Except its only just over 40 yrs plus 1
earlier episode.Sorry- Not being petty- its
    just typical of the actress!
The Tv company have given it publicity -
prob at actress's behest- but they have
low opinion of viewers and think it will
    pass unnoticed!

I couldn't manage more than ten minutes. The nausea I felt at the non-stop gushing over the actress was nearly enough to ruin my New Year's Eve...

Can't watch anything with Paul O'Grady in, can't stand that voice, so I haven't missed much.

I'm pretty sure that was mentioned in the programme so I don't think anyone was trying to pull the wool over our eyes. It is absurd logic to say she's been in Corrie for 50 years though!

An online petition to save the former Coronation Street set has been launched.

The set had been used to film the ITV soap opera for more than three decades.

It has been due for demolition since Allied London bought the site in an agreement with the Manchester City Council. Flats, shops and offices are planned for construction on the site.

The site had been used from 1982 until January of last year, when the ITV soap moved to MediaCity UK at Salford.

Juliet Cusimano, who is championing the restoration effort, wrote in her petition: "At the moment when you walk down the cobbled street past the Rovers Return or go inside the pub interior, you're having the unique experience of walking where Ena Sharples, Annie Walker, Bet Lynch, Hilda and Stan Ogden, Vera and Jack Duckworth, Elsie Tanner, Alf Roberts and many other famous and much-loved characters have walked before you.

"You'll never have this experience at the new set in Salford because these characters or the actors who played them have retired or died."

Application for listed status for the set was rejected in 2012.
