Well, Jack was a bit of a lad ....I remember him as Vincent going on a blind date ... which turned out to be Vera because she found out what he was going to do but Jack and Annie and Roy and Hayley were true to each other

I think u are right about Jack & Annie!
Jack D was involved with Dulcie Frogatt for years.
Cleaning her windows on a regular basis!
Audrey was on the verge of something serious
for years but the only time she was caught
was in the mayoral car on.the back seat with
the chaffeur.
But in all the above relationships - there was
genuine affection on both sides and the
marriages did last and were reasonably equal
and balanced.

Regarding Roy and Hayley ( not a member of
the fan club) . I will just mention Olaf - the
team leader - when Hayley volunteered to
do charity work in Africa. Hayley "fell in love"
with him and was prepared to leave Roy for
him.until she found out something to Olafs
detriment! Which sums up her attitude to
Roy - in my opinion.
Hoping Roy does in time get a more equal
relationship and the viewers get a more
accurate depiction of a male to female
transgender person at some time in future.
I do.accept the actress was given a bit of
a poisoned chalice - the way character written.
I only know 2 transgender people - they and
their experiences are nothing like Hayley.

I think Hayley falling for Olaf was silly scriptwriting .. when an actor wants/needs time off from a soap, it is the easiest way to let them go for a while only for them to regret leaving and coming back.
