Just like the famous lovers, Piper and Tyler face their families’ wrath over their budding romance.
They started out as friends - he supported her when she was being harassed at school and she helped him with work at the garage. Now Piper (Mavournee Hazel) is crushing hard for Tyler (Travis Burns), despite his attempts to convince her that nothing can happen between them because Brad (Kip Gamblin) would kills him if she got her heart broken.
So she’s devastated to hear he’s attending Steph’s (Carla Bonner) single’s night at The Waterhole but when he leaves early and decides to spend time with Piper instead she’s thrilled.
After Tyler compliments Piper, she gets swept up and goes in for a kiss but their secret pash is interrupted by Brad coming home. As Piper sneaks out, Tyler realises he might actually feel more for Piper than he realises.
“I think Tyler hesitates to adknowledge his feelings towards Piper because objectively their relationship would be unorthodox if it were to develop into anything beyond something platonic,” Hazel tells Soap World.
“He keeps reminding Piper of their age gap and that it can’t work between the two of them. The spontaneity and lust of the kiss forces Tyler to consider his feelings towards her.”
Meanwhile, Imogen (Ariel Kaplan) tries to prove she’s over Daniel (Tim Phillipps) by asking Tyler on a date, which he agrees to, devastating Piper.
During the date at Off Air, Imogen tries to kiss Tyler but her turns her down, fearing he’ll hurt Piper. He leaves the bar alone only to find Piper waiting there. having defied her grounding. She opens up to him and reveals she’s not quite as experienced as he might think.
After returning to the Willis house they discuss their secret kiss but Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) overhears. Furious, she bans the pair from working together at the garage and tells Tyler to keep his distance. From the way the young lovers look at each other as they walk away it’s clear they still have hope of being together.
