Without her pills, Steph suffers a meltdown during her mediation with Philippa.
Doug seeks help for a gravely ill Susan but then forgets all about her.
Amy’s mum, Nene, arrives in town.
Wednesday, 2nd March - Casualty!
Susan is discovered and taken to hospital, where Karl treats her, along with another casualty of the heatwave, Nene, who takes an instant shine to the doctor.
Paige wants a new man in her life.
Sheila suffers another heart attack.
Thursday, 3rd March - Betrayed
With legal guardian Sheila in hospital, Xanthe’s taken into care and feels utterly betrayed when she learns it was Kyle who alerted the authorities.
Mark is upset Paige is dating again.
Nene tells her ex, Paul, that he owes her.
Friday, 4th March - Aggressive!
Dementia suffer Doug turns aggressive and pushes Piper when her questions leave him feeling confused.
Sheila fights the authorities to ensure Xanthe can return home to her family.
Charlie rejects Steph... How will she react?

Monday, 29th February - Hot and bothered
The heatwave continues as Steph prepares to a mediation session to challenge Philippa’s adoption bid for Charile but has run out of medication. When the pharmacy can’t fill Steph’s prescription she becomes increasingly agitated worrying Toadie that she may be on the verge of a meltdown.
Tuesday, 1st March - Moment of passion
Paul and Terese are kissing while trapped in the motel storeroom when they’re interrupted by Amy. Terese and Paul are both awkward afterwards but could there be something more?
Steph’s mediation session goes from bad to worse.
Wednesday, 2nd March - In treatment
Susan is admitted to hospital following her collapse from heatsroke but Karl is being eyed off by Amy’s mother Nene who has developed a slight crush on him.
Paige asks Courtney to set her up on a date.
Sheila collapses again but Xanthe thinks she’s faking it.
Thursday, 3rd March - Impulsive moves
Angry that Xanthe left Sheila while she was having a heart attack, Kyle calls the Department of Human Services. They take her into care while Sheila is unwell leaving Xanthe shocked by his betrayal.
Karl doesn’t know how to handle Nene’s romantic interest in him.
Paige urges Mark to move on.
Friday, 4th March - Hope fades
Steph finds out Philippa is asking for full custody with no access to Charlie but she is allowed a phone call. Charlie is shaken by reports of Steph’s recent behaviour and refuses to see her again. Feeling as if she’s lost him forever, Steph flees on her motorbike, watched on by a worried Toadie and Sonya.

Monday

Paul and Terese are trapped in the store room with no power and no air conditioning. When the oppressive heat becomes unbearable, Paul suggests they disrobe. Although initially reluctant, Terese finally concedes it's the only way to survive the heat.

As the hours tick by, Paul and Terese open up to each other, revealing their innermost thoughts. Finally the intimacy of their situation and their attraction for each other overwhelm them.

Meanwhile, Susan offers to babysit Doug, who is struggling in this oppressive heat. As they set off for the nearest air conditioned shopping centre, the car breaks down. Susan suspects that Doug has added water to the oil instead of topping up the radiator as he claims. Abandoning the car, they walk back in the savage heat, but their decision proves to have life-threatening consequences.

Elsewhere, Steph prepares for mediation, where she will challenge Philippa Hoyland over Charlie. Panic-stricken when she discovers that she has run out of her meds, she asks Tyler to go to the pharmacy to fill her prescription for her. Unfortunately, they cannot supply them. As she meets Toadie to head to mediation, Steph struggles to contain her rising agitation.


Tuesday

Struggling without her medication and also unknowingly suffering from heat exhaustion, Steph tries to keep herself in control. However, the stress of the mediation, compounded by the day's heat, sees Steph lose it little by little. First she goes on the attack with Philippa. Then more disturbingly, she argues that Charlie should be brought into the matter and asked to choose which parent he wants to be with.

It's a self-sabotaging act that even Toadie can't rescue Steph from, so Philippa abruptly terminates the mediation. Later, in the hospital, Steph realises just how badly she has messed things up.

