Ideas that to me have put Ross in a different catagory of character, which i don't really like.

Ross was going to be the next bad boy for Emmerdale. Someone who was going to rival Cain. Michael Parr even envisaged this.
Yet, last nights episode, Ross simply ran away when Jimmy came knocking.
    Jimmy!! I repeat Jimmy!!
Why on earth would Ross run from him? He so easily could have taken him on.

Iain is making Ross more and more a pathetic comedy character. Yes, it's good for Ross to have charm and comedy moments. I always liked that about Ross.

I just can't get over someone who was meant to be the next tough guy running away from Jimmy!
I think its a bit unfair to say he is becoming a joke character, yeah the Jimmy thing was strange. However the rest of the episode was great, Ross was funny and he kept true to his bad boy ways by messing with the minibus. My personal theory is that Ian doesnt want to give him a big storyline yet because Michael has to leave for a few months to climb Everest. I think when he returns to full time filming he will get a big storyline. We just have to be patient.

And of course, we need to remember that the show is called Emmerdale and not Everybody Loves Ross Barton

I'm not saying everybody should. I'm talking about his development.

I'm disappointed in the way Iain is going with Ross at the moment.

Iain's storylines probably haven't even really kicked in yet and he's still running with the existing ones on his takeover. The plans he has are probably for when Michael returns from his charity climb.

Ive just seen the spoilers and there is an actual article about how Charity walks in on Robert and Aaron in the shower. Even the smallest things are being mad into something big, Robron can do one as far as Im concerned. There is just too much of them. Yet again though nothing for Ross or any of the Bartons.

I'm taking a break from the show for now. The writing and the development for Ross has gone horribly wrong recently.

I don't think it has gone wrong at all. It's disappointing that he isn't doing much right now but when he is on screen even if it's just a few lines he grabs the audience's attention. We can't have him being bad all the time and I have really enjoyed seeing him get on ok with his brothers. He has some funny one liners and I think it's good to see different sides to a character. And actually people that weren't liking him so much last year are starting to like him again now. We have to accept that not everyone likes the way Ross is all the time and there will be people who like this side of Ross more than the cocky bad boy Ross. I think we also need to accept that Ross is probably going to be quiet up until his break. Disappointing obviously if you are a big fan but they need to get some of the fans Ross lost back by giving him a break and showing the funnier side.
