    well done your sis

Land lady still upset, a kid at her school collapsed and stopped breathing, a colleague who is a trained first aider instantly started cpr, the kid is known to have heart issues but that lady really stepped up having that happen on her watch. Land lady was also furious, she is also a trained first aider yet she and most of the others were unaware that the school had a heart shock machine like you see on TV. I cant see this ending well for the head teacher if only the office staff knew about it, which seems the case.

Another expensive day Tuesday, but in theory thats the end of the cash drain sorting my flat out, just needs a few tweaks and its on the let market it goes.

Had the worst christmas party ever... we all came at 5pm and it started with a bit of mulled wine in the courtyard where our bookkeeper yelled at me for smoking and even when I went to the outer courtyard she followed me to yell some more (I get a lot of people don't like smoking but there is no need to yell at anyone for it especially if I am outside and in the designated smoking area nowhere near her). Anyway boss rambled on for 2 hours about some stuff and seriously didn't have any point to it so not sure why. Starter came at 8.30 (was ok, not the best) and mains at 9.30. Waited til 10.45 to get icecream (understand as there was 24 of us and only 2 servers). Never again.. Hotel was lovely but food not the best

Outside of work hours, Id of given her the bird.. youve got more restraint than me Siobhan

I gave up the smokes in 2003, by then I had become expert at giving up I had done it so many times

I hate the smell of second hand smoke, but only because it reminds me of the good times and is as always a temptation. But I will defend to the end the right of those that wish to do so.

The only new thingy I hate is the vapour things, great if you are using them to quit but I cant see how that works myself, patches chewing gum is the route I took and the occasional cigar on nights out to stave off buying that pack of 20. Plus bods who arent yet addicted to nicotine now use them, guess what, they become addicted to nicotine!!!!

On the positive side Siobhan you survived the office crimbo party.

That Christmas party sounds horrific Siobhan.

I'm also an ex smoker (I stopped 20 years ago). I tried to quit many times but eventually just stopped cold turkey. I've no idea where I got the motivation to see it through that time though.

Hope the bookkeeper is not your line manager, sounds a right nasty piece. I would have just moved away a bit if I was bothered by the smoke. Next February it will be 16 years since I quit but I remember very well the days I fancied a smoke so appreciate how smokers feel.

I hope somebody let the hotel know about the time it took for your meals to arrive. They knew the amount of people they had to cater for so appropriate staff should have been employed, even if it was extra staff just for the night!!

We need to hold an intervention on Siobhans smoking

As long as it involves lots of gin and a barrel full of cigars Im in.

I must admit I wondered who left the red lipsticked butts in the forums bars ashtrays, up till now I thought it was Parkerman

Thankfully she is not my line manager but she is second in command if anything happens to the boss. And for the record, I moved away from the group and she followed me to yell some more. She is an ex smoker too and one of those ones who get disgusted at people smoking. All the non-smokers didn't complain. Splashy I am beyond hope of giving up.. Tried and it was so bad my mother bought me cigarette cause she couldn't handle my crazy. I think I am a smoker and when I am ready I will give up but I am not ready yet.

On a completely different note: I want to thank everyone on these boards for making my job as moderator so much easier. Beside the spammer, I don't have any major problems. We are a small group but we get on and don't have any major disagreements. You are all wonderful people and I love coming here to check out what is going on. Again thank you one and all and I hope you have a very happy holiday season xxxxxxxx
