I'm just re-watching Boys from the Black Stuff (1982). I see David Neilson features in that, playing a Dept. Of Employment job investigator.

The faces on those two were priceless. As Carla said, blackmail doesn't work if everyone knows the details, but more importantly with blackmail, you give in to it once and there's nothing to stop that pair from coming back. He can say he'd give his word, but you'd excuse me if I think his word is worth anything.

Not to mention, i was glad to see the usually cynical and sarcastic Evelyn being one of the most vocal supporting Carla. It really defused their plans.