Meanwhile, Doug tries desperately to revive Susan after she collapses on the road, but she remains unconscious and he's left with no choice but to walk for help. Unfortunately, his memory fails him. When Imogen finds him wandering near the lake, he fails to mention that Susan is in trouble. It's not until Josh asks him where Susan is that they realise she's hurt and in need of help.

Elsewhere, Paul decides it's for the best if he and Terese stop things progressing further. Although Terese outwardly agrees with him, it's clear that both of them are still denying their true feelings.

Also today, Karl plays knight in shining armour when the mysterious Nene collapses in front of him. Realising who her rescuer is, she promptly develops an infatuation for him. Affected by the heat, she talks about 'the boy', but Karl doesn't realise it's Jimmy to whom she's referring. It turns out that Nene is Amy's mum.


Wednesday

Susan is rushed into hospital suffering from heatstroke and severe dehydration. Will she be okay?

Meanwhile, Amy's mother is delighted to see Karl every time he checks in on her. Karl has taken his wedding ring off due to the heat, so Nene assumes that he is fair game. When she discovers that she and Karl will be neighbours, she mistakes his friendly invitation to pop across the road for a drink as a romantic overture.

Elsewhere, Courtney predicts that Paige and Mark will be back together within the week. In response, a determined Paige encourages Courtney to set her up with a likely man - she and Mark are over and she needs to move on.

Also today, Sheila pretends to be struggling with her health to secure sympathy from Xanthe. However, when Xanthe discovers the truth, a furious row follows. Xanthe storms out, leaving Sheila to collapse.


Thursday

Kyle tries his best to prevent Sheila from finding out that Xanthe has gone into care by getting the troubled teen to come back home before Sheila wakes up.

Taking a pro-active approach, Kyle arranges a meeting with the DHS case worker, in which he and Amy try to impress her with their family attitudes. The case worker isn't sure why Kyle would file a complaint about Xanthe and then insist they're a happy family. Their chances of getting her out of care look slim. Things get even worse when Sheila discovers the truth...

Meanwhile, Piper gets on with her Doug documentary. She manages to get Doug talking about her birth, as he remembers the long ago past well. However, when he tires and Piper asks a confusing question, Doug gets agitated. Piper tries to calm him and finish her question time, but when she corrects her grandfather's belief that she's Ned, his agitation turns to aggression. He pushes her over roughly enough to cause a wrist injury.

Elsewhere, Steph learns that Philippa and Max are going for full custody of Charlie with no access for her, but they'll still allow him to see her today. However, Charlie has been shaken by Philippa's reports of Steph's relapse and tells her that he doesn't want to see her. Sonya and Toadie are saddened for Steph as she roars away on her motorbike.


Friday

​Xanthe arrives at Sheila's bedside to find a furious Kyle, who accuses her of leaving Sheila for dead. Xanthe refuses to leave her gran's side, and Kyle's anger diminishes when he witnesses her genuine grief and fear.

Later, Amy announces a surprise visitor - Bernice from the DHS. Xanthe is questioned by Bernice, who reveals that they've been updated on Sheila's situation. As Sheila is Xanthe's legal guardian, the DHS will have to take her into care. Xanthe wonders whether the hospital made the report, until Kyle admits that it was him...

Meanwhile, Paul pays Nene a visit in hospital. He tries to make amends for his past wrongs, but Nene isn't as accepting as he'd hoped.

Elsewhere, Paige surprises Brad and Lauren when she tells them that she has agreed to go on a blind date. When Mark finds out, she tells him that she's doing it because she needs to get over him and he should be doing the same. Mark takes this on board and tries to find a new match online.

Just to say Doug's memory lapse storyline reminds me very much of what my Mother was like 5 years ago, it was some time later that she was diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimers. I now get support from Alzheimers UK to try and deal with her illness.

Thank you for your kind message Dazzle, she is in a nursing home now, and my family who live nearby visit her most days, I am too far away but when I visit my family I do make a point of seeing her, the first visit was quite emotional but I amused to it now and just sit with her and recall memories of when I was growing up.
