said he paid more than it eventually sold for, (?22,000) so Gail got it at a bargain price.
