Over on Coronation Street, Jenny Bradley encounters more drama than she ever could have imagined when she heads to Blackpool on a day trip with Johnny Connor.

Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) agrees to make the visit as a mark of respect to her late father Alan, who was knocked over by a tram in the seaside resort in 1989.

Hoping to lay some old demons to rest, Jenny shows Johnny the spot where the accident happened all those years ago - as well as revealing details of the troubled life she's endured since then.

Kevin Webster and his son Jack are also in Blackpool at the same time - accompanied by Tim Metcalfe, who needs a break from Weatherfield as he's currently experiencing tense times with his snobby wife Sally.

When Sally and Sophie decide to track Tim down in Blackpool, Sally isn't best pleased to spot him playing happily families with Kevin.

Amid the childish row that follows, Jack suddenly vanishes from the cafe and runs out into the road - straight into the path of a tram. After watching on in horror, Jenny rushes to his rescue to stop history repeating itself - but will they both be okay? And will this be the moment she finally redeems herself after kidnapping Jack last year?

​Jenny tells Rita that she's heading to Blackpool for the day with Johnny, in the hope she can finally lay some of her demons to rest.

In Blackpool, Jenny shows Johnny the place where her dad was hit by a tram all those years ago.

Meanwhile, after letting Nick spend the night on the sofa at Number 8, David implores him to get his scan results and talk everything through with Carla. Carla confides in Michelle that Nick has called off the wedding and she is worried he may have found out about her one night stand with Robert. Carla corners David in the salon and demands the truth. How much does he tell her before Carla heads off to find Nick?

Elsewhere, when Sean makes a dig at Billy - pointing out that they'd now be in Ibiza if it weren't for him - Billy snaps at him and leaves Sean shocked. Sean confides in Todd that he's worried Billy may have met someone else.

Also, determined not to let Sally spoil his trip, Tim announces that he's going with Kevin and Jack instead. Tim, Kevin and Jack take a selfie on the Promenade and Tim posts it online. Sally tells Sophie she's off to Blackpool to save her marriage.

Finally, a chuffed Tyrone announces to Luke and Freddie that he's finally obtained his taxi licence.


Monday (2)

Sally and Sophie set off to Blackpool to track down Tim. Linking arms on Blackpool pier, Jenny tells Johnny about her troubled life.

At the same time, having arrived in Blackpool, Sally is horrified to spot Tim spoon-feeding Kevin in a café. Whilst Sally rails at Tim and accuses him of playing happy families with Kevin, Jack vanishes from the café. He careers across the road, straight into the path of a tram, until Jenny rushes to the rescue.

Meanwhile, Nick reveals to Carla how he once hit Leanne and it scares him that he could do the same to her. Carla assures him she loves him and she's going nowhere. The consultant confirms to Nick that his condition is stable, but he must try to avoid stress. Carla confides in Johnny how worried she is that if Nick ever finds out about her fling with Robert, the stress could cause him a serious meltdown.

Elsewhere, Lee calls in The Rovers and scrapes together the money for a pint. Gary clocks Lee about to steal from Erica's handbag. Liz threatens to call the police, but Billy steps in and assures her that he'll handle it. Sean is perplexed to hear Billy offering the lad a room at the rectory.

Also, Anna is hurt when Gary tells her that he'd prefer her not to attend his court case.

Finally, after a game of darts, Kylie suggests to Freddie that he should accompany her back to Number 8 and he helps her put the kids to bed. Freddie is touched.


Wednesday

Masking her pain, Izzy assures Gary that she'll be there to support him in court. Having obtained the number of another dealer from Dane, Izzy makes arrangements to meet up with him. When Izzy meets drug dealer Marc, she leads him back to her flat. However, Izzy makes to pay for her drugs, the police force their way into the flat looking for Marc. Although Marc legs it, Izzy is detained.

When a police officer refuses to let Izzy take her painkillers, she sees red and charges at him, running over his foot and breaking it. As a result, she is arrested for assaulting a police officer.

Meanwhile, in the factory, Johnny watches Jenny admiringly and Kate clocks their obvious chemistry. When a journalist from the Gazette calls at the factory wanting to interview Jenny about her life story, Jenny is reluctant but agrees to do it with encouragement from Johnny.

