A gun drama I believe ....

It would make sense if Callum was killed off. He first appeared around that time last year and we know his contract was extended so perhaps to a year was a logical extension. Karma if he was killed by his own gun. Something will have to happen to make Max see David as his dad again (doubt they will want Callum/the you're not my real dad card hanging over a popular couple indefinitely and death removes it as far as possible.)
The Platt family will be at the centre of Coronation Street’s upcoming live episode as they battle drug dealer Callum Logan (Sean Ward), it has been revealed.
The live instalment, which marks ITV’s 60th anniversary, will be full of drama, comedy and tears, according to Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn.
“At the heart of all this is going to be the Platts and their ongoing feud between the good guys – and whoever thought David Platt would be one of the good guys? – and Callum,” Stuart told the Radio Times.
“It’s going to be full of shocks and twists and really will make everything that has come before look like a prologue.”
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and his half-sister Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O’Brien) are caught up in a war with violent, manipulative Callum, but Sarah looks likely to run into trouble when she takes on her ex-boyfriend.
“Decisions are going to be made that start with Sarah stupidly thinking she can get one over on Callum. From that point on, all decisions will have ripple effects for years to come. And that’s not just hyperbole. It will happen.”
Promising a “back to basics” approach and explaining that he wanted to capture the essence of Corrie, Stuart admitted the hour-long live episode would be “a huge challenge”.
He also revealed that Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and Cathy Matthews’ (Melanie Hill) tentative pairing will be “put under huge threat” – adding that it had been hard to develop things romantically for Roy after the death of his wife Hayley.
“It’s been a tough one for us to do because the memory of Hayley is still so fresh.
And yes, we want Roy to be happy. But do we want him to be happy now with somebody other than Hayley? Well, I think the answer is yes. Whether it happens or not is up for grabs.”
And it seems that the live episode will see big secrets revealed, as Sally Webster (Sally Dynevor) looks likely to be found out by her fiance Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) after recently sharing a clandestine kiss with former husband Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).
Stuart teased: “The secret will come out. The live episode is the week before Sally and Tim’s wedding. And when did a soap wedding ever go to plan?”
Coronation Street will air the live episode on Wednesday, September 23.
The live episode sounds like it could be very good, but unfortunately Corrie have been mostly failing to deliver on promising storylines recently. Let's hope this is the exception.
SB said the Roy and Cathy friendship would be a platonic one! I don't mind though, as long as it develops at a snail's pace. Anything else would be totally out of character for Roy.
Coronation Street's Bill Roache: 'I'm in the live episode but I won't enjoy it'
Bill Roache has confirmed that he will appear in Coronation Street's upcoming live episode, although he admits he may not enjoy it.
Speaking to The Mirror, the Ken Barlow actor said that he feels as if viewers are "waiting for something bad to happen" while watching a live broadcast.
"I am in it," Roache said. "I've been in all three. I don't enjoy it. It's a bit too much. You feel as if the viewers are all sadists waiting for something bad to happen.
"It is stimulating, though. It's a challenge. When we first started in 1960, we used to do the first episode live and record the second one. That happened for the first few months."
Roache, who has played Ken since Coronation Street's first episode in 1960, also said that he has no plans to retire any time soon.
He said: "It's great that Corrie still want me. I've got some good stories coming up which I'm excited about.
"People always ask when I'm going to retire, and I say not any time soon. If you want to keep young, you have to keep going."
Roache continued: "The fact I have to learn so many lines is good for me. I love the Street and everybody in it.
"I'm very fortunate to have been in it so long. I still film from 7am to 8pm just like I did when I first started."
Coronation Street's live episode will take place on Wednesday, September 23, and will heavily feature the Platt family and Callum Logan.

Callum Vs. The Platts
Good video. I deeply suspect Callum will be killed off by one of the Platts during the live episode.
