Great episode, superb writing, some knock put performances from Steve McFadden and Letitia Dean and a nice supporting cast with Jamie Borthwick and Tilly Keeper. Quality stuff tonight. Can EastEnders keep this up, I doubt it?

Hopefully it'll remain superb quality as long as SOC is given free reign and the BBC don't listen to the vocal minority of moaners who prefer wall to wall sensationalism.

It was heartwarming to see Phil nearly back to his old self (something I never thought I'd say ) and looking forward to Christmas by the end of the episode.

Enjoyed the Chris-tingle service. Sad about Dot. I found the stag amusing with the Christmas trees. You can see what is going to happen with Roxy.

Methinks that Monday's sentimental episode oozing with cheese was designed to lull us into a false sense that this year's Christmas in Albert Square is going to be a boring and drama free zone full of love and warmth.

Im confused re Dot .. I spent 4 hours today at the eye clinic, where they were calling patients in five at a time to get eye injections re wet age related maculars treatment.. did she go or did she lie that she went.

Additional.. what new eye surgery are they on about. The damage being done to the eye is in the back of it so I cant see how implanting a new lens would work? I mean it probably is correct just poorly described in the narrative.

Stealing the crimbo tree is up there with there with the famous footballer story line in corrie for being naff.

Dot is lying about getting the injections. I think she bottled the appointment, though she muttered some excuse about it being against God's will.

Oh ...thats not good.. I must say the representation of her vision also didnt match anything I know, but then unless you have it why would you know. But then Ive had the issue from birth so am used to it and compensate for it where as the likes of Dot are new to it.
