PREACH! You know what.. Robert might be a nasty piece of work, but he was right about nearly everything he said to Aaron, that whenever something goes wrong he goes running to mommy and daddy, he always needs their approval. He's 24 years old yet he STILL lives with his mom?! How about the writers finally give him some independence for once? Let him grow up and stop acting like a teenager.
Part of its the fact he is a Dingle not that he
is gay.!
Dont take responsibilty/adhere to family
code-dont think for yourself etc.
Leave all the childcare to someone else!
Dont work when you can thie
Thats why I think the Lisa / Zak shake up
might be a good thing"She wouldnt be as she
is- if was born a Dingle and wouldn't
have to carry the a lot of them.
I believe in helping your family etc but
not to.the extent of remaining a child
mentally!..Aaron.does need to grow up-
theyve left him floundering and he had
the possibillity of being an interesting
character??!

Even though Aaron is Dingle does not mean he has to be a big baby. Aaron is far too old to allow the writers to allow Chas to continue smothering him. Aaron needs to grow up the writers better not say Aaron is 22 either the character is at least 24 or 25 at this point. It is just bad writing in to feminize a gay male character this way.

Being a Dingle shouldnt automatically
mean Aaron is a big baby( which is a bit
harsh-imo) but in practice a lot of them
are infantilised at ages older than his-
regardless of sexuality.
This infantalising ( rather than feminising)
happens when parents instead of "helping"
when there is a crisis- control their children
way past the age when they should encourage
their adult children to be responsible.
Its a form.of control. The "Dingle" way!!
When the family was written into ED - there
were less of them - Zak was married to Nellie
and it was a new scenario. Over time a lot
of them have become Caricatures!!
That's very belittling and insulting to self-harmers, who can be anyone from any walk of life (as our brave forum member sarah c proves above).
A quote from Self Harm UK:
https://www.selfharm.co.uk/get/myths/only_girls_do_itSociety holds this image of self-harm just affecting vulnerable young teenage girls, but that couldn't be further from the truth. We've said it already and we'll say it again.... self-harm can affect everyone and anyone - and that means boys too. And men for that matter.

But the show is feminizng Aaron sure there might be a few men who self harm but why does the gay man have to do it? It is homophobic for the show to make Aaron less than a man. I doubt the writers would make Ross or Pete self harm or be crying all the time. It is just an excuse for the writers to emasculate Aaron just like they are doing right now.
