I wasn't keen on the montage at the start, it works well on Hollyoaks but not on EastEnders. The horses pulling the glass coffin always gives me the creeps, it reminds me of Dracula, I don't like it at all.

I liked the ending with Phil at the grave side and using Peggy's theme was very effective, very EastEnders. The Mitchells were not a particularly nice family lets face it and it was rather appropriate that none of Peggy's Children were there when she was buried. Stand out performances, Anna Karen, Letitia Dean and of course Steve Mcfadden. If I am being over critical it probably could have been better in places, it seemed a little disjointed. Line of the night goes to Aunt Sal when she said to Ben "you can always tell a pansy by his manners."

I felt Sam was showing too much cleavage for attending a funeral. Why did Grant not attend the funeral but watched from afar?
I normally get quite emotional even at fictional funerals but this one did not stir any emotions ..

Line of the night for me goes to Kim , during the hymn " Abide with me" she asks Denise, isn't this sung at the F.A. cup final.

I know but there was online discussion on whether he killed Kathy or his sister and I think it was his sister rather than Kathy

I did jump at the body dropping on the car which does look like Margaret despite her and Kathy both wearing black

I do see some some bits of Peggy in Sam

Gavin is not a believable villain, he is not even panto good

    Shirley after Phil again

Ian giving Jay advice was good to see, part of the redemption of Ian but it will take a whole lot