Elsewhere, when Billy takes a call from Lee, he's clearly not happy. Rita confides in Todd that Billy is on the phone to someone called Lee. Having stolen cash from the till, Lee does a runner from Preston's Petals. Todd goes to phone the police, but Billy stops him and finally reveals who the thief is.

Also today, Kevin is rushed off his feet at the garage, so Kylie persuades him to give Freddie a part-time job.


Thursday

When Izzy fails to show up, Anna insists on accompanying Gary to court. In the police station, Izzy is scared as she realises the seriousness of the injury she inflicted on the officer. The police search Izzy and find a small stash of cannabis down the side of her chair. Izzy explains that it's just for pain relief.

Later, Gary arrives back from court. He's relieved to have got a suspended sentence but is annoyed at Izzy's lack of support. Izzy, however, is facing some serious charges.

Meanwhile, as the journalist leaves, Sally makes bitchy comments about Jenny but Johnny leaps to her defence and puts Sally in her place. Jenny overhears Kate talking about Johnny's last girlfriend and how she gave him the runaround but it only made him keener.

Jenny then forms a plan and suggests to Johnny that they should stick to being colleagues and nothing more. Johnny is hurt, while Jenny is quietly pleased. When Jenny suggests she'd like to become a machinist, Johnny promises to see what he can do.

Elsewhere, in Preston's Petals, Billy confides in Todd about how his brother Lee is a heroin addict, their parents are dead and how he wishes he could help him. At Billy's request, Todd promises to keep schtum about Billy's family problems but warns him that Sean is becoming very suspicious and suspects him of cheating.

Also today, after a successful first day at the garage, Freddie calls in the salon with flowers for Kylie. When Audrey suggests a drink, Freddie declines and tells her her that he's too busy. Kylie clocks Audrey's disappointment.


Friday (1)

In an effort to ensure that Nick has a stress-free day, Carla suggests that he puts his feet up and waits in for the surveyor. When he arrives, the surveyor's incessant whistling soon gets on Nick's nerves. He snaps and bundles the man out of the flat.

When Robert finds Nick on Maxine's bench, clearly stressed, Nick admits that he's not well enough to move to Devon and start again. Nick then confesses to Carla how he completely lost it with the surveyor and doesn't think it's the right time to be moving away. Carla slams out, frustrated.

Soon afterwards, Tracy approaches Carla and spitefully reminds her that if she fails to keep her side of the bargain, she'll blab to Nick. Realising something is amiss, Johnny wonders what's going on. Will Carla tell him that Tracy has been blackmailing her?

Meanwhile, Izzy apologises to Gary for letting him down and fills him in on her terrible day. Gary is shocked. Anna moans to Kevin about how Izzy couldn't be bothered to turn up to court.

In an attempt to keep the peace, Kevin invites Anna, Gary and Izzy to join him and Sophie for dinner, hoping they can settle their differences.


Friday (2)

Carla explains to Johnny that Tracy is threatening to tell Nick about her night with Robert if they don't stick to their plan and move. Johnny assures Carla that if Tracy tries to ruin her wedding, he'll be down on her like a ton of bricks.

Carla does her best to persuade Nick that the move to Devon is still the right thing to do and suggests they could start a family. Nick is torn. At Roy's suggestion, Carla asks Johnny if he'd like to give her away at the wedding. Johnny is touched and accepts. He later corners Tracy outside Number 1 and Tracy is shaken by what he says.

Meanwhile, after a lovely meal at Number 13, Izzy drops the bombshell that she's been charged with possession of cannabis and assaulting a police officer. Anna is horrified. When Anna tells Izzy that she can't believe she's been so stupid, Izzy hits back. Anna, Gary and Kevin are stunned and Izzy regrets her harsh words. Later, Gary sees Izzy home and suggests that he should move in with her so that he can help out with Jake. Will Izzy agree?

Elsewhere, Jenny meets up with Johnny after hours for her sewing lesson. She flirts with him, but when he tries to kiss her, she pulls back and pretends to be shocked. Johnny is mortified, while Jenny is quietly pleased with herself.

Also, as Yasmeen busies herself getting quotes for a new conservatory, Zeedan is concerned - realising she's trying to keep herself busy to blot out Kal's death. At Zeedan's request, Leanne calls to see Yasmeen and talks to her about Kal's death. Will the pair bond over their shared loss?
