Pat Phelan must have been very busy as one-man band working hard to have paid back most of the money to the residents of Coronation Street .. strange that none of them have ever mentioned having got their 15k back .......

Didn't Phelan post some amount of cash in envelopes through some of the locals doors?
Then he allowed then to think he did it not wanting a fuss, but told them it was a 'start' to pay them back their lost deposits by his own hard work.
That's my recollection of it, anyway.
