Chelsee Healey joins

Waterloo Road veteran Chelsee Healey has a new soap role lined up in Coronation Street.



The 27-year-old Manchester native has not yet revealed who she'll be playing in Corrie, but has seemingly confirmed her casting by retweeting supportive fan messages.

Coronation Street will mark Healey's return to acting, having ended her 11-month stint as bubbly barista Honey Wright in Casualty last September.

Healey is perhaps best known for playing Janeece Bryant for six years, ending in 2012.

The actress has had success in the reality TV arena as well, finishing as runner-up to McFly's Harry Judd in Strictly Come Dancing.

Coronation Street stunned viewers on Friday by airing the tragic death of villain-turned-fan favourite Kylie Platt.

I doubt it, either Digital Spy or the papers have it wrong, I have now seen a tweet that says Hollyoaks. Looks like a digital spy has been spying on the wrong set

Digital Spy have now corrected it and Chelsee is joining Hollyoaks, not Coronation Street
