Do people who continue defending Todd realize that Todd has the evidence he needs to expose Phelan, yet he's choosing not to? Doesn't sound like he's only pretending. And to people saying he must be pretending as he would wouldn't rip off his family, it says in the spoilers "he'll happily fleece the neighbours but Eileen and Jason mustn't loose a penny!". Honestly i'm 60/40 on the matter because although the evidence mounts up to him not really pretending, in soapland it can go either way. He may even choose to expose Phelan after the neighbours have already been ripped off. who knows. I know it sounds like i'm hating on Tod but i'm not as I honestly do hope he is only pretending or atleast changes his mind before it's to late.

I've seen the new spoiler pictures. They're as depressing as I imagined. One thing gives me a small hope though, Todd stops talking to Alex because Billy looks on. Yeah, I know it said Todd had doubts before that, but it was Billy's disapproving looks that made him stop. He still cares about what he thinks.

You're right. I can't defend him after what he did, and that says a lot coming from me. I'm just mostly upset the writers decided to go there with him. He has made so much progress lately. He was basically redeemed before the writers decided to do a 180 and completely destroy all the progress he has made. I don't understand why they couldn't just continue with the character growth and have him use his manipulative side for good, i.e. taking down Phelan. But this sadly does not surprise me, considering this is Kate Oates we're talking about here. She made Robert on Emmerdale into a complete psycho. I expected nothing less from her when it comes to Todd. I knew it was a bad sign when she said she was fascinated by his "dark side" back in July. I just knew she would ruin everything because she doesn't give a damn about character development. All she cares about is shocking twists and stunts so she can spike the ratings. I'd much rather go back to the old Corrie, that had real emotional and believable storylines, and characters you could actually relate to and root for, than this stupid dreck, but whatever. Kate Oates lost at least one viewer by reverting Todd back to his selfish manipulative self. He was my favorite character. It just hurts to see him go down this path again after improving so much over the last few months. I just can't watch anymore. I don't understand why they would do this instead of having him evolve even more as a character, but whatever. Right now I'm pissed off at the writers for ruining my favorite character and pissed off at Todd for being an idiot. I know Todd is not perfect and he never will be, but this is a new low, even for him. It's not something I can defend, I'm talking about both calling the bishop and him teaming up with Phelan. I'm disappointed, hurt, frustrated, angry.. you name it. Oh well. I'll just have to stop watching I guess. It was fun while it lasted though, it was nice to see Todd improve himself, and I will never forget that, despite how much Kate Oates try to destroy him.

I think the worst he did was split up Jason and Eva. I was'nt bothered when he made a fool of us mum via the Internet . She was prepared to two time her bloke at the time. I believe he will do good in the end somehow. Ultimately he does have some good in him...just a troubled mixed up character. With Eileen as a mum who can blame him. I know that's harsh. I do not like her at the moment.

It's nice to see he feels guilty about Alex especially when he sees Billy watching on in disapproval. I hope he goes back to Rita, says it's a scam and apologises but as you said, this is Kate Oates we're talking about so it's most likely that won't happen.

Despite all these annoying sad spoilers I still genuinely believe Todd hasn't played Billy and does care and love him. Todd put to much on the line I.e his relationship with Sean, his relationship with his mother etc for Billy despite knowing they might both disapprove and hate him for it so I personally think Todd wouldn't be stupid enough to risk all that for the sake of playing Billy. Also the fact he still cares what Billy thinks of him even know they have spilt up shows he still cares and has hope for them. He probably joins Phelan to get over the sting of Billy leaving him and to hurt people the way he is hurting. Maybe Todd, Phelan and Vinny will all end up in over there heads with this deal... If anyone can win Todd round from the dark side again its Billy who will still probably care for Todd, as he is a caring person, despite feeling betrayed by Todd calling the bishop. I wanna find out why Todd rang though because that is one of the main things that will make or break this relationship for me, if he is sorry or it was a mistake I could get over it or he believed it would do more good than bad, but if he did it for his own selfish reasons or to play Billy than that's the end for me as I would never know whats real to Todd anymore...
