As for the comment about characters being involved in storylines based on their sexual orientation, I have never heard anything as ridiculous in my life!
Completely agree, he has made the character his own and his character is essentially a villain so the fact people are hating on him means he is doing his job well.

I thought Ross was a terrific character before August 6th, 2015, when Pete left him for dead in the woods. Ross really lit up my TV screen every time he came on it.

But then Mike Parr lied to all of his fans and everyone worldwide in public before coming "back from the dead" and committing the most idiotic storylines since then on primetime UK soapland TV, like maybe ever?

Put it this way. If I was the job recruiter for Merseyside Tourist Board, THEN ROSS BARTON/MIKE PARR WOULD BE THE VERY LAST PERSON ON EARTH THAT I WOULD CONSIDER FOR ANY PR JOB.

Mike Parr has, in my opinion, made a truly dreadful professional mistake. No white pretty-boy publicity shirt will ever hide the truly dreadful stuff inside.

Emmerdale is a much better place without Ross Barton. I see so many great storylines now for other worthy characters. There
really is no place for Ross Barton in Emmerdale now and he really is a "yesterday guy" for me. I really save so much time and energy by not saying "Urrrrrrrr......" when Ross appears for a second or less on my TV screen during my time watching any Emmerdale episode right now. Things must be really bad as I'd really rather see Marlon being a fool than any sign of Ross on my TV screen.
I think the worst that can be said about the actor
is that he misled the viewers. As often happens in
interviews with actors reproduced on here. The
wording often sounds as tho scripted by producer( not just ED)

I accept over-hyping seems to be part of the
job nowadays.Making ii sound as tho something
sensational is going to happen when actually
it is a rerun of a plot seen several times before!

I think the PTB were ok about the hype and publicity.
If not they could have issued a rebuttal very quickly.
A sin of omission if not commission.

If a lot of viewers have become disenchanted with
Ross -it will show in ratings. That always
    concentrates producers minds!

Definitely! He's great at playing the villain role for Ross.

    Soap Spoilers: Emmerdale plea

    By Sophie Dainty, Digital Spy
    22 November 2015

Over on Emmerdale, Robert Sugden prepares to take to the witness stand as Chrissie's trial continues, but a heartfelt plea from her son Lachlan could change everything.

Chrissie (Louise Marwood) is facing an uncertain future as she stands trial for her part in the helicopter crash that cost the lives of Val Pollard and Ruby Haswell.

Knowing that Robert is due to give evidence, Chrissie tells Lawrence that the outcome is resting on his testimony as that is what will sway the jury.

However, unbeknownst to them, Lachlan has been listening to their conversation and decides to take matters into his own hands in order to help his mum.

Lachlan later asks Robert a heartfelt favour before he is due in court, but as Robert takes the witness stand, will he listen? And which way will the case go?

Makes sense now why Aaron lashes out at Doug the cheek of the man, I understand why he would be upset & worried for Diane but surely he knows Chas was nearly murdered by Cameron in that very pub & would never hurt her knowingly

& is he & Diane/Victoria ever going to apologise for their treatment of Chas & Aaron. I hope Aaron doesn't go to far to attack him or anything but he needs telling.
