Thanks! I think you're right about the good heart.

They're in the process of getting a rescued cat from a charity, so she's going to be in absolute heaven soon.

Not quite my day today, but a couple of days ago as we had a fabulous night at my theatre (the West Cliff, Clacton) on Sunday with Rick Wakeman. It goes without saying his piano playing was just simply brilliant. I especially liked his nursery rhymes in the style of....Mozart (Wolfgang), Ravel (Maurice), Debussy (Claude) and Dawson (Les). Also Eleanor Rigby in the style of Prokofiev. But of course there was much much more from rock to classics. His stories and anecdotes were also very funny - not a bad impression of Brian Blessed too! - and the whole stage show magnificent, well deserving the sustained ovation at the end.

He then stayed behind for almost an hour chatting, signing autographs and having his photo taken. A really genuinely nice man.

You can come again any time you like, Rick!

This week has been very eventful using emergency services. My 16 year old son was in such a bad way the paramedics came to our house...ten minutes after i called. They were brilliant. Then yesterday i was just opening my bedroom door and the lock got jammed. I have been moaning about the door handle for weeks and its one of those things my husband had not got round to. His friend measured it for a new lock etc the day before. Anyway my kids were all trying to get me out without any success. Its when they mentioned an axe i said call the fire brigade. They were reluctant but i said they get cats out of trees etc Then 5 firemen turned up after another 10 mins. It took them another 30 mins and i was free at last.
Now i have no door handle or lock and the door does not close. I am not saying anything bad to my husband who conveniently was in a council meeting throughout the whole thing. Its our silver anniversary tomorrow

Wow, your week has been eventful!

I hope your son's OK now.

I've had the same thing happen with two door handles in my house. Luckily, I haven't personally been trapped, but my daughter was! I live in a rented home so my landlord got someone out within a couple of hours to rescue her. The door was completely impossible to open without taking the frame off. I sometimes fear it happening again and being trapped for days because I live alone now.

I hope you've recovered from the shock.

    Happy anniversary for tomorrow!
