His self-esteem is so low that he feels he doesn't deserve Whitney. I hope he doesn't do a runner but, since we know he's leaving soon, there's not many other options available. I'm kind of hoping that Whitney is secretly leaving as well so they get a happy ending.

I've just been reading back a couple of pages and my reaction to the news Lee had been axed was "Lee's a terrible character so I'm not sorry he's leaving".

I feel differently now: it's amazing what decent writing will do for a character. I really empathise with Lee's current feelings of worthlessness.
