Did hell freeze over? Did Phil say that Paul is family? Ben bonding with Pam was really sweet too. Today's episode was great. I have to say of the three soaps, these days EastEnders come out on top. Great storytelling all around.

Yes, I'm serious. Corrie is on the boring side lately (only exception being the tilly storyline). I don't care about any of Emmerdale's lame storylines. At least EastEnders was fun to watch tonight.

Except for the occasional episode or two (such as Peggy's death), I think DTC left EE - mentally at least - after live week. Maybe he was burned out, maybe he just lost interest or perhaps all the acclaim went to his head, but it seems to me he stopped putting in 100% after that.

What was the point in risking bringing Kathy back when little effort went into giving her a credible backstory or making the man who persuaded her to abandon her sons a three-dimensional villain? It could have been compelling viewing but has just turned into a laughing stock! The most unforgivable part of this mess for me was the absence of an electrifying showdown (or any showdown!) between Kathy and Ian. Their first meeting was a complete damp squib! I kept expecting him to confront her but he never did.

And after all that, Kathy's barely done anything of note since she returned.

The less said about the end of the Lucy storyline the better...

RIP Jan Howard from Howards way, I loved that show, a mate of mine won the boat Tom Howard was supposed to of made at his boat yard in the show, at the Southampton Boat show.

Anywho back on topic.. wow did they make the most of the huge house they had rented for the day for those scenes Was anyone else cheering on Vince sorry I mean whats his face to do in Kathy as well, maybe she could of fallen on Sharon

Poor Westbrook, her last scenes for me denoted how desperate she is to come back long term, they did give her the leaving in the taxi bit but no Julias theme which would of amused me if they had.

Fishy Fred really has very poor chpice in women and now Philth knows. his jig is up. watch out Shirley dosent Bobbit you son

As you know, I've given up on EE after the dreadful denouement of the Lucy/Bobby story.

However, I see Gavin is mentioned a few times here. So has he turned out to be the most villainous soap villain of all time as promised? He 'd have to go it some to beat Ian and Jane in my book!
